Best part of any X Files episode is when Mulder is on his own with a victim/suspect/civilian and he's questioning them and he finally asks the most outlandish and ridiculous shit ("do you believe in alien abduction?" "what do you know about alien abduction?" "were there and floating figures?") and they laugh in his face or ask if he's joking and he just stands there like 🧍🏻😐

I’ve been rewatching Person of Interest and I’ve finally reached that episode in season 3. I can’t believe they fucking kill her 😭😭😭😭😭 It’s been haunting my mind since halfway through season 2 and now I’m gonna have to see it all over again.

#her death was so fucking foul #I can’t believe they killed my girl #she Did Not deserve that 😭😭😭#like I know that’s kinda the point but still #so fucking cruel #literally gobsmacked every time I think of it #absolutely incredible cinema and story telling though #I mean 10/10 #gotta respect it #it was kinda perfect #there are two wolves inside of me #one is raging against her death and the injustice #and the other is admiring the brilliance of the storyline and writing #brilliance may be a strong word but I thought it was very good #good cop who refuses to be corrupted or silenced no matter how hard she is attacked #after losing friends and status and having her life relentlessly threatened and her morals tested and bent #finally completes her mission of bringing down the horrible evil shadow organization #and then almost immediately gets murdered in the street by the one last member of the organization still out there #never getting to enjoy and see her success and all the people she helped #really invokes that sense of overwhelming hopelessness #but also that you Can stop bad people #person of interest #poi #joss carter #john reese #harold finch #sameen shaw #lionel fusco #taraji p. henson #jim caviezel

not me lying wide awake at 5:30am on a sunday on my day off bc after almost a full year I finally FINALLY realized the implication of the end of remember them from the cyclops saga

#that song has one of the most powerful ending crescendo sequences ive heard in maybe all of musical theater #so it. always felt incomplete after ALL that buildup during the I AM THE INFAMOOOUS #only to just drop to SILENCE. no music. no fanfare. just ODYSSEUS!#he doesnt even really sing it he just sort of... shouts it #and then its followed by the faintest sound of ocean waves #its poseidon. listening. THATS why athena said DONT #poseidon heard that declaration and came back to get him later #😬#i just looked up the lyrics for ruthlessness too and poseidon basically spells it out 😂#ive only listened to that song once or twice tho and i guess i wasnt too focused on the words #anyway i relistened to the songs on friday and theyve been rotating in my mind like a 7/11 hotdog #the whole cyclops saga especially is just.... so so good #they truly dont make music about bashing peoples heads in like they used to #the first 3 songs of the saga especially... oof #how they blend one into the other back to back and end up making like a 10 minute narration of events #the whole thing is so bone chilling #it gets my heartrate up lol #PLUS the theme of pain and vengeance bring more pain #EVERY time polyphemus says 'what gives you a right to deal a pain so deep'#and when odysseus says 'what good would killing do when mercy is a skill more of the world could learn to use'#rocking back and forth sobbing crying #remember them the next time that you DARE choose not to spare! remember them... remember us... remember me!#cant wait for everyone to turn their back on this musical in 5 yrs #like they did with hamilto.n #hamilto.n never stopped being good actually #yall are just embarrassed about being weird fanatics over people who rly existed

Promises to come back for Adam after leaving to get help? I feel a lot of people come to the conclusion he forgot or lied or even a secret third thing were he came back and saved Adam and left a fake Adam there dead, but we gotta unpack the main kinda titular and climactic piece of the movie here.

He cut off his foot with, well, a saw and just used a shirt to try to work as a tourniquet. He did get to cauterize the amputation site on a rusty pipe to stop the bleeding, but he lost a lot of blood before that, and he wasn’t exactly in a sterile environment. There’s a reason everyone assumed he died almost immediately off screen, and he was almost certainly in the hospital for weeks, if not months, and probably took several days to even regain consciousness after all that adrenaline wore off.

I don’t think it’s that he forgot, I think he came to in the hospital, thinking he’d been out for a few hours at most. I think being told how long he was out almost killed him. Immediate, gut-wrenching horror and guilt. He promised he would come back for Adam and help him. He promised. He saw how terrified Adam was to be left alone there. I think even though he got ahold of himself enough to become functional after group therapy, Adam still haunts him for the rest of his life.

When he trapped Hoffman, leaving him in an unwinnable game, it’s hard to say if that was closure or re-traumatizing to him or perhaps both, but it closed a chapter of his life I think. Not to reference a completely different horror legend, but I do have to wonder if you still hear the photographer screaming, Larry?

#saw 2004 #lawrence gordon #adam stanheight #i don’t have. a particular point.#but thinking about him and Adam hurts me a lot #whether you like chainshipping or not #these two were undeniably attached to each other even if they had only known each other for six hours #in a way they really did both fail in the ways most devastating to them #Adam died starving and alone- thinking Gordon died- his prayers for salvation only answered by a plastic bag #Larry didn’t die in the physical sense- but a large portion of his soul is still chained there #and in the end even after all of that #he was broken enough to dedicate himself to completing the design of the one who did all of that to him and Adam both #but I don’t think Larry saw it that way. he didn’t blame John because in his eyes he only had himself to blame.#if he had been faster and left Adam the saw just so he had that one last chance #if he had killed Adam painlessly with a well aimed bullet at least he wouldn’t have suffered #but he didn’t #and Adam was left bleeding and alone with no food or water for days #and I think Larry hears adam scream every time he closes his eyes #it was a silence of the lambs reference I made if it wasn’t clear

i finally saw promising young woman last night because i am nothing if not dedicated to the hater lifestyle and i knew it was going to be awful but i did not realize it was literally going to be the worst movie i've ever seen in my entire life.
