My strong, intelligent, compassionate and understanding mother is a role model I couldn’t be more grateful to God to have. Having come to this country from Mexico City to start a new life with my Father over 30 years ago with barely anything with them when they came, and no family in the US, it wasn’t going to be an easy task to take up. Turning 30 was different than I anticipated it to be like when I was planning things out months ago. A lot has clearly changed m, and any sort of plan was cancelled, but it is what it is and there’s nothing I could do about it except adapt and do the best with what I could. In the end it was a pretty solid day, great weather and sun on Saturday with a handful of close friends around to enjoy it with along with my awesome boy Porter, got greeted by plenty of friends and supporters of what I’ve done and I’ve been doing in my time, I’m in good health, I’m able to work on myself a lot right now, less distractions, and I’m still able to work towards various goals I have mind, and so besides certain things going on the outside, things aren’t so bad right now... I’m thankful for everyone I’ve had some sort of impact on and likewise an impact on me, who has given me a helping hand in particular these last 10 years of my life but also throughout my lifetime. I’ve had a many ups and downs but I’ve never been alone with someone always there to keep me motivating me to move on, stay faithful, and focused (You know who you are in particular). All the different communities, events, parties, festivals, organizations, causes, venues, groups, projects, etc., that I’ve been involved with for many years, whether you’ve known me more as Tista, Bryan, or even Mr. Garay, I appreciate you for supporting what I do and who I am. Watching the news this morning about the aftermath of the earthquakes in Mexico, with another one (6.4 magnitude) that happened on Saturday, they did a report on a man volunteering who came from afar, while in a wheelchair, who felt obligated to help even in his situation. It moved me because even still, he didn't let the lack of being able to use his legs, hold him back from being able to help others.
