this week had most probably been the worst week of your life, and you had endured quite a bit in your fifteen years of living in brockton.

the week had started out normally, with the exception of your boyfriend wayne not waiting for you out side you house- if you could even call it that- however you had brushed it off as maybe he woken up late or was feeling ill. when you did see wayne at school though, he was halfway through breaking some assholes nose. he seemed his usual self. the day had only gotten worse from there, you’d tried to talk to him multiple times during the day but was constantly pushed away with blunt replies. deposits the sudden change in his attitude towards you, you tried to brush it off as maybe something personal that he just didn’t want to get into with you.

tuesday to friday was exactly the same. in fact, by wednesday you’d stopped trying to communicate with him as each time you’d be left with a fave flushes red with embarrassment that you’re boyfriend was blowing you off constantly and anger as you didn’t know what you did wrong.

however saturday was ‘the day for change’ you told yourself. skipping all the bullshit, you decided that you were gonna march to his house and ask him what was up between the two of you. and so you did. by mid afternoon you were approaching his house and ( after talking yourself out of it multiple times) knocked on the door rapidly.

you heard clattering and swearing for inside the house and moments later a slouched figure opened the door.

‘hey. what are you doing here.’

‘shut up!’ you exclaimed, the bottled anger inside of you was already trying to make an escape.

‘what?’

‘’what?’ is that all you have to fuckin’ say for yourself wayne? you’ve hardly spoke to me for the whole week- had me up at night thinkin’ ‘what have i done? what have i done to upset him so much he’s not speaking to me?’ which i still don’t know the answer to and is the reason i’m here. because i don’t wanna lose you! because i love you, with all my being, and i don’t wanna lose you.’

he stared at me, his mouth hanging open and his eyes bulging out of his face. almost as if he was shocked at what i just said, maybe he was.

‘no! tha- that’s not what i meant to do. it was just, i was talking to orlando the other week and he told me that most girls don’t like clingy, they like it when there boyfriends aren’t with them 24/7. so i thought i would try and give you some space as well.’

i snickered,

‘what? why are you laughing’

‘because we’ve been best friends for almost 6 years! and we’ve always been together 24/7. just because your my boyfriend now doesn’t mean you not my bestfriend still, and i love you being clingy, it’s cute.’

‘don’t call me cute!’ i grabbed his hand and ran down the street, by the time we got to the end of the road we were both panting hard.

‘wanna go throw bricks in assholes’ windows?’ he asked looking at me smiling. thank god i didn’t lose him.

wayne & del in the future

they would still live in brockton, del would run for mayor and do her best to keep up with that shit hole town while wayne would work at a perfume shop to pay for his studies (he wants to become an author and write adventure stories). in the mornings, del would make sure to get herself some coffee, and hot chocolate for wayne. they would still go on small roadtrips together and go to the beach while wearing pants, cause wayne never wears shorts. she would wear her favorite bikini and he would stay on the beach just to look at her trying to do hand stands in the water. sometimes they would visit trish & jenny and go eat pizza together. del would always eat the mushrooms on wayne’s pizza, he still hated them. when they were done they would sometimes go to the library and read super hero comics and she would recommend him some books to read cause he’s a dummy or whatever.
