Titan Army week, Day 1 Thief/Trickery
Luke had dealt with monsters, mutinies, and more than one demigod with a death wish. But he was starting to think none of those situations were quite as troublesome as the ten year old currently raiding Mount Orthys.
Seriously, if Luke had known even a crumb of this kid’s trickiness he never would’ve brought him aboard the boat(Okay, he definitely would have-but that’s not the point!). There was no doubt in his mind that kid was a younger sibling of his, the crooked smile being as much an indicator as the wings on his ankles
Kilian moved like a blur—half human, half something else—fingers quicker than Alabaster’s hexes and less remorse than an empousa in a gentleman's club.
Luke watched, slack-jawed, as the kid emerged with a stolen twinkie, three drachma, and someones left shoe.
Only for the little demon to duck into the shadows the moment he was out in the open, a singular feather slowly floating down from where it had been left mid-air.
Chris spun in a full circle, standing right where the child was just a second ago, bewildered. “He was right there! I had him!”
“Looks like all you have is air,” Alabaster drawled from where he leaned against a crate, shifting a shard of Apatite between two fingers. “Possibly less than that, if we’re factoring in dignity.”
Chris shot him a glare, but before he could retort, a loud clang echoed from below deck—followed by the unmistakable pop of a soda can being opened.
Luke groaned. “I was saving that for later!.”
“Your fault for leaving it out of your sight,” Alabaster said. “He only strikes when he’s confident.”
“I’m starting to think he had–has very good reason to be confident.” Luke rubbed his temples before sitting down with a plop, eyes wandering the room in a scheming manner. “Okay. We’ve tried being welcoming. We’ve tried being stern. We’ve even tried bribery, and he stole the bribe.”
“Don’t forget the time we tried locking him in the broom closet.” Chris added.
“He stole the doorknob, Chris! Who does that?”
Alabaster finally looked up. “So what’s the plan now, fearless leader? You going to challenge him to a footrace? Arm wrestle? Maybe an interpretive dance-off?”
Luke grinned, sharp and dangerous. “Nope. We trick the little gremlin.”
Chris raised a brow. “We’re tricking a trickster?”
“Exactly.” Luke’s eyes glinted with something dangerously close to amusement. “Time to speak his language.”
Chris threw up his hands. “We can’t even find him, and you think you can outsmart him?”
“I don’t think,” Luke said, standing with renewed purpose. “I know. We just have to bait him.”
“With what?” Alabaster asked. “He’s already taken food, money, and footwear. What’s left? Our souls?”
Luke pointed at him. “That. Plus, all we really have to do is peak his curiosity. Alabaster–your mom is having a meeting with Morpheus this afternoon, right?”
The witch thought for a second before nodding. “Yup. Chthonic altar room, just after lunch. Whole place’ll probably be warded and veiled, top secret.”
“Perfect,” Luke said. “We’ll stage it like there’s a secret relic being passed between them. Real hush-hush, forbidden magic vibes. Add a couple runes, maybe some smoke too. Think you can fake it?”
The son of Hecate smirked. “I’ll make it look like there's a pile of gold right inside those doors.”
Chris didn’t look convinced. “And Kilian’s just going to stumble into it?”
“No,” Luke said, already pacing. “We leave the wrong door cracked open. Let him think he’s sneaking into something we didn’t want him to see.”
“You sure he’ll take the bait?” Chris asked.
Luke shot him a grin. “Oh, he’ll take it, for all his annoyingness–he’s still our brother, and curiosity is just simply a part of Hermes’ brand.”
Alabaster snorted, sliding off his seat. “Oh we know Luke.”
By the time lunch was over the plan was well underway, and the immortals were meeting right at the planned place and time. Veil spells shimmered faintly over the altar room entrance, just enough to catch a nosey glance but not enough to scream suspicion.
Chris had been stationed nearby, pretending to guard the entrance to the east wing. Of course, any Titan soldier worth their drachma knew there was absolutely nothing worth guarding in the east wing—and even if there was, Chris would never be the one guarding it. Not willingly, anyway.
But to the average newcomer? There was nothing remotely odd about a well-armored figure standing stiffly in front of a stone archway.
Alabaster and Luke were out of sight in a room right next to the divine conference, trying to quickly complete their wartime duties before the trap was sprung.
The hallway itself was just buzzing with manufactured mystery, empty and dark with scarce lanterns lighting the way. Visibly there was nothing wrong with it, plenty of corridors on the mountain lacked access to natural lighting, but there was something just wrong with this one.
All the doors were shut tight and shrouded in shadow, only the actual meeting room was illuminated.
They really were laying it on thick.
Now all that was left was to wait.
Chris didn’t have to wait long.
There was a shuffle. A feather drifting past. A barely-there giggle—sharp and breathless, like a kid who thought he was actually getting away with something.
He turned around, unsurprised when he saw absolutely nothing behind him for a moment
Then, quick as a whisper, Kilian appeared. Just for a second. Small frame, wide eyes, crouched like he was waiting for the floor to collapse under him. His fingers twitched. His expression flickered between greed and mischief.
And after—he slipped toward the door. A click sounding out as Kilian pushed the door open just enough to squeeze inside.
Hook, line, and sinker.
It took less than a minute before Alabaster and Luke emerged from their work, alerted by the runes set on the door.
The sound of a fizzle rang out and soon enough a drowsy roster was tossed out by a mildly aggravated divine duo, of whom gave all three half-bloods a pointed glare before slamming the door closed and setting new runes.
A second of silence stood as they stared at each other, reveling in the victory over their ten year old opponent.
The rooster blinked up at them—wide-eyed, ruffled, and very much offended.
Luke stared down at him, the triumph still sweet in his chest. Then he crouched, scooping the feathery little menace up into his arms with exaggerated care.
Kilian let out a single indignant bok.
Luke raised a brow. “Yeah, yeah. Say–or chirp what you want, featherbrain.”
The rooster glared—or at least, that’s what Luke assumed he was trying to do. The effect was slightly undercut by the way he leaned against his older brother’s chest and the way his eyes drooped periodically.
Luke sighed, adjusting his hold so Kilian wouldn’t tumble out. The kid was warm and light in his arms, feathers soft against skin.
"Gods," Luke muttered, "you're lucky you're cute."
He stood, letting the other two flank him as they started the walk back to his room, rooster and all. The battle had been brief but glorious. And sure, they might’ve broken a minor rule of hospitality. And yeah, there was a non-zero chance that Hecate was going to yell at Alabaster later for turning her peaceful meeting into a trap.
But honestly?
It had been worth it.
Because it reminded him, reminded them all, that even with a war raging against them, there was never going to be a period of time without some sort of respite, some sort of silliness and childishness.
It almost felt like an omen, a small peak into what came after the war was won.
Luke couldn’t say he wouldn’t mind spending his days chasing after his younger siblings, taking care of the people closest to him and watching them grow alongside him.
But for now there was a war to be fought, so he quickly got to laying the little one down, draping an old t-shirt over him after tying a bell to the bird’s ankle.
Yeah, Luke could see his future, and yeah, it was bright.

Mind Map for the animation project
03/02/2025
I would be lying to you if I said I wasn't confused by my own story. It really felt like a big achcharu being mixed up in my head. So, I had to create a mind map of sorts to help me navigate the plot.
The main reason I was confused is because I have combined inspiration from 3 historical Sri Lankan events which took place in different time periods into one elaborate story:
Yaksha Gothra from King Vijaya's time. (543 BCE)
'Dasa Maha Yodayo'/ Ten Giants from King Dutugamunu's time. (205 BC - 161 BC)
Tragedy that took place on the Ehelepola family during king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe's time. (1814)
Another important thing to note down is that this story is rich in political influence, power struggle and historical significance. So, creating such a story and organizing it into a nice flow of events can take some time. But I think I was able to layout the events in the story well thanks to this mind map I created in class.
Now, let's get into the explanation of the mind map. This mind map contains the following information:
Insight into the Titan clan (The Gini Yaka's family)
Description on the king's personality, capture of the titan clan, his soldier division into 'Army/ fighters' and 'Punishers' 'Hunters'. (My mistake everyone. I changed it to hunters since it sounds much cooler than punishers.)
The chiefs who have been plotting against the king.

Since I made this mind map weeks ago, it might be best for me to create a new one based on my recent post. I may have made slight changes to the story while typing down the research and the chain of events that take place in the story.
Before state 1, I will make sure to create a well updated and solid mind map.

Titan army week, Day 6 Prophecy/Curse
Lee Fletcher woke with a jolt, heart hammering against his ribs like it wanted out. Chest heaving and sweat slicking his skin despite the cool night air inside the cabin.
Around him, the other bunks slept undisturbed. No monsters. No blood. No panic. Just his siblings sleeping peacefully, oblivious to the horror their brother had gotten a glimpse of.
Lee sat up slowly, gripping his sheets like they could anchor him to now. The images still pulsed behind his eyes. The sight of Luke–his best and eldest friend, standing over a battlefield of broken children holding a dual-metal blade that burned with betrayal.
There was more after that, mangled corpses of the innocent and the golden eyes of a stolen face, his own death, Kronos. All of it soaked together in his brain, mixing and melting to the point of impossibility.
He didn’t know exactly what he saw, just that it was horrible and somehow at the fault of someone who’d been nothing but friendly to him for years.
He didn’t know who had sent the dream, or what it meant.
All he knew was that he needed answers.
And unfortunately, he knew exactly where to find them.
The son of Apollo found Luke at Zeus' fist, surrounded by the smell of ash and sweat, dark circles under his eyes and a cigarette tucked between his fingers.
Usually Lee would join him, and they’d talk for hours about things that didn’t matter, avoiding the real reasons they were out of their cabins in the first place.
But tonight he approached hurriedly, grabbing his friend's arm and speaking with a serious tone. “We need to talk.”
Luke raised an eyebrow. “What’s this about? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
The half-blood didn’t pause. “Not a ghost,” he said quietly. “The future.”
The son of Hermes blinked, cigarette hovering near his lips. “What?”
“I saw you,” Lee pressed, grip tightening on Luke’s arm. “In a dream. A prophecy. A nightmare– Whatever it was.You were standing over bodies, Luke. Kids. Campers. My siblings-your siblings! Starting a war, one that would destroy us.”
Luke flinched, almost too fast to notice. That flicker of guilt and recognition, an admission that Lee almost didn’t want to accept.
“I don’t know what you’re planning,” Lee continued, voice trembling from both fear and fury. “But you’re hiding something, and I need you to tell me the truth.”
His friend was quiet. Too quiet. The cigarette burned down between his fingers, forgotten. “That’s not going to happen, I won’t let it happen.” He said at last.
Lee’s breath hitched. “So it’s true, you do know what I saw.”
Luke looked away, jaw clenched. “It’s not going to end like that, you have to believe me.”
“Then tell me what’s going on,” the son of Apollo demanded. “Tell me why the person who taught me how to hold a sword is about to start a war that endangers the very children he swore to love and protect.”
“I’m trying to fix things, Lee.” Luke’s voice cracked with desperation, years of pain bubbling up to the surface. “Camp is broken. The gods are broken. I just... I’m going to do something about it Lee, I’m going to stand up for myself, for us–all of us!”
The archer shook his head, recalling the grotesque images from his dream and trying to reconcile it with his friend’s words. “That’s not what I saw Lu! I saw the suffering of demigods-not gods!–our suffering”
A silence hung between them like a glass balanced on the edge of a counter.
Then Luke quietly spoke. “Please don’t tell anyone. Not yet. I’m going to fix this, fix everything”
Lee crossed his arms over his chest, trying to comfort himself. “Promise me, promise me you aren’t going to hurt anyone.”
The son of Hermes stepped forward to wrap his friend up in a hug, grateful and regretful all at once. “I promise.”
Lee wanted to believe him. Gods, he wanted to.
But the image wouldn’t leave—tiny bodies crumpled and tossed to the side like discarded puppets, the golden eyes that belonged to neither of them, the broken thrones.
He swallowed the ache in his throat. “Okay,” he said softly. “But if I see something-if you break your promise, I will snitch.”
Luke nodded once, sharp and slow. “It won’t come to that.”
They didn’t speak of it after that night. Not directly. Not even as things began to click and roll into motion. The new kid being claimed by Poseidon, a hellhound getting into camp, the lightning bolt going missing.
It worried him, but the archer kept quiet.
And then that kid came into the infirmary on his death bed, and Lee had no choice but to chase Luke down for answers again.
And this time, there was no question, a promise had been broken and he’d been lied to.
Lee found his target loitering by the treeline, a backpack slung over his shoulder and a hesitant look on his face, he didn’t get to react before a bow was drawn and an arrow embedded itself in a tree right next to his head.
The first words out of Luke’s mouth were panicked. “Wait! I can explain, I promise–”
Lee cut him off, teeth barred in aggression. “You just broke your promise! You lied to me and tried to murder a child! The dirt means more to me now than your stupid promises.”
The son of Hermes held up his hands slowly, like his word held any weight now. “It wasn’t like that. He—he was never supposed to die–he’s not going to die”
The archer took a step forward, bow still drawn, jaw clenched so hard it ached. “You poisoned him. You stood over him and watched him writhe! What part of that communicates you're not trying to kill him?”
“I didn’t want this,” Luke insisted, eyes wild. “it was never supposed to turn out like this!”
“But it’s what you chose! You tried to kill him Lu.” Lee shouted, voice breaking. “You promised me. You looked me in the eye and promised you wouldn’t hurt anyone, and now there’s a kid in my infirmary suffering because of you.”
The traitor flinched like the words had struck deeper than any arrow would’ve been able to.
Lee stared at him, searching for the boy he used to know. The one who taught him how to disarm a sword, how to read without hurting his eyes, how to hold hope in his chest keep it there no matter what.
He couldn’t find him.
The son of Apollo lowered the bow just enough to look his former friend in the eye, chest heaving and words sounding pained as he spoke. “I should’ve told Chiron. I should’ve told everyone, the second I had that dream. I stayed quiet because I thought you would never do something like that, I trust you knew better, I trusted you were still the same kind kid I’ve leaned on since forever."
Luke’s voice cracked as he stumbled forward. “I am! I still am.”
“No.” Lee said, voice colder than the Atlantic. “You're not, and you haven’t been for ages, I’ve just been too blind to see it.”
“From this moment forward,” Lee said slowly, like the gods themselves were eavesdropping “I curse you, Luke Castellan. For the blood you’ll spill. For the children you’ll send to die. For every oath you broke and every lie you’ve spoken with malicious intent.”
He stepped closer, eyes glowing radiantly with his father’s power. “May your war end with you. May your mind and body rot in the jaws of what you thought you could control.”
Luke just stood there, too stunned to respond.
The silence stretched for minutes before the thief simply turned around and ran.
Faintly Lee could hear the sounds of chaos behind him, but instead of rushing back he just stood there, crushed under the burden his own secrecy had granted him.
This wasn’t over, not for either of them.
.
.
.
The curse didn’t come true, not for years, and Luke and Lee both had begun to doubt its validity.
It wasn’t until that day far in the future, when a blade finally lodged itself in Luke’s gut and Kronos uttered his last words through mortal lips, that Luke was reminded of the words that damned him.
His last thoughts were of the revenge the fates had inflicted on him for his foolishness, if only he had listened, if only he had changed.
But he didn’t, and now here he was, bleeding out on a floor older than his mortal bloodline.
Luke didn’t have the strength for last words, but that was only because they had already been spoken long ago.
