Finally someone who loves wicked science and tobeth as much as I do, if only there was a 3th season...one more season was all elizabeth needed to get toby to love her back, he already felt attracted to her at the end of season 2.

Forget season 2 -- even in season 1 we already see hints that Toby is attracted to her. I'm talking about that scene in which they are meeting at the gym by night and Elizabeth dresses as if this is prom night (honestly, what a queen). He is trying to lure her into a trap, sure, but her proximity always made Toby flustered. If it wasn't for her crazy side, Toby would have go for it a long time ago, and I do think he will in college, after she has time to work on most of issues.

And honestly, EVEN the crazy side seen to have a strange pull on Toby. She embraces the genius potential to the fulliest in a way Toby finds dangerous, but exciting. If Elizabeth was a song, she would be The Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha.

I could talk about this forever and I'm thinking of making a TikTok series where I discuss tropes. This is truly one of my favs and unraveling why its so alluring is difficult because there are so many elements. The idea that there is a perfect someone out there for everyone, the manifestation of the markings/guidance towards soulmate, the situation and how they come tobether. There's also the intense feelings, how their attraction and bond differs from standard encounters and everything and just that much more deep, heartfelt, sometimes dangerous.

I think with romance and love in fanfic, we're drawn to the extremes sometimes and soulmate AUs are one of the safest, sweetest variants of an extreme kind of love.
