#the thing 1982#txt#the thing movie#the thing john carpenter#john carpetner's the thing#this isnt even to reccomend the series i barely remember what happened#but its main gimmick--that there are different versions of yourself that wanna kill you and are kinda like demons--would be REAL scary#in a remote setting like the thing#and while its obvious that someones an alternate there's pretty much no way to defeat them as they induce so much negative thought into the#real version that the real person commits suicide#suicide mention in tags#overall scary stuff i think the outpost would be so screwed against the threat of it
