Sometimes “drama” is not actually drama. Sometimes it’s marginalized and abused people taking a stance against something harmful. The other side of that calls it “drama” and really wants you to see it as just “drama” so they can discredit the position of the marginalized and abused and make those people look like they are overreacting, when in actuality the marginalized and abused people are being reasonably defensive in the interest of their own safety and the safety of others like them. Nothing is ever just “drama” when it involves discussions of legitimate bigotry and human rights, and calling it such is a take I see almost exclusively from white people with some form of privilege. Just some food for thought.

#ndr #not dog related #hello new people if you don't want to see stuff like this please follow those two tags #dogbook discourse #also something isn't drama just because you don't know details about it either #if you see something about a situation you are not involved in please don't be like 'ooh drama what am I missing'#or 'ooh drama I'm so out of the loop'#because that literally just helps the other side when it comes to serious issues like this in stealing the voices of the marginalized #and making them out to be overreactive drama starters when they are actually fighting for their rights and safety #if you don't know about it? just ignore it and move on #and don't voice an opinion without the actual details #this is not a vague post this time I'm just over legitimate issues being labeled as drama and treated as tea in general #especially when those issues are actively hurting people and making a space unsafe #just musing because I know this is going to happen and it's only a matter of time #and the trans and queer people involved will be the ones framed as being overdramatic for having boundaries #which is an ABUSE TACTIC #one that jessica has been using for at least a year now #so I won't be surprised
