Things In Newsies Live I Think About A Lot #2

During 'Carrying The Banner' you can see the newsies jumping around, playing with eachother etc, etc. One of my favourite examples was that if you look in the background, you can see a line of newsies all chasing after eachother before they all move towards the front of the stage to dance.

(I know this isn't the greatest picture of it, but it'll have to do.)

I'm not sure why this has stuck with me as long as it has, but something about this specific part is just so memorable to me.

I don't really know why, but this scene in particular has always sort of been a pretty big reminder at how young the newsies truly were. Like, this is a fairly fast paced scene with plently of movement and energy, and who do you normally associate with high levels of energy? Children.

And in life the majority of these newsies would have been 10-13 years of age. Kid Blink (strike leader and inspiration for Jack Kelly in the musical) was only ~16 years old, and he would have been a lot older than many other newsboys and newgirls in his time.

This might be a strange take on the scene, but it has been gnawing on the inside of my brain for ages, so now you all get to hear about it too.

I'm rereading DPDF and just got to Ixchel and Solas' first time together, and I drew a shaky sketch on the bus this morning and then dared to try and make it real in s fugue state tonight.

Forever fighting my screens to show full saturations--I'm working with like, neon colors at all times on my monitor and they're washed out on every other screen so idk.

So I just finished Jay's chapter, and once he took her to the altar, I thought witchcraft? I think it's something a bit more sinister. When I read Heeseung's spoiler and he said you still don't know who we are and I immediately thought of the four horseman of the apocalypse lol because it's four and idk why I thought that but maybe they're angels or atleast Jay was but they're all demons. I'm so curious and need to go read the other theories. I'm so scared for us to meet and talk to Heeseung. It's ironic that she felt drawn to him but hesitant because of the eerie weird vibes from him, and he seemed like he didn't want their secret getting out, so what did he expect? Of course, he'd be one of the last ones. I'd keep my distance too besides preparing meals and moving them to different parts of the mansion. Idk I'm rambling now, and I apologize. My mind is just all over the place. The smut scene with Jongseong was super hot. So is he gonna make her a doll, too? Or idk how to say what I mean. This series is top tier!

i love reading all the theories! i will say originally i was going to make soonyeol a witch but it just didn't fit w the story or whatever

a lot of people think bc jongseong burned her panties it was a way to make her a doll but really it was just to call hell (he doesn't have the ability to take souls *wink wonk*)

this is going to sound cheesy and dumb and fucking stupid but every single time ive read trc before this ive been like. melancholic and constantly feel as if im missing out on something because i didn't have friends like they did (i didn't even have friends lets be real) and i was so sad about it and it made me hate reading it even though i couldn't stop. but now years later im reading it and it's like yeah i can relate to this. im in love with my friends i love my friends and i have friends who love me and we can laugh and joke and do fun little shenanigans together you know like. it's so good and it's so insane
