The navy ombré wall is in process now! I’ve done about the first 40 inches of the wall. The purple is the undercoating so that the white wall wouldn’t show through in thin areas. This is usually only a problem with darker colors so I made sure to paint several coats in this case because hello - dark!! So far it is working very nicely and is anything but subtle! ⚜️ Can’t wait to show you this room when it is finished. I have the completed work all wrapped up in my brain and it is epic. It will not be subtle!!! ⚜️ My Victorian era Steinway Concert Grand will live in this room and that piano has :::presence::: so everything else in the room is going to need to be able to hold its own. Therefore... no subtlety. None. #nada #lol ⚜️ Yes, dark colors make a room feel smaller. I’ve lived in a tiny house of 125 sq ft for more than three years and now that we are in a small house of 700 sq ft I find myself mourning the loss of those intimate spaces of our tiny. So hello... I’m working at that by using a dark color. ⚜️ Go ahead! Bring those walls in!! Lets get cozy! Lets get close! Let’s talk about things that really matter in this room!! #intimatespace ⚜️ Tiny Houses often put you right up in somebody’s grill... and that is not a bad thing at all. I’m trying to bring my tiny house into my small house. Have you ever watched one of those design shows like Trading Spaces where the very first thing that happens is that everything in the room just vanishes like magic? Oh the magic of television! Well what if you live in the real world and in a small house - or even a tiny house - where do you go with all the stuff when you are renovating or redecorating?
