We have already established that Domino Recording Company serves as a great house for their musicians, since they also let them release their own side projects as we've seen on some posts. Thus, should we be surprised Alexis Taylor, the frontman of Hot Chip, decided to make one of his records under the employ of his group's label? Yes, he has a side gig as a electronica version of Bryan Ferry, which puts Hot Chip towards the Roxy Music comparisons then? The reason I mention Mr. Ferry might be that Mr. Taylor is more emotional on the discs he does on his own, which does remind me of the 70's lounge lizard rocker. However, Alexis Taylor might be closer to what Leonard Cohen might have done, had he decided to tackle the electronic music of the 10's.
JUNE - in studio with Kayleigh (25th) to record 2 new songs [new project according to last interview and a Dunes Q&A]
AUGUST - almost two weeks in L.A. (August 11 last show - August 23 first post home) after the end of the Dunes solo tour without a clear reason why (tattoo is not a reason) [MCR5?]
SEPTEMBER - working on demos at home alone according to the podcast recorded at the end of the month [MCR5?]
OCTOBER
- recording the new Dunes album according to an interview Anthony did that month. (Before the 19th)
- ten free days in the studio with his former solo producers [new project according to recent podcast]
NOVEMBER/DECEMBER - they are constantly sharing moments that seem to be of them working on the new Dunes album while on tour.
So what I don’t understand is why Kayleigh Goldsworthy hasn’t officially joined L.S. Dunes. Like she very clearly should, imo. She already plays with them in their songs and they play with her in her songs at concerts so maybe. Um. Make it official. Make the group even superer, if you will.
