Okay wow, Moon Knight is entirely blowing my expectations out of the water. The portrayal of DID is really good and makes it easy for the watcher to understand, and its only aided by Oscar Isaac's AMAZING acting. The CGI for Konshu is so good, and just the entire atmosphere is so enthralling, I just wanna know more about this whole situation. This very well may take the number 2 spot for my favorite marvel show (nothing can beat Loki, honestly)

holy hell, gamers, i finally reached one whole thousand followers! how bonkers is that! when i first made this blog in december 2018, i was just trying to start over in a new fandom. ive been active on tumblr for a looong time (since i was like 11, which is. not great, but we wont get into that). i cant remember quite why i decided to remake, but i never imagined getting a higher following than i did before, but i did! 1000 followers is bonkers, i’ve never had a thousand of anything! i seriously cant thank each and every one of you enough, whether you followed me for 911 or for mcyt or for whatever!

50 More Days of Comics! 42/50: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Pink #2 of 6 (2016)

So with a brief stopover in football, I’m back for the second issue of Power Rangers: Pink.

This is also a very cool cover.

Since this is a sequential issue, I’ll give a recap.

EVERYBODY HAS BEEN TURNED TO FISHES. DAMMIT GOLDAR!

In the face of everybody being turned to fishes and a monster what turns people to fishes and also Goldar, Kimberly chooses the better part of valor: running away.

She decides to hole up in her mom’s house where she runs into Serge, the guy from last time. And by runs into him I mean does him a flip because he snuck up behind her.

Kimberly tells him about the monster turning people into monsters and gets the idea to call in reinforcements. Also, she lets Serge think that the Pink Ranger is a friend of hers instead of her. Which isn’t exactly wrong since the current Pink Ranger is a friend of hers and also a cat.

Kimberly sends Serge to find the other survivors and tell them to stay hidden so they won’t be turned into fishes.

And when he’s gone, Kimberly contacts Zordon again and asks if it would be possible to use the Sword of Light to share her power with Jason, Trini, and Zack. The other OG Power Rangers that passed their role on.

Jason is busy on a mission of his own, apparently. Possibly in another book. But Trini and Zack are available.

So Zordon gets ready to teleport Kimberly to “Somewhere in South America.” Looks like Marvel isn’t the only one with vague handwaves to geography.

BUT: before she goes we see that Serge was eavesdropping at the door AND the boss fish had snuck up on him.

So Somewhere, South America, Kimberly was very pinpoint teleported because Trini hanglides into that exact spot like a second later. Zordon don’t fuck around.

The two do a big hug at seeing each other again and Kimberly explains the situation.

And yes, of course, Trini is also going to jump at the call to help out a friend and be a Ranger again briefly. So she takes Kimberly to Somewhere Village to get Zack.

By the by, the World Peace Conference must have gone exceedingly well because Trini now has a job in conservation and creating new sustainable green spaces and Zack is teaching the Somewherians martial arts, possibly hip hop kido.

He also gives Kimberly a huge hug when he sees her again. And also jumps at the chance to help a friend out and do some Rangering.

So they all teleport to St. Moineau, France and talk to Zordon’s big floating holographic head.

Also, he’s so proud of them. Aww.

Zack: “Zordon, I want to thank you. I’ve passed on so much knowledge, done so much good, thanks to you. We hope we’ve done you proud, even without our powers.”

Trini: “We try every day to make the world better than it was before, and we owe so much of that to our time as Power Rangers.”

Zordon: “Yes, Alpha 5 and I are well aware of the good work you are doing. We always knew you would go on to do great things.”

Aww.

Anyway, Kimberly uses the Sword of Light to divide her appropriate amount of Pink Energy between the three of them. As Zordon explains, while they won’t individually have the full power of a ranger since its just one power split three ways, they’ll have much greater harmony than ever before because it is one power.

Zack and Trini also get modified costumes. Less dramatic than Kimberly’s change but Zack gets a hoodie added to his costume. Sure. And they all get pink accents which makes good thematic sense.

And Powering Ranger still feels great apparently.

Zack: “Wow. What a power up.”

Trini: “Yeah, I forgot what this feels like. It’s not even full power and I feel amazing.”

And then with a final warning that he’s vulnerable lending out his power to them and to guard the Sword of Light well, Zordon hangs up.

And then they accidentally intercept an emergency call from White Ranger Tommy. He says that he’s separated from the team and that Rita and Zedd may have the upper hand. But as soon as he realizes Kimberly is on the other side of the call, it gets cut off somehow.

AND THEN THEY GET ATTACKED BY EVERYBODY IS FISHES! DAMMIT GOLDAR!

In or about the fracas, Kimberly drops the Sword of Light and Goldar picks it up and uses it to knock all three Rangers out. Dammit Goldar!

They seriously get captured only a few pages after becoming a team again.

They wake up in the cliff cave cage and Goldar reveals that he doesn’t actually need Kimberly’s help anymore because he used the Sword of Light to activate his new weapon.

Also Kimberly is still insisting that Rita is secretly behind this and Goldar is still like ‘nuh uh, i have ambition and ideas!’

Anyway, the new deadly terrifying weapon, a new war zord TYPHONIS!!

Which isn’t quite new so much as recycled! A Megazord made out of parts of the Thunderzords and Goldar’s broken Cyclopsis zord. Who would have thought Goldar would be into recycling?

AND THAT’S NOT ALL

Goldar reveals that his “new best friend, Serge” was the one who betrayed Kimberly and is going to help destroy the Rangers while the Serge himself stands sheepishly in the background.

And because issue 3 isn’t in the box, I’ll just assume that things are bad forever and they’re never getting out of that cage. What a downer ending, the Power Rangers Pink comic.
