the way succession isn’t even subtle about Tom proposing to shiv when he thinks logan’s on his deathbed so he can get a foothold in the company but people are still like “uwu tom’s love for shiv is so pure, he’s princess diana she’s so mean to him”

The show is subtle but not that subtle. Guy wanted her as an incubator but oh no it’s uwu gay boy.

I wonder why shiv says yes the first time Tom proposes like. I don’t know their early relationship is so so interesting because it feels like at that point shiv doesn’t really have a whole lot of gain from Tom so is she saying yes because she actually really loves him? We know Tom is proposing especially while logan’s on his assumed deathbed is so that he can worm his way into the company by being a technical son, but at that point shiv had basically tried to separate herself from waystar so what motivation does she have to say yes to him? Maybe she likes having a covert fuckmuppet inside the company that she can boss around I guess. I mean we know her separation from waystar wasn’t totally genuine she obviously wants to be a part of it she just feels she can’t so maybe having Tom inside with a. Bigger role would benefit her but I dunno. Sometimes I think maybe that they actually can love each other
