[ Ignore Me I’m Having A Morning And I Need To Scream ]
[ SO my mother informed me that she was leaving to go up to see the builders (which is a scheduled appointment time, by the way) at 8:30. So I set an alarm for 8am, like an adult, and I hauled my miserable ass out of bed and set out to camp out on the sofa to puppysit because my mom likes to leave early for this stuff. Takes me a minute to get up and get my laptop and stuff for the day, so I'm sitting out there at 8:10 at the latest. I see and no dog, and no parents.
At 8:15ish, I realize that there is no dog or parents in the house, because they have gone to the property to take pictures of the foundation. At 8:20, I decide, "hey, I gotta put gas in my car at some point today. I'll do it while they're out so I don't have to do it later when I have the toddler." Because Radar is such a good girl but my car does not have Safety Measures to keep her in the back seat like my mom's does, so I don't like opening and closing the door too many times with her in there.
SO I put on real human clothes and go out into the TUNDRA to drive forty-eight seconds up the road, walk into the gas station and hand the attendant just enough cash to make my gas light go off, put seven dollars of gas in my car, still in the fucking ARCTIC, and then drive another minute-ish back home, where I see that my parents are back. Oh! Okay! I will go inside and change so they can leave! I feel bad that they're probably waiting for me.
Spoiler alert: they are not waiting for me.
I hear the most vague suggestion of noise upstairs, so that must be where they are with the dog, though it strikes me as odd that there is no dog noises when I come in, because she can hear your car door close a half mile away. I change, then decide, fuck it, breakfast! and make some food. I'm back on the couch at 8:40, wondering why my parents aren't like... ready to go.
At 9:00 AM, having already been awake for an entire hour and exposed myself to the less than ideal conditions that come with March in southeastern New York, (which is of course weather that I have dealt with for my entire life yet I, like my ancestors before me and those around me who have taught me their ways, will continue to complain about how cold it is until it becomes warm, then will complain about it being hot), my mother informs me that they dropped the dog off at Grandma's an hour ago. And I can go back to my nice warm, dark bedroom til about 1pm.
Never be proactive kids. It fucks your whole entire day up. ]
