Okay being serious though, I think Almeric would flex about having a boyfriend that's on a popular TV show. Tank did not know he was being filmed without his knowledge like everyone else in town, so he's thinking that it's full of actors that look like them based on what's happening in the town

My boy is flattered🤗🤗✨✨. He gets to be the first face seen as one of the main starring characters on the show

Tristan Legend and Giuseppi Mezzoalto from the Sims handheld series camping out in the Strangetown desert. The number of incredible tales that Tristan can share surely increases with the amount of beers had.

Commission for @just-ornstein - thank you for giving me an opportunity to do something with this concept :D

Ever since we discussed the idea of Giuseppi having kind of a crush on Tristan, I've been wanting to write a small fic about it, and working on this commission gave me the kick in the pants I needed. The bonus fic is under the cut. 388 words. It probably takes place a couple hours before the moment in the artwork.

Passenger seat

The desert eats people, they say, and they're right. It's not just the giant scorpions - it's the wind that rips out the dew from within your throat, it's the sky that's too tall and wide and blue and heavy; best to keep your mouth shut and your head down. The desert goes on, infinite wherever it spreads; a limitless space bisected by one straight road, a matter of basic geometry - that's where you drive fast and steady, alone for days in all directions, unless someone is filming some cheesy car commercial. The desert is the space of nothingness - but if you go there, you're searching for something, and you'll sure find it.

Tristan had been at the wheel for a few hours now. It had been baking hot all morning and afternoon; now the sun was finally going down, and in a couple hours it'd be the cold and dry night of the desert. Giuseppi stretched in the van's passenger seat. Not even a lone funky saguaro in the window to distract him from his thoughts. He turned to look at Tristan instead: in the late afternoon light, the stray frizz of his hair against the sun drew a golden halo. He was always like this, carrying that perfect glow, that dazzling charm, that winning smile. Giuseppi squinted his eyes to shield himself from that stupid brightness. What else could he do? Of course it hurt to see; someone like Giuseppi belonged firmly to the night, where dressed in black he concealed the wrinkles on his too-young face, the roughness that would never become smooth again. Tristan, instead, was all gold and shine, in spite of everything - what envy; and what delight. When he considered himself burnt enough, Giuseppi turned away to look at more rocks and sand. Strangetown was how many miles away now? There's nothing behind, and there's nothing ahead. The van drives on. In that moment, that's where the whole world began and ended.

Tristan slowed down, ready for a break. Giuseppi had promised to himself that he wouldn't slip back to his old ways, but maybe he had in him one last crime, if he would find the courage - to steal some sunlight from his lips. Would it be so bad?

I played through both DS and GBA versions of The Sims 2 recently, had some massive hyperfixations over those games for a while (and tbh still do, lol), so yeah. Really wanted to draw my fave character off those games; Kent Hackett <3

I love being weird abt the sims2 because there most definalty is an audience of people who are also weird abt ts2 but mostly the PC ver or maybe the DS or PSP. The amount of people ive heard talkng about TS2 GBA in modern day is 6.

But this game is so peak to me

You play as an actor in a reality sitcom show(???) Where all the other actors are real actual people with lives(TS2 PC fans. Theres uh. One grunt brother in there, and a Smith.).

And its set in strangetown cos its the perfect location in any video game ever

You get threatened by like half the cast at points. You shrink down and go to war with ladybugs. You poach dinosaur bones and then get arrested for said poaching.

An alien breaks into your house and clogs your toilet

Its also horribly paced and if you arent. Autistic about it like me, its unbearable (see socpens playthru. Its on yt)

But im like, so enraptured always. You should check out the OST(its the same as the TS2DS, so if your familiar, imagine that thru GBA SP crunchy speakers. That titlescreen song could revive me from the dead.

The edge of town is also really good.

The jokes arent that bad either, ive genuinely laughed at lines of dialog.

Theres also a minigame where you are chased by a ManEating Soda Mascot

And i love so much of it

But i was also writjng this to burn the clock till my shift ended at its 10.08 so ✌️

The Sims 2 GBA and DS establish that the sims universe has its own equivalent of Star Trek. However, Kent Hackett's GBA bio saying he's waiting for a movie deal that may never come, and the fact that no one but him and Ava Cadavra seem to remember the show makes me come to the conclusion that The Sims takes place in the universe where Chaz Dastard's Intergalactic Star Safari was never saved by a massive fan letter-writing campaign like Star Trek was in real life, relegating it to a simple cult TV show without much pop culture impact.

A ship I have with said character: Dominic/Daschell. The dynamic is just so incredibly funny and silly to me. Like these two would 100% work together, with Daschell making Dominic's villain attire (and improving them) and Dominic being a good critic for Daschell's art. They could easily put on a façade of a Doctor and Painter with a lavish home that hides what truly goes on inside... That is if they don't grow tired of each other in the first month of dating lol!

A BROTP I have with said character: *points up* The same counts cause they'd be really good friends. But otherwise... Daschell to me reads as someone that would be incredibly picky about who he'd let into his life and he admittedly doesn't mind being alone (or at least he says so). He might get along with Hazel Dente, Circe Beaker, Penelope Redd, Hester Primm and Vernon Peeve though. He'd probably enjoy people that are similar in age to him and are either just as stuck-up as him or ambitious/knowledgeable. He'd want friends that can stimulate his brain so to say. Vernon doesn't really fall into that category, but they both seem tired with life lol.

A NOTP I have with said character: Haven't come across any that I'm not fond of thus far. He probably wouldn't do well with Family Sims though.

A random headcanon: Despite his looks, the guy isn't the youngest anymore. And although I cannot give a specific age, I'd put him somewhere in his end-thirties (perhaps even early forties). He's also not a good person. He's the type of teacher that would get annoyed at a student for not "following the art rules" or "drawing anime" and mostly honestly doesn't even like kids/teens. I've mentioned it before already but if there's one character who I feel fully captures his vibe it's Ignacio from Spooky Month. He's also my voice headcanon for him.

General Opinion over said character: He's incredibly underrated and honestly my favourite Bustin Out character after Giuseppi. There's just so much potential! Such a shame his design is so incredibly NPC-coded. I'd love to do a redesign sometime.
