Godzilla vs King Kong theory
We know Titans are a natural part of the ecosystem
we know Gidorah came along time ago
we know that Mutos are a normal earth Titan
we know that godzilla wasnt the only one of his kind
we know that King kong wasnt the only one of his kind
we know that Godzilla has the titans under his control and that they are indeed a natural part of the world
we know after King of the Monsters that the some of the titans are migrating to Skull island for some reason
We know that Godzilla, though the best fighter still relies on the other Titans and that them going against him is a bit of an anomaly, and despite being an alien that Gidora, as an alien titan was capable of usurping that.
(keep in mind i havent actually watched any of the movies. i dont enjoy seeing humans slaughtered or eaten alive, didnt know Godzilla was good and now its not on netflix and havent seen Godzilla 2 yet.got most of my info from youtubers and tv tropes so i could be missing something)
theory: Primeval earth used a delicate balance of titans. however this included non harmonious species, parasitic ones, such as the Muto and skullcrawlers. Just as how there were large dinosaurs and small ones there were large kaji and small ones (the skull crawlers). despite being parasitic (in the case of MUTO) and ravenous (skull crawlers) they were kept in check by the other alphas and predators of the Titans. A primary threat were the Skull crawlers who came from inside the earth, however do to their normally small size, even the largest was barely a threat to the average Titan, so they remained in the earth feeding off scraps, never causing to much trouble lest they gain the attention of the native Kongs or worse, one of Godzilla’s species
Long ago, maybe what killed the dinosaurs, was Gidorah’s apperance. the Kaiju are powerful however they have no technology to communicate. Godzilla’s species  seem fairly solitary and regardless the bigger creatures are the less they breed, its possible that while they were a full species, the planet only had a few dozen or even hundred at most. Given that even the mighty godzilla had to have help one can imagine how a sudden attack by an alien as powerful as Ghidorah would have resulted in a huge population drop, with it going across the planet killing multiple of godzilla’s species in one on one combat before the rest even knew what was happening. whats worse is that it probably sped up this process by getting any other titans to follow it....consider the Muto Prime . Consider where the muto’s egg was found.
Yes i think the Muto were a minor parasitic species who didnt have the opportunity to breed that often . maybe with so much radiation from all the titans they didnt need to parasite off one. But i think the Muto prime capitalized off Ghidorah’s hunt and used the corpses of killed Zilla’s as incubators. However, after the slaughter the youngest zilla, got the other Titans, namely Mothera, to make a concerted effort to kill Ghidorah. fighting more than one titan at a time for the first time Ghidorah was defeated if not killed. possibly with Mothra’s powers lulling him to sleep where he froze in antartica
With the godzilla species all but extinct, the Muto prime in hiding, and the eggs that would hatch in the Godzilla movie growing, and later dorment in the corpse of a zilla;the world required the surviving zilla’s near constant presence. which may have led to zilla coercing the other titans to hybernate.
but one problem remained, the skullcrawlers. with the earths police force, the zillas out of comission it was left to the native kongs to defend against incursions. this gives what i would call the Skullcrawler Prime millions of years to gather up brood and then send them to the surface in large attack waves, decimating the kong species. they wittled down the population over millions of years, allowing each generation to forget the threat and then attacking when their population was far enough.
we know the population wasnt fully destroyed till kongs parents were killed . so allegedly that attack happened in the last 100 years.
we also know this last attack wouldnt have been stopped if it wasnt for kong and humans working together
we also know from king of hte monsters that humans are their own titan, thus a natural part of the system and equals with the other titans.
thus yet again fulfilling the  “titans can overcome anything if they work together” motif
So the exit the skull crawlers have been wittling away at is down to 1 defender from an entire population, and they would have succeeded this time if it wasnt for human interference.
So the alleged skullcrawler prime knows it just needs one more push to freedom
in Godzilla humans unearthed the muto eggs. they immediately got to breeding and attacking, drawing the attention of Godzilla. however these were fresh hatched, they were not born until recently. unlike the Muto at the end of Godzilla 2 who probably has been subserviant to Godzilla since its Primes first rebellion alongside Ghidorah millions of years ago. IT knew better than to start slaughtering Titans(which includes humans, we know now) and using their radiation to breed. but the fresh hatchlings didnt, they were working off instinct. So while the Muto are parasitic they are intelligent enough for ones like that lone muto to learn when its a bad time to go breed happy. (which isnt much of an issue for immortal creatures)
in the Godzilla comic the Muto Prime rises again to try to kill Godzilla. possibly because after it almost died to a few baby muto that it thought this was its one chance to kill Godzilla, ironically missing out on Ghidorah’s rebellion a few years later
Now after King of the Monsters Ghidorah is defeated, Godzilla has an army now. I think being put back into his role as alpha that he senses the Skullcrawlers under Skull island, possibly even having seen some in his tunnels.
I think whats going to happen is that he’s going to try to stop the skullcrawlwer invasion himself. come across Kong whos been defending it as his home, being the unwitting gatekeeper to the skullcrawler threat. Godzilla will seem like an invader, and Kong will seem like a rebel (after it injures or even kills another Titan who is there to help Godzilla defeat the cralwers) and they will fight, and the Skull Crawler Prime will take that chance to try to get free from Skull Island along with its brood, making the intelligent enough to team up with an enemy Kong, and the “i only care about threats, willing to stop fighting potential allies” Godzilla allies in their fight against the Crawlers. and possibly a Very Large Skullcrawler Prime
