Thinking about Thor from KHDR. His death scene fucked me up. I can't believe they had a mercy kill in our Disney game. This kid was so genuinely good and cared so much about Baldr and all the others and it fucks me up that of all the people he killed, Thor was the one person Baldr killed with no malice. Thor died thinking Baldr would help the others get to safety and Baldr let him. God. I'm going insane over them

So, who *is* Thor?

In short, he’s a Dark Road OC collaboratively created by members of the Daybreak ad Caelum server! (We’re also working on a Loki!)

We saw this post going around earlier about inventing a new mobile game character as a fandom joke, and started talking about the idea together. Many people came together with ideas and talked through them, and what we’ve settled on is Thor as he is now! His appearance comes from a Baldr design made by serenedash, his name was suggested by psianabel, his sprite was made by rosie-kairi, and many others in the server have contributed to his backstory. I set up a document to keep all of the information together once we had established everything, and others have gone onto creating art and writing featuring him as a result of this!

Thor could be said to be a collective OC for the whole fandom. No one person owns him, so anyone could make content for him if they wanted to! However, it’s important to tag anything relating to him as if he were a canon character as unreality, given that he isn’t actually a part of the game!

Baldr & Thor - a light conversation

"Say-" Baldr breaks the silence as he hugs his knees tighter to his chest. "why do you want to become a keyblade master?" 

His attention drawn to the book in his lap, Thor hums and places a finger at the sentence he last read. The wind blows gently on this sunny late summer afternoon, and the tree they are sitting under provides just enough shadow for them to enjoy this temperature. 

A quick thought runs through his head, as he swore Baldr had asked him this before. Yet anyways he turns his head to look at Baldr on his side, a smile on his face.

"To keep light alive, of course. I want to protect the world from the looming darkness." 

Of course. Baldr watches his bright expression, his explanation making very much sense to him - being Odin's eventual heir, the burden must weigh heavy on him. He knows he needs to perform well, but one simple look is enough for Baldr to know that Thor is very much on the right path there.

"I know I can't do this alone!" Thor continues, turning his hand into a fist as he lays it over his chest. "But I know I will always have your back. I have you, Xehanort, Eraqus, the others - together we can overcome everything." 

Baldr finally returns his smile, copying his bright expression as they both end up chuckling. 

"Cheesy. You never know what will happen." 

"Yeah…" Thor sighs and finally closes his book. "But one can dream, right? I always want to be on your side."

He feels Thor's eyes burning on him, his light bright, and yet - 

There isn't any malice in these words, he really means it. Baldr is hesitant in his answer, suddenly feeling slightly short of breath as Thor inches closer, their shoulders touching in the process. 

"I really appreciate that." Baldr eventually manages to say. 

He closes his eyes as silence overcomes them once again, the book Thor has lying in his lap long forgotten now. Maybe for once he can enjoy time together with a person who isn't his sister, all other thoughts pushed away.

You know, nobody talks enough about Thor's brotherly relationship with Helgi and HONESTLY IM SO MAD ABOUT IT!

Their relationship is so wholesome and one of the only scenes we ever get of Helgi actually speaking *and* one of the only scenes of true friendship between the underclassmen and upperclassmen.

That's not fair at all.

They're just guys being dudes.

Dudes being bros.

And Heimdall is there.

Now that we FINALLY have a high quality sprite of Thor (courtesy to @rosie-kairi ) I can finally officially preview my Kingdom Hearts Dark Road summary project!

The goal of this PPT is to precisely summarize all relevant information in regards to this game's story, concepts and characters! I have been working very hard on it and I am super excited to finally finish this sometime in the (near) future.

Part of this project will be character infographs which will be posted separately as well so be excited for when that comes out too!

A young man with a fairly sturdy head on his shoulders and broad views on many of the rules of the universe. While meaning well with many of his actions, his devotion to heroism gets him into a lot of trouble, sometimes even causing more harm than good.

had a dream about khml but not in the sense that like new information was revealed more like in the sense that not only did i convince myself that it was real but that it had always been a thing we’d known for a long time. like i had a dream there were straight up political executions in there or at least an offscreen implied type of thing. there is a girl character who exists only in my mind who bravely helps the player but then is arrested and implied to have been hanged to death because disney can do anything they want these days. in my dream i seriously thought she was a real thing and had always known her. i can see her in my mind
