Fuck it. Post WIP of Zelda Sophonts.
#yes I’m stealing EarthnAshes concept that Gerudo can produce fertile offsprings with most other Sophonts#basically in my view a gerudo is a very powerful human witch or the daughter of a witch#when a gerudo has a daughter they are a gerudo with features reminiscent of their non-gerudo parent#and when a gerudo has a son their a more even mix#though these hybrids can only reproduce with Gerudo or members of their non-gerudo parent’s species#(intersex gerudo/hyrbirds exists in a lot of different ways that I’m not getting into in the notes)#this is the source of Hylians (Zonai/Gerudo) and Wind Waker!Rito (Rito/Gerudo)#Ganondorf is essentially a Hamlet/Sauron situations where a male gerudo isn’t supposed to be a thing#it’s sometimes in a trans way#(gerudo are generally very respectful of trans people#it’s just that they consider respect for people who identify as men is to treat them like all other men#trans masc gerudo’s relationship to this societal norm varies A Lot)#but it’s often just this magical impossibility that happens#anyways!#the other bit of weirdness is that the reason Rito where once theorized to be related to Zora#is that Zora skeletons are very similar to those of the Anouki (a relative of the Rito)#it’s just convergent evolution into penguin-like skeletons#sketchin’
