#toga is the only villain trying to not give up completely (she hasn't)

I know the hero society sucking ass plot point is important and deserves proper follow up, but man it has really overtaken all the other parts of the villains' issues to talk about on a meta level.

Not enough people on this site talk about how the remaining 4 League members all hate themselves to the core and through their self destructive methods are desperately seeking, waiting, and hoping for someone to give them a reason to stop hating themselves so much.

I know it's not the most desirable way to use the societal failures in this particular manga, but the way I see the macro-scale issues being utilized in the story to support the villain side of the narrative is for all of the League using it to explain how and why they ended up where they currently are. But that's the extent to what I see the villains' characters using it for.

Are they asking for it to be fixed? I'd argue that no, they're not. Not now at least. Because think about it--in their minds there is no hope for them. They have stopped caring about a "fix" and are just looking to get rid of it all. They don't care about fixing it because they don't see a place for themselves in it--no matter what--even if it WAS fixed.

Because they hate themselves and the people they were born as.

The way the story has set this up is this:

If the villains can't stop hating themselves--escape their self-destruction and self-loathing and hopeless mindsets--then offering a fix for society is ultimately pointless.

Because yeah, someone can promise change on a large scale to them--but at this point in time, right now, that doesn't matter. Because even if you do fix the issues, they still don't see themselves as people worthy of joining it with everyone else--fixed system or broken system.

They hate themselves and that is the very first issue that needs to be handled for their wellbeing and salvation. Nothing can even sort of be fixed until they are stopped. They will not stop until they are given hope.

I'll be one of the only ones in this little corner of the fandom to say that society can take the back burner on this one. It's necessary to be looked at and fixed and changed, but looking at things on an individual character basis--that's actually not what's necessary at this point in time.

Afterward, yes. Now? No.

Didn't even want to be a hero once he got his quirk. it was just something he mentioned like 3 times when he was 5.

Does not like his parents at all

Comfort eater. He is stressed out of his mind

Grew up extremely pampered

Will just make up stories from when he lived in france

Mina

Adopted, parents passed a few years ago after a building collapsed

The day she learns about aroace identities is the day she heals

She didn't know anything about kirishima besides his name by the time they started ua so she hunted down his old friends to learn about him. Unsurprisingly they didn't know all that much

She's the one who kills/removes the bugs from the dorms

Shes relatively popular on social media

Asui

Has firmly decided against kids. She loves her siblings but god no she is NEVER raising a child again

Enjoys baking, she does it with Sato often

Swears the most in 1a

Horrible posture, Iida is constantly trying to fix it

Iida

Fear of failure

Had like. No childhood. Tensei tried but he just wouldn't watch many movies unless he could be tricked into believing it would help his future

Very anxious kid

He genuinely really wants to connect and relate to his classmates but he struggles with it. Part of him wishes he could've just had normal teenage experiences

Terrible at making jokes. He tries so hard but they never land. He got todoroki and no one else to laugh once and he is still reeling from it

Ochako

Post-war she thinks about Toga like. Every day. She never stops grieving that girl

She becomes determined to reach out and save as many people as humanly possible

Later in life she ends up fostering kids with “difficult” and “villainous” quirks and encourages them to pursue their dreams

She adores animals. Her favourite place growing up was the pet store

She feels a bit guilty about having to move to the dorms. She felt obligated to help out her parents around the house

Gym rat. All about proteins and gains. She is determined to get a six pack at some point. Though she does struggle to gain muscle.

Ojiro

Throws the hardest punches. He has broken several of his classmates' noses accidentally

Has to constantly hear about hagakure's ex’s and he hates all of them

Enjoys embroidery and knitting. Eventually learns to make clothes. He gives them as gifts and sells some for extra money

Lots of awards from tournaments

He was raised in a cult but hasn't exactly realised yet, he will talk about the most insane things and act like theyre regular parts of growing up. He lives with his grandparents now

Eventually finds out he is really good with throwing knives

insanely oblivious. Sex jokes fly right over his head (they have to be explained to him) and he can never tell when he's being hit on

Denki

His mum is a pro hero and his dad is in jail. They both love him dearly, despite the fact that he was a complete accident

Was home alone very often. His mum travels a lot for work. He can have friends stay over for weeks at a time without her ever finding out

His dad was the one who taught him how to hotwire cars

Out of everyone in 1a, he has the most dating experience. He dated like half his middle school class and they all ended on good terms. Was a lot of people's gay awakening

The lightning bolt is natural, shockingly enough. No one believes him until he pulls out pictures from when he was a baby

He was born with a full head of hair actually

Sometimes helium balloons will just float at him

Kirishima

Absolutely tank, can take anything

This also applies to food. He can eat inedible things and be completely fine.

Was huge into DND in middle school. Wants to set up a game for 1a but has only convinced tokoyami and midoriya so far

Was really disappointed when his quirk manifested

Koda

Insomnia

He was bullied throughout middle school and sometimes still expects his classmates to be cruel to him

Lived with his mother and grandma. His father died when he was young

He was ecstatic when his quirk manifested. He had several pets as a kid and would try and communicate with them

Once unintentionally managed to get wolves to help him fight in a 1v1 (he was fighting sero who damn near passed out from fear)

Allergic to cat hair but he refuses to let that stop him

Present mic will not look at him the same after the bug incident

Sato

Stress bakes like crazy. Sometimes all of 1a will wake up to a cupcake outside their door that he made at like 4am

He is the only one who likes his hero costume, everyone else thinks it's lame

Has 4 siblings. He's dead in the middle age wise

His family is dramatic as hell. They get into the pettiest arguments ever and then don't talk for a month. He ended up having to play peacekeeper pretty frequently

Moving to the dorms was a well needed break for him

His hair is dyed. He's naturally ginger. He has not told a soul

Shoji

Covered head to toe in scars. Denki made the mistake of asking about it once, and the boys were greeted with the most horrifying story they had ever heard while changing into their hero costumes

Has been in mandatory therapy for years

He really enjoys being the tallest. He will sometimes hold things over his head just to tease tokoyami

When his quirk manifested he was scared shitless

Lived in an orphanage and is currently in custody of UA

His parents go on to have more kids after him and he never learns about them. He did always want siblings

Jirou

Has special little ear muffs for her jack's.

Her hair was done in the bathroom at 3am the day of the entrance exam

The heartbeat in her hair is only visible in the light

While she's great at picking up instruments, she cannot draw to save her life. It's like the only thing kaminari is better than her at

Sero

His hair grows like that naturally. He figures his ends are supposed to look like tape dispenser teeth as some joke from the universe. Got tired of trying to fix it and now just lets it grow out

He has been using his quirk to do parkour since he was 9. He used to terrify his parents with the stunts he would pull

He has an older sister in collage

Tokoyami

Extremely religious parents. They got him an exorcism once, just to be sure.

Him + dark shadow fight like siblings

He'd get really quiet when he was upset while ds would start shrieking

Becoming a hero was dark shadows idea

He speaks like that cuz he read gothic poetry he found around the house as a kid

He is a complete mutation. No one in his family has a quirk even remotely similar to dark shadow or has a bird head

Dark shadow used to be way more abstract but took the bird form more permanently after tokoyami got more of a handle on it.

Tokoyami is on record of having an extremely unstable quirk.

He always felt the need to suppress his emotions to control his quirk but it backfired spectacularly. He's healthier about it now

Also, dark shadow is fully sentient. A bit behind developmentally, and struggles to comprehend things, but shockingly sentient

He has a really hard time putting on weight. Like all his bones are visible

Todoroki

allergic to onions. He eats them anyways

He dispises his father with his whole chest sometimes but he also wants to give him a chance because he's his father, yk?

He bases a lot of his opinions on what he thinks he is supposed to feel. Like he doesn't mind pineapple on pizza but since everyone else online thinks it's the worst thing ever I guess he does too¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

He's not completely blind in his left eye, but his vision is cloudy and really poor

Hagakure

Desperately wants to find “the one”. She used to date whoever she could just to try and find the love of her life. It lead to a lot of dumb drama and bad middle school relationships

She's great at makeup, but doesn't wear it outside of her room because it used to freak people out

While she gets upset about her quirk sometimes, she does love being able to sneak around unseen

Whenever someone's door opens they instinctively tell Hagakure to get out, even if it was just the wind

Comes from a relatively wealthy family

She needs glasses but won't wear them

Bakugo

he thinks his friends are the funniest people on earth but he will DIE before he ever tells them that or actually laughs at their jokes

Legitimately bit Monoma once and he was so confused

Used to model for his parents' businesses. Midoriya has pictures on hand in UA now that he realises people will actually make fun of bakugo instead of worshipping the ground he walks on

Comically long skincare and hair routine

UA has humbled him HARD

Actually has a very good relationship with his parents. They were very encouraging. To a fault, but still.

Midoriya

Had a diary in middle school where he would write about the ways he would violently torture his bullys

He finds it again in like 2nd year and he cringes so hard. Unfortunately Bakugo also reads the diary and gets freaked out

Midoriya will listen to whatevers being said with 100% of his attention so whoever he's talking to doesn't feel ignored. The exception his whenever he's daydreaming about the plot and exposition dumping to the audience

Some time in 2nd year, he starts intentionally pissing bakugou off because he can get away with it now

His school record makes it seem like he's a complete delinquent and Azaiwa was a little surprised when he actually met him

When the war ends he gets clowned on ferociously for that bald spot. Omg the poor guy is so embarrassed

Momo

Everyone loves her but LORD is she out of touch sometimes. Has no understanding of how much things actually cost and how affordable they actually are

She styles her hair to be spikey. She wanted to seem cool and rough around the edges when she joined ua. It didn't work

Crazy anxiety. She spends a lot of time with Koda and his rabbit.

Her parents launder money and haven't been caught yet. She has no idea

Bonus:

Shoji and Todoroki bond over childhood trauma

Everyone is convinced Jirou, Denki and Momo are gonna become a throuple at some point. Bets have been placed about when

Bakugou does genuinely consider denki his friend

Quirkless training usually comes down to ojiro and Bakugou, tho Midoriya has won once or twice

Dark shadow is deemed a complete menace and genuinely has beef with some of 1a (Bakugo, Iida, ect.) but for some reason, dark shadow and Sato in particular have become sworn enemies

Ochako and Kirishima asked Ojiro to teach them martial arts and they have never seen him more excited

Tokoyami, Todoroki and Bakugo are COVERED in burn scars post war

Everyone assumes Hagakure and Ojiro are dating but they surprisingly aren't (yet))

Class1a occasionally binges shows together. They usually get super attached to a character who reminds them of someone in 1a and then get really sad whenever something bad happens to that character

LOL, EVERYONE HYPING FOR OCHAKO TO BE ON THE JUMP GIGA COVER, KNOWING THAT IT'S HIGHLY UNLIKELY....

And yeah while I know, she played a significant role in the VH arc and has become a major player in the final battle, I just simply don't want to get my hopes up.

The first reason is that she has already appeared in the SHONEN JUMP COVER with Deku (even though Deku's costume color apparently hogged all the spotlight)

One more reason for her not being on the cover could be because she is still yet to prove herself as a Hero of the story.

She hasn't even outwardly stated like Deku that she wants to save Toga.

She just said that not knowing her POV made her uncomfortable and despite the inevitable battle taking place she doesn't want to ignore Toga as a person, which is one of the more realistic approaches tbh and unlike Deku who's more driven by, say Agenda.

Deku is like, Save Everyone. Even if he himself was living in this trauma (Bakugo nearly dying, Aizawa and All Might stuff) but she always directed his anger towards AFO and deemed Shigaraki as a child needing help which would have been fine but only if it had more substance? They've met like 3 times? I find it hard for Deku to be able to empathize with someone like Shigarki.

Horikoshi said in his interview that

"Destruction and Saving are both born out of ego, whose ego will win at the end, or is it even a matter of winning?"

It perfectly encapsulates what I'm trying to say. Deku was always shown as a selfless hero while Shigaraki is the current most dangerous villain.

But was it a matter of Ego all along? With Deku, it might as well be.....So, maybe his wanting to be like Kacchan or surpass All Might was just born out of his complex ego?

Deku may not look like it, but just like Bakugo and Shouto he's a complex character. And well, so is Uraraka.

We see her inferiority complex as early as the SF when she refused to take help from Deku's notes, saying that she would feel ashamed if she didn't do it herself.

It comes into the picture again when she gets jealous of Camie but being the practical person she is, she decides to completely give up on Deku.

During the aftermath, she was devastated to see the destruction that happened and the role that a hero has to play. Maybe realizing that she simply can't be doing it just as a job anymore.

Toga's confrontation in the first war and the mob turning against Deku have made her conscious of the gray world as it challenges her own ideologies.

And now finally, she and Toga are getting a chance to battle it all out!

Months of frustration and chaos and running away is about to end. We know Ochako wants to save Toga because the narrative has implied it that way but she herself has never stated that to be the case.

In fact, she was preparing herself for the worst-case scenario, i.e. before she has a chat with Deku. Currently, she looks more confident about what she wants and it looks like a quirk awakening is coming soon.

It's all yet to come...

I personally would love to see an OCHAKO JUMP GIGA COVER but with how much exposure she has already gotten lately, I don't want to get my hopes up only to meet with disappointment.

If they're gonna do it then do it right!

Deku Origin Story

This is the first chapter of a fanfiction I’m writing over on Wattpad it’s BakuDeku/ Villiandeku/ UA villain rehab. I hope you guys enjoy and let me know what you think?

2 years ago 7th grade....

Midoriya: "Hey Kacchan could i talk to you alone"

Bakugo: " Fine nerd"

They walked out into the hallway away from all of their classmate. Izuku was standing with his back against the wall and his head staring at the ground trying to figure out the right worlds to say, Katsuki was facing him eyes glaring.

Bakugo: "Spit it out shitty Deku"

Midoriya: " I'm in love with you Kacchan, I always have been, I wanna be with you and us both be hero's together"

A single tear rolls down Izukus face, Katsuki just stares not knowing what to say his expression seemed to soften but Izuku couldn't see he was still staring at the ground.

The spiky haired blonde thought about what he just heard from the shorter green haired boy, its true hes always loved Izuku more than anything, But since he found out Izuku would never have a quirk he knew he couldn't give in to his feelings.

Not if he wanted to be the number one hero, He saw his feelings for Izuku as a weakness.

He didn't know what to do he was happy yet at the same time hurt, angry, a flood of emotions went through him and the only way he new how to handle it was to lash out on the boy he wanted more than anything.

Bakugo: " Ha you think I could ever love a shitty quirk-less deku like you"

As he started to walk away he could hear Izuku starting to cry, it hurt him so much.

He didn't want the other boy to love him anymore, He knew how it felt to hurt like that and if he couldn't stop how he felt he at least wanted the other boy to stop hurting.

" You know if you really want to be a hero that badly, there's actually another way. Just pray that you'll be born with a quirk in your next life and take a swan, dive off the roof of the building. "

He wanted Izuku to hate him, To be free of the feelings he had for him, Even if it hurt him.

School ended and on the way home Izuku was attacked by the Sludge Villain. All might swooped in and saved him Izuku being his biggest fan and after the day he had Needed to talk to him. After holding onto All Might when he took off he was flying threw the air when the mighty Golden haired hero noticed the small child he landed on top of a building.

All Might: "Not a very smart move. Bang on the door for a while, someone will let you in. Now I have to go, see you on the flip side".

Izuku: "Wait, not yet. One second".

All Might: "No, I don't have any time".

Izuku: " Wait, I HAVE TOO KNOW...Is it possible to become a hero even if I don't have a quirk?" " I'm a normal kid without any powers. Could I ever hope to be someone like you?"

All Might: "Without a quirk?" "Pro heroes are always having to risk their lives. Some villains just can't be bitten without powers". "So no, I honestly don't think you can be a hero without a quirk".

And with that all of Izukus hopes and dreams were gone.

He felt like maybe he should just kill him self take a swan dive just like kacchan said he should. After All Might left Izuku walked to the ledge and contemplated.

He stood there for 10 minutes lost in thought but was to scared to go through with it.

He went to the door and when finally someone came he just walked past them and kept going, He didn't know where he was walking he just continued on he didn't wanna go home he felt like a burden on his poor mother, a worthless loser at school. He felt like he had nothing to live for.

He eventually made his way into an alleyway, He'd been walking for hours it was already dark outside, He leaned against the cold brick wall of a run down building and sunk down to the ground his knees in his chest with his arms wrapped around his legs.

He took his phone out of his pocket to check the time it read 11:55. 'Huh' he thought to himself its almost midnight and still not a text from mom she must be working late to help support him. He hated how useless he felt and with that he threw his phone at the wall across from him. He curled up even tighter and started to cry.

After what felt like hours of him crying when its only been around 15 minutes he heard the voice of a boy " Hey whats wrong?" and then a females voice " Is he ok? Hes crying".

Izuku looked up to see a boy maybe 14? He had turquoise eyes, scars on his face and arms, piercings and spiky black hair, He was wearing a black hoodie with the words lowlife in red on it, black jeans and purple vans.

He then looked to his left and saw the girl now crouching next to him, She looked to be the same age as him 13. She had blonde hair in two messy buns, Yellow cat like eyes, She sported a big smile her fangs fully visible, She wore a beige cardigan with a blue skirt, blue knee highs and brown shoes.

Izuku was confused why were these two complete strangers asking if he was okay?

Toga:"Hi My names Himiko Togo but you can just call me Toga" she said with a giant grin and giggling.

Izuku: "My names Izuku but most people call me Deku" He looks back down at the ground trying not to start crying again.

Toga: " Doesn't that mean useless you don't look useless?"

Dabi: " Yea it doesn't look like theirs anything wrong with you so how can you be useless?" "I'm going by Dabi right now so that's what you can call me" he said smiling with a smirk reaching out a hand to Izuku " How bout we be friends?".

Toga: "Yay Yea lets be Dekkun" she starts screeching in excitement.

Izukus a little surprised by this no ones ever wanted to be friends with him.

Izuku:" You guys wouldn't wanna be friends with me sorry " with his eyes starting to fill with tears, Finally two people seemed to show interest in him and he knew it was just going go away when they found out the truth.

Dabi: " And whys that?" he asks while looking over to Toga who just shrugs and looks back at the green haired boy crying.

Izuku: "Because i don't have a quirk" he starts to shake going into one of his panic attacks as he braces for them to start laughing but to his surprise the taller boy sat down next to him and wrapped his arm around him.

"Why would that matter?" said Dabi and Toga in unison. Izuku looked up shocked hes never had anyone act this way towards him before.

Dabi: " You have a home Izuku?" looking down at the smaller boy arm still wrapped around him but now Izuku was holding onto it for what seemed like dear life

Izuku: "Not anymore" he said not wanting to go home and be a burden to his mother or the people around him anymore.

Toga and Dabi looked at each other and silently nodded knowing what to do.

Toga: " Dekkun come with us" she smiles at him "You can be apart of our family if you'd like"

Izuku: " What family" Izuku looked up shocked.

Dabi: "A family of misfit" dabi chuckled "People that everyone else has given up on" grabbing Izukus hand.

In that moment Izuku felt safe and wanted two things he hasn't felt like that in along time. He weakly smiled at the two other teens and says "Okay" and with that the three stood up and walked down the alley.

After around 15 minutes of walking they got to what looked like a door behind an abandoned building.

Toga puts a pass code into a little number pad next to the door after a few seconds it unlocks, I follow them threw the door into what looks like a bar

There was a purple mist guy in a nice suit standing behind the bar polishing a glass, and a light blue haired guy who looked around 18 sitting at the bar watching TV.

When they noticed us walk in the Mist guy looked at Toga and Dabi and with a Serious tone said "Where Have you two been its past 1am" "That's no time for two teenagers to be running around the city what if the hero's saw you two".

" Sorry Kirigiri" The two whined in unison " We didn't mean to worry you" Toga squeals.

"Lay off them Kirigiri" the light blue hair man chuckles " It looks like they made a friend" He looks over to Izuku " Hi My names Tomura Shigaraki whats yours" he smiles lightly and tilts his head.

Izuku: "m,m,my names Iz-Izuku" the green hair boys looks down stuttering wasn't out of the ordinary for him but he didn't wanna look stupid in front of these people they where all being so kind and welcoming.

Tomura: " Nice to meet you Izuku what brings you to our home tonight, or should I say this morning"

Dabi: "He doesn't have any where to go Tomura" he answers for his new friend griping his hand knowing that the shorter boy was having a tough time.

Toga: " Yea Shigi, Dekkun said he wants to be apart of our family" she says in a hyperactive tone jumping up and down.

Tomura: " Is that right?" looking at Izuku.

Izuku: The younger boy Nods his head yes, "But i don't have a quirk, I'll understand if your don't want me. No one ever has"

Hes never felt this way around people before, Around his mom he felt like he was just burdening her even though he never said or showed that but he knew, and all the kids at school just hated him and treated him like trash.

But these people they excepted him, They wanted him. He could tell by how everyone looked that none of them where biologically related but the bond they all had looked stronger than any Biological family he's ever seen.

Tomura: " What does having a quirk have to do with being family?" He looks confused.

Toga: " Shigi we already told him that" grabbing on to Izukus other hand.

Izuku starts to tear up he doesn't know what he's done to deserve this.

Tomura: " Don't cry everything's gonna be alright"

Kirigiri: " Welcome to the family Izuku you can look at me like an uncle" "I'm Kirigir"

Tomura: " And you can look at Me and Dabi like older brothers and Toga like a sister" "You don't have to feel alone anymore"

Izukus now fully crying but these arnt tears of sadness they are tears of joy hes never has felt so cared for before.

Tomura: " Would you like to go meet the man whos like our father?"

Izuku shakes his head yes and follows Tomura threw the bar and down a few hallways until they get to a Big oak door, Tomura knocks on the door and it swings open. A mans voices comes from the door " Come in you two", As we enter the door Tomura introduces me to the man inside and then leaves so the two can talk alone.

Izuku and the man sit there for a few minutes before the man asks for Izuku to tell him is life story, Izuku gladly tells him everything that has lead him hear all the pain the suffering the heart break everything. Hes never felt cared about before and this man wanted to know everything about him it felt like he had a father finally.

After he finished telling the man everything he was shocked when the man said "Would you like to have a quirk?, If that will make you happy my quirk will let me give you one" "But even if you don't want one you will still be allowed to be apart of this family we will still get you everything you want and need" after hearing that he didn't need a second to think.

Izuku: " Yes, please Dad give me a quirk".
