Tahu Mistika - Red Version

In my eyes, Tahu had the best visual presence of the Toa Mistika and was the real standout Toa of the wave. That said, the Metru red coloring always made it harder for me to see him as a continuation in the Toa Nuva of Fire’s proud legacy of sets. I would have loved to have added orange back to his color scheme but no BIONICLE limbs were ever produced in orange beyond 2002.

So instead I’ve opted to colorswap the Metru red elements for their brighter Mata red counterparts! This, of course, presented challenges with the mask and feet, but there’s an easy solution there.

There are a few further modifications to add the Nuva chest armor. I feel this was a necessary adjustment to fill in the shape of his armor. As well, I added the obligatory Roborider heads to his shins and added some further engine details to his thrusters. His hips now also feature a grated slope element (61409). This was a part first introduced in 2008 in Exo Force and Agents subthemes and typically only came in dark bluish gray or lime at the time. I always wanted to get the part in red for various creations back in the day, but it was never available to me. All these years later, I’ve finally found occasion to use it on a creation!

I’ve also paired him with Photok here to add a little of that missing orange armor to his color scheme.

Tahu fires up tonight's beginning to my #mocmonday series. Upon yet another Adaptive Armor change, Tahu found himself wielding twin Obsidian Blades and a Magma Aegis, which he could ride as a Lava Board while still holding his new elemental swords. October 29th Kasoda's been hitting the gym. Getting swole to be whole. 🦾 Love building, posing, and writing about this one. I got these two Lego mech sets, and I thought I'd give a shot at making a MOC (My Own Creation) of Toa Vakama using these pieces. It could use some work, but I like how it's starting! The Disk Launcher is probably my favorite part.

October 26th Two bodies, one soul... A vengeful Makuta harnessing the powers of darkness tries to corrupt Kasoda Toa of Fire. During the attempt to convert the unsuspecting Toa to her shadow self, the Makuta took pleasure in witnessing Kasoda's struggle to hold on to her true self. Having the light drained of a Bionicle is something I wish on no Matoran, or Toa... It was during this torcherous act that Mata-Nui felt pity on the suffering Toa. Perhaps too late, a crimson bolt of lighting came down from the heavens in an instant, striking Kasoda's Kanohi. On the verge of complete corruption, it was in this final moment her will power met that of the darkness she felt inside her. Although the tearing of her soul continued for a moment more, Kasoda felt no fear, and felt no pain. The resulting BOOM from the bolt split the Toa unlike anything the Makuta had ever witnessed before. One soul remained, but split between two bodies. Shadow and fire, ying and yang, good and evil, both stood in mortal form. This is how Kasoda and Vosoda were formed. Like twins, they share similar physical attributes, but wield different powers. Being that they are both derivative of the same being, they share memories and consciousness. Always thinking the same thoughts, always having the same feelings, and the further they physically separate, the weaker they become. They almost exclusively talk in unparalleled unison. Although rare, when only one of them is seen alone, she will seemingly be talking aloud to herself, when really it is her other half who might be having a conversation in another part of the island.
