arsenal, hoodies and hickies for tobin! (bonus if shes still playing for them and maybe dating someones sibling)
Spill The Tea (Alessia Russo x Press!Reader)
A/N: changed the req a bit bc there is no Tobin without Christen so I made the reader Christen’s sibling
“Is this something I’m going to need to tell Christen or can I trust you to be a responsible adult?”
There’s this thing with Tobin. Ever since she started dating your sister all those years ago, she’s really slipped into the role of the fourth older sister you don’t need.
While she isn’t as nitpicky as Tyler and Christen or as interrogative as Channing, Tobin still liked to harp on you quite a lot. So you’ve heard this question come out of her mouth more times than you can count. And by now you know better than to expect Tobin to keep a secret from Christen.
You tilt your head towards her, a singular eyebrow raising up in question as your arms stay halfway through your training shirt. Of all times Tobin could’ve started a conversation of course she had to wait until you were quite literally trapped with nowhere to escape.
“Why do you think I have anything to tell you?”
“You have a hickey the size of Maine on your neck.”
You follow her eyes down to your skin. Your still very bruised skin.
The memory of mischievous eyes sparkling as you tried to sneak out this morning flashes clearly through your mind as you hastily pull on a neck warmer from your cubby.
You can still feel Tobin’s eyes on the side of your face as you try to busy yourself pulling on the last of your clothes.
“You’re seeing someone, don’t lie.”
“And why do you think so?” You look up to see Tobin giving you a look. You roll your eyes. “Apart from the hickey.”
“You’re really going to make me play detective today?” When you don’t respond Tobin lets out an annoyed grunt. “Where to start? Well you’ve been sneaking in at 6 in the morning for the past couple of weeks.”
It’s not your fault you haven’t been given a drawer yet. Frankly the number of times you’ve stayed over should’ve already gotten you a place to store your things but Alessia’s been extremely paranoid about letting you leave traces of yourself at hers. Something about how her England teammates like coming over unannounced. A lot. Better to keep no trace of you at her place lest a blabbermouth blabbers too much.
“And changing your phone password? Not cool, dude.”
You cringe at the memory of Tobin storming into your room at half past twelve the other day, exasperated at the fact that a). you weren’t up and making her breakfast yet, and b). she couldn’t get into your phone to doordash some food.
You and Tobin shared everything. Cooking duties. The occasional snapback. Your phone passwords. But that last one was the first thing you changed when you started seeing Alessia.
“And finally, this,” Tobin pokes at the light blue hoodie peeking out of your duffle, “is not yours.”
You try ducking under her arm to get out of the locker room but Tobin grabs a firm hold of your training top, jerking you back towards her.
You’re nose to nose now and the forward has no problem using her height advantage to stare you down. “I’ll ask again. Who have you been locking lips with?”
You scowl. “Well you’re playing detective today right? Guess.”
Tobin’s lips pinch shut, a displeased look on her face.
Before she can retaliate, a brief call of her name by Kim has Tobin turning away. When her hands loosen their hold, you bolt, taking full advantage of Tobin’s brief dip of attention.
Unbeknownst to you, a pair of blue eyes follow you out of the room.
It isn’t until you’re already stretching on the sideline that long legs catch up to you. A soft smile breaks onto your face at the sight of other girl, hands opening and closing as you mime at her to come closer for a kiss.
For a second you think Alessia's going to crumble to your demands.
And then you see her panicked expression.
“Did Tobin figure out we’re dating?”
Sighing, you push yourself off the ground, taking care to brush grass off your legs. “No, Tobin’s smart but she isn’t that smart.”
Alessia gives you a look that has you wondering if she’s offended on the behalf of the striker.
You roll your eyes before giving her a light shove. “Relax, all she saw was your hoodie. She’s not going to know it’s yours.”
Alessia’s eyes widen at the mention of the sweatshirt you snuck out of her house this morning. Usually it’s cute and all and she really does love seeing you in her clothes, but faced with the fact that it’s branded with the UNC logo on the front? Or the fact that Tobin knows you followed in Christen’s footsteps and went to Stanford instead of Chapel Hill?
“My hoodie? Babe! Of course she’s going to know it’s mine!”
“Relax,” you repeat, hands coming up to rub at her tense shoulders. “There are four of you who played at UNC who are on the team now. She’ll be too busy trying to figure out if it’s you, Lotte, or Foxy to ever find the real culprit.”
If anything, your words only seem to agitate her more. Alessia slaps your hands away, arms crossing over her chest. “You’d rather Tobin think you’re dating Lotte or Em over me?”
Safe to say, any words you try to defend yourself with only digs you deeper into the hole.
Tobin’s pleasantly surprised to see you moping on the couch later that night.
.
It doesn't take as long as you’re expecting for Tobin to figure it out.
You’re doing your weekly check-in with your sister a couple days later when Christen’s face suddenly widens into a teasing smirk.
“So Tobin tells me you have a new girlfriend.”
You resist the urge to fling your phone across the room. Instead, you do the mature thing and hang up the phone.
Christen doesn’t look impressed when she calls back and you pick up.
“Oh don’t be a wuss. There’s nothing you can do without me knowing. So spill. Tell me all about her.”
 You sigh, pinching the bridge of your nose. “Really, Chris? This is what you want to talk about?”
Even from a continent away you can see the megawatt smile being sent your way. “Couldn’t take my number so you had to take out a girl who has it too, huh?”
Tobin cringes in her room when she hears the telltale sound of your phone crashing against the wall.

I never wanted this, but maybe it's not such a bad thing part 3 (Preath x Reader)
It's been a long couple of weeks, but I finally finished part 3! This is not edited so mind any mistakes. I'm not sure if I'll do another part yet, let me know what you think. There's a bit of a time jump at the end. I hope you enjoy!
Warnings: Smut
Part one, Part two
Words: 6.1K
As Tobin went to lie down next to Christen, I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her down in the middle and peppering her cheek with kisses. Tobin giggled, pecking my lips, "This isn't our normal order."
"Gotta spice things up occasionally. Do you want to come surfing with me tomorrow Tobes? I have a spare board and wetsuit, we just have to stop by my house. Maybe the three of us could get brunch after?"
Christen nudged Tobin when she took a while to answer. I appreciated what she was doing, but tonight was a big step already. I didn't want her to feel pressured. "You know what, I would love that. You can't judge how well I do though, it's been a while since I've been."
"Can I come watch?"
"You wanna watch us with our wet suits down Chris? I know Tobin enjoyed it once upon a time."
Tobin went red, hiding her face against Christens shoulder. Christen laughed, patting Tobin's shoulder, "You know what, I don't even blame her. There's no denying you have great abs."
"It's for the ladies, two in particular. You might know them, dark haired, insanely beautiful. Ring a bell?"
Tobin finally looked at me again, smirk growing, "Oh you mean those marine buddies of yours we met the other day?"
"Exactly." I kissed them both, soft and slow, "You two are the most beautiful people I've ever met. And I know people just say that, I know there are subjectively more attractive people out there, but to me, there's no competition, no one compares to you guys."
Tobin kissed me, filled with the same passion as the first time, "You're not so bad yourself."
Christens eyebrows furrowed,  "Agreed. What's gotten into you? I'm not complaining, I've just never seen you so sappy."
"I'm just happy. I've been in a lot of relationships in my time, some great, some not, but I've never felt this way before. We're soulmates, I know it's kinda the whole concept behind it, I just don't believe that's the only thing that influences this. You know I was terrified coming into this, that I would only feel the soulmate connection, nothing more. So yeah, I'm happy that's not the case, because you two are amazing. Sorry for being sappy, I'm just trying to be more honest. It's not always easy for me, I want us to last though so I'm trying."
"Hey, there's nothing wrong with you being sappy Y/n/n. It's just different so I got a bit worried maybe something was wrong. We know it's hard for you to talk about feelings, but we're always here for you. Even if it's not always good feelings, you can always come to us, even if it's just one of us. We will never judge you or make you feel like you can't talk about it."
I fought back the tears, in all my relationships no one had ever cared about me as much as they did, I had never felt like I could open up as I did with them. I mean what I had already told them more than I had with anyone, Ali and Ash included, "Thank you. It works both way, anything you guys need, I'm here for you."
The movie had just finished, I knew it was late, but looking at my phone confirmed it. I kissed them both before reluctantly sitting up on the side of the bed. "It's getting late, I should head back to my room."
A hand on my arm stopped me, turning around I found Tobin looking up at me with a small, unsure smile, "You could stay?"
"Are you sure? You don't have to push yourself Tobin. We've already made a lot of progress today. I don't want you to move too quickly and be uncomfortable."
"I know it's quick, but honestly tonight has been amazing and I don't want you to go. We would love if you stayed if you maybe wanted to."
"I um, I don't want to wake you guys up in the middle of the night with my nig-"
Christen came back from the bathroom, kissing me before I could finish, "We don't care about that Y/n, if you have a nightmare then we'll be here to help you through it. This is part of being with you and we're okay with that."
"Okay, let me go brush my teeth and get changed. I'll be back in a minute."
It took me a long time to fall asleep, the worry of having a nightmare and waking them up running through my mind. Despite what they said, I didn't want want them to deal with it on the first night we stayed together. It was still embarrassing that after a year, I still had nightmares.
To my complete surprise, I didn't have a nightmare. I had had one every night since camp started which was typical when staying in an unfamiliar place, but with them I didn't. It wasn't the longest sleep, but I had slept the best I had in a long time. Christen and Tobin were still asleep when I woke up so I kissed their cheeks and slipped out of bed to get coffee from down the street. Apparently everyone wanted coffee this morning so it had taken longer then anticipated. When I got back Tobin was the only one awake, she looked sad until she actually looked up at me. I guess it had looked like I had just left them. I gave her a long, slow kiss before handing her the coffee.
"Good morning beautiful. I'm sorry I should have messaged you, the line was longer than I anticipated."
"Good morning baby, it's okay, I'm just glad you came back."
"There's no where else I'd rather be. We're going surfing remember."
Tobin pulled me closer so I was straddling her waist, "I admit I was scared you had just left us."
"Never. I promise if I was ever going and not coming back I will let you know. Do you want me to let you know even if I'm just popping out for coffee?"
She avoided my eyes, cheeks turning red, "Maybe, just for a little while at least. I'm sorry, I ju-"
I cupped Tobin's cheek, kissing her forehead, nose, cheeks and lips, "Don't apologise Tobin, if it makes you more comfortable then I'm 100% okay with it. All it takes is 2 seconds to send a text."
Christen rolled over, sleepy smirk in place, "What's going on here?"
I brushed a piece of hair out of Tobin's face, before leaning down and pecking Christens lips, "Just some morning reassurance. I got you coffee."
---
Sloane ran up to me, cuddling into me as I picked her up. It had been a while since we had proper cuddles. At home we always end the night with cuddles before she went to bed. It was a routine I've missed. Ashlyn and Ali hugged me as well, before Ashlyn spoke up, "Hey Y/n/n, do you wanna get lunch with us today? It's been a while since we hung out. We miss you."
Guilt hit me instantly. I hadn't really seen them much recently with all my time going to Tobin and Christen. I also felt bad because they didn't know about us yet. Normally, I told Ash everything, but I had been so caught up in the newness of my relationship, I hadn't told them. Tobin, Christen and I had lunch plans, I couldn't say no to Ash though, I guess I had some making up to do, "I would love to."
"Awesome, meet you here in an hour."
I went straight to Christen and Tobin's room, nerves starting to rise as I waited for them to answer. I didn't know how they would react to me cancelling last minute. Christen answered with a wide smile,  "We really need to get you a key."
"Uh yeah."
Tobin eyed me suspiciously, "What's wrong?"
"I'm sorry."
"What for? What happened?"
"Um I need to cancel lunch. I'm sorry. Of course I wanted to have lunch with you, but then Ash asked me to have lunch with them because they miss me and I haven't actually spent any time with them lately and I actually really miss them and I feel like a bad sister and a bad girlfri-"
The rambling died as Christens lips connected with mine, "Y/n, take a breath. It's okay, we understand. Ash is your sister, you need to spend time with her. We can hang out after."
"Are you sure?"
Tobin was the one this time to take my hand and kiss me, "Yes, go have fun with your family. We expect to see you tonight though."
I pulled them down on the bed with me, both of them cuddling into my sides, "Wouldn't miss it for the world. I've got just under an hour until I meet them so we have some cuddle time."
Tobin cupped my cheek, lips gliding across mine, filled with passion and want. Her tongue ran across my bottom lip, slipping in as my lips parted. We fought for dominance with me quickly winning. Tobin pulled me on top of her, hand slipping under my shirt, resting on my lower back. After a few minutes of making out, I remembered Christen was there and slowly pulled away, breathing heavy.
"Sorry Chris."
Christen just smiled, guiding me over to her instead, "Don't apologise, I don't mind a good show every now and then. Can I get in on the action though?"
I hovered just above her, lips brushing hers, "I suppose that could be acceptable."
I lost track of how long we were making out, but when hands started wandering, I reluctantly pulled away, "We need to stop because I need to leave soon and if we keep going I don't think I'll be able to stop."
Christen groaned as I settled between them again, "I hate that you're right."
Even though I was missing out on time with Christen and Tobin, I was glad that I agreed to lunch. It hadn't hit me how much I missed them until I was sitting with them, colouring a picture with Sloane as I talked with Ali and Ashlyn. We made it maybe half an hour before Ashlyn asked the question I was fully expecting, "So what's going on with you lately? You've been absent lately, is everything okay?"
"Uh yeah, honestly everything is amazing. I need to tell you something, I didn't mean to hide it from you, I just got distracted I guess. Christen, Tobin and I are together."
Ali looked confused, "Wait, as in girlfriends? I thought you weren't interested in the whole soulmate thing?"
"I'm not, but we talked that day in the elevator about getting to know each other before I shut it down completely. The more I got to know them, the more I fell for them. I've never felt this way before. I haven't had a nightmare in almost two weeks since I've been staying with them. I get so giddy when I'm around them, like I never want to leave."
"That's amazing Y/n. We're so happy for you."
"You're not mad I didn't tell you?"
Ash hugged me tightly, kissing my cheek, "Of course not, it's new, exciting, you got sucked in. I don't know if you remember, but I was the same way with Ali. I'm really glad you're happy Y/n, you deserve it. Even if it is with the soul mates you never wanted."
"Yeah well, they're not so bad after all. Tobin still has some worries that I'll change my mind, but she's trying and I'm doing my best to reassure her. I hate it that she doubts me, but she's worth it. Christen is pretty much what you see is what you get, but there's a side of Tobin that no one else sees. The soft, loving, shy, somewhat insecure side. I love that side of her and I want to be privy to it for as long as she'll let me."
We spent a few hours hanging out, eating and playing at the park before the kids started getting grumpy so we made our way back to the hotel. I went back to Christens and Tobin's room where we spent the rest of the night watching movies and cuddling.
---
Camp had finally come to an end, meaning by the end of the day, all three of us would be in a different part of the country until the next camp. It was only just over a month, but I already knew I was going to miss them. I hugged them tightly, trying to keep my tears away. It wasn't working though, "I'm going to miss you."
Christen sniffed, hiding her face further against my chest, "I wish we could stay together."
I held her tightly, hands running along her back as she cried. My own tears slowly running down my cheeks. Over the last few weeks, I had gotten used to being around them, I loved being with them. The last thing I wanted was to be away from them. I know there was facetime and it was only going to be a month, but it wasn't the same as falling asleep next to them, cuddling with them, being around them. There was also a slight fear of something changing. We had only been together for a few weeks, what if the distance so early on changed something, affected our relationship. I tried my best to push that thought away, instead focusing on making the most of the time with my girls. I reached out pulling Tobin back into the hug, holding her just as tight as Christen. We cuddled on the bed with me in the middle, both of them holding me tightly.
Tobin had been quiet all morning, and I was starting to get worried. Christen had popped out so it gave me the chance to talk to her. I had a feeling I knew what was wrong. Despite the progress we had made, I knew she still worried that I would change my mind. I hated that she still worried, but I would keep doing everything I could to make her worries go away, even if it took a while.
"Hey, what's going on Toby? You've been quieter than normal today."
"My thoughts are going crazy right now."
I sat down on the ground in front of her, pulling her so she was sitting in my lap, "You have no idea how much I'm going to miss you Tobin. Just the idea of being away from you hurts. You can expect messages and facetimes every day, you'll be sick of me by the end of it. There'll be no going back though, you're stuck with me now."
"It's a good thing I don't mind then isn't it?"
"Definitely. You can call me anytime, I can't promise to always answer straight away, but I'll do my very best."
"Ditto. Thank you Y/n."
"What for?"
"For being so understanding. Most people would have ran for the hills if their girlfriend doubted them as much as I do you, but you've stuck by me."
"Hey, while I hate that you still doubt me sometimes, I understand why you feel the way you do. I'm serious about us so I'm willing to provide as much reassurance as needed for as long as needed. A bit of distance isn't going to change that."
---
Today had been crazy. Between practice, media and team bonding, I was only able to reply to maybe one or two texts from Christen and Tobin. I had made sure to tell them I was busy, but it didn't make me feel any better. As soon as I got home and showered, I made sure they were awake before facetiming. It was 2am and I was exhausted, but talking to them made it worth it. Tobin was the only one awake, her tired self answering almost immediately.
You look tired Toby.
I am.
You should get some sleep.
I wanted to talk to you first, I missed you today.
I missed you too baby. I'm sorry I couldn't reply much today, it was hectic.
It's okay, in our job it happens. Thank you for calling, even though you look like you're about to pass out. I know it's late, but have you been sleeping okay?
Our facetimes are my favourite part of the day, I wouldn't ever miss it if I could help it. Sometimes, the nightmares are back, not as frequent, but they're there and I miss cuddling with you two.
Aww baby, I'm sorry. Two weeks and we'll be back together. We can talk to coach about us sharing a room this time if you might want to? I mean you stay with us anyway, might as well not take up another room.
I would love that
We talked for a bit longer before the yawns wouldn't stop and we decided it was best to get some sleep.
Can you stay on the phone with me?
Of course. Goodnight Tobin, I love you
My eyes widened at the admission that slipped out. Yes it was true, I had fallen in love with them both, but it wasn't supposed to come out yet. I had intended to wait longer before telling them because it felt too soon to have those feelings. I fought the urge to hang up and hide as a grin slowly appeared on Tobin's face.
I love you Y/n. Do you uh feel this way about Chris as well?
I do, I'm in love with you both. It wasn't supposed to come out this early though. Do you think I should tell her?
Definitely, I won't be able to stop myself from saying it and I'm almost certain she'll feel the same way about you.
Okay, get some sleep and hopefully we can squeeze in a call with Chris in the morning
I was woken up by talking on the other end of the phone. It wasn't just Tobin. I peeked at the phone, seeing Christen had joined. It was 10:30am meaning it was only 7:30am for them.
You're awake early
Good morning sleepy head, I woke up when Chris joined
Good morning baby, you looked like you slept well
I think knowing Tobin was there made it easier.
I'm sorry I missed the call last night
It's okay Chris. I need to tell you something
What is it?
I accidently let it slip out to Tobin last night, but you should know that I love you
A wide grin appeared instantly as she replied with no hesitation, I love you Y/n
---
Ashlyn, Ali and the kids had already left for the next camp having decided to spend an extra couple of days. A mini holiday of sorts. They had asked if I wanted to come, but I had some last minute work to finish. It had only been just over a month, but I was at the point where I really missed my girls. I had never expected to miss them as much as I did, but it was hitting me hard and I was just down. I didn't want to bring them down with my mood. I hadn't heard from Christen and Tobin today, besides a good morning text so I was drowning my emotions in work.
The doorbell rang loudly throughout the house. I was tempted to ignore it, but decided against it and threw the door open, freezing when I saw the two girls I had been missing like crazy. When I snapped out of it, my arms wrapping around them both tightly. I sunk into their touch, pulling them closer when one of them tried to pull away. I didn't want to let them go yet.
"I missed you so much. What are you doing here?"
"We had a few days off before camp and really just wanted to see you. I know a few days would have made much of a difference, but well we missed you Y/n."
I kissed them both soft and slow, savoring the feeling of their lips, "I'm glad you're here."
We cuddled on my bed for a while before Christen volunteered to get dinner while I finished up some work with Tobin cuddled into my side. It didn't take long to finish the work that needed doing tonight. Once I put my laptop down, I pulled Tobin onto my lap, kissing her softly, "I missed you two so much Toby. I'm really glad we're back together."
Tobin rest her head against my shoulder, "Us too Y/n. Thank you for all the random facetimes and reassurances. I know it meant a lot of late nights for you."
"Seeing you and Chris is worth endless late nights."
"I love you Y/n."
"I love you too Toby."
Kisses were placed along my neck, a quiet moan escaped as I angled my head to give her more room. Tobin straddled my waist, pushing me back before leaving slightly harder kisses across my jaw and down my throat until she reached my collar bone. I gripped her hips, moaning a little louder this time as she started sucking and scraping my skin with her teeth. "Fuck T-Toby."
I was caught up in the pleasure that I didn't notice that Christen had come back until a second pair of lips attached themselves to my neck. Before I could open my eyes lips attached to mine. I instantly knew it was Christen, "Welcome back Chris."
"How'd you know it was me?"
"You two kiss differently, both just as amazing, but different."
Christen ran her fingers from one collar bone to the other, "I see you two had fun while I was gone."
"Toby how many marks did you leave?"
"Just a few."
"Tobin! Everyone's going to see them."
"I didn't hear you complaining."
I flipped her over, "Paybacks a bitch."
"Fuck Y/n," Tobin moaned as I nipped and sucked at her skin, before she pushed my head down closer to her breasts.
"Are you sure?" I asked looking at both Christen and Tobin.
Tobin nodded quickly while Christen reached over, slipping Tobin's shirt off with an innocent smile. I hooked my hand around the back of her neck, accidently gripping her hair slightly and connected our lips in a lingering kiss. Christen moaned quietly against my lips, making me smirk, "Don't think you're safe Chris. I know this side was you."
Christen just shrugged as I went back to taking in the half naked Tobin currently pinned under me, "You are stunning Tobin."
I lent down, kissing along her bra line leaving dark marks as I went. Tobin was squirming, trying to push my head further down. Before she could, I pulled away, moving over to Christen instead. Tobin whined, but watched closely as I started on Christens neck, leaving a few dark marks before moving down to the top of her t-shirt, waiting for her permission before slipping her shirt over her head, "How did I end up with two absolutely stunning women."
As I attacked Christens chest, I felt Tobin's hands start to wander, drawing random patterns under my shirt, along my back and stomach getting dangerously close to the waist band of my shorts. I finally pulled away when Tobin tugged at my top. She pulled it off, both of them staring at my abs. Christen reached up, running her fingers down my stomach stopping at my waistband and playing with the draw strings, making me shiver at the feeling. I laced my fingers with hers, kissing the back of her hand.
"Are you sure you guys want to do this? We don't have to go past this." I didn't want them to think that they had to do this if they thought it was too early. Sex wasn't that important to me, I just wanted to be with them. I was also worried that maybe they were only doing this with me out of obligation and that they didn't actually want me as part of it. I had also never done it with 2 people before, I didn't know if I would be any good. It was a big step in our relationship and honestly, I was nervous.
Christen squeezed my hand, as Tobin pecked my lips, "Baby, you have no idea how much we talked about you during our less than innocent facetime calls when you were busy."
"You have no idea how much we want you. We can wait if you want to, if you're not sure about this."
"Really? Y-you t-talked about me?"
"More than we would admit. We love you Y/n, we are so insanely attracted to you it's not even funny."
"I-I-I've never been with t-two p-people before."
"It's not much different to one, just do what you do, but double it. You'll figure out what we each like pretty easily and we're here with you every step of the way. There's no rush if you're not ready yet Y/n."
I looked at them for a second. I was ridiculously attracted to them. There was no doubt that I wanted them. I smirked, pulling Christen up and tangling my fingers in her hair, tugging lightly as I connected our lips, biting her bottom lip gently as I pulled away, "I think I already know what you like."
Christen moaned, nails digging into my back to pull me against her, "Y-y-you're not w-wrong."
Tobin smirked, running her fingers across Christens back, "It drives her crazy."
My lips attached to Christen neck as I pushed her back, working my way down her chest and reaching round to unclip her bra. My fingers ran dipped between her breasts, trailing beneath them. Her breath hitched, fingers digging into my thighs, "P-please."
I glanced at Tobin, feeling bad about giving all the attention to Christen. Tobin just nodded, moving to take one of Christens nipples into her mouth as I followed suit with the other. Christen gasped hands tangling in both of our hair. It didn't take long for her to turn into a moaning mess, bucking her hips and trying to push my head down. I pulled away, waiting for her to nod before slipping her pants and underwear off. I took her in for a second, admiring her long tan legs, toned stomach, small but perfect breasts and beautiful eyes filled with want.
Before moving any further with Christen, I connected my lips with Tobin. I didn't know what I was doing with two of them, but I wanted them to both feel wanted. I took my time with Tobin, with the help of Christen, stripping her down and working her up. I couldn't get enough of their moans, their touches, their pleads for more. It was driving me crazy, but I wanted to focus on them first. I figured the best way to ensure pleasure for them both was to have us all participating. I guided Christen so she was hovering over Tobin's face.
Christen moaned loudly at the same time I licked a line through Tobin's folds drawing a muffled moan which drew another needy moan from Christen. As Tobin worked Christen closer to the edge, I focused back on exploring Tobin. My tongue circled her clit, her hips bucking for more. Two fingers slipped easily into her, a loud, muffled moan slipped from Tobin. I pumped my fingers slowly, curling every few thrusts as I pulled away, watching as Tobin wrapped her arms around Christen's thighs, eating her out faster and harder, muffled moans falling uncontrollably. Christen head was thrown back, loud, needy moans slipping out as she reached behind her, gripping the head board for support.
As much as I wanted to get them to come at the same time, I wanted to take my time getting to know what Tobin liked, what drove her crazy. It didn't take long for Christen to tense, moans louder than before, legs shaking as she shook. Once her high passed, she fell back against the headboard, breathing heavy. My fingers never stopped, maintaining the same slow pace that slowly turned Tobin into a moaning, pleading mess. I lent forward, kissing Tobin, moaning at the taste of Christen left behind. Christen moved behind Tobin so her head was resting against her stomach, hands moving to play with Tobin's breasts. Her back arched, hips bucking. "B-baby p-p-please. I-I need-"
Tobin cut herself off with a moan as my fingers curled. I kissed Christen before moving back down, fingers thrusting harder and faster as my tongue flicked her clit. My lips wrapped around her clit, sucking hard. She tightened around my fingers, spasming and tensing as she fell over the edge. I helped her through before cleaning her up and pulling away. Christen took my hand cleaning my fingers as I settled beside them.
"H-holy fuck y-you're amazing baby," Tobin managed between ragged breaths. I laughed, kissing her cheek and pulling her closer.
"I aim to please."
After catching her breath, Tobin turned over kissing between Christens breasts before turning to me, "You've got way too many clothes on and we're so not done yet."
---
Things were getting hard. Not with Christen and Tobin, we were still going strong almost two years into our relationship. Things weren't always easy. Between navigating a three person relationship, living in three different cities and them spending some time playing overseas, we had our struggles, but we were stronger for it. The problem was, I was really starting to struggle with the distance. We saw each other as often as we could, facetimed pretty much everyday even when they were overseas. It sucked, but it was manageable until recently that is. All I wanted was to be with them, but it didn't seem to be possible. I was almost constantly down, irritable, distracted if I wasn't with or talking to them. I cried after hanging up with them and crying wasn't something I normally did.
This was something I had tried my best not to let them see. There was nothing that could be done and the intensity of these feelings would likely fade in a few weeks, so I didn't see the point in worrying them. Ashlyn and Ali had picked up on my mood change, they hadn't brought it up yet, but they had been trying to take my mind off it without pushing too much. They knew I would bring it up if I wanted to.
"Hey, you okay?" Ali asked sitting on the deck chair next to me. I had just finished talking to Christen and Tobin
"I'm not, but I will be."
"I'm here if you want to talk about it Y/n."
I sighed, "I just miss them, more than I know how to cope with right now."
"I get that. Have you talked to them about it? Maybe they can help make things a little easier to cope with?"
"There's nothing we can do about it, I don't want to worry them. I'm sure it'll pass, if not I'll figure it out. Thank you Ali."
The next day, I was sitting down on the beach after surfing, knees pulled up to my chest as I watched the waves. It was the spot where things were most peaceful, where my mind wasn't quite so loud. I was completely zoned out when a hand landed on each knee. I recoganised the ring on one of the hands. It was Christen. I didn't look though, they weren't supposed to be there so I had convinced myself that I was imagining things. When nails ran down my back, I snapped out of it and actually looked beside me. They were actually there. Sitting beside me, looking rather concerned. I lent against Tobin's side as Christens arm wrapped around me. I couldn't bring myself to say anything or even really be excited that they were there. I was too stuck in my head.
Tobin kissed my forehead, "What's wrong my love?"
"You don't have to tell us right now, but you've been off the last little while and we're worried."
At that I couldn't stop the tears from falling as I cried against Tobin's shoulder. They had seen me cry a few times, but it was normally short and quiet. This time though, I let everything out, not that I could stop it anyway.
"I'm struggling."
"Can you tell us what with?"
"You guys not being here. The distance. I miss you so much it hurts. I just want you guys here and I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact that you're not."
Christen laced her fingers with mine, kissing my temple, "We're not doing much better. We actually wanted to talk to you about that though."
"About what?"
Tobin was the one to speak this time, hand still running across my back, "Moving in together. I know there's quite a lot of logistics around that, but when we were overseas, living together and seeing each other everyday, we realised how much we actually wanted to be close together, live together permanently. It was great, but there was one major thing missing."
"W-what?"
"You Y/n. Every day we would wake up and go to bed, wishing more than anything that you were with us. I know there's a lot we would need to figure out, like where, when, that sort of thing, but will you move in with us?"
I pulled them both into a hug so quickly that we fell backwards. Maybe it wouldn't be the easiest thing to figure out, but all I wanted was to be with them, "Yes, yes I would love that. I don't even care where, I just want to be with you guys."
I held them for a minute before finally realising that they weren't supposed to be here, "Why are you guys here? Don't you have training?"
"You haven't been yourself lately, as much as you tried to hide it, we noticed. You weren't smiling, laughing or joking as much, you looked tired all the. We got worried, Ali and Ash said something was up but you weren't talking to them. There was only one day of training before we had a few days off so our coached let us go. It's only for a few days, but we wanted to come see you, see if we could finally get you to talk to us."
"Thank you. I really needed to see you both. I love you."
Tobin kissed me, filled with passion and want as always, I sunk into it, holding her close. The first kiss once I saw them again was always the best. The sense of peace and calmness that washed over me when I kissed them was a feeling I never wanted to go away, "I love you Y/n. I know you didn't want to worry us, that was the one thing Ali could tell us, but please just talk to us next time. You not talking to us, worries us more."
I left a lingering kiss against Christens lips and resting my forehead against hers, "I'm sorry, I didn't want to worry you. I promise to talk to you in the future. Thank you for coming."
"Always."
"I vote LA." Tobin spoke up making me pull away from Christen confused as to what she was talking about. "I vote we move to LA. Warm weather, good surf and I know Angel FC might be interested in signing me."
Christen looked at Tobin, smile slowly making it's way onto her face. I guess they hadn't talked about it, "R-really? You'd want to move to LA?"
"I know how much you love Angel FC and LA, I wouldn't ask you to leave that. Besides we know Y/n is obsessed with surfing."
"I wouldn't be opposed to that, I can work from anywhere. Only thing is Ash, Ali and the kids, I don't want to miss seeing them grow up so it would mean frequent trips to see them. If you can deal with that then I'm all for LA."
"Of course we can, they're your family. We'll figure it out in time."
"Sooner rather than later please."
They both held me tightly as I watched the water once again. I felt lighter, like a weight had been lifted. Not just because of the idea of moving in with them, but because they knew I needed them and they didn't hesitate to fly out for me. At one point they were the people I didn't want, but now I couldn't imagine my life without them. Maybe things weren't always going to be easy, there will be up's and downs, change and sacrifices. With them though, it would all be worth it.

The end is near - Tobin Heath x reader
If you have any requests for anybody send me a message and i’ll do it when i can :)
It was inevitable. The USWNT finished their friendly matches against South Korea and now Tobin is jetting back off to England to play with her club again. You were dreading this day, as you do all the other times. You’re just grateful to spend two weeks with Tobin. Because of the both of your busy and usually conflicting schedules, it very rarely happens. Walking into the airport, both your hands are intertwined and Tobin keeps rubbing her thumb along your hand to help keep you calm as big crowds freak you out. Which is weird as you’ve played at world cup finals with way bigger crowds. After security and getting some food, the pair make their way to Tobin's gate to wait. Tobin gently pulls you onto her lap, causing you to cuddle into her.
"Are you okay? You're being very cuddly and touchy. Not that I'm complaining" Tobin questions.
"I don't want you to go" You mumble into Tobin's neck.
"I'm not going for long, my love. Besides, when the NWSL season finishes you can come over and be with me" You hum as Tobin draws small patterns on your Re-inc sweat pant covered thigh.
Then the worst happens. Tobin's flight gets called over the PA system, which makes you jump in fright. You grip onto Tobin more and Tobin attempts to calm you down.
"I'll be the last one on, you've got me for a few more minutes"
Once those few minutes passed, the final boarding call announcement rang through the airport speakers and that's when Tobin starts to stand up, helping you to your feet. The air hostess noticed Tobin is due on the flight so she gave them a few more minutes. You wrap your arms around Tobin's neck with Tobin doing the same but around your waist, pulling you closer, if that was possible.
"I have to go darling" The pair pulls away and you give Tobin a quick but loving kiss before pulling away and picking Tobin's bag off the ground.
"Text me when you land, so I know you're safe"
"Always do. I love you Y/N"
"I love you more Tobs, now go before I make you stay" Tobin chuckles and starts to walk to the air hostess to scan her ticket.
You watch as Tobin walks down the tunnel but turns around to flash you the same very smile you fell in love with almost three years ago. You walk back to the car with a few tears falling down her cheek. As you get into the team car and get organised to start the journey back to the hotel, you get a few texts from Tobin.
I love you
I miss you
I'll see you soon, my gorgeous girl 🥰❤️
You reply to Tobin before driving back to the hotel somehow in one piece. You park the car and see the rest of your teammates in the lobby of the hotel with their suitcases, ready to go. You start to walk over to Alex when Charlie waddles over to you and hugs your leg. You crouch down and smile at her niece.
"Y/N/N sad?" Charlie questions as she leans into you.
"I'm okay bubba" You answer before picking up the 15 month old and holding her on your hip.
"I brought your bags down since I thought you'd stay at the airport a little longer"
"Thanks Al" You say, slightly smiling at her slightly older sister.
The pair hear everyone start to move to the bus and Charlie cuddles into you more.
"We're going on the bus now bubba. Wanna go back to Mommy?" You whisper to the little girl.
"Stay wif chu" Charlie mumbles before falling asleep.
------------------------------------
You knew Orlando would lose to Chicago. The team hasn't been playing well lately and it doesn't help that they had key players such as Ash, Ali and Marta out with injuries. Your mood has remained the same since Tobin left just over three weeks ago and Alex noticed that you aren’t your usual fun, bubbly younger sister and aunt. While you took Charlie to the park down the street, Alex booked you a ticket to London to go surprise Tobin. She also called Christen to help with the surprise since she was watching some of Tobin's games. A while later, the door opened to reveal Charlie on your shoulders and you sporting the biggest smile Alex has seen since Tobin left. The bond between the niece and aunt is unbreakable, to which Alex is so thankful for. You jump over to the bed and flop down, causing the little one to fall into the safety net of pillows.
"Y/N/N, I have a surprise for you" Alex says as she opens the email confirmation of the plane ticket.
"You're pregnant again?"
"Just read this" Alex hands you the laptop and you goes from happy to crying in less than a minute.
"Al"
"Don't mention it. I could see how much you mood had changed since she left and now that our season is over, I thought you could go over and surprise her. Christen has been messaging me that Toby's game has been off since she started back" You pout and continues to read the email as Charlie crawls up to you.
"Christen said she is happy to pick you up from the airport and I've talked to the manager and you can stay with Tobs for all her games, other girls have people there too"
"Thank you Al. You're the best" You say as she hugs her sister tight.
"Get packing, your flight leaves in a few hours" Your eyes widen and you quickly pack the bag.
After the flight:
You quickly put on her Re-inc hoodie and mask before exiting the plane into the brisk London air on the tarmac with everyone else that was on board. When everyone is moved inside, you immediately see the curly haired best friend of both you and Tobin. Christen seems to have spotted you as well and they both run up to each other.
"I missed you Y/N/N" Christen said as they both pulled away.
"I missed you too Chris"
"Let's go get your girl"
The pair chat until you get your bag then enjoy the 35 minute drive to the stadium for Tobin's next game. The pair realised they were super early so they decided to get Burger King. When you check the time, she realised the game started in 15 minutes. The best friends hopped in the car and drove to the stadium vip carpark. Christen hands you a press pass to get in and points to where they are sitting.
"Conveniently it's in the Press sitting area huh?" Christen rolls her eyes at the comment and the two of them sit.
After 10 minutes or so, Arsenal runs out and you immediately spots your girlfriend sporting her 77 jersey. The ref blows the whistle and the game starts. Tobin is starting and every time she got the ball, you cheered for her. Christen asked you if you want to surprise Tobin now or at the end of the game. You didn't want to throw her off so you opted for the end of the game, which you hated. A gruelling 45 minutes later, the score was still 0-0 and someone needed to win as it was the semi-finals of the FA cup. Tobin was taking a corner and you decide that this is the best time to yell out.
"You can do it baby!"
Tobin looked at the stands to see her best friend and girlfriend sitting together. A huge smile came across Tobin's face and she winked back at you. Tobin delivered a sensational corner which resulted in Vivienne Miedema kicking the ball into the back of the net. The crowd cheered and the ref blew the final whistle. Tobin jumped over the barricades and ran up to give you the biggest hug and kiss.
"What are you doing here? Isn't the NWSL still on?" Tobin asks confused.
"We got knocked out so Alex bought me a plane ticket to surprise you. Apparently, you missed me too much and it was throwing off your game" You say smirking.
"I'm so happy you're here" Tobin says as she brings you into a tight hug.
"I love you so much" You whisper into Tobin's ear.
"I love you more my love" You give Tobin a quick kiss.
Tobin chats with you and Christen for a little before being called down by Leah.
"I have to go but wait for me in the car?"
"You know I will Tobs"
Tobin kisses your cheek and runs back to the field. You and Christen slowly pour out of the stadium with all the other people in the VIP area. While waiting for Tobin, you watch a fan-made video of Tobin’s greatest goals from the NWSL, along with the celebrations in the USWNT friendly matches between Tobin and her. Just as another one starts, the back door opens and Tobins slides in the backseat.
"Hey, sorry. The girls were asking about you" Tobin admits while reaching forward for your hand.
"Don't worry baby" Tobin rubs the front of your hand with her thumb making the slightly younger girl smile.
"Are you staying with me at the hotel?" Tobin hints.
"I'm staying with you the entire time. Your manager approved it because some other girls have people too so it would seem unfair"
"Remind me to thank your sister when I see her next"
Christen pulls up to the hotel and you and Tobin thank her for driving them around so much. The couple give her a tight hug teacher before Tobin got your suitcase out of the trunk and carried your duffel bag. Once in the room, the two collapsed on the bed and cuddled up to each other. You were feeling very sleepy as the jet lag was hitting you at once.
"Get changed my love, then you can sleep okay?"
"Too lazy Toby" Tobin pouted at your cuteness but knew you couldn't wear your hoodie and sweat pants to bed as she'd overheat.
"Want me to change you love?" You nodded and Tobin looked in your bags for some pjs.
After a successful change, Tobin got into bed and you immediately wrapped her arms around Tobin's torso. Tobin leaned down to kiss you on the forehead and let out a content hum. This is what she wants her life to be like and little does she know it's going to change for the better.

Fake It Till You Make It - Tobin Heath/Reader
prompt: R agrees to be Tobin’s fake date to a wedding, but they end up actually getting together by the end.
warnings: none
words: 1766
Tumblr media
(Y/N) POV
“So, why do you think I’ll be able to go?” I asked Tobin.
“Do you have plans for the weekend?” Tobin asked.
“Well, no, but that doesn’t mean that I want to go to a wedding,” I pointed out. It was exactly fair that she was asking me to go a day before the wedding. “I don’t have really anything to wear either.”
“You could wear anything and you would still look gorgeous.”
“Tobin. Not now.”
Tobin sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. I rubbed at my nose before sighing.
“You’ll pick me up?” I asked. Tobin looked up at me. “Tomorrow, you’re going to pick me up?”
“Yeah,” Tobin nodded. I nodded as well. I guess it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I went with Tobin. “And if anyone asks-”
“I’m your date,” I said. Tobin nodded at that. “Why did you tell people you had a date?”
“Because I didn’t think it through.”
“Do you ever?”
“Ouch.”
I sent Tobin a grin. I knew that she hadn’t really taken offence to the comment. She shook her head at me as she grabbed at her heart and fell back onto my couch.
“Okay, okay, stop pretending, Tobi.”
“You know I hate that nickname.”
I rolled my eyes at that as the forward looked up at me from her spot on the couch. I had been using the nickname forever now and I knew that Tobin really didn’t mind the nickname like she claimed.
“What time are you going to pick me up?”
“6?”
“You don’t know?”
“6.”
I squinted at the forward. I wasn’t sure how much I trusted her to keep to that time. Tobin only gave me a smile in response though.
“If you’re late, I’m not going,” I warned her.
“I won’t be late, I promise.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Can you stop glaring at me?”
“You were late, Tobin.”
The forward only shot me a small smile as I shook my head at her. I couldn’t really believe that I had still decided to come.
“I can’t believe that you didn’t tell me it was Jeffrey’s wedding either,” I hissed at her. I had no idea that it was her little brother’s wedding we were going to be going to. “It would have been a nice piece of information to have for when I agreed to come with you.”
“Okay, yes, I should have told you,” Tobin relented. “But I needed a date.”
“I can’t believe I even agreed to go on a fake date with you,” I said as I shook my head. After all, Tobin’s family knew me quite well. I had often spent time with Tobin’s family over the years. “You know I can never show my face to another Heath family function without us either pretending to be a couple or everyone asking me why we broke up.”
“You can’t tell them.”
“For how long?” I asked. Tobin shook her head at that. “No. No way, Tobin. Your mom will call me the second you tell her we broke up and she will be so upset. I swear if we never tell her that this is a fake date, I am going to cry.”
“You can’t tell them,” Tobin denied. I shook my head at that. “We can just pretend to be dating when you want to come to the family stuff.”
“Tobin,” I whined.
“I’m not telling them that I didn’t get a date for the wedding,” Tobin shook her head. I crossed my arms in frustration. “They’ll never know and you can still come to the Heath family functions. I promise.”
“I really don’t like this idea,” I said.
“It’ll be fine, (Y/N). My parents love you and so do my siblings.”
That wasn’t what I was worried about though. It didn’t take us much longer to get to the venue. We were a little early as Tobin was part of the family. I sighed as I followed Tobin before she held the door open for me. I walked in before slowing down so that Tobin could catch up to me.
Tobin sent me a small smile as she wrapped her arm around my shoulder. I shook my head at the action, but I didn’t make a move to remove her arm. The two of us soon found Tobin’s parents.
“Tobin,” Cindy greeted. She looked a little surprised when she saw me. “And (Y/N).”
“Hi, Mrs. Heath,” I said with a small smile.
“Oh, (Y/N), dear, you know you can call me Cindy.”
“I always forget.”
She gave me a small hug before Jeff also hugged me. I wasn’t too surprised when Tobin began to talk with her parents as Perry joined me.
“You look amazing,” Perry said as she hugged me. “I’m happy Tobin finally asked you out. She hasn’t stopped talking about you since you two met in college. It’s been so obvious how she feels about you since then.”
I pulled back from Perry in surprise. But I didn’t have time to ask her what she meant as Tobin joined us.
“Hey, Perry,” Tobin greeted her sister.
“Tobin,” Perry said as she pulled her sister in for a hug.
“So, how excited is Jeffrey?” I asked. I was a bit curious. I knew that he had gotten engaged, but I hadn’t heard much more after that.
“He’s absolutely in love with her,” Cindy said. I smiled at that because it was always good to hear. “We were so happy when he proposed. Now we’re just waiting on Tobin to propose.”
I turned to look at Tobin with my brow raised.
“Yeah, when do you plan to propose?” I asked Tobin.
It didn’t escape my notice of how the tips of her ears suddenly went red, but I decided not to comment on it. Tobin shrugged as she put her hands in her pockets.
“Maybe when you will finally come play for the same club as me.”
I shook my head at that. I knew that Tobin and I really never did play together outside of the national team. We hadn’t played together in college as Tobin played at UNC and I was at Stanford. Even though we had grown close due to the time we played together with the national team, we had yet to play for the same club.
“You’re the one who decided to go play for Man United when you came over to England. I tried to get you to come to Arsenal, but noooooo the life long Gunner didn’t want to,” I pointed out. Tobin only rubbed the back of her neck at that. “How about you leave Man United and come play for Arsenal?”
“You know, I just might.”
I smiled softly at that. I would love to get to play with Tobin for the same club. It was something that the two of us would have to do before we both retired.
We all made some small talk before Tobin’s parents went to go talk to some of the guests. I wasn’t too surprised when Katie even joined us. We continued to make small talk with Tobin’s family and even some of the guests. It wasn’t long though until the ceremony started or even until it ended before we were headed for the reception.
I wasn’t too surprised when Tobin was pulled for pictures. It didn’t take as long as I had thought as Tobin and her family joined our table again. We continued to make small talk throughout the night and I even enjoyed my time dancing with Tobin. I had finally gotten my chance to talk to Perry alone when Tobin told me she was going to go to the bathroom.
“Hey, Perry,” I said causing her to turn to look at me. “Tobin’s been talking about me since college?”
“Everyone can see it. She came home and she couldn’t stop talking about the midfielder who had given her the worst amount of trouble,” Perry admitted. I shook my head at that because no one had ever told me. “We could all tell that she had a crush on you after that. But it wasn’t until you guys had your first national camp together that we realized she loved you. It didn’t take her long to actually tell us that she loved you. But she made us promise not to say anything to you.”
“I never knew that.”
“Of course not,” Perry shook her head. “You two were always both so oblivious to each other’s feelings. We had bets on who would admit it to the other first. So, was it you or Tobin?”
I lifted my head as I spotted Tobin headed toward us.
“Remind me to tell you about it later,” I said to her as I was already making my way toward Tobin.
I grabbed a hold of Tobin’s arm once I got close enough. I pulled her with me as I headed out of the venue. I knew that it would be no problem for us to get back in and I really just wanted to go outside for this conversation.
“(Y/N), what’s going on?” Tobin asked softly once I stopped pulling her with me. “Did Perry say something? Do you want me to take you home?”
“You never told me,” I said. Tobin furrowed her brow in confusion. “That you’ve been in love with me since that first camp.”
“Oh, I- um, you see,” Tobin stuttered. I shook my head at it. “Look, I can take you home and you can forget about all of-”
I cut Tobin off as I grabbed a hold of her shirt before pulling her forward as I crashed my lips against hers. I almost pulled away before Tobin kissed me back. I rested my forehead against Tobin’s once we did pull back from each other.
“You should have said something.”
“You just kissed me,” Tobin said. She let out a soft chuckle as she pulled her forehead away from mine. I watched as she pinched herself. “I’m not dreaming that you kissed me?”
“I could always kiss you again if you wanted.”
Tobin looked up at me in surprise.
“You should have told me, Tobin. God, Perry was right,” I said as I shook my head.
“So, does this mean that tonight wasn’t a total lie?”
“I guess that depends on if you ask me to be your girlfriend or not.”
“Well, then, (Y/N), will you be my girlfriend?”
“It only took you 16 years.”
“Hey, I just had to fake it till I made it.”
Publicity stunt- Preath
"You're late" Mrs.Mary, your group home guardian, said as soon as you hoped out of your friends car.
"I know, but I couldn't miss out on the waves" you said grabbing you board, saying a quick goodbye to your friend and her parents.
"Couldn't miss the waves? Does that also mean you can leave and not tell me. You didn't even leave a note! Your 13! You can't be doing that! And today of all days. The USWNT is here!" Mrs. Mary said looking at you with disappointment.
"I told you I didn't want to met them" you said stubbornly
"Then don't. I don't understand why since you look up to most of them" she said before turning around and heading back inside causing you to sigh.
You placed your board in the garage before looking around for something to entertain you while you stayed outside.
A basketball caught your, shooting hops should take up sometime you thought as you grabbed it made you way to the basketball net in the drive way.
"I thought out of all of us that you would be the happiest to meet them." Lexie said looking at you confused as she grabbed the ball after it bounced off the rim
"If it was at a game or something yeah. Not like this. This is to make them feel better about themselves. Its a publicity stunt. I'm not going to be a part of that" you said as Lexie eyes widened.
You turned around to see some of the team standing there causing your eyes to also widen in shock.
"Your (y/n), right?" Tobin asked causing you to nod slowly
"Well your not wrong. Part of the reason we are here is for good publicity" she continued cooly causing you to relax some since they didn't seem mad
"Mrs. smith said you just got back from surfing. Were the waves good this morning?" Tobin asked causing you to smile widely
"Pretty good. I would say you missed out" you said causing Tobin to smile
"I definitely did" Tobin said
"You play?" You asked holding up the ball
"I do" Tobin said walking towards you
"You guys in? You asked looking at Lindsey, Alex, Megan, and Christen
"We're in" Megan said grabbing Lindsey to join here
"First one too 21 wins" you said tossing Megan the ball.
The game passed quickly, with many laughs as Christen and Alex kept score. You and Tobin win
"What happen to your leg?" Christen asked once the game ended causing you to look down at the poorly done wrapping of your cut that you could now see the blood through and was starting to fall off
"Cut it on some coral this morning" you said shrugging you shoulder
"Have you cleaned it?" Christen asked concerned, knowing you haven't been inside yet
"No" you said with a blush
"Come on, we will help you" Christen said as she wrapped an arm around you shoulder to guide you away from the net
"No, it's cool. I can do it later" you said
"It's fine, the sooner you clean it the better" Tobin said passing the ball to Megan before joining and guiding you into the house.
You reluctantly led them to the bathroom.
"Hop on up" Tobin said taping the counter as her and Christen started looking for a first aid kit or something to clean you cut
"Found the first aid kit" Christen said
"And I found the hydrogen peroxide" Tobin said
"What? No, we can just use soap" you said looking at them like they were crazy
"This will clean it better, kiddo" Tobin said
"But it will hurt more" you whined
"Want to hold my hand" Christen asked causing you to nod your head rapidly as you held out your hand to her, a smile crossing both there faces at your childish behavior, as Christen grabbed your hand and your other went over your eyes as you also closed them
"I'm ready, just don't tell me when you do it" you said
Tobin sent Christen a look to let her know that she was about to pour the rubbing alcohol.
As soon as it hit your leg you felt the burning sensation hit you causing you to squeeze Christen hand as she used her other hand to gently rub you back
Tobin quickly wiped it off before wrapping it up for you.
"There, good to go" Tobin said patting your thigh causing you to let go of Christen hand and open your eyes
"That wasn't to bad" you said holding up your leg to look at the wrap on your leg causing the two adults to smile fondly at you
"And it won't get infected" Christen said looking at you
"I sure hope not" you said standing up "i would hate to have to do that again" you continued with a frown
"Just keep it clean and you won't have to" Tobin said as they followed you out of the bathroom.
"I've got to run. If Mrs. smith ask just tell her the last you saw me was walking into the garage. Don't need her to know my escape route" you said looking at them but they just stared back confused
"It was nice to meet you both" you said waving at them as you moved a board in the fence and started to slide through
"Wait" Christen rushed out, concern for your safety but also wanting to spend more time with you
"Yeah?" You asked confused
"Uh where are you going?" Christen asked
"To go hang out with friends for a little while"
"And Mrs.smith can't know?" Tobin asked skeptically
"She may or may think some of my friends cause mischief" you said causing both to look at you skeptically
"Okay, maybe they do but it's nothing illegal just dumb, a little dangerous sometimes." you said as Tobin and Chris nodded "bye" you said before quickly disappearing
Christen and Tobin both shared a look when you left as they walked back to the house
"She going to be a handful, you know" Christen said
"But it will all be worth it" Tobin said wrapping her arm around her with a smile
—-
A few days later you came skating up to the house  after coming from the skate park.
As you got closer you saw Tobin and Christen standing in the porch causing a smile to appear on you face
"What do I owe the pleasure of seeing you two here again?" You ask you hopped off your skateboard and picking it up, walking up the steps to where they were standing
"Not happy to see us?" Tobin jokingly asked
"Ehh" you said with a cheeky smile causing both to smile at you "happy but suprised"
"So what are you guys doing here?" You asked curiously since you didn't see any other players
"We came to see you"  Christen said
"Really?" You asked confused
"Yes, really. Don't believe us?" Tobin asked
"Nope" you said
"We want to adopt you" Christen said
"And why would you do that?" You asked even more confused
"Trust us, we asked ourselves the same question" Tobin said causing you to smile as Christen shoved her and gave her a look
"But we realized that we want you to be a part of our life, our family" Christen said
"What made you realize that?" You asked still skeptical, you guys had spent a hour together if that
"Sometimes you just know things based on how you feel" Christen said causing you nod while you though over her answer
"So what do you say, want to join our crazy family" Tobin asked
"Why not, we can give it try" you said causes both women to smile as they pulled you into hug
"So I get to be apart of preath confirmation announcement?" You asked with a cheeky smile  once they released you
"Something like that" Tobin said pushing down the brim of you hat only causing your smile to widen as you fixed it when you saw them both staring down at you with fond looks
"Let's go get you packed" Christen said wrapping her arm around you
Little Miss Perfect (Tobin Heath)
Tumblr media
(Woop Woop, re-upload alert!!!)
Based-ish on Little Miss Perfect performed by Taylor Louderman
Prompt: Y/N is a star. She has the perfect career, perfect sponsorships, perfect team(s), and arguably a perfect life. Or at least, that’s how she’s seen; Little Miss Perfect … or not?
Or alternatively
The 10,000+ word fic based on LMP that no one asked for but it’s one of my audition songs so I’ve been singing it nonstop for months and it now lives rent free in my head so here you go.
Warnings: Very very very long and full of detail, also it gets a little spicy in a few spots oops
——
straight hair, straight A’s, straight forward
To the world, Y/N Y/LN was the golden girl of the USWNT. To her teammates, this same title held true. The fleet footed forward joined the senior team for her first cap during the WWC in 2019 after graduating from Stanford at the top of her class.
Since her time playing at both the national and international level, the forward had grown to a level of stardom that rivaled even Alex Morgan since she, you know, didn’t piss off the entirety of England at the World Cup. However, Y/N would be quick to thank her communications major for this public relations boost and not her skills on the pitch.
Sadly, the weight of this attention brought so many expectations onto her which certainly made an impact on someone who was still so young and trying to truly figure out who she was outside of the game.
i don’t black out at parties, i jam to Paul McCartney
“Are you sure I can’t convince you to come out with us?” Meghan asked, leaning against the wall in the shared living space. Y/N looked up from her spot on the couch, her nose having previously been buried in work of some sorts, sparing only a moment to roll her eyes at her flatmate.
“Kling, I already told you that I’m perfectly content with staying in tonight.” The older girl sighed dramatically and Y/N just laughed, going back to scribbling in one of the countless notebooks scattered around her.
“You know we literally have people for that? Like that’s what they’re paid to do.” Kling mumbled, motioning to Y/N’s books filled with a variety of stats ranging from national team data to the stats for Portland last season and even her stuff from the ‘17-’18 season she spent with PSG.
“You know that part of my job is being able to assess how well myself and others perform? Like that’s what I’m paid to do.” Y/N mocked playfully, causing Kling to stick her tongue out at her childishly. The action gained a laugh from the young forward and both women broke out into full faced smiles. Though the two hadn’t played together long, Kling certainly regarded the decision to share an apartment with the girl as one of the best she’d made in recent years.
“Come on, please? Lindsey and Emily will be there!” The mention of the two women she played with on both the club and national level made her perk up slightly but it still wasn’t enough to get her to break her homebody habits. Frankly, even as much as Y/N liked going out, she had come to learn that house parties and unpredictable teammates could turn into a PR nightmare and she was happy to avoid the headache whenever possible.
“I saw them the other day, I can go another night without seeing them. Besides, I’d rather not go out with my back feeling like this anyways.” Y/N muttered, finding an extra excuse in the old pain of her lower back which was currently being treated with electrical pulses from the TENS unit wired to her.
“A little alcohol would loosen that back right up and you know it.” Kling whined and Y/N just shook her head, giggling as her teammate boo’d her loudly.
“Fine, but just so you know how lame you are for missing this one, even Tobin is going.” The young forward’s eyes widened as she was a little taken aback at the mention of the veteran player.
Though they were both home in Portland, Y/N hadn’t seen the veteran forward since the Concacaf games earlier in the month. While Tobin was of course known to attend their teambonding nights, actual Thorns parties were not her normal scene. With the thought of Tobin in mind, the idea of spending an evening out drinking with the girls didn’t sound terrible but Y/N knew she still couldn’t agree to go.
“Well, even the hardest of chillers has to go out eventually I guess.” Y/N countered, causing Kling to stop and think about it for a moment.
“Fine, that’s fair. You’re still boring though!” The defender whined again, earning what must have been the hundredth eye roll from the girl on the couch.
“And you’re still annoying. Now leave and quit being so clingy, Kling!” Both girls laughed at the word play with Kling flicking Y/N off as she walked out the front door of the apartment.
Sighing, Y/N relaxed back into the quiet that often befell the apartment when Meghan was out on one of her many adventures. While she often loved the fast paced environment of the professional soccer world that she had been absorbed in for nearly three seasons now, it was nice to have moments like these. While part of her may have preferred to go out and drink the night away with the Thorns, there was something equally as therapeutic about drinking in the Portland view from an empty apartment where the only noise was the sound of pen against the paper and  “Hey Jude” floating over from the record player.
i ask myself what did i do, to get as far as i’ve gotten.
As quickly as the peace came, it was gone.
Days after the great party debate with Meghan, Y/N found herself back on a plane and flying across the country for pre-SheBelieves training camp. While her Thorns counterparts had flown in days earlier, Y/N was coming in just on time as she had stuck around in Portland a few extra days for both a charity event and a magazine shoot. She couldn’t quite pinpoint when this had become her way of life with media days becoming more prominent and her social followings flying into the millions. Regardless of the how, why, or when, Y/N was more than happy to play her part in the grand scheme of the game if it meant putting women’s soccer on the pedestal it deserved. However, to say she was exhausted by the time she hit the seat on her flight to Orlando would certainly be an understatement. Somewhere in the back of her mind she made a mental note to text and ask Alex how the hell she did it all.
A pretty girl walks by my locker, my heart gives a flutter but I don’t dare utter a word…
Yawning, Y/N made her way into the locker room. The youngins were the first to see her and she was immediately taken down by the team’s oldest kid, Kelley O’Hara. With a trademark flying squirrel hug, the Utah player wrapped herself around the body of the younger girl who didn’t even miss a step at the impact.
“Hi nerd, we missed you!” Kelley nuzzled into Y/N’s neck which had warmed under her touch as she blushed bright red. Sonnett and Rose were quick to join the tackle-hug situation as the forward shuffled towards her locker with the girls hanging off of her.
“Oh my god, let her breathe!” The voice belonged to Sam Mewis who crossed the locker room easily and helped pluck the little soccer stars off of her.
“Thanks Sammy, I could handle Kels but the other two nearly took me out.” Y/N admitted, brushing off and straightening her clothes.
“No problem, I never understood why they made your tiny self team pack mule.” Sam laughed, ruffling her hand through the smaller player’s hair.
“It’s those muscles, makes it easy to carry us.” A new voice added to the conversation. Y/N, who had sat down on the bench to begin the process of putting on her gear, looked up with wide eyes and a beet red face. Sam laughed and nodded her head in agreement as the veteran player walked towards them. Tobin wore a signature smirk as she offered Y/N a wink that the latter nearly missed as she became focused on the laces of her boots.
“It’s good to see you again superstar, it’s been a minute.” Tobin said as Y/N simply nodded her head in response, not being able to find her words.
Though both women had been in Portland during their short break, neither had seen the other since the Concacaf games had ended. It wasn’t as if Y/N had purposely been avoiding the other forward, she wasn’t sure she could ever bring herself to do that, but admittedly it was odd that the two who had been so close since Y/N’s first cap had gone such a time without seeing each other.
Thankfully, Tobin had grown used to this nonverbal state that the normally chattery girl seemed to always enter around her. Frankly, she took it as a compliment that Y/N felt she could be quiet around her instead of putting on what the team loved to call her ‘media face’. Gently, she placed a hand on the girl’s shoulder and gave it a soft squeeze of reassurance. Tobin felt her heart nearly stop in her chest when Y/N looked up and their eyes locked, both girls’ cheeks now beyond rosey with a blush.  If it had been anyone else the interaction would have been regarded with raised brows and questions from their teammates, but not with Y/N.
Cause that would be absurd behavior for Little Miss Perfect…
Practice continued in a predictable cycle over the next few days.
With the depth of the bench for forwards on the national team, practice could often feel like a battle. Y/N went strong and gave her all on the field, doing everything she could to secure her starting spot in the SheBelieves games. Despite the competition, she found herself bubbling over with energy every time there was a chance to scrimmage.
“Alright, the field is yours!” Vlatko announced at the end of their Friday practice. The sun was beating down on the group of women and practice had been long and hot. Still, there was no way that the majority of them were letting an open field and an early ended practice go to waste.
“Kids versus vets!” Pinoe screamed already running towards the pitch. There were groans of complaints from some of the girls and mutters as they tried to figure out how to divide themselves.
“Fine, but only if vets wear the pinnies! And we get Kelley!” Mal yelled back, hands on her hips and a pout on her lips. Many of the vets laughed at Mals list of demands but they all agreed which is how they got to where they were now, standing in a loose huddle. Y/N stared at her teammates with a serious expression and crossed arms as she and Kelley surveyed the group and tried to figure out how they were going to pull this off because frankly neither of the girls wanted to get their asses beat before their off day.
“How are we about to pull this off?” Kelley muttered, looking around the group. Y/N smacked her gently as she scanned the roster of youngins in front of her. With a wave of her hand, she set Jane and AD off to play rock-paper-scissors or something to figure out who would start in goal since she really couldn’t pick. Second later Y/N’s eyes lit up as she saw her opening.
“We have Rose!” She exclaimed suddenly, gaining weird looks from her teammates and an even more confused look from the midfielder herself.
“Um, obviously?” Sonnett said, looking at the girl like she was an idiot.
“Exactly. Which means we have the attacking midfielder.” Y/N explained slowly, waiting for the rest of the youngins to catch on.
“Which means that Ertz will need support…” Tierna muttered, slowly realizing where their captain was going with this.
“And we know Sammy isn’t going to be the one providing it.” Rose quipped, causing the girls to laugh as they all cast a glance over to where their Tower of Power had collapsed in the shade of the stands at the end of the day’s practice.
“So they need someone else in midfield. Someone who is going to be aggressive but calculated and can try to push the ball forward…” Y/N was excited now, itching for one of her teammates to take the bait and catch on to what she was implying.
“Oh my god, they’re going to try and surprise us because they have to put Tobin in midfield!” Kelley gasped, jumping up and down in her spot.
“Exactly, but we’ll be ready.” Y/N grinned, ready for the challenge that the vet would certainly present. As if a switch had been flicked in her brain, a suddenly scheming Y/N began to whisper to the girls her plans to beat what would certainly be a 3-2-2 since the vets declared Pinoe as captain.
With Ash and AD taking their places as the self declared referees of the match, the vets moved to their spots on the field. Pinoe was grinning as if she’d done something miraculous as Tobin joined Julie in the midfield but the smile was wiped clean off her face as the newly dubbed Coach Tierna waved ‘her players’ onto the pitch. When the girls countered the 3-2-2 with a 2-3-2, Pinoe threw her hands up in exasperation.
“Oh come on! How did you even think of that? A 2-3-2? Who even does that!” The older forward was clearly frustrated that her plans of throwing the youngins off with Tobin in midfield had been thwarted but the rest of the vets looked a mix of either amused or impressed, Tobin included.
“What can I say, we saw it coming from a mile away. You know what they say, can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” Y/N’s little quip was met with a gasp from Pinoe who furrowed her eyebrows at the young player as their teammates howled in laughter.
“Oh, it is so on Y/LN.”
And so it was, at least for the other half of the field. Y/N and Mal were both bouncing on their toes in anticipation but the ball was constantly getting caught up in the midfield. When the youngins had made the assumption that Rose against Ertz was going to be a powerful match, they had certainly been right. The two women were at eachothers throats and even if the ball escaped them, it was quickly funnelled back by one of the wide midfielders.
“Y/N, go!” Tierna yelled from the sidelines and that had simply been the approval she’d been waiting on. If anyone read the field on the same level as Y/N, it was Tierna, and Y/N certainly trusted her judgement as she threw herself into the mix of the midfield and left Mal behind to prepare.
The ball was at Julie’s feet when Y/N joined the action, but Rose was quick to see the opportunity and she snagged the ball and shot it immediately to the forwards boot. With a normally unrivaled speed, Y/N shot off down the pitch and back towards Mal.
However, before she could get too far, a familiar lean frame was on her tail. She cursed mentally, knowing that outrunning Tobin wasn’t an option and at this point neither was passing to Mal as the newly moved midfielder closed in on her. The entirety of the field took a collective breath as Y/N juggled with the ball at her feet as Tobin closed the gap between them. The two players were a pair who normally worked incredibly well together so seeing them face off set a tension over the pitch that the rest of the team wasn’t quite sure they were allowed to disrupt.
“Coincidence seeing you here.” Y/N jested, sliding the ball around her body and away from Tobin’s darting feet. The midfielder wasn’t sure what kind of game Y/N was playing here but she was determined not to let her even get near the defensive line. As someone who had played this position with Y/N before, Tobin knew the danger that was coming if she let the younger girl get to Mal.
“Not a coincidence, you knew she’d put me here.” Breathing heavy, her tone came out in a rasp that made the little breath that Y/N had catch in her throat. Refusing to let the butterflies that had for some reason erupted in her stomach derail her, she plastered a confident smirk onto her face.
“Maybe I did, and maybe that’s why I’m here. You should play midi more, it looks good on you.” The unexpected confidence along with the wink that Y/N threw Tobin was enough to stop the normally confident player in her tracks for a mere millisecond. She had to be imagining the interaction because there was no way that Y/N, the beautiful girl who turned nearly mute around her, had just offered her a compliment and a wink all at once. That would be, well, absurd.
Regardless, something must have happened, because in the millisecond that Tobin was distracted, Y/N found her window. Without so much as a second thought, she twisted her body and kicked the ball through Tobins legs before whipping around her and sending the ball barreling towards Mal.
“No fucking way!” Crystal yelled on defense, jaw on the ground. Mal in turn took the shock of the back line in her favor as she turned and layed in a shot that slipped just over the gloves of Uncle Naeher and into the right corner of the net.
Tobin’s eyes went even wider than they had moments ago as she let herself sink to the grass, attempting to process the last minute in her mind. There was no way that their golden girl had just done that.
Something about her drew me in.. what? It’s totally platonic.
It seemed like that was a common theme for Y/N today, acting out of character that is. After the embarrassing 1-0 loss, the team had made their way back to the hotel where everyone had retreated to their respective rooms. That was, atleast, at first.
Within an hour of being back, Y/N and Rose’s room had been overrun by the team’s younger players and their unexplainable amounts of energy. Kelley and Sonnett were the main culprits, retelling the details of the scrimmage for the thousandth time as if the tale of the two chaotic defenders holding down the back line was the best thing since sliced bread. Already having taken her shower and starting the process of winding down for the day, a tired Y/N decided to seek solace from her teammates.
Her first stop would normally have been Alex’s room, but since she was still out with an acute case of a Charlie horse, she tried her other options. Ashlyn and Ali didn’t answer her knocks, Alyssa was already asleep in her own bed, and Tiernas room was somehow noisier than her own.
That’s how she ended up at the door she had been accidentally avoiding with her fist raised to knock but something gnawed at her and stopped the motion. Her internal dialogue was bitter for a moment, snipping about how the woman she had brutally nutmegged earlier certainly didn’t want to see her. But some small part of her that needed so desperately to see the other woman made her hand move forward.
“Hey Y/N, what’s up?” The forward turned midfielder asked, leaning against her door frame. For some reason, the confidence that Y/N held earlier had completely disappeared as she took in Tobin in her re-inc shorts and muscle tank.
“Um, the girls are being loud.” She muttered, looking towards the ground and finding interest in Tobins slides.
“Need a place to chill out?” Tobin questioned, raising an eyebrow at the girl in front of her. Part of her was pleased to have the quiet, blushy girl back while another part of her wondered where the self confident girl on the pitch had gone.
“Please?” Y/N sighed deeply as Tobin stepped aside and let her into the hotel room.
“I was watching some documentary on the history channel if you want to join?” Tobin asked, inclining her head towards her bed that was situated in front of the hotel’s crappy TV. While Y/N doubted any documentary would hold her interest, she nodded her headed and moved towards the bed.
Without another word, the two women slipped into the bed. Y/N, who wasn’t characteristically a cuddler, somehow found herself half asleep and curled into Tobins side. The older of the two bit her lip at the unexpected contact, feeling the heat of Y/Ns touch. Not knowing what else to do, Tobin wrapped her arm around the girl and pulled her closer as she moved the blankets to cover them up. Humming in content, Y/N fell into a deep sleep, something her brain would later blame on the smell of rainstorms and fresh linens instead of the woman that was holding her tightly.
“She looks like she’s a part of you, Tobes.” Midge giggled after walking back into their shared hotel room. Tobin shushed the woman and sent her a pointed glare that disappeared the moment she looked down at the girl sleeping peacefully in her arms, a hint of a smile pulling at the corner of her mouth.
“I’m just glad she’s comfortable, Rose said she hadn’t been sleeping well.” Tobin admitted, allowing her fingers to trace delicate patterns across Y/Ns exposed skin. Midge smiled softly at the two women as she watched their interaction, letting out a soft sigh.
“Tobin…” She whispered, giving the woman a knowing look. Tobin let out a sigh of her own as she bit her lip and shook her head.
“Don’t Midge, please.” Her voice cracked slightly, brimming with unspoken emotions that made Midge tear up. Nodding her head, Midge turned to leave, giving the girls the room. Before she could exit the room though, she turned back towards a hurting Tobin.
“You never know, Tobes.” She intended for the words to give the player some sort of hope but they appeared to have the opposite effect as a tear tried to slip from Tobins watering eyes.
“Even if she was, she’s untouchable.” Tobin admitted, her eyes never leaving Y/N’s sleeping form, carefully monitoring the rising and falling of her chest to make sure she was asleep.
“Maybe, but nearly half the world wants her and yet she’s always stayed here with you instead. That has to count for something.” Midge whispered finally, before sliding out of the door.
Tobins eyes wandered over the younger girl’s face as she carefully attempted to regain her composure. Finding her composure wasn’t coming easily though as her thoughts wandered to Midge’s words. Maybe it did mean something that she was single, but there was no way it was anything that concerned her. The two were certainly close but their connection was purely platonic, right?
That night was so exciting. Her smirk was so enticing..
Sometime later, the pair found themselves lounging together on a coach in Pinoes room for some captain called team bonding. While Y/N and Tobin would have been content to have stayed in Tobins bed, Frat Daddy Sr. and Jr. had declared that the two simply had to participate as it would be the only night for a while where they could drink or “partake in adult beverages” as Sonnett had put it.
“Are you sure we should even be drinking?” Y/N asked, eyeing the bottle in her hand questioningly as most of the team chuckled at their little rule follower.
“We have the day off tomorrow so there’s no reason we shouldn’t!” Pinoe grinned, clinking the neck of her bottle against Kelleys. Y/N’s encouragement to actually start drinking came when she let her eyes flit over to Tobin who once again wore a signature smirk.
“Unless of course you pulled an Alex and got pregnant or something…” Tobin choked on her beer as she looked at Crystal with wide eyes, the woman merely shrugging in response.
“Doesn’t hurt to ask since we know next to nothing about Y/N’s personal life. For all we know she could be in some sort of serious, committed relationship!” There was a mischievous glint in Dunny’s eyes as she cast a sideways glance at Tobin who had now resorted to chugging the drink that she was holding.
“Jesus..” Y/N muttered, eyeing her beer again for a moment before quickly chugging it. Many of the women in the room let out whoops and hollers at this newly found talent of Y/N’s as she finished the drink without hesitation. Setting the empty bottle down on the table beside Tobins, Y/N let out a long sigh before relaxing backwards.
“So I’ll take that to mean you’re not pregnant?” Pinoe teased, causing the room to fill with laughter.
“No, definitely not pregnant and certainly not in some top secret relationship.” She wasn’t sure whether it was the buzz from the beer or the tightening of Tobin’s grip around her waist that let the admission stumble out, but somehow she was glad it did. The team shared surprised glances, seeing inside the life of their fairly private forward for the first time, while Tobin let out a sigh of relief. A sigh that didn’t go undetected by the younger player who was currently leaning into her side.
“Well if you’re not in a serious relationship now then is there someone you want to be in a relationship with?” The question surprisingly came from Ashlyn this time as the goalie leaned forward in anticipation.
“Babe!” Ali gasped, quickly reprimanding her wife.
“What? I’m just asking! Because this team is going to need a new power couple and so far the rest of the youngins have failed me.” Hearing Ashlyn’s words, Y/N’s eyes went as wide as Tobin’s had been moments ago as she struggled to somehow speak. A power couple? Before she could form a sentence though, Tobin’s voice snatched the room’s attention.
“I thought we came in here for team bonding, not team interrogation.” The quip came out more serious than she had meant, her tone low and voice nearly at a growl. Shocked, Ashlyn and others leaned back in their seats, trying to put some distance between themselves and the clearly irritated woman.
“Tobin’s right, let’s play a game.”
Hours speed by like seconds then, what happens is iconic.
How Tobin got in her current position was simple. However, where she was going to go from here seemed much more complex.
See, when Tobin had suggested the girls switch to actual team bonding, Miss Lindsey Horan had been quick to jump on the idea. Ever the scheming gay, Lindsey suggested the girls play Strip Truth or Dare which was certainly just a ploy for her to be able to see Sonnett’s abs. All seemed to go according to plan as after a few targeted questions, Sonnett did in fact end up shirtless. The rest of the game though was much more random and left many of the girls either shirtless or shortless as they shied away from some of their teammates’ more challenging dares.
“Here you go Tobbito. Give it a spin.” Kelley was grinning mischievously as she handed the empty beer bottle to Tobin who eyed it with distaste. Having opted to take O’Hara’s dare, Tobin now had to spend seven minutes stuck in a tight linen closet with whoever the bottle landed on. It was a classic Kelley style dare as the woman loved to see how far she could push her teammates to go but it was also one that Tobin always turned down. Tonight though, her options were to take the dare or take off her shorts so she regrettably chose the former.
As the bottle spun around on the table, her teammates watched in excitement. She could feel the girl beside her tense as it slowed and she was damn near sure she felt her heart stop when the bottle finally stilled. Tobin could sense many of her teammates less than thrilled reactions when the bottle stilled and Kelley clearly scrunched her face up in displeasure.
“The one time I get Tobin to actually do this and I’m not even going to get anything messy? Ugh, fine. Go like, bond for seven minutes or something.” With an air of fake confidence, Tobin stood to her feet and reached her hand out to the other girl who almost grudgingly took it. Tailed by Kelley and her timer, the two somehow settled into the tiny closet together.
She tells a joke, I nearly choke. Next thing I know, I lose control. I finally kiss her but oh no.
“Coincidence seeing you here.” Y/N joked for the second time that day, forcing herself to meet Tobin’s eyes.
“I’d say it wasn’t a coincidence but there’s no way either of us saw this one coming.” Tobin countered, and Y/N nodded her head in agreement as she laughed softly.
“True, because if Kelley had seen this coming she wouldn’t have wasted a dare on it.”
“Poor Kelley was expecting a show and instead she got us.” Both of the girls laughed at that but Y/N’s laugh caught in her throat as Tobin adjusted her position, accidentally running her hand across Y/N’s exposed thigh in the process.
Blushing profusely, Tobin ducked her head and mumbled some sort of apology as Y/N attempted to shift herself backwards. However, the closeness to the wall caught her off guard and she tumbled forward instead. Out of instinct, Tobin immediately leaned towards Y/N and grabbed the girls waist in an attempt to steady her. But, in the confined space, the action only made it so that the pair were now hovering inches apart as Y/N’s hands pushed against the wall on either side of Tobins head.
“You think you can’t put on a show with me?” Y/N attempted to jest but it came out much closer to a whisper as she shut her eyes, daring not to even glance at the woman who held her waist.
“N-no. It’s just, no one is expecting you of all people to sit in a closet and makeout with a teammate or something.” Tobins response was rushed and stuttered as her eyes darted around Y/N’s face, taking in every freckle and scar.
Maybe it was Tobins stutter, or the feeling of her deep breaths ticking against Y/N’s lips, but something willed Y/N to open her eyes. The bold movements didn’t stop there though as she moved her hands down and brought them so that they were laced together behind Tobins neck.
“I’m tired of following everyone’s expectations.” Her voice was deeper now and any tone of annoyance that should be expected with the sentence was simply absent.
“Then don’t follow them.” Tobin’s own voice was raspy and daring as she broke eye contact and let her gaze drift down to the other girl’s lips.
As though the words were the final push she needed, Y/N shifted to her knees and leaned forward, lightly placing her lips against Tobin’s. As she moved to pull away from the kiss, she felt the hands on her waist tighten slightly. Tentatively, Y/N leaned back in to kiss Tobin again and was surprised when she was met halfway. With the girls finally realizing that both sides wanted this, the pressure behind the kiss increased.
Without hesitation, Tobin pulled Y/N in closer by her hips so that the younger girl was fully straddling her. The kiss was all teeth and tongue as the two clashed against each other, each touch filled with need.
Tobin wasn’t sure at what point Y/N had leaned back for air, and she was less sure of when she had attached her lips to her teammates neck. What she did know was that between the little sounds that slipped past Y/N’s lips and the way she tugged at Tobin’s hair, she never wanted to stop.
“Tobin…” The defender gasped, head falling backward as Tobin nipped at her newly exposed collarbone.
She wasn’t sure what she was thinking when she left the marks on Y/N’s neck and it was truly possible that she wasn’t thinking of anything at all. Well, nothing other than the feelings of the other girls muscular thighs under her fingers and the warmth of exposed skin against her lips. Y/N couldn’t place any blame on Tobin though, because at no point would she ever have asked the forward to stop what she was doing. In fact, she was certain that if she could find her voice that she would beg her to do just the opposite.
The only thing that finally ripped them apart was another voice, an outside voice.
“Alright idiots, you can come out now.” Kelley yelled, banging twice against the closet door before walking away.
If the two hadn’t been so startled by the interruption, they probably would’ve laughed at the word choice. Instead, they sat together in silence, simply staring into eachothers eyes without moving from their previous position.
Ultimately it was Y/N who regained her composure first, pulling herself upright. Tobin stayed in her spot on the floor, watching the way Y/N straightened her shirt and ran her fingers through her hair as she took deep breaths in an attempt to steady herself. And then she held out her hand, a silent offer to help Tobin up, which Tobin hesitantly expected. Of course, in the still cramped space, pulling Tobin to stand upright once again put the pair nose to nose.
Once again, it was Y/N who snapped out of it first. With burning cheeks, she cleared her throat and turned her head away from Tobin as she opened the door to let them out.
“Took you two long enough.” Ash remarked as the pair made their way back into the lounge area. Without a word, Tobin made a beeline for her spot beside Christen which had remained open. Her best friend gave her an odd look but Tobin simply shook her head in dismissal and Christen didn’t push it any further than that.
Meanwhile, Y/N just laughed and shrugged her shoulders as she fixed the girls with one of her award winning smiles. In that moment, she found that she was actually grateful for the years of media training that had taught her to force a fake smile as she stood in front of her teammates pretending that watching Tobin just dart to the safety of Christen Press’s side didn’t hurt her in the slightest.
“Yeah well we got a little tangled up.” The team just laughed and thought nothing of the statement, except for Tobin who nearly choked on air at the double meaning of her words.
As much trust as Y/N had in her acting skills, she couldn’t stand to stick around and smile any longer. With a very exaggerated yawn, she happily took her leave and waved goodnight to her ever oblivious teammates.
It wasn’t until she finally found herself in her own room, cocooned tightly in the warmth of her comfort hoodie and hotel sheets, that she let her smile fall. Because here she was on top of the world, performing at the highest level of women’s soccer like she had always wanted. It had taken so much hard work to get here, but also so much personal sacrifice. Soon the warmth of her blankets was matched by the warmth of the tears that streamed down her face as she laid alone and contemplated just how much of herself she was willing to continue to deny.
You’re just confused believe her when she says there’s nothing there
“Okay seriously, where is this girl?” Mal whined, looking around for the woman who was usually her partner in crime.
“Maybe she’s hungover.” Rose mused as her best friend pouted.
“Well she’s almost late, and she promised she’d go to brunch with us today for our off day.” It was Pinoe who was pouting now, looking very much like someone’s angry grandma and the majority of the team was fighting the urge to laugh.
“You know if y’all were so worried I was going to be late, you could’ve called.” The girls’ heads all turned in the direction of the voice as their teammate appeared in the hotel lobby. Kelley and her fellow crackhead children let out a long round of wolf whistles and cheers as the young player stepped into the room.
“Well damn, nevermind. If we had known you were going to come out looking that good, we wouldn’t have complained about you taking so long!” Mal hollered while Y/N giggled and ducked her head, a blush spreading over her cheeks that nearly matched the pink silk tank that she wore.
When she lifted her head, her eyes made contact with a sparkling pair of brown ones that couldn’t be torn off of her. Tobin somehow couldn’t even summon one of her dashing smiles as she took in Y/N’s ensemble. Without the suit jacket hanging on her shoulders, the outfit would arguably be scandalous for Y/N as she almost purposefully allowed the top to leave little to the imagination.
“Quit gawking you gays and get to the cars, I need coffee.” Y/N laughed as she tossed her hair over her shoulder and clicked past the girls, linking her arm with Mals and heading out the doors.
When the girls did get to brunch, they filled the little cafe up with the sounds of their laughter and conversation. As Y/N joked around with Mal and Sonnett, she’d occasionally glance up to find her favorite pair of brown eyes struggling to look away from her. Focusing on the latte she was sipping, she allowed herself to think of the night before, of the feelings of Tobin’s nails scraping her thighs, of her lips ghosting across her neck, of her tongu-
“Oh my GOD, Y/N!” Startled, Y/N nearly dropped her coffee as she looked up like a deer in headlights at Crystal whose jaw was nearly on the floor.
“What?” She questioned, confused as to why Crystal and now more of her teammates were looking at her as though she’d sprouted a second head.
“Where the hell did those come from?!” Sonnett half shouted, her cold fingers brushing against Y/N’s collarbone. Flinching away, the young player looked to see what the girls were staring at. When she saw them, she both internally laughed and cursed. Right on her collarbone were two dark bruises, now completely visible to everyone as her blazer had since shifted to the side and off her shoulder.
“Who in the hell gave you hickeys?” Kelley hissed, growing very protective of the young girl.
“Huh? Ohhhh, these? I don’t know. Must be from the ball Tobin nailed me with at practice yesterday.” This time, Tobin actually did choke, sputtering on her coffee. Luckily it was only Y/N who noticed the reaction, doing her best to keep an innocent face as her teammates struggled to accept her lie.
“Are you sure? Because those look a lot like hickeys to me.” Lindsey challenged as she looked at her longtime teammate who just chuckled and shrugged.
“Well I guess you’d certainly know, wouldn’t you?” Y/N teased, of course referencing the array of bruises that Sonnett had left all over Lindsey’s chest on her last Portland visit. Lindsey and Sonnett both went wide eyed and turned bright red.
“This isn’t about me!” Lindsey attempted to counter but it was too late, the girls had already caught on and were fully invested in this new discovery.
Sighing deeply, Y/N pulled her blazer back into its place as she tuned back into the conversation at the table. Mal was still eyeing her with a slightly skeptical look but other than that, Y/N was in the clear.
That was until they got back to the hotel.
“Alright, fess up.” Mal fixed Y/N with a pointed look as they walked into their hotel room.
“To what?” She questioned, sitting down on the edge of the bed to kick off her heels.
“Where did those actually come from?” Pointing an accusatory finger, Mal jumped onto the bed beside her best friend.
“I already told y’all at brunch. We were at practice yesterday and I accidentally stepped wrong and took a ball to the chest from Tobin.” Y/N grumbled the excuse in a dismissive fashion as she finally got her heels off and turned to sit cross legged on the bed facing Mal.
“Please, I’d sooner believe that Tobin ACTUALLY gave them to you herself before I believe you accidentally stepped in front of a ball.” Mal snorted, not realizing at first the way that her bestfriends face completely flushed.
“What?” The forward asked, finally realizing that Y/N had gone completely silent.
“Nothing.” Y/N simply whispered back, focusing on the pink polish on her fingernails. Mal stared at her in confusion, trying to figure out what was going on and why she’d suddenly shut down. As Mal mentally rewound the conversation in her head, she realized exactly what it was he had said.
“Holy shit, Y/N/N! You’re not seriously telling me tha-”
“NO!” Y/N yelled with the full force of her chest, startling the small girl in front of her. “No, I’m not telling you anything.” Her voice was lowered to a whisper this time as she still refused to look up at Mal whose jaw was currently dropped to the floor.
“Okay so if you’re not telling me anything then I guess we’ll have to talk about another situation.” Y/N looked up now, eyeing her friend suspiciously.
“Hypothetically speaking,” Mal began and Y/N nearly laughed. “Could those bruises on your neck that are totally not hickeys be from one Tobin Heath.”
“Hypothetically?”
“Hypothetically.”
“Then yes, hypothetically.” Y/N was certain that Mal’s eyes were near the point of falling out of her head at how wide eyed she’s gone. In fact, it would’ve been humorous if she wasn’t engaged in an internal civil war. What on god’s green earth was she admitting to?
“Hypothetically, this was during team bonding night? In the closet?” The irony wasn’t lost on her now but she nodded in confirmation regardless.
“Okay… but why does it matter this much? You’re not ga-”
“Hypothetically!” Y/N hissed, wanting to, needing to, hold this false sense of anonymity for some time longer.
“Okay, okay. Well, hypothetically speaking, you’ve never had a girlfriend and you’ve never even kissed a girl?” Mal questioned, tilting her head to the side in confusion as she attempted to connect dots.
“Never. It’s always been boys but I mean I never dated much anyways because of soccer…. Hypothetically.” Y/N admitted, fixating on the way the pink flakes of nailpolish fell from her fingertips.
“Alright. So if you’re not gay, why does it matter so much?”
“Hypothetically, I don’t know. Hell, realistically I don’t know.” She finally conceded, her head falling into her hands as her voice cracked.
“Hey, hey, babygirl come here.” Mal opened her arms and pulled her best friend into her, running her hands gently through the hair as they rocked together slowly.
“It’s okay Y/N/N, you’re probably just confused right now.” She knew it was supposed to be reassuring but somehow it felt like the exact opposite.
“Confused?” Y/N asked, sniffling as she sat with her head buried into Mal’s chest. The other girl simply hummed in response as she continued to play with Y/N’s hair, attempting to find the words to say.
“Mhm, it’s probably been a while since you’ve been with anyone and Tobin gave you what you wanted, y'know? It probably doesn’t mean anything. I mean, I’ve kissed Rose a hundred times playing silly games like that with the team but that doesn’t mean that it has to mean anything. You’re just confused and overthinking it all right now, there’s nothing there.”
And that was that. Neither girl said anything else. They just sat like that for the rest of their evening, Y/N wrapped securely in Mal’s arms as they laid together in the silence of the room. That was, until Mal got up to go to dinner. A dinner Y/N refused to go to as she stayed in bed, saying that she didn’t feel so great. She would blame the mimosas at brunch but somehow she knew it was something or someone else that had her stomach turning.
It’s never worth it when you’re Little Miss Perfect…
It turns out Y/N was confused.
She was confused at breakfast, confused during warmups, and even confused on the pitch during practice.
It didn’t take long for her teammates to pick up on it as they watched their normally hyperactive forward hardly jog after the ball. Her passes were sloppy and her defense was weak, a clear sign that her head was in the clouds.
“Y/N, here!” Vlatko called from the sidelines, pointing at the spot beside him. Y/N jogged off the pitch and over to her coach who nodded for her to sit down on the bench. Tailing her were a pair of trainers, fixed on taking her temperature and checking for injuries to try deduce if there was a physical ailment holding her back.
“It’s nothing,” Y/N sighed, shaking off the worried hands and eyes fixated on her. “I’m just having an off day Coach, I’ll be alright.” Vlatko nodded his head in understanding but couldn’t shake the feeling that he wasn’t being told the whole truth.
“No, I know you, this isn’t just an off day for you to push through.” His words were firm in his normal, coaching way, but there was a gentleness behind it that he often reserved for the young star. Having played for Vlatko in the NWSL over the years had curated a strong coach and player relationship between the two that was now proving to be as important off the pitch it was on.
“It’s not benefiting anyone for you to be out there if you’re off like that, we don’t need you getting hurt or hurting someone else. Why don’t you change out and rest or see Hacker. You can rejoin us at weights this evening.” It may have seemed to be a question but there was a finality to Vlatko’s words, implying that he wasn’t about to take no for an answer.
In response, Y/N simply nodded and trudged off to the locker room where she grabbed her bag and didn’t even bother to change. With a halfhearted wave to her concerned teammates, she loaded herself into the van and let the staffer drive her back to the hotel. While the suggestion of going to see the team’s psychologist still stood, Y/N was certain she’d much rather prefer the comfort of her hotel bed than the judgemental eyes of Hacker.
And that’s where she stayed, once again cocooned in her blankets and hiding from the outside world.
It’s only for a little bit, I just need a break, was what she told herself. It’s also what she told her troubled teammates as they slowly filtered back from the field, peaking their heads in to check on her. One by one they all did this, peaking in to see how she was holding up.
All of them but one.
She wasn’t going to say that it bothered her, but it did. Of course it did. How could it not? Tobin was one of her best friends and checking up on her would be the best friend thing to do, right?
Coincidentally, that was the same argument Tobin was having in her head as she stood outside of room 117.
Though, her argument was more: could she control herself not to say or do something stupid while checking up on Y/N, the girl who is supposed to only be her close friend and teammate, when they’re there in her hotel room alone.
The simple answer was no. Ever since the incident in the closet, ironically enough Tobin thought, the two girls had avoided each other like the plague as they attempted to tackle dealing with everything going on. Though, in truth, Tobin didn’t want to ignore her teammate. She missed her smile, her laugh, and everything else about her that had molded her to grow into the star that she was.
But that was the real problem, wasn’t it? Everything Tobin loved about Y/N were the same traits that made it impossible to get a hand on her. Those traits that she loved like her contagious laughter and smiles, her focus and ambition, her drive to be the best that she could be but never pushing down anyone in her way. She was perfectly convinced that these traits were everything that the world had come to see and idolize her for as well, putting her on a pedestal that was far beyond Tobin’s reach.
Because even if by some chance she was gay and liked Tobin,  Y/N was the football worlds Little Miss Perfect and there was no way she would risk that title for someone like Tobin. Right?
So, friends it is.
And friends check on friends.
So Tobin knocked.
She figured it would be unlocked, that after a day of being pestered by her teammates, Y/N would have just left the door open so that they could come and go. But it wasn’t.
The door was locked and there was knocking, which meant an emotionally exhausted Y/N was forced to find her footing and open it. When she did, she wished she could close it.
Standing eye to eye with Tobin Powell Heath was perhaps one of the most terrifying things a human being could experience.
When you add the fact that Y/N fully knew she looked as though she had been run over by a bus, this experience somehow became scarier. She had no fancy clothes or makeup to shield her from Tobin’s pensive stares or a USWNT crest on her chest to boost her ever shaking confidence.
Standing in that doorway, it was just Y/N and Tobin.
“Hey…” Tobin muttered, somehow daring to be the first to break the silence between the two.
“Hi.” Y/N whispered in response as she slowly stepped aside to open the door wider, a silent invitation for the forward to enter the room
The tense silence ensued as the pair both crossed into the room, the only interruption being the soft click as the hotel door locked back into place behind them.
“I’m sorry.” Tobin finally managed, standing with her back against the wall and crossing her arms in close to her chest. Y/N took a moment to observe the pose as it felt unusual for her to see Tobin so tense and lacking her regular chilled expressions. Unknowingly to her though, Tobin was taking this silence as a moment to do the same, watching closely as Y/N settled herself onto the edge of the bed, her small frame practically swallowed by the large, thin cotton shirt she had certainly stolen from Sam’s suitcase.
“Oh it’s fine, I’m feeling much better now. I just haven’t been sleeping well and really needed to be up here and rest.” If the forward wasn’t easily fooled by Y/N’s dismissive response or her tight lipped smile, the way that she couldn’t bring herself to look up into Tobin’s eyes completely gave her away.
“That’s not what I’m talking about.” Y/N’s gaze flitted upwards now, a small storm of panic flashing in her eyes as Tobin spoke.
Did they really want to go there right now?
“I know everything from the other night must have confused you and it didn’t mean anything-” Crack.
Apparently so.
“-but it was just a game and Kelley is stupid so like don’t worry about it. I mean, if you need to keep avoiding me-”
“Shut up, Tobin.” Y/N”s voice barely reached above a whisper, not nearly loud enough to interrupt Tobin’s continuous rambling.
“-because you’re disgusted or whatever so like it’s fine if-”
“Tobin.” Still soft.
“And I can just give you space or whatever you need so yo-”
“Tobin!” This time, Tobin stops. Now standing mere feet away from Tobin and looking, well, frustrated, Y/N stood within reach of the forward who currently resembled a deer in headlights.
“For the love of God, please shut up.” Y/N sighed, pinching at the bridge of her nose in frustration.
“I-I’m sorry, I’ll just g-”
“No!” In a flash, Y/N reached out and snatched Tobin’s wrist before she could fully turn to walk away.
“No, no. It’s just, God, I’m sorry.” Releasing the other woman’s wrist, she stepped back slowly, shakily.
“What? What for?” Tobin was rubbing her sore wrist, ignoring the tingling heat that spread up her arm from the touch, while fixing Y/N with a questioning look. Hadn’t she been the one who came in here to apologize? Why was it that she was the one saying sorry instead?
“Just, everything I guess? I shouldn’t have pushed you to play that night or gone to the closet with you or, yeah. Yeah.” Her back was to Tobin now, not wanting her to see her face as it was taking everything she had just to hold back the tears she knew were threatening to choke her up.
“Hey, no, it’s okay. What’s that thing Kelley always says, it takes two to tango or whatever?” Y/N couldn’t help but snort at how on brand the comment was. In such a tense moment, leave it to Tobin to awkwardly quote one of their stupid teammates because she couldn’t find her own words.
“Yeah, that’s it.”
“See, it’s okay. So if you need to keep avoiding me than I understand that because I know you need space because you’re disgusted by m-”
“Wait, what?” Interrupting Tobin seemed to be a theme now as Y/N spun on her heels to face the woman, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“I said I understand that you need space?” Tobin repeated, not quite getting the confusion of her words.
“No, not that. The other part, about being d…” She trailed off, not quite liking the taste of the word in her mouth.
“Disgusted? The part about you being disgusted by me?” A look of dismay washed over Y/N’s face and Tobin was rather taken aback by the glint of sadness that flashed in her eyes.
“You think that I’m disgusted by you now, Tobes?” The nickname rolled sweetly off her tongue and straight to Tobin’s heart. Everything in Y/N’s body was screaming at her. How could she do this? How could she make her favorite person in the entire world think that she was disgusted by her?
“I mean, yeah? I figured since we kissed and you avoided me like the plague after that you just wanted nothing to do with me.” Tobin admitted, her gaze falling down to her hands where she anxiously twisted at her rings.
Then, much to Tobins surprise, Y/N laughed. It wasn’t her normal laugh, the full bellied cackle that the team had gotten so used to hearing echo across the pitch, nor was it her interview laugh, the kind that held an air of politeness and rang like little silver bells. This laugh was something that could only be described as rueful.
“I could never be disgusted by you.” It was Tobin’s turn to now look at Y/N in confusion, and if Y/N wasn’t so close to tears she probably would’ve laughed at the way Tobs tilted her head like a little puppy. Tobin though, was deeply perplexed. She reasoned with herself that perhaps she hadn’t heard her right, as the other woman’s voice had once again become just the shadow of a whisper.
“What?” Another rueful chuckle came from Y/N now as she finally removed her eyes from the floor and looked up into Tobin’s, stripping back any boundary of emotion left standing between the two.
“I said that I could never be disgusted with you. Maybe with myself, but never with you.” Tobin’s confusion softened, whether it was her words or their closeness, she couldn’t be sure.
“But, you’ve been avoiding me ever since… wait, disgusted with yourself?” The corner of Y/N’s lips ticked up ever so slightly, finding herself somewhat amused that Tobin would think that her avoidance was at all her fault.
“I have been, and I’m sorry for that. It wasn’t your fault, the avoidance I mean, that was on me because honestly I was disgusted with myself and everything I was feeling, I guess?” The admittance came out rather sloppily, Y/N’s words hardly stitching themselves together into coherent sentences.
“Feelings?” Tobin’s voice was the soft one now, barely daring to question what she thought she was hearing.
“Yeah, feelings. I mean, I’m this football golden girl who has always done everything for her love of soccer and now suddenly I can’t even trust myself to be close to my best friend? I think that warrants a little disgust.” Y/N sounded somewhere between defeated and distraught.
“Why couldn’t you trust yourself to be close to me?” Tobin echoed her friends last sentence, her voice nothing but a low rasp and she took a step away from the wall and further into her friend’s space, eyes full of concern and… something more.
“Because,” Y/N swallowed harshly as Tobin stepped closer, somehow noting that behind her legs was the end of her bed and that she was practically pinned in her current position.
“Because I can’t trust myself. I meant what I said in that closet, Tobin. I love everything that football has given to me and I am so thankful for my platform but I am so sick of these expectations.” Tobin was nearly toe to toe with her now and Y/N was holding solid eye contact as she talked, sputtering out her sentences as her breathing turned shallow.
“I meant what I said too, it’s amazing how you are who you are but…” At this point, the two were close enough now that their bodies were nearly pressed together and Y/N could hardly keep her knees from giving out.
“…if you don’t want to follow their expectations,” Tobin’s hands were on Y/N hips now, her thumbs gently brushing over her hipbone as the rest of her fingertips dug gently into her barely covered skin.
“Don’t.”
Without another word, Y/N’s hand grasped the front of Tobin’s shirt and pulled her in so harshly that their chests collided and Y/N’s knees gave way, causing both women to collapse to the bed beneath them. Their bodies seamlessly fit together as their lips met for the second time. Unlike the kiss in the closet, this kiss wasn’t based in lust or in need, but in passion. Moving together, the pair continued this kiss until Y/N’s head was spinning, though she wasn’t sure if it was from the forwards touch or the lack of oxygen. Tobin certainly felt it too as she reluctantly pulled away, biting softly on Y/N’s bottom lip before finally letting go, causing a soft whine to come from the girl beneath her.
But in that moment, with Tobin hovering above her with swollen lips and her hazel eyes staring down at her softly, Y/N decided that if loving someone is never worth it when your little miss perfect, that maybe she needed to find a new title.
Because Tobin Heath? Tobin Heath was worth it.
Christmas? It’s Only November. (Tobin Heath x Reader)
A/N: Just something short to celebrate Christmas. I know it's late.... Sorry.
You walk into the lobby of the team hotel for this camp utterly exhausted. You play for Arsenal in the UK and the flight back to the US always leaves you exhausted and a little jetlagged.
You’re so tired that you barely register anything that’s happening around you, focused mainly on getting the key to your room so you can maybe get in a quick nap before team dinner.
You’re so out of it that you don’t realise you walked into someone until you feel strong arms holding you up and a voice you've been eagerly awaiting to hear cut through your sleepy daze.
“Watch where you’re going Y/N/N.” Tobin says, steadying you with her arms. You look absolutely exhausted, and from the way you walked into her in a daze, she knows you need sleep.
“Toby?” you mumble, blinking a few times to refocus your eyes on your surroundings.
“Hey babe.” Tobin says, looking at you with that lopsided grin you know she only gives to you.
You start to allow yourself to sink into the woman’s embrace, now that you know for sure it’s her arms that you’re in, but at the last second you jump away, your sleepy brain realising that you’re in the middle of the lobby, where any one of your teammates could see you.
“Where’s the team?” you ask, looking wildly around the lobby to see if anyone saw you and Tobin.
Your relationship with the forward was something both of you decided not to tell anyone on the team yet, one teammate in particular, your older sister and Tobin’s best friend, Christen Press.
It’s not that you’re ashamed of your relationship or anything like that, you just wanted to be sure that it was serious, before getting everyone else involved. You’ve only been dating for six months and because of Tobin’s friendship with Christen you didn’t want to put your sister, and the rest of the team, in a difficult position if either of you weren’t sure about your relationship and things ended.
“Hey, relax. Everyone’s already in their rooms. I was waiting for you because we got roomed together.” Tobin says calmly, lifting up your room keys to show you.
“Oh.” you sigh, letting out a deep breath you didn’t realise you were holding.
“Yeah, come one, let’s get you to bed. You look like a zombie, a cute zombie.” Tobin says, already reaching for your suitcase and the duffel handing from your shoulder.
“You don’t have to take…”
“Shut up, you look like you’re going to topple over.” Tobin says, grabbing your bags before trying to lead you to the elevator and eventually your room.
When you get to your room, you immediately flop headfirst onto the closest bed to you, much to Tobin’s amusement. She watches you with a small smile on her face as she drops your bags before walking over to you so she can take your shoes off and shuffle you into a more comfortable position on the bed.
When she finally manages to get your shoes off your feet and rids you of your hoodie – you got unnaturally hot when you slept, so you would die with the hoodie on – she takes her own shoes off before slipping in behind you on the bed, immediately wrapping her arms around your barely awake form.
“Sweet dreams, love.” Tobin whispers against your ear, grinning when you shuffle closer to her, your breath evening out as you drift into a deep slumber.
˳˳˳˳
“Honey, wake up.” Tobin whispers against your ear before peppering kisses across your face in an attempt to wake you up.
As much as she’d love to just stay in bed with you and cuddle for the rest of the evening, Christen called and told her to come down to dinner, and to bring you with.
“I know you’re awake.” Tobin whispers against your lips, lips that quirk up into a smile when she sees your cheek twitch while she presses kisses across your face.
Your eyes flutter open reluctantly but a smile is brought to your face almost immediately when you’re met with the most gorgeous pair of chocolatey brown eyes you could spend the rest of your life getting lost in.
“Hi.” Tobin breathes out, looking down at you with a soft smile on her face.
“Let me sleep.” you mumble, a pout firmly on your face.
“No, you need to wake up. Your sister told me to bring you down for dinner.” Tobin says, before leaning down and kissing your pout away.
“I hate you.”
“I love you too honey, now get up.” Tobin says before getting of the bed and sitting on one of the chairs in the room to wait for you to get done.
˳˳˳˳
“Do we really need to go down? I wanna spend time with you.” you ask Tobin as you continue to put your shoes on.
“It’s a mandatory team dinner and you need to eat.” Tobin says, coming over to sit next to you.
“I can think of other things to eat that don’t involve leaving this room.” you say, your voice dropping an octave as you run your fingertip along the hem of Tobin’s shorts.
“As much as I would like that, Christen’s going to get suspicious.” Tobin says, grabbing your hand before you can tempt her any further. She knows just how convincing you can be when you want to be.
“But I miss you Toby, god it’s been so long since I’ve had your hands on me, and your tongue, fuck Tobin. We have a room to ourselves.” you say, biting your bottom lip at the thought of Tobin touching you, and her tongue on you.
“We’ll have plenty of time after dinner for me to show you just how much I’ve missed you.” Tobin whispers against your ear, squeezing your thigh before getting up.
“You’re such a fucking tease.”
“Come on, let’s go before Chris shows up here to fetch you herself.” Tobin says, a cheeky grin on her face letting you know just how she felt about what you said.
“Fine.” you grumble, allowing Tobin to pull you up off of the bed.
˳˳˳˳
“Took you two long enough to get down here.” Megan says when you and Tobin come to sit at the table.
“This one didn’t wanna get up.” Tobin says, the rest of the table giggling at the pout on your face.
“Shut up. I just got off a twelve-hour flight.” you grumble, stabbing at the food in your plate.
“Guys leave her alone.” Christen says, coming to your defence when she sees just how tired you look. She knows how hectic those flights are for you, and how bad the jetlag can be.
“Thank you.” you say, sending a small smile to your older sister who just smiles back at you.
“Fine, fine, we’ll leave baby Pressy alone.” Megan concedes, but you can hear the slight teasing tone in her voice.
“Have you finally found yourself a hot European girlfriend?” Kelley asks.
No one notices the frown that settles on Tobin’s brow except for Alex, who narrows her eyes at her teammate, making sure to ask her about it later.
“You keep asking me that, and my answer is always the same. I’m not looking for a ‘hot European girlfriend’.”
“Do you plan on staying single for the rest of your life? You have a prime opportunity to date some of the hottest women in Europe and you’re, ‘not looking’?”
“Exactly.” you say, trying – unsuccessfully – to stifle a yawn.
“Why?” Kelley persists.
“Because I’m already dating Tobin.” you say without thinking, or seeing the panicked look that settles on Tobin’s face as everyone turns to look at her.
“Y/N…” Christen’s soft voice is like a bucket of cold water to your tired brain, waking you up to the words that just left your mouth.
Your eyes immediately shoot up to meet Tobin’s, and you can see the surprise and slight fear swimming in her eyes.
“Shit.” you whisper to yourself when you see everyone else looking at you expectantly.
“Merry Christmas?” you say with grimace, trying to distract everyone from what you just said. But if course that doesn't work.
“Christmas? It’s only November.” Megan says, narrowing her eyes at you.
“You’ve got some explaining to do.” Christen says softly, looking between both you and Tobin.
Y/n: "I just saw the biggest, pumpkin at the market today."
Tobin: "Really? How big are we talking?"
Y/n: "It was plump, like a beach ball. I couldn't resist buying it."
Tobin: "Sounds great, let's make a beautiful carved pumpkin from it"
--------
A/n; Yes I found a way of using plump :)
