[Masterpost] VAZZROCK bi-color S3 Vol. 11 - Peridot x Aquamarine
Tumblr media
Hi, hi~! After what felt like forever, I finally finished Peridot x Aquamarine~! I really wanted to get on it when I first got it, but I was occupied with other projects as well as a lot of IRL stuff and changes orz
Anyway, Peridot x Aquamarine tackles a pretty deep topic regarding embracing certain aspects about yourself and your personality, but VAZZROCK manages to make it seem light enough so that it doesn’t feel super overwhelming! Yuma and Ayumu were certainly a combi that I didn’t expect, but they paired really well together~! I can’t wait to see them interact more, too!
Also, I find it kinda funny that a lot of Yuma’s self-revelations and journey to embracing himself have been with ROCK DOWN members (* ̄▽ ̄)b There was his whole “I’m a heartless person” convo with Gaku, and then there was him also learning to enjoy things with Ruka. Now we have him questioning and accepting himself once more with Ayumu! What is with with ROCK DOWN members adopting Yuma all of a sudden? 🤣
This was a really fun CD, and I really enjoyed it~! I hope you guys do as well ^^ Emerald x Amethyst and then bi-color S3 tokuten drama are up on queue, so please look forward to them, too~!
CD is still available to order from here for those who want to have a physical copy, too~!
The CD translations have also been updated on the masterpost here, so please check it out when you can~!
Tracklist under the cut, enjoy~!

Hogwarts House Anime Recommendations: RAVENCLAW
Hello again,
As promised, I’m still going with some Hogwarts house based anime recommendations. Like I’ve said before, I’ve seen a few people doing book recommendations based on Hogwarts houses, and I thought it was a pretty fun idea. But I have yet to see any Hogwarts house anime recommendations, so I thought I would give it a try. Basically, these shows are what I feel embody the ideals of a certain Hogwarts house, have characters that seem like hardcore members of that house, or just give off a really strong house vibe. If you’re looking for something new or want to get into anime, give it a try.
Other house recommendations
hufflepuff
slytherin
gryffindor
This time, Ravenclaw! Some of the key Ravenclaw traits that run through these shows are cleverness, creativity, and the pursuit of knowledge.
Chihayafuru
Tumblr media
Okay, this anime is actually a bit difficult to describe in vague detail. The show is basically about a girl named Chihaya and her competitive pursuit of the Japanese card game karuta, following her starting a karuta club in highschool as well as her relationships with her childhood friends who helped her fall in love with the game. If anyone is wondering, since let’s be honest I had no freaking clue what karuta was when I started this anime, karuta is an incredibly physically and mentally challenging memory/listening card game in which two karuta players sit on the ground with karuta cards that list poems in front of them, and they basically have to pick out the card that contains the poem that a speaker reads out. It’s super intense and nerve wracking, and this anime takes on the basic shape of a traditional sports anime.
Ironically, I don’t imagine Chihaya to be a Ravenclaw; however, there are several characters who I would argue are good examples of the house. Like I said, this game is incredibly mentally challenging and strategic, a perfect environment for a Ravenclaw to shine. Karuta also has a rich history behind it, and it can draw all sorts of people to it that overall leads to the thirst for knowledge about many different aspects of the game. Not only is each match interesting to watch, the main story about Chihaya and her two childhood friends is very touching and genuine. It is one of my favorite “sports anime” despite the fact that it’s a freaking card game that is played on the floor in almost total silence. And if you’re looking for something similar that is less of a sports anime and more dramatic that showcases the creative side of Ravenclaws, definitely check out March Comes In Like A Lion.
2. Shinsekai Yori, aka From the New World
Tumblr media
Okay, if I thought Chihayafuru was hard to describe, this one takes the cake. This anime takes place in a post apocalyptic world where humans have evolved the ability of psychokinesis and live in a classic “utopian” society. The story actually takes place over several decades, following a group of children into adulthood. Part of the story follows the main character Saki and her friends and their adolescents going to their special psychic school, but eventually the story becomes more about the dark aspects of their society as a whole as well as the conflicts between them and those who do not have these mental abilities. It gives off a strong Brave New World vibe….except that people actually like this.
I’m going to be completely honest here....I do not like this anime. It was fine at the beginning, but in my opinion it completely devolved into an incomprehensible mess by the end of the series. HOWEVER apparently I am in the minority here, because EVERYONE who has seen it freaking loves this show for some reason. So I couldn’t just ignore it, and who knows maybe if I re-watched it I would feel differently. And overall, it does exemplify lots of Ravenclaw ideals. At it’s core, it is both a coming of age story and a mystery mixed with social commentary and war. I can see why people enjoy it, because each episode makes you come to terms with new truths, and it is mainly a story about pursuing knowledge even if it might hurt you, and the characters really do seem like traditional Ravenclaws. So even if this show is definitely not my favorite, some people swear by it, so it is worth checking out.
3. The Royal Tutor, aka Oushitsu Kyoushi Heine
Tumblr media
I know this is pretty new; I mean the show literally ended this week, but I thought it was appropriate. This anime revolves around an incredibly brilliant and short teacher named Heine Wittgenstein who is recruited to become the “royal tutor” meaning he tutors four princes in order to make them fit for the throne. This show is basically Ouran Highschool Host Club meets Assassination Classroom- a group of hot guys vie for the attention of a short super-smart person who teaches them valuable lessons about life and believing in themselves….without the trying to assassinate him part.
Honestly this show is adorable, and Heine is the most Ravenclaw-ish Ravenclaw to ever Ravenclaw. Not to spoil anything, but the show goes into his backstory about how he constantly thirsts for knowledge and how he uses it as a tool to help himself and others succeed. Not only is he trying to use teaching to make the princes learn more academically, but he wants to make them better people and help them become more comfortable with themselves and their abilities. The princes themselves are also very creative and fun to watch. Overall, it’s a great Ravenclaw anime.
4. Log Horizon
Tumblr media
This anime is takes on the classic “trapped in a video game” trope, but it does it in a very refreshing more realistic take on gaming...meaning IT’S NOT SWORD ART ONLINE, as Gigguk aptly puts it. The main character Shiroe is one of 30,000 Japanese gamers who are caught trapped and unable to log out of the popular Elder Tale game. Naturally, the show follows the main characters adjusting to this new life and...not really trying to leave because they DON’T DIE IN REAL LIFE IF THEY DIE IN THE GAME!
Instead of an overpowered Gary Stu, Shiroe is a hard core strategist, and his way of thinking and fighting is always interesting to watch. And no, I don’t really mean to dump on SAO; everyone likes what they like. It’s just that Log Horizon is very different from it, and Shiroe is a very different protagonist. This anime goes crazy in depth with it’s world building and magic/rule system, and it’s incredibly creative with how characters battle and problem solve. However, there are many mixed opinions on the second season, and so far the show mainly leaves you with more questions. Nevertheless, it’s a great Ravenclaw-esque show to get into. If nothing else, watch it for the smooth talking literal cat man.
5. Erased…..and Steins;gate
Tumblr media
Yes, I know a double recommendation! And yes I also know that both of these are pretty well known, but I just had to bring them up. For anyone who doesn’t know, both of these shows deal with time travel and loss in some form or another. While Erased deals with one man’s ability to be transported back in time, Steins;gate revolves around a lively group of nerds who learn how to send messages into the past using a microwave. However, Erased is more of a murder mystery dealing with the main character being transported back to his childhood to save his classmate, while Steins;gate is just all over the place with its consequences and timelines.
Honestly, I enjoyed Erased much more than Steins;gate, but I both think that they are good Ravenclaw shows. Steins;gate is much more obviously an anime about wrapping your head around complex concepts and figuring out what is important, and it’s characters are much more “creative” overall. However, Erased will constantly keep the audience guessing and working to put pieces of a puzzle together. And I actually did enjoy the ending of Erased, despite the reveal of the actual murderer. Erased is very heartwarming with a note of disturbing themes while Steins;gate will rip your heart out and then make you question what is happening.
Tumblr media
So those are just some good Ravenclaw themed anime. I’m glad there are some good ones for my house.
