Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife is as colorful a character as small-town Mayberry, NC, has ever seen, managing to carry a gun with no bullets, awkwardly catch criminals, and participate in every social opportunity in equal parts.

Thelma Lou is Barney’s long-suffering girlfriend, tolerating his erratic behavior and countering it with her own doggedness to make him give her the respect she deserves.

Barney and Thelma Lou have constant ups-and-downs in their relationship, typically due to misunderstandings that become entirely out-of-control. Though Barney steps out with waitress Juanita once in a while and Thelma Lou conspires to make Barney jealous with various men of town, the two ultimately love one another and always find their way back together after their multiple short breakups. Muddling their way through a myriad of situations (buying a broken-down car, arranging disastrous blind dates for their friends, and launching an massive unnecessary cave rescue, to name a few), Barney and Thelma Lou share a bond that is unbreakable by trouble and time, as they prove episode after episode.

This is a black & white sketch done by artist Ron Harris in 1996. It is amazing ~ it looks like a pencil sketch/drawing of a lot of the characters (25 of the cast) on The Andy Griffith Show. Wonderful Detail ~ It is brand new, never framed or used. It measures 23"L x 19"W, nice large print. It comes in the original clear plastic cellophane bag with the white heavy card stock/cardboard back, that keeps the print from bending (it has a small piece of the white ripped on the back ~ see photo. This is not on the print, just the white cardboard backing, which you can use or not use when framing). The backing measures 24"L x 20"W. Images include: Andy, Barney, Floyd, Otis, Gomer, Goober, Opie, Aunt Bee, Charlene Darling, Briscoe Darling, The 4 Darling Boys, Ernest T. Bass, Helen Crump, Thelma Lou, Emmett Clark, Maratha Clark (Emmett's wife), Clara Edwards (Aunt Bee's Best Friend), Howard Sprague, Rafe Hollister, Leon (little boy with the sandwich), Mayor Roy Stoner, and one other character. Almost the whole cast! This is a pencil drawn sketch that has been reproduced into a lithograph. It is printed on high grade acid free paper.
