Couple turned a school bus into an exceptional home.
The put up several walls.
And made built-in furniture.
Looks like it has lots of good storage in the seats.
This is one of the walls. I have never seen a corner kitchen in a bus- they’re usually straight and very small. By doing this, they were able to fit in a stove w/an oven, sink, and upper cabinets. Love this idea.
Plus, look at all the counter space.
I don’t know why they raised the table, but it looks like fun.
This is cute.
And, look at the size of the shower and full size sink.
The toilet is in a separate space.
The bed looks like at least a queen size. Great job.
This is the first post on my first ever blog! I don't know what I'm doing yet, but I will be posting pictures and videos of my school bus conversion into my house!
I purchased my bus in March of 2017 for $4,200, and drove it for the first time from Granby Colorado to Santa Fe New Mexico! From there I drove it 1200 miles to Kankakee Illinois, where an old friend let me store the bus on his grandfather's storage lot. I kept it in Illinois for awhile while I started my project!
Meet Shane & Emily, who turned a school bus into a tiny home that doubles as a tour bus for their band Arbour Season. This was a big upgrade from the RV they lived in prior. But as DIYers with no experience, they struggled to get their bus conversion just right. Their 3rd time renovating was definitely the charm! They now have a beautiful skoolie that works exceptionally for their family of 4.
When I finally live in my school bus and hit the road I’d like to start a Rat Circus 🎪 I feel like it’s definitely something people at truck stops/rest stops would like to see. Some purely weird entertainment.
Just imagine you’re walking into a gas station to grab some snacks for the road and there’s me with my wild hair, patchy hat on the floor for money, overalls full of nuts and a poorly made stand with my 3 rats jumping, stacking, tight rope walking, fetching, playing dead, standing, jumping through a hoop!! SHAKING PEOPLES HANDS like COME ON I’d make good money on the road like that! Might even pay for some of my gas or a meal.
Of course I’d learn some trade, like wood working, sewing, baking, leather work, potion/ exilr making - maybe even make some rat merch like a wooden spoon with a rat as the spoon part HAAA
I have never seen a layout in a skoolie conversion like these girls have. It’s very unique and appears to make more efficient use of the space. Take a look.
Doesn’t it look larger and brighter?
I like the color of the penny tile backsplash and the built-in spice rack.
They’ve got a small work area with a comfy chair plus room to spare, and it’s one of two desks.
Apparently, the driver’s area is utilized as part of the living space.
A 2nd work area is larger, and look at the little bar.
I have never seen a gallery wall in a skoolie.
The bed is slightly awkward, b/c the bath is there, but they can easily crawl in.
This is the roomiest one I’ve seen. Usually, they’re along the side of the bus.
I've been elbows-deep in con prep, property cleanup, travel prep, Tome work, and taking care of other important stuff. Busy! I hope to be able to make new art soon. Hope y'all are doing well. 💖
