why do i genuinely get mad when i think about Four (BFB)'s characterization being inconsistent (not about pre/postsplit i think that was a justified change but happened a lil too fast). and like,. in tpot with the retconning of his reformation after bfb 30 was all about "heyyy Four is like. he was bad butnow he is working thoug his shit hey he's getting over his problems hoorayyy he is getting Betternow" and then NOOOOOOOPE boom they are now in the POT of T and they are Murder Baby yet again. huh????

È una delle conseguenze delle misure per il contenimento dell’epidemia di CODIV-19, e non delle più trascurabili, anche se non credo siano in molti ad averci fatto caso; io ad esempio non ci avevo fatto caso, anche se non faccio testo perché sono particolarmente distratto su certe cose. “Non ci sono più i bei tilét d’una volta”, ho sentito dire a un signore davanti a un pannello per le affissioni degli annunci funebri, in piemontese i tilét.

Ha ragione: con le attuali norme che vietano gli assembramenti, i funerali finiscono con lo svolgersi in quella che un tempo era definita “forma privata”, alla presenza della cerchia ristretta dei familiari. Nessuna necessità quindi di fare affiggere un tilét, anzi può addirittura essere sconsigliabile, se è vero che la cronaca non ha mancato di riportare casi di cerimonie funebri sfuggite di mano (qui).

Il rimpianto di quel signore per i bei tilét d’una volta, e per estensione per le “belle” cerimonie funebri d’una volta, ci verrà spiegato dagli studiosi come il venire a mancare di una forma di elaborazione del dolore e di un rito di distacco. Questo sarà senz’altro vero per chi è personalmente toccato da un annuncio funebre, cioè quando esso annuncia la morte di un conoscente; ma non credo che possa fornire una spiegazione al fenomeno nella sua interezza. Perché chi si ferma e leggere i tilét non lo fa solo per cercarvi col dovuto timore qualche conoscente, ma lo fa per una forma di compassione più generale, in cui c’è spazio per la varietà dei dolori e delle perdite degli altri. E lo fa anche per una curiosità fine a se stessa, per cercarvi il racconto di storie tragiche e meno tragiche, per trarne motivo di riflessione sulla caducità della vita e sul cieco destino, e sotto sotto penso anche per una certa scaramanzia.

“Morti a tia, saluti a mia”, morte a te, salute a me, cantavamo da bambini, atrocemente, quando passava un funerale. Dal lato opposto verrebbe da rispondere “Oggi a mé, domani a té”, come ho visto scritto, accenti compresi, sul portale d’un cimiterino di montagna, nel vallone di Dubbione: quest’estate voglio tornarci per fotografarlo, prima che qualche iconoclasta ortografo prenda l’iniziativa di correggerlo.

Tempo fa accompagnavo una amica a casa e pochi metri prima di arrivare al cancello lei mi chiese di fermare la macchina: “Lasciami qui”,  mi disse; “vado a leggermi i tilét: ce ne è sempre di nuovi.” Ci sono sempre nuovi annunci funebri, è vero, e incessantemente: perché ci sono sempre nuovi morti, maschi e femmine, vecchi e meno vecchi, sani e malati, che ci lasciano serenamente o nella sofferenza, come si può legittimamente pensare quando l’avverbio viene omesso; che si spengono circondati dall’affetto dei loro cari o no, dopo lunga malattia o improvvisamente…

La mia amica mi ricordò i tempi in cui andavamo a vedere i cartelloni del cinema: sotto la scritta “prossimamente” una serie di fotogrammi che cercavamo di decifrare per ricostruire una possibile storia e decidere se il film valesse la pena di essere visto. E certi funerali valgono la pena di essere visti.

Degli avvisi di lutto di minuscolo formato venivano affissi alle porte dei familiari del defunto, ornati da un fiocco nero; erano l’attestazione che in quella casa veniva osservato il lutto, e dovevano restare affissi per tutta la sua durata, che era determinata dal grado di prossimità. Il lutto “per l’amato sposo” durava tutta la vita, fino ad eventuale nuovo matrimonio; la durata del lutto per gli altri parenti e congiunti non ricordo quale fosse, ma si calcolava in mesi. Il lutto, a sua volta, in alcuni casi e per un determinato periodo doveva essere stretto, cioè escludere ogni forma di colore o vezzo nell’abbigliamento; le donne dovevano portare il capo coperto da un foulard nero, e vestire di nero; gli uomini vestire molto scuro con una fascia nera al braccio, o un bottone nero all’occhiello. Esaurito il periodo di lutto stretto, era consentito passare dal nero a una varietà molto scura di grigio. Non avere rispettato tutto intero il periodo prescritto di lutto, o averlo osservato in maniera non sufficientemente stretta, era fatto socialmente molto riprovevole.)
