#102 Darius King a Legfőbb Szekta legújabb tagja

Alien Workshop In 1990, Chris Carter, Mike Hill and Neil Blender founded the American skateboarding company Alien Workshop. In 2012 Alien Workshop was bought by the original team rider Rob Dyrdek after a short time of ownership from the Burton snowboard company. The company’s goal is to produce skateboard decks, wheels, apparel and other skateboard accessories. Sovereign Sect This brand is also a part of DNA Distribution; A distribution company out of Dayton, Ohio that also provides the brands Habitat and Reflex. This company was bought up by Burton Snowboards in 2008. Videographer, Joe Castrucci, led the spinoff of Alien Workshop with the creation of the Habitat skateboard deck brand. Recruitment of Arto Saari In the spring of that year a long- term team member, Arto Saari, was brought onboard to the Alien Workshop. In the beginning of 2011, a picture of Saari with the caption “Home is Where the Heart Is” was released with the announcement from Flip that he had rejoined the team. Three years later in 2012, Saari talked more about his decision to leave Flip, explaining that the death of his former teammate Shane Cross was a leading factor. He continued to explain that it was not an easy choice, but right at that moment it was what was right for him. Dyrdek Era Skateboarder magazine announced Dyrdek’s newly found ownership of Alien Workshop in January 2012. In addition to his acquiring of DNA Distribution, the press released a statement saying "Carter will continue to oversee DNA Distribution in Dayton, Ohio, while Dyrdek will consult directly on all marketing and creative from his Los Angeles based office." In the summer of that same year they came out with a new series of skateboard decks, wheels, apparel and stickers. The new items featured the art of Keith Haring. Currently In more recent times, the only new news to arise was on May 1, 2013. Jason Dill and Anthony Van Engelen, two senior skateboard team members, left their jobs at Alien Workshop. The departure was publicly announced and well taken. Through the buying and selling of this company, they have remained strong and in good hands since the founding. Regardless of the loss of good team members, Alien Workshop still remains with many like them. Mike Hill.
“Alien Workshop mastermind Mike Hill has teamed up with Supreme New York for a collaboration which invokes the timeless paper-mache aesthetic of Hill’s earliest graphics for the company.
Given the previous long running connection between the Workshop and Supreme, through mutual riders Jason Dill and Anthony Van Engelen, it’s surprising a collaboration like this hasn’t come sooner. Perhaps the now infamous hiatus the Workshop was forced to take in 2014 is the reason why this a collaboration with Hill himself, rather than the Sovereign Sect, but the appearance of Dill in the above video suggests the storm has blown over in the aftermath of the Workshop’s rebirth.”

When thinking for ideas to use for the Penguin book brief I remembered an artist that I had discovered through the cult clothing brand Supreme.
I decided to follow a similar style for an experiment route by using cut up card instead of a illustrated approach.
