Drawing my probably favorite TWF showstopper character! She's soo silly

What are the key features to drawing walten files character?

I’m going to assume you mean the bunny farm art style, and not characters. Because I’ve literally only drawn Banny (and one tiny Bon), so I definitely have no expertise on the characters.

But I’ve drawn in the Bunny Farm art style a few times, and I sorta got it. So here’s the key things

(By blocky I mean blocky fingers.)

I’m definitely still no expert, and drawing this made me notice some things I forgot to do in my previous drawings (such as the fact they do have fluffy cheeks). My version is still a bit stylized in a few places.

Snow White and the 1026 Dwarfs

Snow White woke up in the strangest little bed!   She'd happened upon the small, cozy house deep in the woods, found nobody at home, and promptly crashed in the first bed she'd spotted.  Sleep claimed her then, dragging her away to a place of relative peace and calm... carefully letting her ignore how tiny all the furnishings were, how oddly low were the ceilings and fixtures. And now, the next morning!  What odd little men surrounded her!  Normally she'd be alarmed by close proximity to so many strangers, but the events of the past day had granted her an oddly calm outlook on life.  Nothing much rattled her anymore. Snow White blinked sleepily, yawned, and stretched.  The men watched her every movement, transfixed. "Do you talk?" She asked experimentally. One older man -- tiny, rotund, and wiser than the rest with a long white beard -- glanced around at the others and nodded.  He adjusted his spectacles and stepped forward. "I'm Doc," he explained with a jolly chuckle.  "And these are my friends: Smarmy, Ragey, Explainy, Glossy, Pookie, Pesty, Grippy, Inebriated, Teary, Swampy, Piggy, Catty, Hitler, Stroky, Zombie, "We'd be honored if you stayed!" All 1026 dwarfs nodded in agreement, and were so thrilled they threw Snow White a party to celebrate their new friendship.  The party lasted late into the evening, and everyone passed out with full tummies and a happy smile lighting their faces. The next day the dwarfs arose early and prepared for work.  Snow White cooked them breakfast and when it was time to leave they all lined up at the door to bid her farewell for the day. Day 6: April 5, 2018

SHANGHAI (Where everyone is helpful) It was cool and gray in Shanghai this morning; since it looked a little dreary outside, I thought it’d be a good museum day. I went down to see what the breakfast buffet held, and it’s enormous, with many different types of foods; omelettes, yogurt, congee, smoked fish, etc. etc. I brought my laptop down and worked for a while as I ate. I was working for so long that after a while I realized I was hungry again, so I had second breakfast. I like this hotel.

I only “know” a couple of people here; one is an Instagram friend, Banny, whom I’ll see on Saturday, and the other is a cousin of a Minneapolis friend: Elliot. Elliot is also a photographer/DP and is also from Minnesota, but has lived in Shanghai for six years. We had made plans to meet up that evening, because he had to work during the day, but he told me about a couple of museums he thought I’d like.

After second breakfast I looked up the addresses of these museums, and then asked the hotel concierge to write them in Chinese for me, since I thought I would need to take a cab because of the weather. “Wow, I”m smart!” I thought. The bellhop tried to call a cab for me, but everyone else in the city also wanted to take a cab because of the rain, so he said I should probably take an Uber instead.  I launched my account, but it doesn’t actually work in mainland China (although it did in Hong Kong), so he called one for me on his own personal account and I gave him some cash. That was nice, I thought.

The driver was friendly, although we couldn’t really talk to each other, so we did a lot of smiling. After a while, things started to feel wrong; both museums were on the same side of the river as my hotel, and even though I’m bad with directions, I can tell when I’m crossing a river. 

I tried telling him we were going the wrong way; his brow furrowed for a minute and then he smiled back once again and kept driving. (Later, I found there are two branches of this museum, and I had written down the wrong one.) “Uh oh,” I thought. “What am I going do?”  Elliot to the rescue! I messaged him on WeChat and he gave me the correct address in Chinese. I showed it to the driver, and apologized. After a minute or so, he understood what I meant (thank heavens he spoke some English) and then turned back. Therein followed a call back to the original bellhop, where he translated between us and we got the payment all sorted out.  Eventually we made it to the museum, and as I was getting out I apologized again. He smiled back. “It’s okay.” He said. “We friends.”

The Long Museum (West Bund location) is built on a former industrial site. The architect, Liu Yichun, left these two-story tall coal hoppers, and built the museum pavilions around it: very industrial chic. The interior space is largely open and flexible; the main exhibit, by Yang Fudong, was fascinating. The first thing you do is walk through a film set; the artist is shooting a film in the museum as part of the exhibition. 

One of the things that I’ve noticed in China is that everyone is always photographing everything. This is great for me, because I feel like I can shoot anything I want too. I was lining up one shot near a stairwell, and had set my camera right on the ground, so that I could take advantage of the museum’s glossy floors. I was shooting for a while, totally absorbed in what I was doing, when after a bit I noticed someone standing over my left shoulder; it was a museum guard. I looked at him, and saw he was looking at my viewfinder. So I scrolled through the images I just shot, and he pointed at one of them and gave me a thumbs up. I went back to shooting, and then a minute or so later saw four guys with their Nikons looking at me. The next thing I know, they also put their cameras and the floor, and all five of us where shooting together. 

When I had lunch in their cafe, the woman behind the counter asked me where I was from. (Seemingly all the 20-somethings I’ve met are fluent in English.) I told her from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and she shook her head. I asked if she knew the artist Prince, and she shook her head again. “Wow. A world without Prince,” I thought. 

The rain had subsided enough that I could take the subway to meet Elliot for dinner. But when I got out of the metro it had picked up again, so as I was walking toward the restaurant I kept an eye out for a shop that would have umbrellas. I finally found a tiny place that had a few. The nice woman tried to give me the black umbrella, but I pointed to the yellow one (which was smaller, and in I realize now that it’s probably meant for a little girl or boy.) Then I held the yellow umbrella against my orange coat for her to see that I liked the colors together. She laughed and as I walked away I wanted to do a little Gene Kelly dance, but then thought she doesn’t know who Gene Kelly is.

I was the first one to the restaurant: an Argentinian steak house that had a hip vibe. The owner greeted me with a smile and a handshake, and when I explained I was meeting someone, he brought me to the bar and poured me a glass of Champagne. “To make the waiting better,” he said. (As it turns out he gives everyone a glass of Champagne when they walk in, but I had a few minutes of ignorant basking before I realized that.)

Elliot and his two friends arrived, Lynn and Laura, who are twin sisters. They are photo producers and know Elliot and his girlfriend professionally. It was so nice to be able to speak complete sentences to people that I think talked about a mile a minute to everyone. They were all amazing hosts, asking me where I had been, and where I was going. Lynn and Laura live in Beijing, and when they found out I was going there next, they told me they’d take me out for Peking duck.

After dinner we went next door to a swank bar, named Revolution. The four of us had drinks and chatted, and then another friend of theirs showed up. I, of course, had my camera with me, and was taking a couple of pictures. The bartender (a blond Russian) got all excited and started asking me about my lens; how fast it was, etc. So I took his photo, quickly edited it on my phone, and showed him. “Please send that to me!” he said, getting out his phone. We became WeChat friends and I sent him the pic.

Eventually I ended up sharing a cab with a Canadian art director, Dena, who has worked extensively in movie production. It was fun to chat about her experiences in Shanghai. We also became WeChat friends, but she told me I had a terrible profile photo and insisted upon taking a new one for me. :) 

When I finally got back to the hotel I was wiped out—I’m not used to staying out late like that anymore—and as I approached the door, the bellhop rushed up. Thinking he was going to open the door for me (it’s that kind of hotel) I looked up at him. He was staring right at me. “Lady massage?” he said? “You want lady massage?” This was not the bellhop. “No thanks, I said.” He looked at me closer. “Boy massage?” 

So yes, everyone in Shanghai is impossibly friendly and helpful; perhaps too much so in at least one case.

For example, the Jats of Banni use mirrors of various sizes, whereas the Garari Jat community prefers tiny mirrors that are stitched with colorful combinations of silk threads. Similarly, the Kathi embroidery of the state uses mirrors as the central focus, and place them in the eyes of an animal embroidery or in the center of the flower.

 Mirror work is used to embellish clothes, ranging for skirts, bags, cushion covers, and bedspreads, tapestries and sarees; oftentimes, one can find kurti wholesaler in Surat, stocking products with intricate works that are just as expensive, as they are beautiful. The artwork may be used to embellish any garment or piece of cloth for decorative purposes.
