Okay so this is my new favorite ship, Benedict is the delicate Bridgerton and I'm super glad that he's finally found someone who matches his energy and instead of grounding him, brings a courageous side of him.

I 1000% believe they’re going to gender swap Sophie Beckett for Benedict’s season (aka season 4). With how his story with Tilly ended, it wouldn’t make sense for him to end up with a woman next season. In part 1, he seemed very open to courting Tilly, bringing her flowers and everything, and I generally caught the vibe he maybe wanted to marry Tilly in the future, but after she helped Benedict discover his bisexuality he seemed less and less interested in her and more and more interested in men. After turning her down, why would he immediately go off and marry a different woman? Why even have him explore his sexuality if there’s no real payoff (other than being able to say they included queer stories into the show and pat themselves on the back for that)? Sophie Beckett will be a man or I will eat my hat.

people hating on tilly is so strange to me because what I saw was two adults who expressed their honest emotions and then respected each others' boundaries because they care about each other - its called healthy communication gang. tilly shouldn't have swallowed her feelings and benedict did not owe her to stay in a closed relationship. and neither of those things happened.

So I know a lot of us have reservations about Lady Tilly Arnold especially with the shows track history with love triangles. I have some hope that Shondaland would have more sense than to repeat that for another season and with a couple who's already been through a love triangle. (Add into the fact that I think writers would rather lean into Whistledown for polin's drama)

I personally would think it would be funnier if Tilly Arnold came to the Ton saw Penelope trying to apply Colin's advice in confidence and goes oh baby no. Here let me show you how to be a confident lady of the ton.

Because confidence between men and women can look very different especially with the social rules between the two. Maybe Tilly recognizes that too and since she is described as a firebrand widow she decides she must pass her wisdom on.

Then it's just a battle of the confidence teachers between Tilly and Colin. Especially when Tilly's advice appears more successful.

is this how you guys feel? cause I’ve seen people say similar things. I am kind of disappointed with how they’ve handled it. They did this in season 2 as well, but Kanthony still got a lot of screen time (even though we missed out on their wedding Shonda I’ll never forgive you). In fact, Polin probably had more screen time in s2 than their own one. I don’t even think it was the side plots themselves either, but more the way they were edited together. We had a polin scene, and then like 5 scenes of subplots before going back to Polin. It would have been much better and feel a lot less rushed if there were more Polin scenes in between :/.

I think that there will be a lot more in part 2 and that part 1 was just the build up, so I’m excited for that. Also, I did like season 3 (so far). But I feel like a lot of my enjoyment came from the side plots and not Polin, but that might just be because I’m not really bothered about their season (don’t get me wrong; I think they’re cute and good for each other, but I prefer the other characters more).

Also, whilst we’re on the topic of season 3, what do you guys think about Benedict’s role in it. I feel like s4 will be his because a lot of people were upset when s3 wasn’t (though I’m glad s3 was Colin’s season, I would have gone insane if it was dragged on for another season 💀), and also because eloise and Francesca seem unlikely. Francesca is with John for two years before the events occur (iykyk) and Eloise needs more character development (esp in regards to her feelings towards romance) before it can be hers. But I don’t know why Tilly has been introduced? It’s quite strange to introduce her now when his season is probably going to be next, so I wonder how she’ll play into his development, or if she’ll have a role in season 4.

Finished 4th rewatch of season 3 pt1, and there is no way that Tilly Arnold isn't connected to Sophie!!! She is so evil stepmother coded, and that convo she was having with her solicitor?!?! That could totally be about Sophie's father and his will or whatever (haven't read the book and don't plan on it, but I know it's the Cinderella trope).

At the very least, that scene with the solicitor is important in some way. I doubt that they would put it in for no reason (though it is possible)

Lastly, just the icing on my theory cake, I think she's trying to fall pregnant with Benedict's child and trap him into marrying her

I already knew this was gonna be my fave, because, well, Polin, but I didn’t expect it to be all around my favourite season! of course Penelope and Colin, but also Eloise and Cressida, Francesca’s adorable romance with John Stirling, Benedict and his hot ass widowed lover Lady Tilly, and even Violet finally getting some! I’m obsessed!!
