Turtle boys’ types

I’ve wondered for a long time why kind of girl each of the TMNT 2012 Hamato brothers would go for.  This is what I came up with.

Leo’s Type: the “Bad Girl,” ie Karai/Miwa.  I think that part of the attraction is that Karai works outside of the rules and responsibilities that Leo is always bound by.  She represents something in himself that he longs for but can never have.  The facts that they share a love of martial arts and that she can beat him in a fight are also a factor.  In a turtle-shell, Leo is attracted to a woman strong in body and mind with a wild side.

Donnie’s Type: the “Strong Woman,” ie April.  This one’s hard to analyse because Donnie fell for April at first sight.  This suggests that his foundation for attraction is appearances, but it would be inaccurate to say that he only likes April for her looks.  If April had nothing else to offer but a pretty face, I think Donnie’s infatuation would have eventually flickered out.  But because she showed courage and devotion his crush developed into liking April for who she is inside.  Donnie’s type is a strong and reliable woman.

Raph’s Type: the “Princess.”  (I’m basing a part of this on Raph’s interest in Princess Z of Super Robo Mecha Force Five)  Raph’s emotional sensitivity, which usually finds its expression in his love for animals, may indicate that he would prefer a more “girly girl.”  This does not necessarily mean someone who is weak or vain, but rather someone who requires careful attention and care.  I think that Raph would be attracted to someone who needs him emotionally and who fulfills his emotional needs in return.

Mikey’s Type: the “Fun Girl.”  Even though I have nothing to work off of for TMNT 2012 (Renet’s not here yet, guys), I think that Mikey would be most attracted to a girl like himself.  Because Mikey feels misunderstood by his brothers, he is likely to be attracted to a girl who is similar to himself in personality and style of thinking.  Having a kindred spirit will help him to feel connected to a girl who is as unique and special as he is.
