So...

just now I saw a post saying yall have a hard time maintaining dominance with black women and being openly emotional with us so you just cant see yourself dating us.....

but what bothered me was, 

the notes where mostly from people who spend all day lusting after us. 

so what you saying is.....we only acceptable as long as we visually pleasing to you and silent? 

since when is it impossible to express emotions to the group who has yo back in almost every situation? 

even when we get constantly thrown under the bus and our suffering goes undefended. 

even when we get called bitter or angry for standing up for ourselves.

even when we have every reason to be aggressive because in other races an aggressive woman is celebrated, as if she's some kind of super woman for standing up for herself 

but now all of a sudden you can’t express yourself? 

oh ok.

What if

instead of planning to go to nursing school and all this hospital/medical shit, I decided to travel around the world in search of my soul. I’m thinking, hit a bunch of counties in Latin America, Asia, and Africa (although I’m pretty terrified of going alone). Find the soul I’m soooo disconnected from by learning music from a bunch of different places. Bring that shit back here and make an EP ~ even though I have basically zero experience in production and can’t sing for shit. I could learn how to dance though... damn I’d be so in shape.

                              I’m Finally Doing it!!!

Ok so i’ve been on tumblr since 2013 as “thoughtsofablackgirl” I shared one of my biggest goals with you guys and guest what? I’m finally doing! I took a break from tumblr to focus on school and work but, I kept up with the instagram. I did my research , saved up and now i’m here February 2018 a week a away from launching an online platform dedicated to young black women everywhere! Moving to the U.S has made me realize a lot of things, one being the lack of positive representation of young black women. Not just the celebrities but the everyday black girl/women who are breaking barriers in their field, community and the world. I want to hear about them, I want other girls to know about them, know that you can get there, I want to incorporate mentorship though this platform, I I want to create thought provoking discussions about our health, love, lifestyle, beauty, finance, guilty pleasures and many more.I met a woman through Facebook and end up interning for her, she’s from Haiti just like me and holds an MBA! She’s started her company through community projects, before that she was working as a Senior Analyst for a major resort. Interning for her have been such a wonderful and amazing experience! Not just as a business student but, as a business student from the same background as her, seeing how she have moved here and made a way and build a respectable brand for herself gives me so much hope and motivation.  Anyways I want to present to you guys  The Modern Black Girl or www.modernblackgirl.com.

I remember when my mom would alway bring race up and say that white people would never change. I thought she was crazy because why the hell would MY generation still be racist? They have no reason to be. It’s not like they were raised with black slaves.
