an xb inspired fakemon line - exbite, exbow, and mercenexbe

i think seeing hermit/mcyt inspired fakemon would be awesome!!!

sorry im going to go full autism here - i designed these to be kind of like starter pokemon!!

Exbite (lv1-15) (Water), Exbow (lv16-35) (Water), Mercenexbe (lv36-) (Water/Dark)

As starter analogues they all have the ability torrent and the hidden ability storm drain - though i debated with something like keen eye/super luck so an accuracy or critical hit based ability

A possible stat spread would be bulky and high sp.atk, not incredible speed though

There is already a perfect signature move in Snipe Shot so it’s sharing with Inteleon haha, this is why it also cant have the sniper ability, like most water types it would get access to strong special ice moves as well as water ones. Maybe Thunder and Hurricane as well. When Mercenexbe gets the dual dark typing too it gets some nice dark moves and more setupy stuff, like the guy hes based on he can be a bit sneaky too! A scary rain dance sweeper maybe!

Oh I have never been asked this publicly before (for I have not been asked... anything publicly before this week LOL) but I don't know if you're prepared for how much I have thought about my ocs as pokemon or how much effort I am currently putting in to... Well. You'll see.

So. I have Thoughts.

Here are my thoughts (names quickly added for this to be understandable by anyone but me. But I've had this image made for quite some time)

(I love that regular wingull appears on here twice. It was kind of the only choice for both of them LOL.)

So this is like.. The whole cast of MYMK lmao. Even down to background characters. These are like... PMD style pokemon assignments. I tried to balance "literally looks like them" with "has the right vibes, thematically". So you can see a couple thematic pairs of pokemon like the cherrims, meowstics and such. Then other fun picks like Charizard for Hainu, since he's a, well, hypebeast more than he is a person. Then, Markus and MacGuffin get Silvally and Type: Null for (wink) reasons.... And Miao is Marowak because don't even worry about it. Lupus is Lycanroc-Dusk because funny doggy shounen protagonist :)

Also there are ABSOLUTELY pokemon that fit Tabitha better than Persian does but I've been saying hes one of those since 2015 and I'm attatched to it now.....

The reason I went ahead and planned these out and finalised these recently though.... Is because I also assigned them all ideal ribbons/marks/pokeballs and am going to hunt them all! Right now I'm prioritising getting ones where the ribbons/balls necessitate getting them from gens 4-7, but they're all nearly done and are sitting in ultramoon while I grab the royal master ribbon for a few!

(Obviously I've named pokemon after OCs before but these will be The Definitive Guys... Until next gen inevitably introduces the perfect guy for someone lol. C'est la vie!)

I've got a couple more already in swsh and scvi (recently I caught Lazulite in swsh! Go Raid RNG!) but this is the big first step. As for how many other steps there are....

Anyway! Most of the main characters have fully assigned "if they were a pokemon trainer" Rosters too with some lore. (Chrome does contests, All of Tabitha's pokemon have been gifted to him, Lupus has insane shiny luck, Ali Will Summon Giratina....)

Also! The Alighieri triplets map perfectly onto the shiny meowths! They were the first three I went out of my way to hunt back when I saw shiny G-Meowth and realised!!! Pink Yellow Blue!!! My little guys!!

And lastly the thing you almost certainly weren't asking was "what would your OCs look like if they were fakemon, but I also have that for, you guessed it, Chrome, Tabitha and Ali.

Now... As for bugsnax. I have not played bugsnax but I DO have a resident bugsnax fan... So I asked him out of curiosity and they Extremely Delivered. So, Courtesy of @thebrightesteyes....

Also, of note. Ali (and their siblings) does actually have a canon favourite pokemon and opinion on pokemon because they're from a real-world setting. Thing is they are like, not a gamer. So...

Ali likes Dusknoir and Seviper because they saw them on trading cards as a kid and likes Hoopa Unbound because Ari showed them on pokemon go knowing they'd like the design. If they gamed though they'd LOVE Giratina but Hoopa would probably stay top spot.

Ari likes Raichu, Lurantis and Toucannon. (Gamer)

Admittedly with this whole Armor Evolution I've decided to go into, I'm now faced with a dilemma

A. I've gone against the very thing I initially set out to do with my region originally- that is, a game without an overnight reliance on a gimmick to use as a crutch.

But being fair, if things go to plan, the armor evolutions will actually be pretty low in number compared to the amount of new fakemon and such you'd normally get. Last I did math, there's roughly 3 to 4 gens worth of new Pokemon to work with that won't require said gimmick, whereas armor evolutions so far only encompass about... 40 to 50? The region would be huge, it's an entire coast line, so it kinda has to have a lot to work with.

But also, in theory, the mechanic wouldn't really do much different in comparison to a cross Gen evolution or something. There's plenty of drawbacks to encourage you not to keep your pokemon in that form forever, and also with exception to a very select handful related to story plot, there's not really any numbers added to BST, just rearranged. Sure, it might seem a tad unfair to have access to a fully evolved starter's bst in the teens, but theoretically so would other trainer including gym leaders, rivals and such. It wouldn't be advantageous to keep it turned on constantly in that regard either, because then that makes catching pokemon harder. The beginning early 30s might seem like a cake walk, but eventually stats would start to even out and you'd have to actually use strategy again.

Plus, it's just... fun this way? I thought Dynamax was stupid because it just makes your pokemon bigger and it's just for a limited time, even with new forms. As much as I love Megas, I wish I could just keep them as is forever and treat them as new pokemon. Zmoves and Terra are cool, but not as fun as gaining a new form.

Armors in this regard would just give you more new Pokemon to enjoy semi permanently. A type change can open up your team to new members you wanted but couldn't have because of type overlap. In the event a starter evolution isn't to your liking, you can just swap to another form that is. This just opens up more doors to have fun.

But I'm still a hypocrite lol. At least it has potential to be fun.

B. It'll be a LOT like Digimon I guess. But... is that a bad thing? I like both.

As a kid, I used to pretend Flamedramon was a Pokemon anyway so I could play with it and my Pokemon toys. Likewise, I would give Pokemon additional evolutions just like Digimon- well before megas were even thought of- example being Metal Charizard or War Charizard, etc.

The region is meant to be a playground for me to mess with and explore all of my childhood fantasies about my favorite things in one place. In that regard, why shouldn't I indulge in that a bit if I can make it fair and balanced?

C. I'm now fighting the urge to make Flamedramon a Pokemon again for the first time since i was 7 lol. I think I might try it anyway, or at least indulge and try to incorporate what makes it such a cool design into a cool poke/fakemon.

I mean it'll probably never become a real playable fan game anyway, so it's just me playing with toys again except I'm making them in ms paint.

I’ve changed my mind, after finishing my 6th art yesterday, I decided to do one or two more (maybe even three, but that's very unlikely) for this event, as I have few more ideas and time for that.

It’s my first comic, not counting terrible Pokémon ones I have done as a kid years ago. That's my first and the best idea and the biggest project for this year Adrienette April. I knew that if Miraculous characters are going to play a video game, that's have to be my favourite series. Pokémon is a big part of my life since my childhood, it's been almost 20 years since I'm a fan (October/November 2000, I think). Although things I like in Pokémon franchise have changed over the years, it has began with the anime, now I can't stand it. And Pokémon is the reason why drawing is my hobby, I spend lots of time at drawing Pokémon and I have designed so many my own monsters (they're called Fakemon in the fandom) in childhood/teenhood, though most of them are terrible.

Characters are playing Pokémon X and Y versions, a pair of VI generation games released in October 2013 worldwide for Nintendo 3DS, they all are playing on 3DS XL, since it's the best version of this handheld available at that moment. It's the battle in early game, because I wanted to show starters in their first evolutionary stages. All in-game text is written in French of course (thanks YouTube videos and PokéPedia, French version of Bulbapedia). There're also French names of Pokémon: Marisson = Chespin Grenousse =  Froakie Feunnec = Fennekin

Froakie's moveset is: Pound Lick Bubble Quick Attack

The choice of the games is not accidental. Pokémon X & Y take place in Kalos, a region based on France. It's second non-Japanese-based region in the Pokémon universe, after V generation Unova (United States-based). Marinette is playing X version as its mascot is Xerneas, Legendary Pokémon of Life (part of Aura Trio), which is related to Creation. While Yveltal, Y version's mascot is called Legendary Pokémon of Destruction in the English version (in the original Japanese it's Death Pokémon, Americans are afraid of using words like "death" or "evil", Dark-type is known as Evil-type in Japan). This is why I have drawn Legendary Pokémon for the background, too. Reshiram and Zekrom of Tao Trio from V generation games would fit Marinette and Adrien too, since they are related to Ying and Yang, but they are not from France-based region.

The choice of starters is based on their colors, Marinette's is blue Froakie, Adrien's green Chespin. I know that Marinette is too smart to use one of the weakest Water-type move against Grass-type Chespin, but bubbles are too fun to draw. ;) Alya and Nino are here too, because I wanted to show all three Kalos starters, besides fennec fox fits the fox Miraculous user perfectly. She loves to pet her Fennekin as much as she can in Pokémon-Amie. Unfortunately, there's no fourth starter for Nino, but he's also playing Pokémon games, although his Kanto starter (which are distributed in Paris-based Lumiose City by professor Sycamore) is Water-type turtle Squirtle of course.

Earlier I also got some ideas for Pokémon x Miraculous arts, like designing Pokémon-based Kwamis or drawing Marinette and Adrien in the Pokémon world in more Pokémon-ish artstyle (and Alya with her fox), but there're always more important things to do. I'm not giving up on my ideas, I'm planning to make my Pokémon AU arts someday. At least I hope. ;)

Let’s Talk About Pokemon - The Bug Type

Oh boy, it is indeed TIME for the finale of all these type reviews. Covering my absolute favorite type of them all: Bug!

I had always had a loving fascination with insects and arthropods since I was a young child. I'd not be shy to let them crawl on me so long as they weren't outright menacing like a particularly dangerous spider or some variety of ant with some mean chompers. I was THAT KID that caught caterpillars, fed them until they became butterflies, and then let them go. The kid that tried (and sadly failed) to keep an ant farm. I only kill bugs in my house that are being particularly invasive (and even then I always feel awful doing it); the rest I just escort outside. I don't care what any “whoa kill it with FIRE!!!!” kinda commenter says, spiders are pretty much welcome to stay in my room.

How sad is it that as I see it, one of the perks of having an outdoors day-job is I regularly get to make friends with insects?

Point is, bugs are good. They're good for the environment, and important to Pokemon's history itself. The man credited with creating Pokemon, Satoshi Tajiri, cited the major inspiration for Pokemon being his childhood memories of collecting bugs. OF COURSE bug would get its own dedicated element in this sort of RPG! As well as being one of the more populated types in the series.

It's just sad that it's not exactly THE most meta type out there. It's weak to a lot of types that are bad to be weak to like Fire, Rock, and Flying, but don't have much in the way of resistances or type advantages. The one real perk they have resistance-wise is blocking Fighting. They're at least good against some types that are handy to have a counter to. Either way, I pretty much CAN'T go a whole playthrough without picking up a bug buddy. It's impossible.

It also comes to light to me that, when you look over the whole roster of buggies like this, it turns out not one Bug is really designed to be “gross” or unappealing outright. I mean, I guess shed cicada skin can be uncomfortably crusty to the touch, but other than that, hmm. Nah, the closest we get is “arthropod menace” and that's about it. How do was have a COCKROACH Pokemon in the series at this point and the type is more or less squeaky clean as ever?! I guess I kinda do appreciate that Gamefreak rather legitimately celebrates insects as some really neat and fascinating creatures. Bugs aren't gross, they're cool! Bugs aren't nasty, they're neat! It's heartwarming to know a series as big as Pokemon sees insects and arthropods in more or less the same light as I do. Heck, I'm sure you could credit the series to warming up PLENTY of other people to be less squeamish toward bugs. Or at the very least think twice before they go squashing one that's minding its own business.

...That said, I wouldn't say no to them making more gross-looking bugs.

Because the only Bugs in the whole type that just outright aren't my jam are Volbeat and Illumise, and that's it. The rest have just a little tidbit or two that I'd change or do a slight redesigning outright to get em to be up to par with other Bugs. Additional mention to Mega Heracross just because I'd almost rather Mega Heracross was its own, unique Pokemon instead of an alternate form of Heracross.

Weirdest/Most Unique:

Most Inventive Use of the Type:

How many times have I gushed about Shedinja's design throughout this whole review series? It's hard to make “the fact that it's a Bug” a real inventive thing by itself since it's a rather matter-of fact state of being for monsters like this. But these bunch in particular REALLY take advantage of their bughood and really show the designers at Gamefreak did their homework or just in general had some really neat ideas. Araquanid being a reverse of a real-life diving bell spider, a mosquito that sucks blood to increase its FLEXING capabilities, a cockroach that is a self-grooming neat freak just like real cockroaches are. Escavalier and Accelgor lumped together because of their specific interaction reflecting a real-life interaction between a beetle and its snail prey; albeit the ending is a little bit happier for this snail than in real life. Kricketune is a sadly unsung little stroke of minor genius in how a violin beetle gets to actually BE a violinist that plays its own violin body. Kricketune's just overshadowed by its own memey cry, sadly.

The Buggiest of them All:

I'm always perfectly fine with stylized body types when it comes to bugs, but I can also take a moment to appreciate the Bug types that are convincingly insectoid. Plus y’know. It helps when the odd bug type has the correct number of legs.

BUG TYPE WISH LIST:

NOTE: These Type Wishlists were written out before any news on new Pokemon from Sword and Shield. The Pokemon revealed over time will not affect these wishlists. Just to present them unaltered despite spoilers and in the interest of getting the wishlist out there, and to see which items on said wishlists get fulfilled by Sword and Shield!

A Grasshopper/Cricket:

Despite their english names, Kricketot and Kricketune aren't actually crickets, but are actually moreso designed after beetles. So we've still yet to have any true orthoptera species of insect in Pokemon yet!! And that is a CRIME because Grasshoppers and Crickets are criminally underrated just because they're fairly common insects. God I could comprise of list of just some neat orthoptera I like. You could even kill two birds with one stone here by having an inter-species evolutionary line where a cricket evolves into a grasshopper!

Termites:

I'm still bummed Durant's evolutionary path is painfully underwhelming compared to actual ants. Where's like, the Queens?! And big-headed Majors?!? Either an expansion of Durant's current forms or a new set of Termite-mons would be really nice!

A Fly:

How weird is it that we've still yet to get a common house fly?! We technically have Cutiefly, but I'd love to see a more traditional-looking house fly. Or any other number of fly species if you're feeling adventurous!

A More Traditional Mosquito:

Buzzwole is absolute gold and I don't at all mind it, but I'm still feeling a bit of an itch (hah) for a more traditional looking mosquito. My first shot at making a mosquito monster in the form of my own Fakemon was incorporating the aquatic larval form as a scuba-diver that eventually evolves into a water-drinking and squirting big mosquito. MAINLY because I didn't think Gamefreak would ever even slightly elude to blood if they ever made a mosquitomon, yet here we are.

A Wheel Bug/Assassin Bug in general:

I just point out Wheel Bugs because they're easily my favorite kind of assassin bug, distinguished by the big gear-shaped hump on their back. But I'd love any assassin bug, really. Just look at their goofy faces.

A Giraffe Weevil:

I'm sure tons of people have seen pictures of this thing around the internet. And if you still haven't there it is. You will lay your eyes on this stupid thing and you will immediately understand why we needed a Giraffe Weevil Pokemon like, four generations ago.

A Bombardier Beetle:

While it may not look like much of the surface, this beetle is packing a venomous spray that it ejects from its abdomen to ward off predators! We could always use more Bug/Fire types, so why not pick this thing up and a flame-spewing or actual-bomb-chucking beetle!

A Dragonhead Caterpillar:

There is an irritating lack of insectoid dragons in the Pokedex that are actually classified as insects. You passed up DRAGONflies multiple times, guys! So fine, I guess I gotta pull out a more obscure wish; one of these bad boys! The Dragonhead Caterpillar is easily one of the sickest looking caterpillars out there, and totally befitting a Bug/Dragon type as is! The one sad thing about this is, like the antlions, it's another case where something's larval stage is a lot more neat looking than its adult form; for A Dragonhead Caterpillar would eventually become one of these:

...Yeah, while the Plain Nawab is pretty, its significantly less impressive looking than its caterpillar form, huh? Still no reason you couldn't just elect to give us a draconian butterfly while you're also at it! I guess I wouldn't be TOO upset even if an official Pokemon version of this bug wound up with a more fun base stage than its final stage.

Any Wooly Caterpillar:

I don't care which one you pick, a big ol fuzzy caterpillar is something CRIMINALLY missing from Pokemon at the moment!!

A Devil's Flower Mantis:

Mantids are some of the micro-world's coolest monsters. It's a shame then that the three mantid monsters in Pokemon so far are 1. A lizard with some mantis parts on, 2. More of a lobster, and 3. Not actually a mantis. And that sadly the latter means orchid mantids are out. While I'd be overjoyed to see any new mantis Pokemon, I think a Devil's Flower Mantis would be my personal go-to for a new mantis. It's just so god dang WICKED looking!

This Mind-Controlled Snail:

Because this thing has to be demonstrated in gif form to really portray the oddity of what's going on here. Although, the description is on the gross side, so here's a fair warning to skip past if you're squeamish.

This particular species of parasitic flatworm preys on snails. When they're eaten up by these unsuspecting mollusks, they'll soon find themselves getting their brain taken over by the pulsating worms that wriggle inside the snail's now-bloated eyestalks precisely to make the snail more enticing to birds to eat. Not only that, but the parasite also hijacks the snail's brain. Snails normally prefer damp and dark areas where they're relatively well-hidden away from any predators. These parasites force the snail into bright and wide-open areas like the tops of bushes specifically to make it as easy a meal as possible. They multiply in the bird's stomach before beginning the cycle anew when the bird, ahem, “drops” them off.

Obviously there's a lot of parallels to draw here from this and Parasect. But heck to it if I'd say no to a new, freaky mind-controlled hypno-snail. It'd be such a cool effect on an ingame model to see their eyes pulsating in color. You could even go ahead and make it a candidate for our first Bug/Psychic type!

A Stick Bug:

It's not super pressing that one gets in. I just think stick bugs are neat.

A Black Widow:

I know we got Ariados, but something feels missing from the spider roster in that we don't have a traditional creepy crawly-type spider. A Black Widow is about the most stereotypically creepy spider out there, but I'd love to see it for its potential either way.

A Peacock Spider:

One more spider while we're on the subject of spiders. And offset a spooky spider with a cute one! There's all sorts of fun takes to have on a peacock spiders.

A Pelican Spider:

No hold up. Wait a second. One more spider because I had literally discovered this thing as I was writing this very list. Look at this thing. Look at this spider. What the hell. What the actual hell. What is happening. What. I want one now.

APPARENTLY this Pelican Spider is a species of spider that specifically evolved to eat other spiders. Its weirdly long “neck” and extended mandibles are designed to keep its prey at a long length away from itself so they the spiders it catches can't retaliate with their own bites. That's so neat. I could see how you can intemperate that into a gameplay sense; make it specialize in biting moves and have an ability that makes all biting moves no longer make contact. Maybe that's not HUGE but.

A Dobsonfly:

Again, no pressing reason I can think of other than dobsonfly are underrated, and getting a nice Pokemon to go with em would be cool.

Gah, there's probably a good billion or so I could continue to think up but I SUPPOSE it's gotta stop at some point.

ANYWAY, that's the final of the type reviews. Sword and Shield are just two weeks away, believe it or not. It’ll be a while before I’m back into the funk of making reviews. As I’ve said before, I’d like to take a month or two to really absorb all the new Pokemon they have on offer. For a brief little preview-opinion, the new Pokemon are overall pretty dang good so far. There’s already a couple I’ll be excited to talk about, but if preview event-goers are to be believed, there's’ apparently a TON of new Pokemon to look forward to.

ANYWAY Future-talk:

I dunno if I’ll do something in the meantime review-wise. I would go back to look at the recently discovered Beta Pokemon from Red and Green and Gold and Silver, but I feel like I’ve not got a ton to add to that conversation in particular. (Literally the only hot take I can really come up with is the Baby Vulpix is kinda lame)

I MIGHT look into doing character design reviews for some non-Pokemon properties. I felt like it was eventually gonna happen at some point, I’m just not sure about it happening YET given SwSh are so close and once I’m ready for those reviews I’d have to put the non-Pokemon project on hold. Tell me what sorta series y’all would like to hear my thoughts on for character design. My personal biggest candidates are looking at the creatures from the Pikmin series, the various boss characters from all the various Mega Man games, and looking over the Champions from League of Legends, as well as reviewing the monster cards of Yu-Gi-Oh.

Mega Man would probably be the easiest. Robot Masters don’t exactly require deep analysis to critique their designs. (Though that wouldn’t stop me from getting rambly.) It wouldn’t be until the X, Zero, ZX, and Battle Network/Starforce series that the designs get crazy detailed.

YGO and Pikmin would be easy too, the only issue would be figuring out a format for what order to do them in.

League would easily be the hardest to do. Cause being the completionist that I am, I would want to cover EVERYTHING. Old versions of the characters, NEW versions, as well as every single skin. The problem is figuring out an order to put it all in. The easiest would just to do iit in alphabetical order and cover the skins of each champ as we come across them. But I’d ideally like to do everything in chronological order. Start with the first 40 champions and then pan out to cover each one in order of release, skins included. It’s just really difficult to find a consistent timeline on League content, especially for skins. I dunno. That’d be something I’d have to look into.

Either way, no matter what I end up going with, I’ll see you next time!

My Pokemon(Fakemon) Story Idea? (Core Series)

MOD: So the you might be wondering what this post about? Well to tell you and I just wanna let this out. I’m just making just my own Pokemon region base off Coast of America meaning there will be lot of water types (maybe). So I’ll just tell you what it’s about and stuff under this link. (this is my idea and no I didn’t steal anything) (this is a practice and just wanna know how the story goes)

Professor Maple: *webcam is on* WOAH! *fall over and look messy* S-sorry about that kiddo. You scare me for second there. *ahem* My name is Professor Maple and welcome to the world of Pokemon. Pokemon are magical creatures that live on Earth for many years. You can see them in jungle forest, murky swamp, beautiful grasslands, the ocean, and even up in the skies above us.  I study Pokemon natural environments by watching them through cameras making sure their habitats are nice and secured on the Census Region where I take care of wild Pokemon in my lab. Because long ago this region have trouble with the Pokemon population (rarities) back then so I decided to help restore their populations. Now..um..I’m sorry but are you a boy or a girl?.....Well then (player name) I hope to see you very soon at my lab today! And tell your mom I said hi! I’ll see you soon~. *wave goodbye then camera crash seeing slime on screen* AAAH!! GOODRA NOT NOW!!! *webcam off*

You’re starting town is Samara Town. In this town you’re next to a beach where people in your town and your neighbor town go to have fun and relax. You walk downstairs meeting your mom who knows everything upstairs. She know you’re getting your Pokemon to start off your journey by her childhood friend Maple. She is proud how you’re going to start off your journey that she tell you that she use to travel back then with Maple as her rival. She’ll be readying your bag as you walk out to the professor lab which is on top left of the town. When you’re about to enter a Goodra pops out the door with bird like Pokemon flying out the door. The professor walk out slowly looking tired as if she hasn’t slept in days. She see’s you and comes in with a slimy hug covering you in slime. She laugh and is happy to see you’re here just on time.  Both you enter seeing her lab windows open with two trees for Pokemon to climb and rest on as so many wild Pokemon are playing outside as you look out the glass wall. You heard three Pokemon cry as your turn and see nothing but something on your face which felt wet and stuck. You see the light and surprise to see the starter Pokemon.

- Kuttlish “Cuddle Pokemon” (Water) Lv.5 “It show it’s affection to it’s trainer by jumping onto their face and hug them for awhile. They’re also known to change color to camouflage from preys. Their break are strong enough to break the rocky surface of a Geodude.” (Atk/Def/Sp.Def) (Torrent/Suction Cups)

- Vinmodo “Komodo Pokemon” (Grass/Poison) Lv.5 “Their spine like thorns are very sensitive so they don’t like other people touching them. They warn them with a scary hiss. The saliva they have in their mouth are very venomous. One bite will cause the prey to lose muscle movement. This make catching their prey easy.” (Atk/Sp.Atk/Spd) (Overgrow/Poison Touch)

- Puprus “Guard Dog Pokemon” (Fire) Lv.5 “The collar around their neck are very special too them. If the trainer chosen this Pokemon, they will protect it’s master for it’s life.The collar then burns for what name you given to Puprus. It’s jaws are strong enough to rip off the water pipes and chew on it like a bone.” (Atk/Def/Spd) (Blaze/Strong Jaw)

Maple said these Pokemon where never seen before and she has no idea where they come from. They suddenly came to her lab all injured and beaten badly that she help recover them back to health. After that they decided to stay making her thinking that you can take really good care of them. When choosing the starter a sudden door burst open showing a out of breath person who is your rival. (the playable character) Your rival will see that you choose that starter that he/she gonna choose so instead he/she chosen the type advantage starter and ask for permission to battle outside. Your rival step outside then your mom came in seeing you and talk about the person that pass by her. She see you got your starter and gave your bag which is filled with 10 Poke Balls. (she the giving you options on how to catch you can say yes or no since we all know how to do it). Maple then give you the Pokedex (haven’t design it yet). After all that as you went outside, your rival battle begin! Beating your rival will see that the Pokemon she didn’t want to choose is not bad and he/she became liking his/her starter more. Your rival wish you luck and said next time he/she will be stronger than before. When your about to leave you heard a huge cry and a bells ringing. The trainer then felt relieved and so does the Pokemon around the lab feel calm too. You have no idea what that is till your professor came out rushing to see the ringing bell. Turns out she explain it was from a legendary Pokemon that it ring it’s bell across the region to calm the spirits, people, and Pokemon. She also said hearing the bell can bring huge luck to people as well. She then return to the lab and wish you lots of luck on your journey. 

You then make it to Route- 30, seeing two trainers ready to battle and some new Pokemon along the way. (No new Pokemon ideas yet but will be soon or later on) Along the way you made it to South Rim Town which has a Pokemon center/market and have two path leading to routes. Right path leads to Route 31 while the left leads to Dusty Whirl Canyon which is after you have two gym badges. As you go to Route 31 you bump into a very young trainer name Kitz who is being chase and follow by two mysterious people with an “R” logo on their back jacket. One of them say to hand over the kid but Kitz tell you that they lie to her saying they knew the champion but they’re trying to steal her Pokemon. The man shouted to keep her mouth shut and ask you one last time to hand over the kid. You refuse and the man was angry that he challenge you to battle. Beating them makes them even more angry. They retreat for now but they say that they’ll be back and you will regret ruining their hunt. Kitz said that they’re “Team Raptor” who hunt down Pokemon for money and fame. It is illegal in regions to hunt down Pokemon for money or sports since last time this happen a bunch of Bouffalant population were almost out of this region. She thank you for saving her and gave you an “Exp. Share”. As she saw you in battle made her more excited and inspire to become stronger one day so she can one day meet the champion and challenge her. She went back to South Rim Town and you go back to your journey.

You finally made it to Angeles City (Los Angeles)! Your rival saw you and wanna see how much stronger you gotten. After the battle your rival he/she would see how you gotten stronger then with great idea he/she said you should try take on the gym leader that is in this part of the city. You then meet the first gym leader Scrooge (“The Luckiest Man That Ever Live”) who specialize dark type Pokemon. He said he is busy so he ask you to go to his gym and he will be there soon or later. His gym is a quiz game which you must guess tot he trainer how much this item is in the market if guess wrong you battle and must answer the right answer. Once you beat 3 trainer you finally made it to Scrooge who happen to be there the whole time. He never tell you how he got here on time and he hope your lucky enough to beat his dark type team (Lv.10-13) (Sandile, Markrouw, Meowth(aloan) new dark type pokemon). He will use confuse ray and embargo to keep you from attacking and using items in battle and then use sucker punch to gain the speed advantage. (This technique will give trainers a hard time) Once you defeated him he will give you TM# Sucker Punch. He has never been defeated like this before and he is surprised and proud of you trusting your Pokemon when it’s in serious condition and tricky position which he than give you the Token Badge (Pokemon Lv.10-20). He hope he can battle you again to test your luck later on once the building next to him is finish construction. Your rival see that you got the gym leader badge and congratulate you on getting it. He/She will go challenge the gym leader now but the trainer you fought came out unexpected to tell you that Scrooge want to give you a “Battle Coin Case”. There is no explanation except that he’s now out the gym to help out and check on the construction that’s going on making the rival felt down missing the gym leader and must wait till he returns as you continue to the next gym.

You reach to Marshwood Swamp (base of Florida swamp)! This area is just like the mushy water area in Sinnoh Region (Diamond/Pearl) But there are rivers which needed a Pokemon to surf on. Since the swamp water isn’t that deep but will suck you in getting you stuck you decided to go with it. You hear a women voice yelling, “Now get out of me swamp ya filthy varmints!” as you see a group of Team Raptors running away seeing a girl with her (new fakemon) tired out as she whip her sweat off her head. She see you checking if your team is alright from the grunts. She see your fine and introduce herself as Hazel and she’s from Marshwood City. What happen is that the grunts where just hunting a bunch of other Pokemon for money when they are her best friend being tortured. After the conversation you see her swing on the vines that swing her over the river. This made going over the swamp more easily but you may bump into some trainers along the way. As you finally reach to Marshwood City your rival finally catch up to you. He/She complaint about how muddy and how many time he/she got stuck in the mud so much to get here. He/She wish that she would have the rider page but he/she doesn’t know where to get it but then explain what it is (was introduce in Sun/Moon(UltraSun/UltraMoon)). Your rival then go to the Pokemon Center just to rest for awhile from how hard it is to get to you. As you look around town you learn that the people around here live here because this area has very good fertilize dirt that it made farming very easily around here. It also been said that one of the elite four member live here as well as chief of the town and his granddaughter lives here too which she came from another region. As you got to the gym you found out the gym leader is actually Hazel (“Tomboyish Construction Girl”), who specialize Water type Pokemon which made electric type useless due to some of them being half ground type. She surprise to see that you arrive to her gym and she hope that you can handle her team (Lv.15-24) (Shellos (East Sea) and Barboach. They will have advantage too electric type pokemon so it's better to use grass type and watch out for mud-slap and mud bombs to lower the Pokemon accuracy. Beating her will earn you the Vine Badge (Lv.20-38) and will be given a TM# Mud Bomb. After the battle her grandfather name Lumber appeared in front of her gym surprising her.  He wanted to check on how the gym going and seeing you with her gym badge embarrass from her grandpa seeing that she lost. Meeting the trainer tells you if you want to be stronger with your Pokemon you could try Route 33 which lead o Everest City and to the restricted Area 51. It’s also full of rare Pokemon as well. Before you leave your rival came to fight you again. When you defeated him/her both you and your rival are given a “Rider Page” by Lumber. Since he heard some people are having trouble with the swamp lately he decided to give you the device that also hold the “Quagsire Swamp” rider page that can help . He also tell the story that Hazel have a Pokemon that she love so much before becoming gym leader. He know that a couple of Team Raptor was just hear today till Hazel kick them out of the swamp he know that might happen because she hate what Team Raptor when they took her Mudkip long time ago which is a gift for her when he went to the Hoenn Region to help do constructions in the forests. So he wants your help to help find her Mudkip for him because she just want her Mudkip back so much as they’ve created a great bond with each other. As you accept the request he thanks you and went off the road.

Feeling more Thoughts for my miscellaneous pokemon gijinka ocs! Man i really should someday talk about the ones i made as a teen. I started getting really attatched to my mons in sinnoh and then i tried to be Detatched And Cool for the next few generations and alola was the first time i got all gijinka madness again. NOW I WILL NEVER LOOK BACK!!!!

Anyway, today we're talking aboyt Gaspar the gengar aka one of my biggest comfort characters from that childhood gijinkaverse, who i decided to age up into a Cool Dad and bring back in a new story because I Love Him And You All Need To Love Him Too

I was thinking more about Chilliam aka The New Oc Made Entirely To Be A Son For Dad. Not sure anymore if i wanna make him a shiny gastly or maybe a different kind of ghost, or even a new fakemon or something? Cos well he was named that cos shiny gastly looks like an ice ghost but it isnt actually an ice ghost. Ans the only ice ghosr is female only for some dumb reason and its also a very complicated final evolution design which doesnt seem to fit well for a kiddy ghost. Maybe i should doodle some smol icy spoops? I dont really have much of an idea tho except like a snowball version of gastly

Alternative idea is maybe have him as a gijinka of a psychic type pokemon? Cos that could theoretically also be an opportunity to have him be a gijinka pokemon who was once a human. In the gijinkaverse thats obvioysly rare cos the whole point is that theyre pokemon who turn into humans. So blablabla you could maybe justify keeping his plot with a psychic type mon cos psychic humans exist in pokemon and itd make sense to just have a human with psychic powers that are like based around a certain pokemon. I thought that would be a neat idea for how it works? Like Sabrina's psychic powers involve using spoons like Kadabra and Caitlyn from the elute four has all that sleep themed aesthetic and a psychic aura the same colour as munna. Alternative idea: the kid is in a coma and astral projecting using his psychic powers which is why Gaspar mistakes him for a fellow pokemon.

But i dunno i just like the idea of ghosts!! I think it would be cool if ghosts were pokemon! Like its infinately more neato to rise from the grave as a monster than as a boring translucent copy of yourself whos exactly the same. And theres so many cool ghostie monster designs in pokemon, from cute to cool to legitimately scary! Who wouldnt wanna spend an afterlife as a gengar!!!! HEAVEN IS GENG

Oh and also i thought up maybe a supporting character who'd be Chilliam's best friend from his old life who he meets again and tearfully reunites with. I havent decided their gender yet but ive sketched up some designs that sorta accidentally looked like a hoothoot gijinka? Which probably isnt really gonna work cos the whole point of the character was being a normal human school friend and all. Itd be funny if they just totally coincidentally look like a gijinka and gaspar is like "dammit am i the only one here who aint human????" Or i dunno maybe this person actually is a hoothoot and they where human-chilliam's starter pokemon and its just like he can see other pokemon as humans now and talk to them since he's dead. Or somehow hoothoot friend did some epic quest to gain the gijinka powers out of sheer friendship, i dunno! But i think there'sa lot more plot potential in having a normal human friend who really has no powers to fight any of the villains but theyre still a total badass who'sdetermined to protect their best friend now they finally got him back. Im picturing a lil hermione-looking nerd with big round glasses smacking a giant gyarados with a tennis racket and chilliam is in the background all wow heart eyes! Cos seriously from the friend's perspective they had no idea why he suddenly vanished someday and they tried to be optimistic and believe the obvious lie that he "just moved away", when they knew his dad was abusive and all. Maybe had the hope that his dad lost custody and he got taken in by a better family member? Really goddamn depressing to find out that all the worries were true and he did indeed die. But when you're hearing that literally from his mouth while he's standing right in front of you its kinda hard to process what the fuck is going on! WHY ARE YOU SEE THROUGH!!! So i imagine there was a lot of fainting and a slight bit of crying but then absolute mushy joy at being reunited again, and promises to never let go!

So uhh yeah thats how i gave ghost kid a love interest i guess??? I just get the feel that maybe there was an unconfessed confession back when he was alive. And i dunno if he'll ever say it but i think even if they just remain friends forever they still have a strong mutual admiration going on. Nerdy friend looks up to chilliam as this sort of cool guy who always stands up for them and chilliam honestly feels the same way about them, and theyre both like NO I AM TERRIBLE U R THE GOOD GOOD! And then they need to hug muchly. Also hello meet my new ghost dad! Meanwhile this entire time gaspar has been beating up his bio dad after hearing the whole backstory thing. Pauses briefly mid punch to say hi, then continues.

I should be in bed. Instead I stayed up an additional 3 hours to recreate my Tandor trainer card I had made long ago and apparently lost after I A. Deleted my DA account and B. Had my portable hard drive stolen in college. It was really cool. The creator of Pokemon Uranium even gave me their blessing to make it all those years ago.

And then I thought you know what? Let's go really extra with it. Oh, and a team shot, oh and make a better trainer sprite than back then

And like 3 and a half hours later I'm here. It's 6 am.

Anyway some obligatory stuff: I did not make the fakemon sprites or the balls seen here, these are found within Uranium's game files. The card itself is made from a template I made a long time ago using assets from the official games. However, i did do a fair bit of editing on my grid background to get the colors and pop out honeycomb thing.

My goal for remaking the card was to honor the memory of what was lost while also bringing it to the future. And I wanted to make the card match the radioactive stuff Uranium has

Currently I'm at the 6th badge area, but my team is basically the same as back then. I know nothing about gym 8 and beyond yet, and I'm still finding new stuff to get excited about.

Anyway obligatory self insert bio: we'll say this me accidentally did a little trip through dimensions thanks to some Xenoverse shenanigans and accidentally found himself in Tandor for a bit. He got a new do and of course he decided to spazz out and do another regional challenge, but little did he know that he would have to babysit a little kid, and survive a few nuclear meltdowns. Pretty sure he shouldn't be alive after all the radiation exposure he's had, but hey, it's in the story sooo. I like to imagine that he doesn't take his "rivalry" with Theo seriously in any sense and keeps forgetting the kid's name.

Team:

Archilles, Fire/Ground: Our starter obtained through a quiz from Bambo'o. At first he had to carry us through almost the second gym, and even now he's a reliable backup when all else fails. He's a bit of a nippy fella and keeps trying to playfully bite the hand that feeds him. He evolved very conveniently when we were about to get offed by a Nuclear Pokémon in an abandoned Plant.

Eshouten, Normal/Flying: she's a flying owl cat. We caught her as an Owlten and even though she's a little bit rougher looking, we still love this goober and how incredibly useful and reliable she is. However she has all the same habits of a playful cat, and this one has wings, so you can imagine the stress that might cause

Baariette, Dark/Fighting: got him in a trade for a Fortog. He's an incredibly fast grower and reliable in a pinch. He is a bit of a dirty fighter though, and a bit if a tsundere type in personality. But he does enjoy praise and companionship, even if he tries to hide it.

Gellen, Electric/Grass: oh man, I remember playing the game with my friends back years ago and this was our BABY. Appropriate since he is literally a baby hatched from an egg. Very powerful and reliable, but a little bit dimwitted. Gellen doesn't know his own size and still thinks he's a baby

Glavinug, Water/Ice: this is probably my favorite design in the dex and actually made me choose to get the fire or grass starter when I saw it initially. It's also designed by one of my favorite fakemon artists, Pequedark-Velvet. Another one of the babies that quickly grew to a badass monstrosity. She was fished up from Route 8, and is a sweet fella that wants attention all the time. I don't think she realizes just how lucky she is to have avoided a certain story event due to us catching her

Nucleon, Nuclear type: one of the few non feral Nuclear types. Nuclear is basically the glass cannon type that is weak to and strong against almost everything other than Steel. When I saw that there was an eeveelution with the typing, I knew I needed it. I just got it in my new playthrough, but in my original it was amazingly powerful, especially with Atomized Hyper Voice that just WRECKED everything. The third babey. I like to imagine she's like my dog, a sweet shy girl that likes many naps.

I haven't been this excited about a game or sprites in a while. I was in a big creative rut but I think finally picking up the full game really helped me out of it. A big thank you to everyone involved with Uranium, you guys really paved the way for how creative fan games could get and set a standard for others to follow. Read it before requesting

As for my little celebrating of being Pokémon fan since 20 years (sorry for being too sentimental), I want to take free requests for Pokémon arts. I have too many my own ideas for arts (but mostly Miraculous ones), including redesigning and drawing some fakemons I have designed when I was a kid and teen, but I also want to draw some Pokémon for you. Most probably they will be done as traditional watercolor paintings (at least some of them), because I want to try that technique and it could be great opportunity for that (especially because many other things like fakemons I prefer to do digitally).

But take into account that I don't accept Galar Pokémon because I haven't played Sword/Shield yet (as I still don't have money for a Switch) and I prefer avoiding spoilers. Although If you really want I could accept those who were introduced in early trailers, like first stages of the starters. Even so I prefer Pokémon from generations 1-7. But I could do fakemons if you want, no matter if yours or other people, especially those from romhacks or fan games. I like playing fakemon games, so there's a chance I know them.

For this announcement I decided to make an art for the most important Pokémon during my youth. It was supposed to be a very simple doodle, but I couldn't help myself to not did it as my usual digital paining. Even so I don't like it too much, I know there's something off and I didn't want to spend too much time improving it. I have done a sketch of different art with Chikorita and Squirtle months ago and I'm planning to draw it better.

Let’s Talk About Pokemon - Gen 1′s Eeveelutions

133: Eevee

I decided to cover these Pokemon in a purist Pokedex order because I'm just far too anal-retentive to do it out of order. But also because this damn Eevee page would've taken entirely too long.

Oh boy, Eevee. A Pokemon that's notorious, to say the least about it. Responsible for creating probably the biggest sub-fandom in all of Pokemon, and also the biggest candidate for getting Fakemon evolutions drawn of it. Not that you can blame the fandom, Eevee's a pretty basic animal and its little evolution gimmick lends itself to getting that sort of treatment. My relationship with Eevee's been an up and down one. First, I was alright with it. Then, I loved it like everybody and their grandmother did in the mid-2000s. It was totally my favorite at the time. Then I hated it because hating Eevee is what the cool kids did or something. Also, I was probably a hipster. Now I'm fond of it again. Though, nowhere near the intense amount of feelings as a lot of other Eevee fans.

But more about Eevee itself. While it's not anything mind-blowing or spectacular, Eevee's still a gigantic cutie. One of those Pokemon I'd totally have as a pet. It's a simple fox-like creature (and you know how I am about foxes) with a fluffy mane. The mane manages to be enough to prompt some creative use when it comes to building some evolutions off of Eevee. (Unless you're Gen 2-onwards, where you opt not to have a mane at all for some stupid reason.)

Personal Score: 7.5/10

It's not amazing, but it's still a very “me” Pokemon.

But as you're probably very well aware, Eevee's a special Pokemon that comes with an evolutionary gimmick. At the time, Eevee was the only Pokemon to ever have a split evolution path. These days we take that for granted. At least Eevee's still the master, having 8 Frigging Possible Evolutions. But for now, we're just going to cover the first three.

134: Vaporeon

Vaporeon used to be pretty far down there on my “tier list” of Eeveelutions. Now, it's been promoted to be more on the upside. It's arguably the most adventurous designs for an Eeveelution, giving a canid fish-like features, like the fin-ears and neck frill, complete with a little mermaid tail. It's a set of features you would expect to look a little messy on a dog body but actually flows fairly nicely. A little front-heavy with the details but very nice.

Curiously, Vaporeon is also capable of melting and turning into water. Not what I had in mind for slime-mons, but sure, I'll take it. It's like some kind of Sog Dog.

I think younger-me might've been put off by Vaporeon because it's one of the harder Eeveelutions to draw. Or something like that. Seeing lovely fanart of it also helps.

Personal Score: 8.5/10

Very solid Eevee. Very nice. The soggiest of dogs.

135: Jolteon

Jolteon, hate to say it, has been down there and still kind of is down there. I still like it, just not as much as the others. Spiky is about the easiest way to convey the Electric type, but that's most of what Jolteon has. Needless to say, I don't think you could cuddle with a Jolteon the same way you could with your pet dog.

That said, Jolteon fills the niche of “the cooler Eeveelution” fairly nicely, and no other Eevee intrudes on. It's cool enough in its own right. A Zap Pap.

136: Flareon

Flareon though, of the original trio, has always been my favorite. Heck, it's among my top favorite Pokemon out there! As I'm sure that surprises nobody that's known me for any length of time. I love foxes and I love fluffy things, so Flareon is right the hell up my alley. Its design is simple and perhaps plays it safe, but I love it anyway. It just looks warm, and it's cool that it can convey that it's a fire type without actually being on fire. Its bushy tail and little cowlick just evoke flames. That's pretty neat. They're playing with my love of redish colors with yellow too. Can't complain.

It's one of the Eeveelutions that are more fun to draw too. I would draw overly fluffy Flareons as a full-time job if I could. Maximum fluff. Fluff Pup.

Personal Score: 10/10

Been a while since the last 10/10 ranking and it’s a selfish as heck 10/10 but. Everything about Flareon I love. I fully concede my tastes are fully cemented in the conventionally attractive. But dammit. It's so fluffy!!!

Overall:

These batch of Eeveelutions are a great start to the Eevee Legacy, all things considered. From here on out, it's mostly mixed feelings about the Eeveelutions. But, more about them once we get to them.
