#the sheer hypocrisy of calling out problematic aspects of feysand only to turn around and ignore it in nessian 🤡

I've realised that people who stan problematic characters(darkling, rice, rowboat) completely ignore the aspects of them that are problematic. I don't know if you've read red queen but Maven Calore imo is one of the best written villains and he is broken too. But I can't just ignore what he does in the books. At least Kaz stans accept him for how he is. But you're suddenly oblivious to years and years of abuse the darkling has done? What rowboat has done? What rice is still doing?
Yeah. I think some people fail to understand the fact that you can in fact like villains for being just that - villains (for whatever reason - maybe because they're complex and well-written or because they're hot which is mostly the reason people love them anyway) without trying to excuse away the awful things they've done.
Some people just straight up lack reading comprehension (I just saw a take saying that the darkling is better than mal because he didn't fear or envy alina's power which is literally so stupid given that leigh went out of her way to make it explicitly clear that he just wanted to use her) while others stan authors so fervently that they refuse to believe that books can be flawed (yeah this is about sarah janet).
