I realized that Gus has accomplished feats of illusion magic that match the illusionist titles we saw in Through the Looking Glass Ruins, so have this edit I made!

Okay but I’m almost certain the dual-trackers will be coming back for a minor role this episode. Like, we see Viney in one of the promo shots, but beyond that—if Gus is wanting to pull off covert shenanigans at the school, he’s probably going to at least try the dual-trackers’ hideout, especially since he’s on a team with Viney now. (Whether it’s actually safe/hidden from the EC is another problem entirely, but that’s up to the episode plot lol.)

Beyond that though, I think there’s another reason. If Gus’ eye really is getting involved with some kind of magic, who’s going to do the magic bit? He said himself he doesn’t know any spells that aren’t illusions!

So going off of that, it makes perfect sense for the dual-trackers to show up! Mixing magic is their whole thing! Besides, if it really is Oracle magic like I think, there’s no need for angsty eye-replacements. Barcus already has an Oracle potion, he’d just need to pour it on one of Gus’ eyes!

Of course, we can’t know if that won’t have its own negative side effects… but we can always hope?
