(Hello! I hope you're doing good as well and sorry this took so long. I haven't written for TWDG in a bit but I missed these guys so here ya go! Enjoy!)

Mitch x Selective!Mute!Reader

I feel like in the beginning when you first got to Ericson that Mitch didn't notice you much

Unless someone actively pointed you out to him or he caught eye contact with you accidentally

You were just very, very quiet

Even if you were at the school before it all teachers would try and get you to answer but you never did

You had your own friends probably, but Mitch never even saw you talking to them when he did notice you

So after a while you piqued his interest sort of

He would watch you for a while out of the corner of his eye to see you talking to someone

You just never did

So you were confusing to him

Even after the end of the world came he never saw you speak

Even when it was needed or when people stuck together

Mitch noticed you communicated in other ways

Either just by being there, on a notepad or even just touch

It was like it was all you needed

Sometimes some people would be assholes and give you a hard time

One time, even before you and Mitch interacted and he still knew of you but not knowing you, someone was giving you grief for not talking

They thought you were being stuck up or you didn't like them

They were getting more aggressive and Mitch stepped in

Mitch pushed them back and told them to fuck off, something he never really did for anyone except his friends or Willy

And after that you two sorta just clicked

You stuck by Mitch the same way Willy did

And Mitch got to know you better even when you didn't talk

And he actually liked your silence

It took him a while to figure out why you didn't talk

He asked why and you were upfront

You chose not to

That's what was confusing to him, why would you not want to talk?

He didn't pry, he accepted it even if he was curious

You may talk slightly, barely and few and far between

If you ever did talk, even a mumble Mitch would be shocked and think he was going crazy

Mitch liked your silence

He often sat next to you by the fire on the couches and did what he did, your legs in his lap as you did whatever the hell

He is not very good at reading you though so he still needs words with that

But he never forced you to talk, even if he sometimes wished you did

He got you a notepad from the old classrooms and you guys talk through that

Most of the time he just likes being with you

Especially if you're more a touchy person

Hand holding, slight hugs and leaning against him by the fire is more his style than words

He never had a good way with words so to find out you don't either and feel you don't need them makes him feel more secure with you

Like he actually shouldn't be putting off the idea of loving you

And hey, you guys are together without the words so you guys can exchange silent I love yours

He may even learn I love you in sign language if that's more your style

May even teach himself a thing or two

AJ always knew that if Clem didn’t let him do something, always ask you

You let him but Clem would always shake her head and scold you

Didn’t mean you stopped

You and AJ always got into trouble with the other

Both little partners in crime

AJ also when he was scared, not that he would admit it, would go to you

AJ felt safe with you and the addition of Clem

You had always been there with him and for him

You and Clem were the only people he would ever need, except for Tenn

Tenn was his other friend who he also was best friends with the best

AJ could do whatever the heck even if it was bad and hide behind you

With the addition of you, Minnie and Sophie

Tenn basically had an entire bodyguard team

But things did change after he was told Sophie and Minnie “Died”

He always stuck to you

Always by your side at dinner, doing chores and whatever else

He didn’t like being away from your side

Plus, he felt safer around you

Tenn was picked on when younger when the school was still a school

With teachers and the headmaster and even other kids

Before the others and him were left to rot

But when he was picked on you found out

And had a word with the kids

Tenn never found out exactly what you did but he saw the kids come into class scraped up

They then apologized to him, surprisingly

Tenn knew it was your work and thanked you

You were also Tenn’s favorite since you taught him a lot and gave him color pencils and crayons

Whenever Tenn was in trouble he went to you

Because you would always help him with whatever he needed and he relief on you

For as long as he knew, at the school you were always the protector

He was grateful for that since he was smaller, quiet and often afraid to speak to other kids before

He learned that all he needed was you, Minnie and Sophie

He was all set for whatever he needed

As long as you were there

Willy

Willy’s a little weirdo we all know this

You didn’t think so and neither did Mitch

You both protected the boy since he was younger and sent there for…his reasons

He stuck to you both like glue because he had no one else

Like AJ, when he got in trouble or messed with other kids he ran to you and Mitch

He often hid behind you guys as you dealt with it and he would sometimes stick his tongue out at the others

(He always did)

He was always smug he had too older friends who would protect him

Whenever he had trouble with school or practically anything he ran to you

You helped him always and all was always well!

When someone had the audacity to yell at him he was always smiling

Wanna know why?

Because he always knew you were standing right behind him with a glare hard enough even the badder kids would freeze from

Willy was never messed with and held his head high when walking with you and Mitch

He was well protected and he knew, and took advantage of it

When the world ended he remembered just being with you and Mitch

A Walker got in and tried to get him

All he remembered was you pushed him behind you as Mitch grabbed him

He just knew that you were gonna take care of it

And you did

That's why he always stuck by you and Mitch

Because you both always would be there

And you only eventually, because Mitch sadly died 

Even then Willy ran too you

You were the only one he really had left

And Willy knew that you would always be there for him

Whenever and wherever he needed you

You walked into your and Marlon's room, entering quietly to see him already in bed with his back to you.

You closed the door behind you softly with a click. 

You walked around the room quietly to not wake him up but change.

You grabbed the shirt Marlon kept by the bed and replaced your shirt with it. 

Just after you slipped your head through the hole, you turned around and saw the boy staring at you.

Marlon had a grin on his face as he watched you.

"Really? Again?" You asked, almost laughing from his expression.

"What? You can't blame me." Marlon defended himself, putting his arms behind his head to see you better. 

"You don't need to pretend to be asleep, you idiot." You shot back, Marlon shrugged as you sat on the bed.

"Where were you? You left me alone." Marlon stated, almost poutih like a child.

"I was playing War with Louis and Clem." You put, getting a groan out of Marlon.

"Now I have to worry about them stealing my own Partner?" He mused, getting a grin out of you.

"Maybe. Who knows? Maybe I'll leave you for one of 'em." 

You smirked, turning away from him as he looked at you shocked.

"Playing dirty now, huh?" Marlon laughed.

You yelped as he wrapped his arms around your waist and brought you to his chest.

"Marlon!" You laughed, panicked as he began to tickle your sides.

Your sides hurt from uncontrollable laughter before Marlon finally decided to stop, falling back to the bed.

"You're a dick." You hugged, blowing a strand of hair out of your face one you caught your breath.

"You threatened to leave me for Louis or Clementine." Marlon defended.

"At least they didn't try and kill me." You waved off.

Marlon then shifted over to you to lay with his head on your chest.

"(Name), can-" Marlon asked, not opening his eyes but stopping as you began messing with his hair.

You both laid there for a little bit, Marlons sighs were the only sound as you closed your eyes finally.

"Okay, shut up. I'm going to sleep." You finally said, causing Marlon to slump as you stopped massaging his head.

You got comfortable, well, the best you could with a full grown man on your chest crushing you.

Also, the pokes on your cheek and sides kept you up.

"(Name). Babe. (Naammee). (Name)!-" 

"Holy fucking shit, what do you want?" You finally asked, looking at your chest to see his smug face.

"I love you." Marlon stated, almost proud of himself for annoying you.

You shook your head, sighing at his antics.

"Yeah, yeah, love you too." You kissed his head, whatever made him shut up.

"Now go to bed before I do leave you for Clem."

There was no more argument after that, just Marlon and you in your own bubble of life.

So together you both slept peacefully, you always did as you had your annoying boyfriend with you.
