 Fashionista

I consider myself (for a lack of a better word) obsessed with fashion. But, don't get me wrong, trends are not a big thing for me unless I really like the actual piece of clothing, whether it's by it's cut, color or form. The reason, I think, why I like clothes is because by creating them, you create something that you carry with yourself everyday. It's a mix of creativity, art, imagination and manual labor (of some sort). It's something you can be proud of and it's the first thing that people see about or on you.

I've read some descriptions of a fashionista and I liked some and was surprised by others. Here are examples.

That could apply to me:

"A person devoted to fashion clothing, particularily unique or high fashion. A person not to be called a fashionista would be someone who obsessivly follows trends. REAL fashionistas do not believe in trends. That type of person would be more correctly labeled a fashion whore or a shallow bitch"

This would not:

"A person, usually female, who keeps the large majority of their attention and interest on their clothing/make-up/general appearance, and cares little of anything else. They typically judge others, particularly potential mates, solely on looks and cliques. In lamen's terms, a fashionable sheep."
