There was so much good content this episode I feel WELL FED

The double irony of Boston “I can’t be friends with someone who records me.” Like obviously Nick’s expression is pretty telling as to the obvious parallel but also BOSTON

REALLY, BOSTON? YOU THINK IT’S DISGUSTING TO BE RECORDED. TELL ME MORE ABOUT THAT.

Loved the whiplash Nick was going through between meeting Boston’s dad, getting complimented, then having to deal with Boston not being able to talk about their relationship, and finding out Boston is considering leaving the country. “Like am I special or am I disposable?”

Still praying for “Nick locks Boston in the basement” bad end, but this could feasibly make Nick consider moving on from Boston. But I hope he tries to lock Boston up.

But DAMN BOSTON IS SO WHIPPED FOR NICK like “please stay with me, be my number one until I figure this out, I don’t need an emotional relationship but I’m lying to myself” at the mere suggestion of Nick being unhappy with him. This from the man who just earlier said to Drake “if I wanted to talk to you, I would have messaged you.”

I LOVED the confrontation with Ray and Boston. I loved the absolutely devastated look on Boston’s face “Who told you?” it was so delicious hurt my man some more it’s good for my mental health

Regarding Boston pulling away from Nick at the end of the ep—I’m pretty sure this is the first time we have ever seen Boston physically pull away from Nick. Does he suspect it was Nick who leaked the info? I feel like he doesn’t have reason at this moment to suspect Nick tho.

Or is he feeling sensitive about how many comments he got that day about him and Nick being boyfriends? Is he afraid that it’s obvious to everyone how he feels about Nick? Boston you emotionally constipated little man. You are allowed to have a positive emotion for another human being.

It is quite interesting to see Boston reeling from other people blowing shit up for once, rather than him being the instigator. Emotional consequences for my man?? I feel like Ray’s comments mirrored some of Boston’s remarks from ep 5, but at least Ray had the decency to not publicly reveal that Boston had been recorded too.

I hope things continue to go downhill for Boston. I love him and I want him to suffer and be sad and things.

ONLY FRIENDS episode 9 (my beloved) thoughts

AHHHHHHHHHHHH THIS MUST BE FAR MY MOST FAV EPISODE OF THE SHOW.

yes top should have been called out for his actions the previous night, his manipulative takeover of mew's day out with his moms should not have been framed as a "cute" moment but for being the only guy feeding the mess this time around one cant ignore his contributions.

Ray fed the mess too but somehow his talk with Mew seems to have sorted that out between themselves a bit too sorted for the sorta mess im used to from this show...a bit too sorted than people would react when both sides did different wrongs to eo..i woulda been happier if we had gotten a mini meltdown from mew and then they got to talking it out but ig in such high emotion time no genuine conversation could happen...which is why eventho its a bit too smooth to be true im still glad we got that raymew convo...when they told eo i love you and then hugged it was SUCH a precious moment

but definitely not more than that kiss that ray planted on sand's cheek after they made love after that heart to heart they had. i am gonna ignore some weird death foreshadowing thats happening cos NO that is not happening to ray. NOT ON MY WATCH. i cant handle thinking he would lose his life so young so soon, despite his faults i adore the boy SO SUE ME and i definitely cannot handle another sobbing boy at a funeral. not even a year has passed i just CANNOT .

and definitely definitely not more than that absolute gem of a scene involving sand nick being cute besties having fun talking, trying something out, (WE GOT THAT SAND NICK KISSS) laughing about it and then deciding to cuddle and sleep like my gawd the aroace in me died went to heaven and came back i was THAT ecstatic about the whole thing. its definitely the best thing that this incredible show has given me. i will never not be grateful for it.

also shout out to my boy MARK. i know the character is nick and i LOVED him throughout the episode except that moment where he was listening to boston and that other dude getting it on, but he's so earnest and so genuine and sees the good in the worst its really tough not to like him, as boston realizes this episode...loved that boston nick hug in ep 10 teaser...but also wth is show gonna do in last 3 eps...i do NOT get what they could fill it up with unless some major twist happens and as long as its not a sandnickcheumrayaprilyo death i'd survive. but gawd back to what i was gonna say which is that i ADORE how mark has played his role. i love him to bits and i really REALLY want to see him do a show as THE main lead...he's got the looks and boy has he got the talent. ohhh, pete's smiley mask! let's talk about it!

so, its interesting because from very early on in the show, you see these flashes of pete, where he isn't this dopey smiley toothy grinned guy, with a suit that doesn't fit quite right on his body and unkempt hair, that jumps and flinches, with this naive doe eyed boy-ish persona he has going on.

in those flashes, you see that he's actually really fucking smart, observant, on alert. a lot more wiser than he lets on.

the smiley mask he has is all to do with helping him blend into the scene, in the background, making him look as harmless as possible.

and yet, he's the head bodyguard, so how does that even work? surely there must be a streak of hot clinical ruthlessness, a lethal, cold savageness about him, for him to have the position as head bodyguard. he's got to be fucking booksmart. got to be, outside of just the physical demands that being a head bodyguard has.

what really intrigues me is, if pete is SO GOOD, is the head bodyguard, then why is it wasted away on being tankhun's bodyguard? that's not where the action lies, it lies with kinn.

and i think a lot of that has to do with suppression of one's true self. there's instances, like when he's carrying a drunk tankhun home, or waking porsche up from his stupor, where pete honestly looks like he'd rather be anywhere but here:

anybody else who didn't know would think he looks bored, miserable, fed up, dejected, that his potential is being wasted, that he's being forced or bound to be there tethered by something - in his case, loyalty. somebody else would liken it to ransom.

and its funny to me, because here, pete looks like he's being tied down. he's being chained, emotionally. whereas vegas? does so physically.

and its funny to me because, here, pete isn't being honest with himself. and he knows that. and when vegas sees that tattoo and says "what a lot of bullshit", is he wrong? is he wrong? no. he isn't. because vegas by that time has sunk in and gotten to know just how absolutely fake pete's smiley mask is, how dishonest that is, as opposed to what his tattoo says.

its why when vegas says:

he isn't lying. because that's exactly how they've treated pete - caged him and suppressed him and made him become loyal to them to serve them. and in doing so, vegas recognises, they've made become pete a shell of himself. a farce.

because if VEGAS can recognise that there's a darkness in pete, then how the fuck has nobody else done so?

maybe because nobody else has ever paid attention, and nobody else ever found pete to be that deep enough, beyond his toothy grin and boyish looks. maybe nobody gets pete's darkness, so he HAS to smile it away in an attempt to hide it. and its why it's such an EFFORT to keep up apperances and keep his mask on. it takes that much energy for pete to do so.

until vegas comes along and sees that streak in pete. something that so closely resembles to the one he has in him too. and he pulls that darkness, that sweet sweet suffering, out of pete - let it out.

and its what makes pete feel so seen. so bare.

vegas more or less wanted to make it his personal mission to wipe that mask, that smile off from pete's face. and i reckon that mask pissed him off the most, fueled him even more to rip it to shreds, because the real fun he has is with pete when he is his most honest and truest self.

and there's something to be said about the pure hope pete feels here:

because. finally. FINALLY. someone sees him for more than just this bullshit good guy persona. someone SEES him. someone WANTS to see him.

and so i reckon his friendship with arm and pol, its not that it isnt genuine, but its just not ... deep enough to satisfy him. he can't be Pete with them. he's just Pete, The Head Bodyguard with them, who goes out and parties hard with them and is down for a good time yet is efficient and Good At His Job when he has to be on duty.

but just because you're amicable with your work colleagues, doesn't mean that you necessarily show them all of yourself. that's private. and it takes for someone to want to know you on that level, for you to be able to open up to them.

and vegas freed pete. he liberated him. made him feel the most human and the most HIM he has ever felt. saw all that possible potential. gave him time and attention. gave him chances to leave and yet pete didn't. and its why pete can't go back to what was before. there's just, no way.

and its funny because, the first time pete genuinely smiles at vegas, after they've had sex, is the one smile that has vegas falter instead.

i started the first few minutes of the movie hoping that it was a sequel to the series but it looks more like a retelling or au so ill watch the movie another time

anyway, i still dont really know whats going on but i guess im glad i went through with the ride

i dont think i want to say necessarily  that im disappointed in the end, considering the show what kind of show it was and its not really like them to have a happy ending. if it was a regular (magical girl) series, utena would magically get a white outfit, she would have been able to save anthy and make akio change his ways by remembering how to be a prince again.

but you know that didnt happen lol

i didnt want to watch too many videos/look at comments analyzing the series/ending yet because i wanted to put my own thoughts out first but i have seen some comments already so

anyway im Stupid As Fuck so i dont think i Understood it At All. i usually take things at Face Value so i KNOW that many themes/symbolisms of the show had gone straight over my head.

how i interpreted it was Prince = Nobility/Innocence/”good”. utena wanting to be a prince (a masculine role) meant more as wanting to be (a protector) because she has stated that “she is a normal girl that wants a boyfriend”. ((i love her for this and i relate so much)) [[tho thinking about it the term “futsu” might mean “straight” in that context because they were talking about the rose engagement]]

i dont get what the duels were about in the grand scheme of things. Or the rose bride.

anthy as the “witch” came up way later, so i understood that more when paired with the “stole the prince from the world” backstory. I dont see how she became The Rose Bride. Is it that she is a slave to the demands of everyone or something. 

im going to ignore all of the dark rose arc because it was like net zero information.

i saw gifs of someone (im Assuming its Nanami) turning into a car (in the movie???) so i always assumed the Ohtori car was supposed to be Anthy but iunno, ill find out. not sure if the car is symbolic of s*x or something

the OP sequence and song, the art, everyone: oh man Utena and Anthy are so in love

noah fence, i really must be reading it wrong, but they seem like nice friends. 😅 utena never ended up calling anthy by her first name (i thought for sure it would have happened by half way) and the majority of the eps, theyre kinda just doing their own thing. Utena treats everyone mostly the same and its not like she coddles anthy, so seeing her banter with Wakaba gives more on Utena then when its the two. (tho utena not calling her by first name might be a “shounen” thing because she was playing the prince role)

“but what about the whole bed scenes!!! you dont just do that with A Friend” well the only thing i got from that is that utena wants anthy to open up but anthy never had the heart too and later utena realizes she was being naive for just Saying That and never Trying to see anthy’s pain

i find it Very hard to believe that Utena was “happiest when she was with anthy”. like sure, i guess maybe the most mundane moments were a good memory in the grand scheme of the rest of the nonsense but in terms of “romantic feelings” she obvious leans towards males. And Im not saying that she cant be Bi, but there was never a romantic attraction to Anthy. (if youre saying that shes attracted to The Prince in her past and both Toga and Akio had exhibited some form of that and thats why shes blushing around them, that doesnt disprove her being attracted to males)

you might say Utena does not need to be romantically attracted to Anthy for them to be close and i do agree. They do have have special bond, i can see this, and i'm glad that Anthy can finally step away from Akio to go look for the person who tried to save her. 

(again i am so fucking stupid because i was (fed) the “Anthy stepping out of her coffin, leaving abusive Akio”, “Utena not Revolutionizing THE World but A World, Anthy’s World”. So i cant take any credit for those thoughts)

Its always hard to read Anthy because she’s so straight face and you can never take her words at face value. There was the one line that was said in a preview “Ive always hated you” but it was never said in the episode (im Pretty sure it was never said?) so the whole Anthy/Akio/Utena triangle really confuses me. Like, Anthy trying to jump and apologizing feels like her being honest to loving Utena but at the same time she was the one that stabbed Utena in the final duel and it could be because she still loves Akio despite everything that he’s done to her so shes battling it with herself.

I do acknowledge that they do love each other, given how they had poisoned(?) tea and cookies with a smile and then the roof scene. Anthy smiling at the end makes me very happy for her and i hope they are happy together, but it doesnt mean that i can see them as lovers (yet)

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what else

Miki, Nanami and Juri are the best trio, i love anything with the 3 of them together. My favorite scene ever has to be when theyre just vibing at the council table and Nanami and Miki are talking about their unrequited love and Juri  is like “oh you silly children” and theyre like “youre one to talk”. So much fun, love them. 

Also loved when theyre playing badminton with Utena before the final show down and how theyre all like “oh we’re falling for you” but in such a cute supportive way

50% of the reason i started the show was because of shinkichi mitsumune but im kinda disappointed because i can barely hear the tracks aside from the vocal duel songs and zettai unmei mokushiroku. Aside from The Piano song. 

Maybe i just have to watch the series 3 more times in 2 more languages to understand it like i did with sarazanmai. lol

I've been slowly goin through it cause it takes me 2 years to watch a single show y'know. So far I'm digging the extreme drama that every scene eminates. It's pretty fun. The cast is stacked to the teeth with pretty convincing characters. There's a sense of familiarity that the viewer gets drip fed episode to episode that makes dramatic shifts in the plot feel pretty good. The only gripe i got is that conflicts tend to resolve back to the status quo in the very next episode after they're introduced so it makes it a lil hard to be fully invested. but! I am literally only halfway through, and a lot of the plot threads i pegged as 1 note ended up being good framework for the first major twist (the thing that we find out in like, ep 7). And the show has definitely got my patience for wherever it goes. The absolute strongest thing about the show is our 2 leads. Jesus CHRIST. I find myself with extremely complicated feelings on whose the "better cop" outta the two of them. And yes i know EXACTLY what people mean by calling Dong sik "babygirl" because he is. Joo-won is my cringe fail king fr gjffgjfgjffg. But fr this response is already really long, so I cant go at length about how i genuinely find these two characters fascinating. Overall it's a good watch! I've never been interested in K-drama really, but this makes me a bit curious about other ones

The Ep 12 literally broke me into tears. I saw posts saying that Sky was rude to Pai on the phone call. Let me clear this thing first. Sky had a trauma. He was abused by his ex and his friends. By 'several people' not just his ex but also his ex's friends too. Throughout the series you can see him having nightmares about that. He still havent recovered from it. He works and works to engage in something so he wont be thinking of it. He is even afraid to fall asleep because the nightmares. Guys its not a simple thing. Its fucking scary. I MEAN IT! You cant even fall asleep because it keep reminding of the worst things you had. Its terrifying.

And so Sky sealed himself from getting involved with people or Love. To avoid getting hurt. His heart is already wounded so much. He dont want to suffer more. But Pai coming into his life changed something in him. He still is insecure about being in love so that he tried to push Pai away, like so many times. But Pai knew and see through Sky that he needed someone by his side. Pai knew Sky was trying to push him because he was scared. And so Pai didnt give up on Sky instead he stayed with Sky even though Sky tried to push him away. Even though Sky liked Pai he didnt wanna get hurt anymore. He was guarding his heart. But Pai's care and affection hit Sky's heart and slowly he hoped to love once again. He tried to open his heart for Pai even though he was still scared of it.

And when he finally was almost sure about his feelings and gave himself to Pai , thats when he saw Pai with that guy. You can also see that girls talking about Pai too. And Pai being a playboy before made something uneasy in Sky's heart. But still he hoped for it not being true. But when he saw that guy and pai on sofa his heart crashed. I dont even know how would have Sky felt at that moment. It really broke my heart. He says 'again' because he felt that he was betrayed once again. And this is why he didnt wanna let anyone into his life. We know he was insecure about being in love again.

But I AM NOT BASHING PAI TOO! Beacuse we exactly know he was a playboy before. He had too many dates and hook ups. He cant just push away everyone like that. Pai is a good person, unless its necessary he wont stir things up. So he was being nice to everyone and was being clear about having a boyfriend and he dont wanna hook up anymore with anyone. He wanted to do that in the nice way.

And Sky then avoided Pai. When Pai called Sky, he said those thing to Pai. In here, think from Sky's perspective. He felt once again hopeless with everything. Things happened like he feared. At that moment most of us will do exactly like Sky did. We will try to push the other person because we dont wanna hurt anymore. It's like you dont wanna hear or listen to thing anymore. Fed up with everything happening to you. The pain Sky felt at that time... we cant even imagine. So him saying like that is an expected reaction. And both Pai and we know that he didn't meant any of those things he said. And Pai knew it clearly something had happened and was determined to figure it out and solve it no matter what. And he did!! OUR BOYS ARE IN LOVE PEOPLE!!😭❤

And now after confessing Sky is slowly being confident in loving Pai. Now they know how much they treasure each other. How much they mean to each other. And now he knows whatever happened his P'Pai will be there for him. 😭🥺🥲❤

arcane isnt black and white. It takes many rewatches, reading between the lines of dialogue, analysing the expressions and movements of the characters to fully understand it. Im on my twentieth-something rewatch, and im STILL finding new things. Nothing abt this show is simple.

so you just walked around, looking for a place to sit and think like a park

then you heard a distressed meow

you were just walking and hearing that loud cry of help made you stop and immediately follow the sound

but the cat cried even louder and you heard another cat

it was less higher pitched and honestly, you just felt like there was another cat

as you looked around, you saw the same cat you followed after and it bobbed its head at you as if asking you to follow him

the cat blinked then turned around and started walking

you took the time to inspect the actual color of the cat

it was dominantly white furred but it had multiple colored spots, mainly yellow and brown

you eventually ended up at a large tree with a cat shivering on the biggest branch

it was black and had some fur sticking out at the top of its head and it looked young so its probably a kitten

you tutted and reached out your hand but it recoiled, hissing at you
