A small chuckled escaped Tomo's lips as she cleaned out one of the glasses in the bar. She was surprised to get a call from one of her old high school friends about setting up a bar on a resort island. Not wanting to pass up the opportunity she immediately said yes and soon was sailed out to the island. At first she was a bit weirded out by the rules, having not been naked in front of anything besides a mirror, but she quickly adjusted. She had just opened up for the day when she heard the door open, the futa smiling as she leaned forward.

"Hey there, welcome to Stired and Creamed, how can I help you?"

"…T-Tomo…?"

The samurai freezes on his steps, the color on his cheeks that turns into that of chalk.

"It is another nightmare…? When I've fallen asleep?"

“…Kazuha?”

*The young man spins around, feeling breathless at the sight of the other man. He cannot be breathless, indeed— in fact, he hasn’t drawn a breath in a very long time.*

“Kazuha… is it really you?”

*Tomo draws closer to the samurai, steps so light he appears to almost float.*

“You… you’ve grown. Oh, archons… you’re just as pretty as I remember…”

*His likeness ripples softly with the wind as he approaches, long red robes blowing with the breeze almost as if he is still alive, still standing by his beloved friend.*

“I found you… I’ve finally found you. I-“ *Tomo blinks hard, tears starting to well up near the corners of his eyes.* “I’ve missed you so much, Kazuha…”

*He reaches out and tucks a strand of white hair behind Kazuha’s ear. The touch ghosts against the other man’s skin, but the gesture is tender nonetheless.*

“You don’t have to worry. This isn’t a dream.”

“I’m really here.”

Tomoe does a somewhat a vague semblance of a grimace as he presses back his outgrown long silver hair behind his ears. Sighing he mourns wistfully over master not coming home again today… sulking a little and feeling needy, missing handfuls of his longer hair being pulled and kissed by a warm hand.

His tails thumps a little without thinking, uncommon for the yokai due to his normal self preservation being not at top standard as usual.

Will anyone ever come to this shrine again? It would be much more fun than hear the other riff riffs play fighting again and again.

Is it ever too late to go back where one started?

There will always be those who dare to brave the lightning's glow.

I should have said more. I should have said something else. I would have, if I had known I would lose that duel. I should have told Kazuha... oh, Archons, I should have been able to tell him goodbye.

But I couldn't do such a thing. I knew that there was a strong possibility I would not make it out alive, but... I couldn't force myself to stay by his side any longer. The broken look, the unadulterated fear in his eyes... he was terrified for me, and seeing him upset cut me like a newly sharpened blade.

I was so foolish, throwing my life away, dedicated to becoming a renowned samurai. But I had Kazuha... I always had him by my side, and I let such a thing go to waste. I could have been happy...

I'm so, so sorry, Kazuha. I never made it to Celestia. My soul stays trapped between our realm and something much, much more... but I promise, I'll find you again. No matter how long it takes.
