How did you get into wrestling?
in a very non-traditional way compared to most fans im sure lmao
i think i was like. maybe 10 or 11? my brother got a ps1 from one of his friends and with that a bunch of video games - including smackdown 2. us being tiny beings living somewhere faaaaaaar away from americas reach we hadnt heard of this before, so we assumed it was another fighting game. a little bit of research and playing later we discovered oh my god its actually like. a real thing?? like an actual sport??
somehow, at the time, around here they were showing the weekly shows of wwe on satellite - something we didnt have cause lol it was a luxury back then and internet was a small circle for us (mind you this was in like 2005) so we didnt really have an access to much of anything yet. BUT it turned out my best friend of the time/my half cousin had satellite at her house. as some of our other relatives. so we begged and pleaded to get somewhere to watch stuff at some point (cause honestly we were just fucking intrigued like how is this real and what the fuck does any of this mean especially since sd2 wasnt a regular fighting game so it was. an experience) and i think it was that summer of 2005 when at some relatives house late at night we finally were able to watch an episode of raw (and i think also smackdown, they played the cut episodes back to back on friday nights which is. my beloved <3)
and honestly? a life changing moment
so like yeah i havent been able to let go in about 18 years since then lol. like said its not a very traditional way, most ppl just stumbled upon it or have friends introduce them (ive done this a few times tbf) or it runs in the family etc, but honestly i havent heard anyone else so far getting into this as a child through the games. its usually first the show, then the games, but yeah we did it backwards lol

USM: Ultimate Spider-Man (2012).
MSM or MSM 2017: Marvel's Spider Man (2017).
Comic series titles:
ASM: The Amazing Spider-Man. Sometimes written as TASM.
SSM: The Spectacular Spider-Man. Sometimes written as TSSM.

SM2099: Spider-Man 2099. (Miguel's origin series.)
Frequently used comics universe numbers:
616: The main Marvel comics universe, including ASM, SSM, WSM, and virtually every mainline comic since the sixties.

Other random acronyms you'll see:
SM PS4/MSM, MSM2: the Marvel's Spider-Man games from Insomniac.
OMD: One More Day, the name for the 2007 story arc which broke up Peter & MJ's marriage, among other changes.
BND: Brand New Day, the comic arc immediately after OMD. OMD/BND are really two halves of the same whole, so you'll see people use them interchangeably.
KLH: The Kraven's Last Hunt storyline.
TCW: The Child Within storyline.
JMD: J. M. DeMatteis, a comic writer who did both Kraven's Last Hunt and The Child Within.
I hope this helps and, uh, good luck.

Booking King of the Ring for the years WWE didn't have it
Fantasy booking a King of the Ring winner every year WWE didn’t have King of the Ring.
2003: John Cena wins King of the Ring
In 2003, John Cena was finding his stride as a heel having a WWE Title match against Brock Lesnar and facing The Undertaker on PPV, he was becoming a big star. John Cena (Smackdown) would cheat to beat fan favorite Booker T (RAW) in the finals to become King of the Ring and the rap verses he could’ve cut about all of it would have made it even more better.
2004: Randy Orton (RAW) wins King of the Ring
Randy Orton was in the middle of a long IC Title reign and along with Evolution went over two legends at WrestleMania and was being groomed to be the youngest world champion in WWE history. John Cena now a babyface and US Champion on Smackdown would look to become a 2 time King of the Ring winner and repeat but he would make it to the finals and lose in a First Time Ever match to the WWE Intercontinental Champion and Evolution's Randy Orton from RAW.
2005: Christian wins King of the Ring
Now I know WWE wouldn’t have done this, I know they didn’t see Christian as anything more than a mid card guy but around this time he was white hot around this time and a King of the Ring win could propel him to the main event. Christian (RAW) would beat Chris Benoit (Smackdown) after interference from his problem solver Tomko and set up a WWE Title match against John Cena at Summerslam which Christian wins.
2007: Bobby Lashley wins King of the Ring
I would have gone with Mr. Kennedy but he got injured around this time and was later suspended, so why not go with Bobby Lashley on the condition that he turns heel because he proved in TNA he’s a very good heel. We’re in the finals with Lashley vs King Booker, last year's winner. Lashley is going in as a babyface and Booker as a heel but we have a double turn when Queen Sharmell turns on Booker helping Lashley win and aligning with him.
2009: The Miz wins King of the Ring
The Miz was starting to make his way into the upper mid card as the US Champion and a King of the Ring win in 2009 could’ve better prepared him for his eventual WWE Title win in late 2010. Miz would defeat ex tag team partner John Morrison in the finals.
2011: CM Punk wins King of the Ring
This event would replace Capital Punishment with Punk defeating Mysterio in the finals. This added momentum would make him even hotter after his pipebomb promo and his WWE Title win over John Cena at Money in the Bank, all that much better.
2012: Cody Rhodes wins King of the Ring
Cody Rhodes has just come off of a great Intercontinental Title reign but his moment halted because he dropped the belt to The Big Show of all people. Rhodes defeats Christian in the finals to regain his momentum back and hopefully face Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Title.
2013: Dean Ambrose of The Shield wins King of the Ring
Dean Ambrose was US Champion and considered the leader of The Shield. He would go on to defeat Daniel Bryan in the finals with the help of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns getting a lot of heat since Bryan was white hot around this time.
2014: Cesaro wins King of the Ring
Again I know WWE wouldn’t have gone for this but this would’ve have been the right move since Cesaro was super over at the time. In my booking Cesaro has just won the Intercontinental Title and qualifies for King of the Ring. He would go on to defeat ex tag team partner Jack Swagger in the finals to win King of the Ring.
2016: AJ Styles wins King of the Ring
In 2016, Styles debuted in the WWE and had a great debut year and at this point was only a few months from winning his first WWE Championship. I would have AJ and Cena make it to the finals and have their very first one on one encounter and here is where I’d have AJ turn heel when The Club (Gallows & Anderson) interfere and costs Cena the match giving AJ the win.
2017: Braun Strowman wins King of the Ring
Braun was white hot as a monster heel around this time just wrecking anything and everything in his path. Braun would wreck Roman Reigns in the finals to win King of the Ring and go on to win the Universal Title from Brock Lesnar probably at No Mercy.
2018: Shinsuke Nakamura wins King of the Ring
In 2018, Nakamura won the Royal Rumble then faced AJ Styles for the WWE Championship and then turned heel on AJ after failing to win the title making his character more interesting but also killing his momentum because he lost all the time. Then he had a 5 month reign as US Champion which he only defended once on PPV. Nakamura would defeat Roman Reigns in the finals after a low blow and a Kinsasha. After the match, we have Corey Graves say Nakamura is not only the king of strong style but now has become the King of the Ring. Nakamura would go on to defeat Jeff Hardy for the US Title and hopefully have a much better run with it.
2020:Let's say Drew McIntyre. It was his time as the top guy and despite the pandemic era, I think McIntyre as king would've worked.
2022:Seth Rollins. Peak insufferable douchebag Seth Rollins as king would've been hillarious
2023:Solo Sikoa. It adds to building up Solo up as the enforcer and Roman's right hand and heir to the Bloodline.
Bonus round. Fantasy booking the Queen of The Ring from 2016-2023
2016::Charlotte Flair, there we get Charlotte as Queen of the ring out of the way. This is the obvious choice since they really began to push Charlotte hard at this point
2017:Sasha Banks. Feels right move, plus Queen Bo$$ has a nice ring to it
2018:Alexa Bliss. ALexa was in her peak Goddess era and Queen Alexa would've been over.
2019:Shayna Baszler. Shayna got called up and I feel like this would've been a consolation prize for not winning the title at Mania 36(FOR SOME FUCKING REASON)
2020:Bayley. The year that put Bayley on the map and during her longest reign, so Queen Bayley fits so much
2022:Becky Lynch. Big Time Becks as Queen would've worked. The fans hated her when she beat Bianca, boy would they hate her as the bitchy condescending Queen of the Ring.
2023:Rhea Ripley. Rhea was the hottest name in the company and Mami was on top. Queen Eradicator would've just been perfect.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated, May 2006
The Wrestling Forecaster: Samoa Joe
Tumblr media
(@selamat-linting @scopophil here y'all go)
WHAT’S AHEAD FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2006?
Everyone is predicting huge things out of Samoa Joe. He is TNA’s breakthrough star, and the first TNA wrestler to be the subject of a PWI cover story. Joe is cutting a bloody swatch through the X division, and we predict he’ll continue to dominate that division, piling up wins over Christopher Daniels, A.J. Styles, and Austin Aries before he demands a different type of challenge. The first man to answer the rugged Samoan’s call will be Abyss, and those two big men will push one another to the limit in some of the most physical matches U.S. wrestling fans have ever seen. Joe will ultimately win that feud and then either challenge Sting for the NWA heavyweight title or go after Jeff Jarrett in another epic feud. Samoa Joe will be TNA’s top heel of 2006, but he won’t win the NWA title. That will happen in 2007 with Joe competing as a fan favorite.
WHERE WILL HE BE IN 2011?
In five years, Joe will only be 31 years old. He will sign with WWE in 2009, but the point of contention will be his weight. Joe will be under pressure to conform to the WWE body type, in spite of the pre-existing gentlemen’s agreement that his physique would be a non-issue. With his huge fan following, Joe will be empowered to stick to his guns. WWE Creative will back down, but Joe will be forced to spend many months in the developmental system and then kept out of the top storylines. He will state in an exclusive interview with Matt Brock that leaving TNA was a mistake. (Brock would die from cirrhosis of the liver before the interview was published). By 2011, WWE, realizing its miscalculation, will concede to the fans’ wishes and push Joe to the moon. In 2011, he will take the Raw brand by storm and march inexorably toward the WWE title.
WHERE WILL HE BE IN 2016?
Joe will ultimately drop the WWE title to Carlito and then will gradually be phased out of the title picture. By 2014, he will request his WWE release and embark upon a tour of Japan, where he will quickly become that nation’s top gaijin (foreign) wrestler. In 2016, Joe will win the Pro Wrestling NOAH GHC title, beating his 2005 rival Kenta Kobashi for the honor. Joe’s incredible marketing power will even be enough to get promoters from All-Japan Pro Wrestling to agree to an inter-promotional match pitting Joe against whoever holds the Triple Crown title. Like Terry Funk, Bruiser Brody, and Stan Hansen before him, Joe will make history in Japan.

Behind The Iron Claw : The Von Erich Story Part 3 : The New Generation
Hello Everyone! Here is the third and final part of ‘ Behind The Iron Claw: The Von Erich Story ’. If you haven’t read Parts one and two , please go check them out ! I also want to say thank you for taking the time to read this series and my other articles I have here on my blog! In this article , I’ll be discussing the third generation of Von Erichs in professional wrestling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lacey Dawn Adkisson ( Lacey Von Erich ) was born July 17, 1986. Lacey is Kerry Von Erich’s daughter and Fritz Von Erich’s granddaughter. Lacey stepped foot in the squared circle in 2007 with WWE as a developmental talent for Florida Championship Wrestling ( FCW ) . She was also the first member of the third generation of the Von Erich family to do so. Lacey would make her debut as a valet for Billy Kidman on September 15,2007. She would also be a valet for Ryan O’Reilly ( Konner ) alongside two time WWE Divas Champion, Maryse. In October, she would make her in ring debut against another third generation wrestler , Natalya Neidhart, the daughter of Jim ‘ The Anvil Neidhart ’, granddaughter of Stu Hart, and niece of Bret ‘ The Hitman ’ Hart and Owen Hart. She would also manage Alicia Fox and team with Natalya and Maryse in a match against Fox and Brie and Nikki Bella ( The Bella Twins ). She would be released from her contract after asking to go to OVW. She would spend time on the independent scene and become the Windy City Pro Wrestling Ladies’ Champion in 2009. She won the championship in a Fatal 4 Way match which was her debut for the promotion. Thus, she vacated the championship after being signed to TNA. She would also have a run in Wrestlicious , a women’s wrestling promotion started by Jimmy Hart. Von Erich would make her TNA debut on October 1,2009 as Heel and becoming a member of The Beautiful People ( Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky). She is a one time TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion along with Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kevin Marshall Adkisson and David Michael Ross Adkisson ( Marshall and Ross Von Erich ) are the sons of Kevin Von Erich and grandsons of Fritz Von Erich. Marshall was born on November 10,1992 and Ross was born on June 1, 1988. Lacey Von Erich is their cousin. Marshall and Ross made their profession wrestling debut in 2012 at World League Wrestling, losing in a tag team match against Jason Jones and Brian Breaker. They would also debut for a Japanese promotion called Pro Wrestling NOAH the same year . The brothers would make their wrestling TV debut in 2014 at TNA’s Slammiversary Pay Per View. Kevin would be managing his sons. They would make appearances in TNA from 2014 and 2015 . They would also compete in Action Zone Wrestling , a promotion in Hawaii where they lived. They would win the tag team championships. In the Summer of 2017, they would wrestle alongside Kevin at Rage Megashow in Israel. Therefore , in 2019, Marshall and Ross would find their way to Major League Wrestling ( MLW ). They would become MLW Tag Team Champions after defeating MJF and Richard Holliday ( The Dynasty ) . In 2022, they would face The Briscoes ( Mark and Jay ) at the show for Ric Flair’s Last Match. In 2023, the Von Erichs would appear in AEW and ROH. In 2024, they would team with Dustin Rhodes , the son of the ‘ American Dream ’ Dusty Rhodes , to win the Ring Of Honor World 6-Man Tag Team Championships at AEW Battle Of The Belts XI (11). ( I did do an article on that match and my reaction to it ! ). Marshall and Ross are also the hosts of The Von Erich podcast. They would interview guests such as ‘ The Perfect 10 ’ Baby Doll, and their mother , Pam.
Lacey’s sister , Hollie alongside Marshall and Ross’ sister , Kristen , also have a podcast. It’s called Growing Up Von Erich. They feature guests such as Natalya Neidhart and family members such as Cathy , Hollie and Lacey’s mother.
My Final Thoughts:
I have so much respect for the Von Erich family. I wrote this series to hopefully help all of you , my amazing readers, to understand who they are and how they impacted wrestling through tragedy and triumph. I enjoy both podcasts and enjoy watching Marshall and Ross when they appear on AEW TV. Lacey was also my favorite member of The Beautiful People . This has to be my favorite series I’ve done here on my blog. Trust me, it took hours of research to put the series together.
Love You All,
- Kay

THIS MATCH MAKES ME VERY EXITED, HERE'S WHY
Tumblr media
I can't wait for Bound For Glory, the main event is set. The Challenger is, The Walking Weapon Josh Alexander Vs one half of the Motor City Machine Guns and current IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley. Let's talk about it.
Now I'm not that big of an impact girlie. I was, when I was younger in the UK I couldn't get WWE on TV but I had access to TNA/IMPACT so that was the wrestling I watched in my youth and actually kept watching it for a while. In fact I'm going to go to see IMPACT live in the UK with my dad soon, which is brilliant remembering the time we spent watching IMPACT before. We're going to have such a good time.
This doesn't stop me from being VERY excited about this match. I've still been aware of the product even while I haven't been watching and I watched IMPACT 1000, saw their segment and WOW it was good.
Let's start with Alex Shelley, my little Motor City Blorbo, Shelley was brought into IMPACT using their old business strategy of 'Sign ultra talented ROH guys' that got them Styles, Sabin, Joe and Daniels. From 2004 to 2007 he would be a exciting feature of the X Division winning said title once. His true success would come between 2007 and 2012 in the team known as 'The Motor City Machine Guns' Shelley and partner Chris Sabin became on of the most influential and defining teams in IMPACT history before Shelley left IMPACT to work for ROH and NJPW.
On the other hand Josh Alexander came into IMPACT in 2019 (annoying just after I stopped watching so I missed out) also in the tag division having a lengthy singles run with Ethan Page as 'The North' who, despite being in a company that doesn't usually get considered for being the best, were considered to be one of the best tag teams in the world. And to stress, this was at the same time as The New Day, The Usos, The Young Bucks and FTR so being considered one of the best teams in this time is saying something. When Page departed the company Alexander got the big push, winning the X Division title then cashing in option C to become IMPACT World Champion. Then Moose beat him and ran him out of impact. But upon Alexander's return he reclaimed the title and became the longest reigning IMPACT World Champion of all time. A near year long reign that ended with Alexander having to relinquish the title because of a triceps tear.
Here in lies our conflict. Alexander wants to reclaim his title but he is also exited to wrestle Alex Shelley as he says "No one is a bigger fan of Alex Shelley than I am." or something like that. But Shelley wants to keep this belt at all costs. That's why he belittled Alexander at IMPACT 1000, because Alexander is trying to take away the biggest achievement of his life. An achievement that Alexander has had twice, but in his long career this is Shelley's first IMPACT World Championship reign. And one more detail in this story, that I only realised while writing this, is that while Alex Shelley is the tag partner who left (and then came back) out of him and Chris Sabin, Josh Alexander is the tag partner who stayed out of him and Ethan Page. As much of and IMPACT guy as Shelley wants to claim he is, Josh Alexander stayed and became one of the faces of IMPACT during it's resurgence and continued to be a defining 'IMPACT guy' during the pandemic. As much as I personally love Alex Shelley, there are lots of reasons to cheer Josh Alexander come the 21st.
And I think that's a large part of it. I used to watch IMPACT. I am nostalgic for IMPACT's past, people like Alex Shelley. But presently Josh Alexander is the guy. Alexander doesn't want this to be personal, but Shelley desperately wants to be the guy.
They are the past and present of IMPACT fighting for it's future.
Goddamn I deserve a job backstage working on hype packages.
And I have no idea who's going to win. Maybe people who watch more IMPACT have an idea but I don't. And that's exciting. I am so hyped for this match thank you for listening. I'm so excited to be an IMPACT fan again.
