got really interested in the serpents hand a few days ago (FINALLY) so heres stuff about my serpents hand scp au !

a few basic stuff:

the serpent's hand is actually REALLY chill lol, they mostly just meet up to talk smack about the foundation and make plans or to just celebrate stuff like the sabbats (yes, pagan theme !)

the wanderer's library is an extension of the hand ! they came up with the library to keep stuff on anomalies and also try to spread them to the public !

in the hand, they teach you magick and stealth skills ! (These are from i didnt forget pt. 10: serpents hand !) and yes they ARE patient with newbies in the hand lol

the 'serpent' is actually a theophanous/visible to the eye deity! The serpent shares a body/vessel with the current SH leader !

the wanderers library is a place where you cant just easily/normalyl go to ! you can visit the library during specific moon phases and if you manage to find the entrance to it! this doesnt apply to people just wandering around though, sometimes they can just get into the library totally on accident

some members CAN also be undercover in the foundation as long as theyre loyal to the hand !

My brain is full of beans, so I did another silly. Trebuchet didn't appreciate the company, ngl. I have also headcanon'd that Taurice wears unicorn children's shoes in his size. Definitely a Taurice move. On a different note, take your time getting everything done. I've used the tips you gave on botmaking and immediately noticed a difference (and the fact that it's like writing a single page autobiography to cram words in). Looking forward to the Sophia chatbot. For future projects, I'd definitely be interested in some Serpent's Hand / Tilda Moose chatbots. I found the lore to be really interesting to play around with, could be a fun process! *slides through the ground to hibernate.*

As someone well versed in Vanguard, I'm going to write their deal out and let you choose what to do with it.

Vanguard is not just Th Foundation, it is also The Serpent's Hand, The Church of Maxwellism, the Nälka, and a number of Freeports having come together under a united front. Unlike The Foundation, they are not barred from the Library. In theory, it is lead by a much larger choir of voices than The Foundation, they have a Council of Dirrectors including all their dirrectors rather than an O5 Council of oligarchs, but in practice, or at least as far as is seen in the stories that have been written so far, the loudest voices on that council are Dir. Tilda Moose, The Black Queen Alison Chao, and Karcist Varis. This seems to simply be bias of perspective on the part of the stories, rather than an actually in-universe problem, though.

Karcist Varis stars as one half in a buddy cop routine with Dr. Clef in on series of tales from the canon.

If Vanguard exists, the veil is gone. Breaking The Masquerade was the first thing they did after forming. This is because they are one of two possible outcomes of SCP-6500's Impasse. Without The Impasse, Vanguard doesn't exist, and without collapsing the veil, they have no further stated goals. Their plan was 1) collapse the veil 2) educate the public on the anomalous 3) protect the world, including the anomalous world, in a new world where containment is no longer possible.

Which is another big thing. They do not contain any more. They can't, not since they almost killed magic and the universe with it by restraining it like they had for over a century. No more cells, no more D-Class, no more deaths in the dark.

They can studdy, but they can't secure.

They can inform, but they can't contain.

But they can Protect. They can be the Vanguard.

I don't have much to say around their design. I went with a chill speaker kinda style, not to formal but more put together than whatever GAW would be wearing, think protester type even though Van would most likely give proper speeches. I didn't have much of an idea with the hair so I went with Daenerys braids vaguely looking like their logo.

However the only thing here with thought and intent was the coat. It's a hybrid between jean coats and a lab coat. This is because of how Vanguard came from the Foundation corpse and retains traits from him that are slightly altered.

Now for headcanons:

These were mildly hard to come up with my Vanguard lore knowledge is in the shitter.

Because Vanguard comes from the Foundation's death, Goc loathes him. He thinks that Van took Found away from him and is an empty husk of his former companion, puppeteering old traits they pick up from the Foundation's scraps to mock people

Presentation man, a large part of their work.That he works on for a large amount of hour to get it right

Like Foundation they are prone to rambling about topics. However unlike the Foundation they do not have a limit to what he will say. Gets him in trouble sometimes

Studies and uses leftover Foundation technology (normal or anomalous) to see if they will help Vangaurd (as an organization) or is useful to society

Most GoIs tolerate him because his goals and aspirations are different enough that no one cares unless it deals with the Veil

Shelter for the shelter-less; Runs a mass hospitality project for anomalies with out homes or in need protection

They also uses the shelter to seem more safe to the general public
