adding to the "there should have been more genuine tension within the seven" train of thought, it would have been funny if the Argo II, technically being a ship, meant it fell under Percy's power domain and he could control it all at whim, rendering all the carefully crafted controls Leo built useless if Percy felt like being an asshole

headcanon that as sophie ages, she gets more and more off-put by how she still looks twenty at some age past 40. the only wrinkles she has are smile lines and a barely-there crease between her eyebrows that never leaves. no gray hairs. it doesn’t feel like there’s any physical evidence of how much stress aged her too fast.

(maybe she dyes more grays into her hair to feel better about her reflection, the more time passes by. maybe, on bad days, she contours wrinkles into her skin with makeup. maybe the bad days get more frequent as she ages outside the human lifespan. maybe.)

#i feel like fitz and dex are the only friends of hers that really get it #since fitz understands more surrounding human cultures than most elves thanks to his firsthand experience in the search #and dex grew up with his mom’s romcoms #which would probably show some human perspectives on aging #and his mom explaining some things that didn’t quite make sense to Smol Dex #but i’ve always imagined sophie turning up on fitz’s doorstep in the middle of the night #with tears running down her face and saying she didn’t know who else to talk to about almost-immortality feeling so so so wrong as she #gets older. not necessarily just because he knows more about humanity than most of her group #but also because like. there’s some part of her that says ‘if he can help you through learning to be an elf at 12 maybe he can help you at #42 too’. and they’re cognates. and they’ve gotten old enough to set aside teenage grievances with one another #and i like the idea of them sitting on a couch together by lamplight and trying to navigate the cultural and personal differences #in how the two of them and humanity and the lost cities view mortality #and not really reaching a concrete conclusion. but rather. a conclusion that keeps the two of them sane until they reach triple digits.#and then they have the conversation again. and come up with a plan to stay sane in their triple digits. and the same thing pops up in their #thousands. idk man the whole thing screams trust down to the bone and that’s what they should have when the war is over #is there anything more Cognate than talking through wildly different fears surrounding the same thing that make both parties #super vulnerable??? down to how your minds work in the face - or lack of - death?#maybe so but i can’t think of them off top of my head #kotlc #sophie foster #kotlc headcanons #keeper of the lost cities

One of the other ways clothing is steadily getting worse: pants of all kinds are getting thinner and show underwear lines almost as a standard now, even when the lines of the underwear are thin and masked with lace. This wasn´t a problem years back, but now I have to check every pair of dress pants I try on, and even some jeans - JEANS - for underwear lines.

"Just wear seamless underwear-" they're all made of plastic fabrics which aren't good for the bacterial enviroment of the coochie bc they don't breathe. The solution to all fabrics getting thinner and thinner should NOT be "buy bad plastic underwear instead".

#other stories has ONE model of dress pants that dont do this and is very flattering #begging on my knees that they dont ruin it for more profit also please release it in more colors #also another gripe I have: my newer jeans wrinkle much easier than older ones we're only talking a few years old and it's gotten worse #so fast #'just iron/steam them' oh I am BUT SHOULD I HAVE TO??#lots of clothing has always needed to be steamed or ironed #but lately many clothing items get wrinkly immediately instead of lasting two wears without having to do it again #clothing getting shittier and shittier #more expensive clothing is not immune to this they have to promise shareholders eternal growth too #also all the more mid end clothing brands which claim to focus more on quality #insist on only producing oversized clothing in beige or black #like I already know I look a tent in oversized/baggy beige clothing #fashion industry #ellen vents

Not even being dramatic when I say this is the 2nd worst gymnastics scandal after Sydney 2000. The FIG should be ASHAMED of themselves for their handling of this Olympics

#olympics #now everyone has to deal with the fallout that will happen once the ioc officially requests for jordan to give her medal back #i have had a lot of changing opinions about this floor final and this is what i now think #the judges did make a mistake about accepting Jordan's inquiry. but they haven't answered when the 1 minute starts #do they start a timer as soon as the scores are displayed #does the coach have to go to the judging area within the one minute? or does a form have to be filled out and a fee have to be paid?#transparency would be GREAT #they bumped ana's score from 13.7 to 13.766 and nobody has explained where the .066 came from #also sabrina got a 0.1 oob deduction but people have reviewed her routine and she never stepped oob #because her coach didn't inquire about this she doesn't have a chance at the bronze even though it should have gone to her to begin with #just a disaster all around #and also multiple gymnasts have gotten screwed by the judging + the judges haven't been consistently applying deductions #suni went out of bounds on vault at aa finals and didn't get a penalty #heard people talk about gymnasts going overtime at the bb finals without a penalty but simone got a .3 deduction for not saluting #but she actually did salute #one gymnast got a .3 deduction when it should have been a .1 deduction and that took her out of aa finals even though she should be there #no accountability from the FIG who caused this but the athletes are having to suffer from their mistakes #and i doubt anyone is gonna lose their job or be punished by this #and don't get me started on the amount of racism that is also at play with all of this #I'm sooooooo upset and the more developments that come out the more i think FIG should be dismantled #it's nof right to play with people's mental health like this

Every day I wake up regretting getting emotionally invested in Jujutsu Kaisen

#It's both the best and worst thing ever written #So much potential. Wonderful dynamics. Every concept that ever mattered to me personally #which means it's all the best concepts ever in the history of humankind #The most adorable kids. The most gorgeous women. The most whatever Gojo is #Which is pretty much 'everything' considering he is not Jack or Heathcliff #And yet #AND YET #It fails at reaching its full potential on any of the stuff I mentioned #It's truly truly the best thing ever. It's truly also a source of constant dissatisfaction #AND YET AGAIN #When you think 'yeah okay it's too much dissatisfaction it isn't worth it' it hits you again with the best thing ever #I hate it here so much #I wish I didn't get into this at all in general and I specifically wish Gojo Satoru would disappear for good of reality itself #Just *pum* vanished. Like melting water on snow or something #As if he had never been at all. And then I'd have never gotten into this #Anyway... I'm begging everyone who is into Gojo to read Georg Cantor. I have some other authors and texts. I can send stuff #In any case it's all good.
