🥓 BREAKFAST FUN 🔥 The homies @archiesnoho mentioned possibly adding a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich to the menu. I never turn down bacon, so I got over there fast to give it a try. It did not disappoint! Served on a fresh, fluffy roll, the bacon was crispy and the egg pillowy soft. The cheese was perfect and thicc, while the ketchup gave it a nice dash of sauciness. 🧀 KAYSA-DILLA 🔥 The food gods always bless me with copious amounts of carnivorous delight, and the homies @angelstijuanatacos are among my biggest benefactors. Take this al pastor quesadilla, which looks more like a giant mountain of meat. It's stuffed with fresh chunks of marinated pork, toasted over an open flame. I let the taco man add errthang: both red and green salsas, plus guacamole, onions, cilantro and pineapple chunks. Grabbing a hold of this greasy gift is no easy feat, but it's well worth it. Life lately has felt like a relentless barrage of adversity and responsibility mixed with inanity and confusion. At times like these, I turn to the wisdom and calm that can only be found in crispy bacon, massive beef patties and melted cheese. I've spent the last few years embracing trying new things. I'm a tacos, pizza and burgers guy in my soul and I avoided BBQ until fate brough @thememphisgrill to my neighborhood. They enticed me with their friendliness and sealed the deal with their amazing food. The aromas alone amazed and enthralled me, piquing curiosity from corners of my inner carnal carnivore that I never knew existed. I had never experienced the smell of fresh five-cheese Memphis mac, garlic mash and juicy brisket together before. As amazing as that was, the flavors were even better. You guys have seen @joepeepsnoho on my feed far too often to count, and even that is but a fraction of the actual frequency of my visits there. I first discovered it with the homie when we were 16 years old on bikes, and since then I have ordered "two slices of pepperoni, sausage and extra cheese" approximately fifty 'leven times. Sometimes I go twice a week. I host my birthday lunches and book release parties there. I'm about to ask my therapist if it's appropriate to propose to my wife-to-be there. Today's post is all about two amazing things in my life: YOU, my foodie fam and @InNout burger. Just yesterday I posted one of my favorite menu items and asked y'all for yours. I got a great suggestion from @dinnerbeerandamovie to get a "double double with whole grilled onions and pickles, no lettuce or tomato," which sounded delicious. I combined that with a previous tip from the homie @georgeoo_ to get "extra toasted buns" and ordered the spectacular specimen in all the slides above. Sweet six-pound 10 ounce infant baby Hey-zues, that thang was thangin. The extra toasty buns change the entire texture and taste, adding a slight tension to each bite, giving your teeth an extra half second of sweet resistance before you feast into this food's delights. The whole grilled onions had a nice char of their own, with the long strands pulling me back in like a seductress, expounding on the new layers of this flavorful adventure. It all came together somewhere in the center, a mess of melted cheese, gooey grilled onions and beef, anchored by the saucy spread and thicc crunchy pickles. Oh @InNOut, it appears fate has brought us together again. The allure of your melted American cheese slices wrapping around three all-beef patties is too much to resist. For you, I'd wait as long as it takes, for your flavors render me oblivious to the 52 other cars in the drive-through. I just want to get beside you, up close to admire and defile you. Animal style is right, because the sloppy spread and grilled onions make my taste buds react in the most primal of ways. I'm blessed in many ways, in this case by the burger gods and my family, as this burger arrived to theCherchLife HQ courtesy of chef @retOne. It's a massive beef patty smothered in magnificent melted extra thicc cheese. Topped with crispy bacon ecstasy, alongside mustard, onions, tomato, pickles and some sort of green leaves from a plant.
