I’m not gonna lie. The last several months have been some of the toughest, I think for all of us in different ways. Being thankful and reminding ourselves of the goodness in everyday Is the only way we have survived some days. I am thankful that building a strong family unit isn’t easy, but forces you to work. Without the work comes complacency which is never somewhere I want to build upon. I am thankful for all that they teach me on a daily bases. I am thankful for the opportunity to change myself to make life a little easier for all of us. I fail a lot. 30 is sitting in a tent with your babies listening to your husband sing Happy Birthday before eating a dairy free gluten free caterpillar Cake that your oldest son has spit all over while trying to blow out your candles. And I would not have it any other way! Somewhere in the midst of having just finished raising my voice at Ezekiel for his non stop whining and having to hold Obi cause he just needs to be held all the time this photo was taken. Amazing how life is captured in moments. How much joy you can get from a moment captured in a photo without capturing the real emotion in the room. My mind is blown when I think about the 30 years it took to get to this moment. How I don’t really remember the first couple of those years and how Now I am mostly fully cognitively aware and in another 30 years I’ll only be 60! What memories I still have to make. But if anything is for certain. I am so thankful and so blessed. Even when I’m too hard on myself. Even when I’m not the mom I want to be in the little moments. Even when I raise my voice and embody my own upbringing. I am at peace with who I am becoming. Always growing but at peace.
