It’s raining again this morning. This late in May and we’re still getting rain – as much as I want to be wearing sandals all the time, I’m glad we have the rain. So far, there are no wildfires on the Island, but the interior has several, which is disheartening but not unexpected. You can’t go this long with less-than-average rainfall and not have some of them. But the Island is definitely living…

I have been struggling lately with being able to focus on – well anything, really. I am so easily distracted, derailed and or diverted from the task at hand that I am surprised that I have got anything done. And the things I have completed are done out of sheer bullish determination. I am nothing, if not stubborn. But I have never been this hare-brained before and I don’t really know what to do…

So birthday celebrations this year went relatively well. I feel like, ever since I hit 40, that I have a lot less energy that I am willing to spend on things that a lot of other people do: like the opinions of others.
