hello!! ive been thinking about litd (the fic itself is a worm that wont leave my head grians power stretches through universes) and do you have an idea of how things would be different if the events of the fic happened after wild life? or at the very least after secret life? because I'm assuming pearl would be in a better place (debatable) since shes not fresh out of the horrors, but scar post having to deal with his own win... (and his final death in limlife where grian kills him???) or mumbo possibly fresh out of his final death in wild life where grian was there and it was somewhat his fault??? but also on the flipside would they all be doing significantly worse... because six (minus the april fools specials) death games probably wouldnt work wonders for anyones mind... and also with secret life's allusions to the watchers...?! there is so much to think about im going insane thank you so much /lh

Honestly, the longer the games go on, the worse the fallout exponentially gets-- more games equals more trauma, more lies, more pain, more death, more violation of their minds and boundaries, so.... its safe to say that if hunger au took place after wild life??? I dont think anyone would try to find him for a long, long time. As for secret life, i could see Scar going after him... but he would be going it fully alone. Which admittedly is a REALLY fun thought for a hunger au variant, thank u i will be chewing on this for the next 24 business hours now WKDNJSNDKDND

Yak deserves all the praise for continuously checking in with Dee throughout the night during sex, but I also want to point out that Yak kept apologizing to a drunk and passed out Dee because he knew he was violating his privacy.

He apologized when he was trying to figure out where Dee lived and even though he smiled when he picked up Dee's phone, he still apologized.

Which makes me think that this conversation isn't all about Yak's dick.

Yak is used to people being intimidated by him. He is a fighter. He is a scary guy.

But Dee doesn't give a shit.

Yak is annoyed that Dee doesn't know who he is.

But how nice must it be to not immediately get the normal reaction from Dee that he probably gets from others.

Yak doesn't threaten Dee with violence in the bathroom, but Dee, who is in the wrong, still argues with Yak as if he is the one who is annoyed.

But, even then, Yak makes it clear that he isn't a mean man.

Which is true.

Yak is as kind as he can be in those circumstances. He apologizes to a person who is not awake to hear those apologizes. He carries Dee to his home. He fully intends to leave him once he gets into the place. He checks in throughout sex. And he asks if Dee is scared.

Of his dick? Yeah, he directly asks that, but also of him, to which Dee sizes him up and firmly establishes that there is really nothing to be afraid of.

Because feisty Dee is actually the scary one here when pissed off and the only reason he was "vanilla" was because he wanted Ter to believe he was vanilla, but Yak has proven to the gentle giant.

But nobody ever gets to see that.

Except Dee.

Bridgerton Parallels & Secrets

I’m doing a full series Bridgerton rewatch and I’ve discovered another season 1 parallel in season 3 that I have not seen talked about online.

In S1 E7, Daphne comes home after Marina’s pregnancy is revealed to support Colin and she takes him aside. She tells Colin that he should be lucky he learned of Marina’s secret before his wedding day (obviously this is about her marriage with Simon but it’s interesting how this comes back later).

Jump to season 3 and Colin learns of Penelope’s secret (her identity as Whistledown). And when does he learn of this? Before his wedding day.

In S3 E7, we see Kate offering marriage advice to Colin, saying that everyone has secrets. Here we get confirmation that Colin’s love for Penelope remains even through this conflict. He marries her the next day knowing her secret and accepting her still.

The difference this time with Colin is that his love for Penelope is true and deep, rather than a fleeting fancy. This secret Penelope held from him meant a great deal (due to his love of her and disdain for Whistledown) and yet he still chose to marry her.

And while Colin said he would have married Marina had he known of her pregnancy, the result would have been a loveless marriage and a strained relationship with his family due to their elopement.

Whereas, his marriage with Penelope would still be one of love (their confrontation the night before the wedding confirmed for Colin that Penelope believes she loves him) - regardless of their current conflict.

Furthermore, while Marina would have had Colin (or maybe not even told him) keep her secret, Penelope did have every intention of telling Colin about LW (before her conversation with Eloise in E6). And, once her secret was discovered, Penelope could not allow Colin to keep this secret from his family. Because she loves him.

Colin would have miserable having to keep such a big secret from his family and that is the biggest difference between Marina and Penelope: Marina would not have cared as much about Colin keeping a big Secret from his family but Penelope would. Because she also loves the Bridgertons.
