Drawing Endo Yamato is a tricky feat.

Despite his simple looks, you realize there are more details to him that meets the eye. Sharp edges and curves, eyes and lashes that cut through, wavy locks of hair that fall with an order to itself.

It is difficult but so is to create. That’s the thing with art, and that’s what you love about it until the very end.

No matter how hard, how detailed something is, no matter how long it’ll take you to reach that level of skill required to make it, it is never impossible.

And so you sit back and keep observing him, smoothing out the page before you, you sharpen your pencil.

Despite the numerous pages adorned with his face, you’ve never spoken with Endo Yamato, not even once. Nor did you feel the need to.

Does god often seek an audience with their followers, does a nature artist eat the apple even after days of mold has accumulated— does everyone kill the thing they love? Or do they just leave it be, to their happiness or misery.

To you he is nothing more than a pretty face, beautiful features and an impressive body, one he uses as his own canvas, recording his life and feelings onto his skin permanently.

Endo Yamato never sits still, as if offering a challenge to you. Another thing that helps you in the long run, your pen begins to hasten, your sketch line improves and you begin to remember and transfer every small detail of a millisecond to paper without breaking a sweat.

It begins piece by piece, part by part. When one thing proves difficult to grasp, you have no choice but to dissect it one by one.

You begin with his structure, how he carries himself and his body. You have confidence in your figure drawing but it takes something extra to show off his pride and nose high up attitude in his posture. You don’t know Endo Yamato all that much but you know enough that you don’t like him or his kind at all.

Then comes the face, the edge of his jaw and the softness to his cheeks despite coming off as thin. It’s the details that prove the real challenge. When drawn apart, be it his eyes or the hooked nose, you’re good. Yet the way they have been placed on his face, you have to remake the dough figurine over and over again. His hair proves a great distraction, you’d suppose it is the real source of your problems. It hides everything characteristic to him, every small detail, the arch of his brows, the wrinkles on his face when he smiles or furrows them, the angle of his nose and how the bridge comes down, the light in his eyes though they are absent majority of the time.

You sketch over and over, the pencil glides off the pages. You change the materials but the subject remains the same. Noticeable changes begin to appear after some time. You’ve lost for how long you’ve been drawing, but it comes natural now.

So you switch up the medium, and try the process from the start with watercolors. The uncontrollable nature of the medium met with the difficult subject growing familiar on your muscles perfectly.

Too perfectly in fact, as you are lost in the thrill of it, that you don’t even notice how time passes nor the shift in scenery unless it contradicts your paintings— and you’re slouching over the papers once more, face contracting in focus as shadows disturb your view and lighting.

When you steal a glance above, you’re met with not a cloud but none other than Endo Yamato himself.

Hands shoved deep in his pockets and his confident yet relaxed posture, he glances down at you and the papers, wearing a smug smile the whole time.

You wait for a moment of breath then divert your attention back to the work before you, adding shadows currently.

You hear him let out a slight grunt, and maybe you’d see his expression shift into something of surprise too, were you to be carefully watching.

“It’s sublime knowing I have a fan.” He says, still not stepping one step to the side, adamant on blocking the light apparently.

His words register far too late for you, you let out a hum at first, “hmm… oh?” The sound fades into surprise on your end, “ah, no, you see-“

You dip the brush into water and to the shades of blue and purple, mixing and lightening the amount of paint on the brush. 

A tapping of feet brings you down to earth and reminds you for once you are not alone in your leisure time of painting.

“Ah… sorry.” You say more as an apology for forgetting he was right there up until a second, “it’s nothing like that.”

Your words take him out like a chain of inconveniences following one after another, building up until you’ve lost your temper.

You don’t notice this either, focus solely on perfecting the shading, calling it another painting done and complete.

To Endo, your nonchalance is odd to say the least. Here he stands, the subject of your attention for many a while now, from what he has seen, and you don’t seem to care one bit. Or is it the paper that is holier than him? Or is this another, albeit looser case of Takiishi, not caring for the people but for their reflections, their end products, what comes out of them and the hand that crafts them into something bigger, brighter.

Along the lines Endo Yamato says to you, you do catch something like ‘having the real thing before you already.’ An enlightenment perhaps, a revelation you didn’t need nor asked for.

So he is a charmer, you think, or tries to be. Considering the things at hand it’s the former most likely— walking up to you without a care in the world as if you’ve interacted before. It takes some sort of confidence, as most charmers carry with them. He is just not trying it to the fullest with you, but is it because he thinks he already holds a part of you in his hand, you’re unsure.

In the short timeframe of thinking over a man you couldn’t care any less, you notice your brush staggering, slowing down. Any more and the drops of water will be too much for the paper, ruining all your hard work on this completely.

“So… listen,” you begin, cutting off whatever he was saying. “If you don’t have anything important to say, would you mind-“ 

You wait and wait for him to catch on. Instead met with empty eyes looking at you with not a single clue inside that brain of his, you let out a sigh.

“The light at this hour is very good and you’re making me lose it minute by minute right now.”

Endo looks at you, in disbelief again. Not the reaction he was expecting and definitely not the words he expected to hear. And compared to how quiet and just shy you sounded up until the last sentence— that last demand, all that timid nature of you dispelled within a second. 

Deflated, he admits his defeat for the time being and leaves, stealing one last glance at the paper.

As the man leaves, you watch his back for a bit, waiting for your brush to dry.

Odd, you think. 

What did he really expect you to do or say? 

You may not know Endo Yamato but all you’ve observed is more than enough to deem him as weird. You are somewhat aware he is filled with burning passion down to his very being but that’s just not who you are as an artist.

The views people have on you, and by extension, on artists has always been far fetched from what you’ve seen.

Must art always be loud and intense, waging war upon any heart that gazes at it? Should you too be destructive and heavy— not all artists see their subject like Basil to Dorian, not all art is an all consuming fire, an endless devotion, a declaration of war. Art can be natural and gentle, like a breeze, like a stream of river.  Love can be accepting and gentle, unifying and kind with the familiarity it brings, the comfort hidden in the routine, as he fails to see.

By the time the painting has come to an end, darkness has fallen. Endo Yamato has already left, and the sunlight soon after him. The sky begins to darken, purple spreads of paint among the clouds. You turn the page and leave today in the past, crossing another thing off the list and moving on.

Sooooo I'm only roleplaying Rufus, I'm certainly not saying that every Turk I interact with HAS to follow these ideas. I would MUCH rather you come to the table with your own lore and your own take.

But, here is my personal takeaways from the canon about the Turks and their relationship with Rufus. I'm mostly writing this because it's fun and I'm getting to know my muse a little bit, but this will probably affect how I play the character and his feelings toward the canon Turks and Turk OCs.

I haven't played/watched Before Crisis yet, and I need to revisit Crisis Core because I played it a looooong time ago, so I'm mainly going off the original FF7, the Advent Children sequel film, and Remake and Rebirth. Tseng, Reno, Rude, Elena.

My absolute FAVORITE thing about the Turks is that they almost feel like a "main party" of their own game. They're super professional and do hella questionable stuff, but they are FRIENDS, they hang out, they go drinking together, they genuinely care about each other, they talk about their crushes, they have their own Synergy attacks just like the main party...

As evil as Shinra, Inc. is, at least the Turks division of the company seems to be VERY well-managed. And we've seen (moreso in the original FF7) that Heidegger is a super toxic and abusive boss. But, when Rufus takes over, the power dynamics shift a lot. Heidegger is ridiculed and often kind of just acts as Rufus's assistant. The Turks, though, become much more prominent, and I've always gotten the vibe that they report directly to Rufus more than they do Heidegger. Rufus almost seems to steal the department away from him. Even the official art of FF7 had Rufus and the Turks all in one image together. From what I know of Before Crisis, he has a personal history with the Turks and has pretty much gotten their complete loyalty and respect before FF7 happens, and like YEAH that holds up.

I think Rufus is much, MUCH closer to the Turks than the games show us. We never directly see Rufus drinking with them, but we also rarely see him directly out in public at all. He's the Charlie to their Angels, he's more of the behind the scenes guy directing them, but he IS part of the team. He drinks with them, he jokes with them, they all hang out and have love for each other... But with Rufus it's more private and behind closed and guarded doors.

That's not an artificial, "he signs my paychecks" relationship. That's LOVE. That's the power of friendship, the heart of the cards, the eye of the tiger. Just like all the Turks have with each other.

Advent Children, especially, did a very good job of expanding on Rufus's relationship with the Turks. They're all on the same page as remorseful and genuinely wanting to change the world for the better. Rufus has a moment of genuine shock and concern when Kadaj throws Elena and Tseng's bloody IDs at him. Reno and Rude show panic when Rufus just dives off a building. The fact that Rufus even COULD make that jump with full confidence that the Turks would catch him. And they DO.

Like honestly in my mind the Turks are almost an extension of Rufus himself. A scene with Reno is also a scene with Rufus, even if he isn't physically present, and vice-versa. They all have that Synergy (pun intended) to them. They're all watching each other's backs and on the same side.

SERIOUS TALK. I'm heavily considering moving this account to a new one. This one is getting really cluttered between the awful tumblr changes not remembering my tags, not being able to find headcanons, old asks & threads accumulating, in general is a mess. Not only that but things as general graphics and aesthetics feel very outdated. Being pretty honest, Tomoya was supposed to be a "TEMPORARY BLOG" while I took a break from my previous main muse. That's why I didn't even bother to make pretty fancy tags, pages or really elaborated graphics. I didn't expect to get attached to them, surprised myself with the bonds they have created too ! Plus, I think I have grasped by now the direction of this muse, builded up a story I still have to talk about and AUs set that I sure do love exploring. So as soon as this semester is over, I'll start preparing a new blog to move this one and have a fresh start. Here comes a to do list for myself on what I should prepare before moving this account though. Will be done in the shadows as I continue using this one for the time being.

Look for a new URL ! If possible one that matches the spring aesthetic I want to give off. If not, one about fate / destiny or lighting / thunderstorms will do.

Make a new rules page and be more precise in the unfollowing / following section as well as some things I want to prevent while plotting and shipping with others.

Use a new formatting that uses purples and reds ! C'mon Berry, use to your advantage the new formatting options.

Make that mains / bonds page. But make it extra special by adding drawn chibis of Tomo's bonds: Chihiro, Tem, Satoru, Kaeya ( aka. I gotta start doodling them ).

GRAPHICS with a new aesthetic ! Mobile header, dash icon, not doing a theme this time tho, a header for asks and threads even. But especially a new icon border cause I hate the current one so much.

Mini Update

Moewdy, I'm making this just in case y'all were worried about me & to give you guys a update on my plans & progress on my blog remake!

So firstly just a life update, still homeless, still working on that, but slowly it feels like we're moving forward, just don't know to what yet. It is also my birthday soon! 27th of this month to be exact, I'll be turning 22 alongside my twin @playedbetter.

Now blog updates

I am still going to remake my blog, I think a fresh start would be good for me, my mental health & my writing ablity, when this happens I'll archive this blog & redirect you guys to my new blog/account which will be Chaosmultiverse at that point, right now it has a random name while I work on it.

With this remake I am resetting the majority of my plots & characters, I really want a fresh start & I want to be able to account for the Community Verse system I am gonna be using to make things simple for me from the get go, this does not apply to server Community Verses (DC GC for example) or my affiliate blogs, which is right now just @playedbetter.

(When it is closer to the remake launch I will make a call for those that either want to maintain plots & ships, or want to figure ones out from the get go)

As for progress here is where I am at in a few different regards.

I have found a way of using photoshop on my phone, so have beening icons, a dash icon, and things for headers and promo pics, I still have a lot to make before I have the amount I want but I have made the templates

(There will be a second stage later down the road when I have reliable access to a pc again where I will be remaking my icon templates & remaking/making new pics for the other things, I just want pics for in the meantime)

I have made some of the important OOC pages like a updated rules page & a about the mun, when it is closer to being relaunched I'll make sure these are still up to date.

I have also made a new muse page & a credits page, both are WIPs right now, the muse page isn't still 100% settled, with some muses added & removed from time to time (plus lack of icons) and the credits page isn't done either as it's actively being updated as I use stuff or get permission to use stuff.

I now mainly need to work on character bios, I have a few done and these can really very in how long they take to make, but I want it to be easy to find info about my muses so I am not skipping this step or doing it post blog opening

Besides from the bios the other big thing is important Headcanons & Info posts & pages, along with templates for the info pages, since I tend to be canon divergent or have world scale hc's it's important to me that I communicate them.

There are also some muses I want to do more research on, specifically some LOL muses and DC muses, in general I'm trying to make sure I have a good understanding of my muses.

I unfortunately don't have any time estimates, life is really unpredictable right now & that impacts how much time I can put into this blog, I will say it is safer to assume it will take longer than shorter, so a few months at least, in the meantime I am semi available on discord for talking, plotting & RP'ing with the understanding it may not fit into my blog.

so here's what i'm thinking -- i'm gonna remake this blog. i've wondered for a while if i shouldn't just remake and start over ( with some exceptions ofc ) bc i've felt overwhelmed whenever i try to be here. it's my fault bc i let things pile up too much, and that happened bc i think i've just been biting off more than i can chew at a time.

I apologize for tagging you all and bothering you once again for my shitty reasons, but since this is an important update to my blog ( I'm remaking without remaking ), I wanted you all to know what happens and how I'll be running this blog from that point on. ( I'm moving blogs to sideblogs so I can't follow you to let you know I'm moving them )

As some of you may have noticed, I'm moving my muses to separate blogs. That's a kind of system I was using a long time ago and I'm using once again now. How that works, you'll ask. Some of my muses are hosted on separate sideblogs, but I'll still be running this blog as a multimuse/hub blog. Everything will remain the SAME, I'll still be sending asks from knightinsourarmor, like calls, reblog visuals/quotes/aesthetic from different muses/fandoms. What has changed is that the writing has moved to a sideblog for each muse. I wanted them to still be tied to this blog but have a place on their own with their aesthetic, headcanons etc. ( their vibe if you get me ).

With that system, you can follow the sideblogs you want and see content only from the muses that interest you ( cool huh? ). Kind of like, little rooms my muses are hosted at, but still on the same house.

Now, to get to the point.

Todoroki Shoto and Levi Ackerman, my most active and developed muses have moved to singlemuse blogs ( different accounts, I can like content and follow back from there ). That's a decision I made because Shoto and Levi are developed to the point the rest of my muses can't catch up. They have far too many verses, can fit almost to any plot, and deserve the amount of attention I'd give on a blog on it's own.

The rest of my primary and secondary muses have moved to SIDEBLOGS tied to this blog. As for tertiary, private and test (low activity muses) they will REMAIN on this blog. This blog will also be the place I post ooc content, updates, headcanons, rp memes, reblog stuff I find notable from the rest of my blogs. So I suggest you don't unfollow even if there's only one muse you are interested in.

Despite the many blogs, knightinsourarmor will always remain the main I run. You can still treat this blog as a multimuse, tag this url to stuff, send me asks here etc.

As for urls, since I know from experience it's difficult to remember a bunch of blogs one person only runs, I've made them all have a common word, end to ‘–baund’. That way, if a sideblog appears on your dash/notes and you don't know who this is, you'll remember this blog is connected to knightinsourarmor.

Heya all welcome to lab-camp-kill, my new DBD multi-muse blog. After realizing that with the amount of character blogs I had was getting unwieldy. I decided to consolidate and make it so that I only had to keep track of the one blog for the most part.. The older blogs will still be up for now, though after a time of archiving probably will go away... Roman Bridger(Ghostface) @dbd-ghostface-roman - Now stuck in the Entitys realm Roman is the Ghostface from Scream 3, he has some anger issues especially over his half-sister Sidney Prescott.  Leslie Vernon(A.K.A. Leslie Mancuso)- Brand new to this blog, Leslie Vernon is a slasher killer from the super underappreciated gem of a movie called Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. Johnny Slaughter/Sawyer- Recently created for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game. Johnny is a member of Bubba(Leatherface’s) family in the real world. Johnny is one of the more normal looking family members and he uses his good looks to lure victims to the family house. Recently Exy decided that he was perfect for trials so brought a version of him here to the realms. (Johnny is special, most of my muses are completely stuck in the Entity realms. But Johnny you can ask questions as if he were in the “Real World” of the TCM game as well like AU questions make clear that’s what you are doing if you do so.)  Rules-  - This is an ask blog for Dead By Daylight (DBD) muses  - +18 blog - Asks not directed at a specific muse will be given to one at random  - Asks can be sent to all muses at once  - Interacting with mutuals and non-mutuals alike! sorry in advance if im not active as much from hereon out. all my icons , for all three of my muses (and mun fc), were lost , as well as the pages i saved in which they appeared in the manga . thankfully i managed to save some icon templates , but it's just so much work that im tired and things are going to be slow here . esp for this blog since it was my third time remaking nelliel's icons , and now it has to be a fourth . it's really draining to think about so yeah .

welcome! my name is kodiak, but you can call me kodi, if you want. i'm a 32 year old male who lives on the east coast of the united states (GMT -5) and am currently a stay at home parent. i won't always be the most active, as this is a way to relieve stress and somedays, my mental health and home life will require me to be absent here. i will always do my best to at lease check in, and i will happily share socials with mutuals i regularly interact with. i've been writing for 20 years now and as sam for a good solid nine. he's really special to me and i am excited to share him with you. you're always welcome to message me in ask or dm, so long as you understand that a slower response isn't me ignoring you. i love to make friends and cry over the chaos we create.

i take a very firm semi-canon approach to my portrayal of sam, and while i do absolutely use canon aspects in my development, i also take my fair share of creative liberties with my writing. if you find this uncomfortable, i encourage you to unfollow. at the end of the day, your dash needs to be safe for you. i write a wide array of ships with sam, but i don't tend to lean into shipping. i will tell you about my ships if asked, otherwise, i will just keep them to myself unless they develop. i will be writing themes deemed NSFW, including and not limited to horror, gore, violence, drug use / abuse, sexual activity and mentions of past assault, as i am in agreement with the fanon that sam has at the very least been victimized by lucifer. all darker / triggering themes will tagged accordingly and should you find me posting one you need tagged, i encourage you to come to me and ask. you're free to do it on anon, so long as you're polite about it.

going to take one of these days or something to properly re-do / remake my pages for my muses. in general, i've got a current formula i like to use for a couple of rp servers i'm in, and i like what i have going with that, so i might take that and apply it to here as well. i know i was told most don't even bother with the in-depth stuff nowadays, but it absolutely tickles me pink to write & flesh out information about my characters in a somewhat poetic manner. it helps me with musing them as well and to express how i am with them. though i know it could potentially burn me out if i'm not careful, so it'd be a few at a time at best.
