#throwbackthursday to my election night wine @decugnanodeibarbi Villa Barbi Umbria Rosso IGT. From my pal Ned from @corkfinewineyyc and @bonvidawines - this is a red blend of equal parts Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot sourced from estate vineyards grown in soils rich with fossilized shells and oysters. It is balanced with intense flavors of cherry, plum and leather backed by hints of clove and spice. This vintage earned a 93 point score from James Suckling and should easily cellar for 10+ years. Recommended service parameters of 1 hr decant time at 18 degrees C.
