Bobby isn’t a stranger to having a rebellious streak every once in a while. He has absolutely no issue going up against his parents with the purpose of defending you. If your upbringing or religion (or lack thereof) comes into discussion, he’s defending you as if the world will end if he doesn’t.

He’ll most likely resort to straight up lying about your religious status if it means saving you from his parent’s wrath.

He’s constantly making you laugh with his witty remarks. There’s been many moments where he’s made you laugh unintentionally but it makes him smile knowing he’s the one who’s made you giggle. It is one of his favorite sounds, after all.

Bobby worries much more than he’d like to about his brother, Jack, trying to make a move on you. He knows his brother, I mean he’s seen the way his brother deals with his urges. He also knows full well that the fact Jack is married won’t stop him from indulging in his desires. As Evan Thomas said: “He needed to indulge this phenomenal and really unseemly sex drive. It was for rich girls, poor girls, old girls, young girls, all girls all the time.”

Bobby puts up a somewhat hard exterior in public because that is what’s necessary when pursuing a career in politics. However, he’s sickeningly sweet when it comes to you. He cannot contain his love for you even when the two of you are in front of dozens of cameras.

There are dozens upon dozens of photos of the two of you looking at each other like lovesick puppies.

Bobby rarely ever gets angry with you. For the simple fact that he’s considered the ‘softer’ one of the brothers, I believe he’d do an incredible job at comforting you. He’s a sturdy shoulder for you to lean on and he takes great pride in being so. He’d hate for you to feel as if you need to hide your feelings, negative or positive.

He is sososo gentle with you in general but especially when you’re crying and in need of comfort. He’ll hold you within his arms that give the illusion of a warm blanket, and kiss your hair.

This man is constantly taking photographs of you 🙄. There’s no use in attempting to hide behind your hands because he’ll just take a photo of that, too. Has a habit of writing the cutest of things on these photographs.

can get a bit insecure when it comes to certain aspects of his political abilities, but you’re always there to reassure him. He leans into your touch and his face is painted with a shy smile as a result of your praise.

“The people adore you, Bobby. They love you. Not as much as me, of course, but you’re the number one candidate in their hearts. Okay?”

Never fails to thank you in his speeches.

Calls you sweet girl, baby, sweetheart, honey. All of those little nicknames fall off his tongue oh so sweetly.

spoils you endlessly. He’s amazing when it comes to gift giving and uses that to his advantage. He remembers every little thing about you and it truly shines through in not just his gift giving, but also in every aspect of your relationship.

It’s quite a lot to get used to as you’re not used to being surrounded with such obvious symbols of wealth. Don’t even bother trying to stop him from spending his very well earned money on you. He’s simply going to press a lingering kiss to your lips before saying, “let me take care of my girl.”

He’s painfully devoted to you. The two of you got married very early on in your relationship. He didn’t see the point in waiting.

Sharing beautiful evenings with him by the sea in Hyannis Port. Films you lying underneath the sun shade, draped in the bathing suit he purchased for you. He swears, there’s nowhere he’d rather be than right there with you.

summary: part two of bridget’s sister!

type: fluff, then angst, then fluff

“Oh my goodness, you guys kissed?” Bridget squealed, pulling you over to her bed to sit down. “How was it? Who kissed who? If he hurts you, I swear to-”

“B!” you interrupted her, “It was very nice, I kissed him, and we, uh, we actually have a date later tonight.” Bridget’s eyes widened as a smile blossomed on her face. She grabbed your hands, squeezing them tight. “I am so happy for you! What’re you guys doing? Is it, like, a date date?”

“We’re having a movie night in my room. But, I do need your help. I know neither of us have a lot of experience in the dating category, but I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing.” You got up, starting to pace the room. “I know what you’re going to say, that if he doesn’t like me for me then it’s not worth it. But, I don’t know how to do any of this dating stuff at all, and we’re technically not even together yet because he never really even asked me.”

Bridget got up, grabbing onto your shoulders. “First things first, stop talking. Secondly, I have been waiting to plan a date for you since the day you were born. Now, he seems like an action movie kind of person, but I suggest a comedy. Everyone likes comedy. Don’t be nervous, you’re going to have the best time.”

“I wish it was that easy to not be nervous, Bridg. He’s such a natural flirt, I cannot compete.” Bridget nodded, letting go of your shoulders. “Just do what feels comfortable. Put your head on his shoulder, get close to him. But, just remember, you don’t have to do anything that you don’t want to do.”

Bridget went over to her tray of freshly baked cookies, putting a few into a plastic bag and handing them off to you. “You’re going to have a great time tonight. Now, take these and go get ready. I’ll see you tomorrow, buttercup.”

“If this doesn’t go well I’m throwing myself into the Enchanted Lake.”

“Goodnight, buttercup.” Bridget gently pushed you out of the room, shutting the door behind you. You groaned, taking a deep breath before making your way to your room.

You finished lighting the last candle before setting your matchbox down and looking around the room. It was perfect, thanks to a little help from Bridget. You had candles, comfy blankets, freshly baked cookies. Perfect for a date. You smoothed out your outfit, a simple Merlin Academy hoodie and sweatpants, and waited anxiously. Your palms felt like the ocean was living on them.

When there was a knock at the door, you took a deep breath. Okay, this is it. You opened the door. “Hey, James. I, uh, just finish setting up. Come in!” Hook walked in, taking a glance around the room. But you were looking at him. He was wearing a red hoodie, he clearly had a favorite color, and pajama pants. His hair was messy and he looked absolutely gorgeous. He noticed you staring and went over to you, his arms snaking around your waist. “I know I’m incredibly handsome, but you don’t have to keep staring.” he teased.

“I was doing nothing of the sort.” You shrugged, trying to pretend like your face wasn’t beet red. Hook smirked, leaning down and pressing a kiss to your lips. Your arms wrapped around his neck, absolutely just melting into his touch. He pulled away after a few seconds. “It looks nice in here. Did you pick out a movie?”

“Oh! Um, give me one second!” You pulled away from him, going over to your shelf where your TV sat. You picked up the movie case, showing it to him. “It’s a comedy, I heard good things about it. But, if you wanna watch something else, we can look for another movie! I really don’t mind!”

“Easy there, lass. It’s perfect. Pop it in and come join me.” Hook slipped his boots off before sitting down on your bed, making himself comfortable. After putting the movie in and pressing play, you crawled onto your bed, sitting down next to him. He wrapped his arm around you. “There we go, darling. Nice and comfy.”

You scooted closer to him, hesitating before leaning your head against his shoulder. “Is this okay? I have no clue what I’m doing.” you mumbled, looking up at him. Hook broke out into giggles. “Darling, it’s okay! You’re getting yourself worked up. Here, come here.” He snaked his other arm under your legs, moving you so you were sat in his lap. You laid your head on his chest, your nerves calming as you listened to his heartbeat. You didn’t think someone so cruel could be so sweet.

As the movie went on, the two of you got more and more comfortable with each other. In fact, you weren’t really paying attention to the movie much at all. You were more so paying attention to him; his perfect smile, the way his fingers toyed with the hem of your sweatshirt, his infectious laugh. Hook looked down at you, a grin breaking out on his face. “Do I have something on my face? You’re staring an awful lot.”

“Just… enjoying the view.” you replied. “I’m sorry for doubting you, by the way. There is more to you under that hard exterior. In fact, I think you might be a little bit of a softie.” Hook cupped your cheek, his face mere centimeters away from yours. “That’s for you, and for you only.”

“I thought we were watching a movie, pirate boy.”

“Movie schmovie.” He closed the gap between the two of you, his hand cradling your face like you were a priceless art piece he was terrified of breaking. You welcomed his embrace, his lips moving against yours with such tenderness. It felt like butterflies were erupting in your stomach and like your cheeks were on fire. Hook pulled his lips away after what seemed like hours, but was only minutes in reality. Though, you kind of wished for the former.

With every second the two of you spent together, you felt yourself getting more and more comfortable with him. It was hard for you to let your walls down around others, but he just made it so easy. Surprisingly. It was still shocking that the arrogant pirate who threatened to make everyone who looked at him wrong walk the plank, could be so caring towards someone.

As the movie reached it’s end, the two of you got up to say your goodbyes. There was still a curfew, after all. Hook wrapped his arms around you, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “I’ll see you tomorrow, yeah? Don’t miss my beautifulness too much.” he teased, earning a shove from you. “Yeah, yeah. I’ll see you tomorrow, James.”

He blew you a final kiss before making his way out of your room, shutting the door behind himself. Once the door was shut you started jumping up and down, squealing to yourself. You couldn’t even help it, he was such a charmer.

The next day quickly approached and you were sat in the courtyard with Bridget and Ella. They were talking about their classes for the day while you were sat beside Ella, doodling in your notebook. Ella noticed and glanced over. “James Hook. James plus y/n. James Hook with a heart.” Ella read off what you were writing and you quickly scooted away, hiding your notebook against your chest. “I assume things are going well?” Bridget asked. “Has he asked you out yet?”

You blushed, realizing that he hadn’t even really asked you out yet. “Well, no. But, we’re hanging out tomorrow night, so maybe he’ll do it then.” Ella raised a brow. “Maybe? If he doesn’t do it soon, then maybe you need to ask him. Do the rest of the VK’s y’know… know?”

“Um, I’m not really sure.” you mumbled. You know that the rest of the VKs would be absolutely furious to hear about you and Hook. The princesses of Wonderland are the types of people that the VKs despise, even if they don’t have an exact reason for it. “I don’t really want to be a secret, but I can’t say that I want anything to do with Uliana either.”

The bell started to ring and you got up, shoving your notebook into your bag. “I have Beginners Enchanting, I’ve gotta get going. I’ll be by later, B.” Bridget got up, pulling you into a hug. “We’ll see you. Let us know if he asks you!” You rolled your eyes playfully. “Alright, mom. I’ll see you later.”

You put your bag over your shoulder and walked off, making your way to your next class. On the way there, unbeknownst to you, you had walked right by the VKs. Hook grinned as he saw you walk past, his eyes filled with adoration. Uliana quickly noticed, shooting him an evil glare. “I don’t know what you see in her, Hook. Just look at her, such a prissy pink princess. What’s your plan?”

“You’d feel differently if you got to know her.” he replied. “She’s different. I really like her.” Uliana scoffed, rolling her eyes. “You say that about every girl you can get your hands on. Come on, let me have a little fun with her, it wouldn’t hurt.” Hook immediately shook his head. “Nope. Absolutely not, she is off limits.”

Uliana had a shocked look on her face, like someone told her that her pet eel had died. “Off limits? Listen here, pirate wannabe. You don’t get to tell me who is off limits. You know what? Maybe I’ll pay her a little visit later, say congrats on the boyfriend. Or are you just gonna string her along like you do the rest?”

“It’s not like that, Uli. I am going to ask her out, not that it’s any of your business. Leave her alone, I’m serious. C’mon, Morgie, let’s go.” Hook gestured for the boy to follow him and he happily agreed, trailing behind the pirate. Uliana turned to Maleficent and Hades, a sinister smirk on her face. “Be a dear, Mali, and distract him tonight? I have some business to take care of.”

You were on your way back from your final class of the day when you were stopped in your tracks as you were passing through the courtyard. Uliana was stood in front of you, that same sinister smirk on her face. “Hey, girl! Funny seeing you here! What’re the chances?” she said, walking towards you. You took a step back, feeling uneasy. “Oh, what? You think I’m gonna hurt you? No, no. I just wanted to say congrats, No one ever thought you would get a boyfriend, especially someone like Hook. Don’t worry, you can trust me.”

“I trust you as far as I can throw you, Uliana.” you mumbled, taking another step back. She sneered, getting in your face. “Don’t be so shy, princess. But, don’t get too comfortable, you know how he is with girls.” Uliana took on a caring tone, but you could tell she didn’t care for you one bit. “He tells them that he cares, uses them for whatever he wants, and then goes on to the next one. But, y’know… boys, right? So, my advice to you?” She got closer to you, the backs of your legs hitting the fountain. “Stay away from Hook, or you’re going to regret it. He doesn’t like girls like you. No, he likes them a little more… like me.”

“You don’t know what you’re talking about, squid face.” You felt a rush of confidence go through you. She scared you, but not that much. “Feeling jealous, Uli? I know how you get when all of his attention isn’t on you for once.” She scowled, her hands reaching up to grip your shoulders. “You stay away from him, or it’s gonna really suck for the both of you.”

Her hands gripped your shoulders tighter as she pushed you right back into the fountain, the cold water enveloping you. You flailed around before your hands found the bottom of the fountain, pushing yourself up. Huffing, you looked around for Uliana. She was nowhere to be found.

This isn’t gonna be good, you thought.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Your alarm clock went off and you reached over, hitting the top of it to turn it off. You were already awake, in fact, you had never gone to sleep. Uliana’s words rung through your head the entire night, rendering you sleepless. She didn’t scare you, or at least you thought that she didn’t. After you had to walk the rest of the way home in soaking wet clothes, it made you realize that maybe she wasn’t messing around. There’s no way that Hook would let her actually do anything to you… right?

You got up to get ready for the day, feeling a sense of dread. For once, you weren’t excited to go to class, or to see James. Not because of him, but because of Uliana. She ruined everything. She had you doubting the person who worked so hard to gain your trust.

Grabbing your backpack, you made your way out of your room, praying that you didn’t happen to run into Hook. “Hey, Buttercup.” A voice called out, almost making you jump ten feet into the air. You turned around, seeing Bridget standing there.

“She knows, B.” you mumbled, feeling yourself slowly slip into a state of panic. Bridget instantly realized and wrapped an arm around you, bringing you into her room. “How did she find out?” she asked. You threw your bag to the floor, your chest heaving up and down. “I don’t know! B-But she found me last night when I was coming home and, um, she pushed me into the fountain and she told me to stay away from him. That he was just using me!”

Bridget frowned. “Okay, okay. Big breaths for me.” She held onto you, taking deep breaths with you as she tried to calm you down. You took shaky breaths, tears threatening to spill. “I don’t know what to do, Bridget..” She say you down, pulling you close so that your head was on her chest. “Don’t let Uli get to you. She’s mean, and she wants you to feel this way. Don’t give her the satisfaction. I think you should talk to James.”

“I don’t want her to hurt him, I don’t want to lose him.” you whispered, desperation in your voice. She rubbed your arm. “You won’t lose him. Please go talk to him, buttercup. I’ll even go with you, if you’d like.”

You sighed, curling up in her arms. “I’ve got this. This is, uh, this is my fight. Unfortunately.” Bridget just nodded, holding you until you felt ready to go. After a few minutes you got up, silently grabbing your bag off of the floor. “Are you sure you wanna go to class today? I’ll let you stay here, I’ll even tell your professors that you’re sick.”

“I’m okay. Thank you, B. I love you.” You blew her a kiss before leaving her room, shutting the door behind yourself.

Hook spotted you making your way to your first class of the day and made his way over to you. “Hey, darling!” He wrapped his arms around your waist, twirling you around. You leaned into his touch, a pained look on your face. “Hi, James…”

He frowned, his brows furrowing as he tried to read your expression. “What’s wrong?”

“I, um…” you gulped, trying to build up the courage to say what you were about to say. “I don’t think we should see each other anymore, James.” His face dropped. If it weren’t so noisy with other students passing by, you could probably hear the sound of his heart shattering. “I’m sorry, what?”

You frantically looked around, making sure none of the other VKs were around. “I’m sorry. I really like you, but I can’t risk losing you completely. Ul- She knows. She knows about us, and she’s not happy.”

“What did she tell you, y/n? Whatever she said, it’s not true.” He cupped your cheek. “What’s not true? She told me all about how you are with girls. Boys, right?” you grumbled, avoiding his gaze. He huffed, feeling anger bubbling in his chest. “Darling… Yes, that is true. But, I don’t want that with you.” He hooked your chin, forcing you to look up at him. “I’ve done some things that I’m not particularly the proudest of, but being with you isn’t one of them. Whatever Uli said doesn’t matter, because I’m telling you right now that I really like you. I do, and I want this to be more than just a fling.”

“But, Uliana…”

“I don’t care!” he exclaimed, “I don’t care about how she feels about us. I care about how you feel about us, though. If this isn’t something you want, then that’s fine. But, I’m not going to stop fighting for us.” There was a beat of silence before you pulled him close, kissing him passionately. He held your waist, his hand playing with the fabric of your shirt.

You pulled away, giggling to yourself when you saw your lipstick smeared on his lips. You took your thumb, gently wiping it off. He took your hand in his, bringing your knuckles to his lips and giving them a gentle kiss. “I will do whatever it takes to make sure you never have to worry about Uli again. I, uh, was going to ask you this when I saw you tonight, but I just need to ask you right now.” He let go of your hand, his arms wrapping around you once more.

“Will you be my girlfriend, darling?”

You pressed a kiss to his cheek, leaving a little mark. “It would be silly of me to say no. Yes, of course I will.”

“YOU!”

Olympics

Here is the fic based on the Olympics, I have been loving it so much this year so of course we have a fic. Hope you enjoy, please reblog and let me know what you think. Trent Alexander Arnold Word Count: 1,015 Paris 2024 Olympics was finally here, heading to the Olympics was an absolute dream for you. You made your way to Paris with the rest of the athletics girls, the nerves had really hit you that you were going to participate in your first ever Olympics.

"Good luck angel, missing you already xxx" you smiled as you read the text from Trent. "OOh has lover boy messaged you already? We have barely left London" they all laughed as you felt as if your whole body was going hot with embarrassment because it was true. "Hmm maybe" you smirked as you slipped your phone back into your bag and looked out of the window. - You arrived at the Olympic village and you just couldn't wait to get there. As the athletics were at the end of the tournament, you had a lot of waiting. "This is our room" you smiled as you wheeled your suitcase in and headed straight into the small apartment that you were sharing with one of your team mates. "This is a cute room, I am so tired already" she yawned on cue as you sorted your suitcase out before you headed to the food hall to explore. - Everyday you had been training and making sure you were fit enough for your event. "Let's go" the girls shouted as you rolled out of bed as you were going down to get some breakfast in the hall. "I am so hungry but that looks gross" you laughed as you had a look at the food, not really anything jumped out at you. "It really does ew, it really does look as shit as people make out. Come on let's just grab a quick something and we can head off as fast as we can. We need to start jumping" she laughs as you quickly grabbed something. The first day of your event, you were nervous. It was pretty early as you made your way to the stadium. Your main event was tomorrow night, hopefully you would have made it to the semis by then. You grabbed your bag as you climbed out of the bus and walked into the huge stadium. Taking a breath as you were in complete awe of it, never having watched football here before you knew you had to come back here to watch a game. - Being in the stadium with a crowd was surreal for the first time, it felt just so real. You were second in the qualifying and had jumped the long jump your personal best which was so incredible and you ran to your coach as you qualified for the final in first place. "How are you feeling after finishing 1st in qualifying?" the interviewer asked you just after you had finished competing. "I am really happy, I have worked so hard to get here and my training has been just so amazing." you smiled. "You jumped your personal best, you must be so happy with that?" she asked as you nodded. "Yes I am so happy, I have hit that in training but I haven't fully been able to do it any other time. I am in the best shape that I have been in for ages" you grinned. "Wishing you the best of luck" you nodded as you left the interview. "y/n you were amazing. I cannot wait to see you later" you felt your team mate hug you as you held her. "Thank you" you grinned as you sipped on your water before heading back to the apartment room to try and cool down before your next event later on. - "Oh my god" you mumbled as you saw how big the crowd was as you made your way around the stadium. It was really humid and you were starting to feel the nerves now where as you weren't really before. You were up last as you qualified last, so there was a long wait but you managed to keep yourself composed as you watched your rivals jump. Taking a deep breath as you got ready for your run, you were ready. You ran and took your jump, as soon as you jumped you looked straight at the sand. "OH MY GOD" you screamed as you watched as the world record showed up. "Oh my y/n" you ran to the other participants as you were just so happy and knew everyone was supporting you. The next few jumps were at around the same length, which you were just so excited and as the last person was jumping they had a fail. "You've done it" they all shouted as they celebrated with you. "I did it" you whispered as you hugged them all before going to celebrate with your family. "What the fu- you doing here?" you asked Trent as you saw him standing in the stand with the biggest grin

"Of course I wouldn't miss you winning a fucking gold medal baby" you stood on the ledge as you cuddled him so tightly as you felt t he tear running down your face.

"I did it." you whispered again against his chest.

"I am so fucking proud of you, we all just fucking witnessed you winning a GOLD medal in your first ever Olympics. You never ever fail to amuse me baby" you felt your whole body go hot with his words, he had such a way with words.

You wrapped your self in the flag that was handed down to you as you now had to go and ring the bell to celebrate your winning moment.

"y/n you have won the first gold medal in a very long time for long jumping? how do you feel?" the interviewer asked you.

"Honestly I cannot believe that I did this, I am in complete shock if i'm honest. it is an absolute dream and I think I'll be dreaming for a while if I'm totally honest" you laughed.

"Congratulations y/n" he smiled.

"Thank you so much and thank you everyone who supported me" you waved as you left the interview.

- One of the reasons his house is fucking barren of food is because he cannot fucking stand being anywhere near a grocery store. He is an unmedicated paranoid reclusive man, putting him in a bright loud exposed place full of strangers is a surefire way to cause an absolutely incredible crashout. Once got escorted out of a Kroger because he was already on his last straw and someone's kid wouldn't stop crying and an employee watched him pull his sidearm out of his pants (he wasn't gonna shoot anyone. Yet. I felt like messing with his gun is a self-soothing thing he does a lot). Last time he went to the store he got like three things and then had to go stand in the alley out back tensing every muscle in his body to decompress because holy hell looking over your shoulder every two seconds convinced one of these mfs is gonna try something sure shoots your entire nervous system. When he runs low on food he will ration it as much as possible to put off having to get more food. He would rather not eat then have to go shopping.

- Used to have a few hobbies he was damn good at. I like to think he used to play trumpet. Maybe some cello, he seems like an orchestral instrument kinda guy. Has not played or practiced in years. It draws attention, wanting to ditch previous aspects of himself, and also because eof general lethargy / apatheticness to doing shit that previously made him happy. If he tried to pick back up trumpet now he'd fumble playing it bc he's been so out-of-practice and would take that as a sign to stop trying.

- Projects my OCD-caused paranoid delusions onto him. He has to complete rituals daily and nightly to affirm that he is safe. Check the locks. Do a patrol round. Check the locks again. Check the hall because it feels like something moved back there. Undo all the locks and open the door and then quickly slam it because you can't let anything in. Redo the locks. Check the house again. Check to make sure your reflection is following you. Check again. Check again. Check again.

- Sometimes experiences absolute peak paranoid delusion where you're terrified that something is wrong and someone is coming to get you and youre in fight-or-flight but you're also too terrified to move or do barely anything. Pressed into the corner under the bed, white-knuckling his gun, hyperventilating. Scanning the room over and over, convinced the moment he takes his eyes off of one corner somebody will be waiting in the other corner. Teeth gritted so tight his jaw will ache for the next day or two. Feeling like an animal in a trap. He hasn't quite noticed it yet but he's crying, a body's good ol automatic terror response. He'll feel awfully disgusted with himself tomorrow morning. He'd rather die than tell anyone about such a pathetic moment. He'd never willingly get help because he'd never willingly admit he has any sort of issue at all. But he does. And tonight, it's all he can think about.

- Has a love of sour stuff. Will happily eat lemon by itself (me fr). Rarely indulges himself in treats (or food. In general lol) but he definitely has a fondness for sour candies. Specifically the obnoxiously-sour ones, the ones that completely fuck up your mouth. He also gets a bit of kick out of offering them to people and watching in real time as they realize this is some Advanced Sour shit.

- Decent at baking, but not great at cooking. Has not improved his skills because he A) does not buy enough shit to try and B) gets pissed every time he makes a mistake. Believes you're either good at it or you're not, and he's not, so why bother? Basically all the food he gets is either readymade (like non-perishable dry goods, canned soup or frozen meals) easy assembly goods like sandwich fixings, or cheap off-brand snacks and cereals. Doesn't buy produce because he's shit at making himself eat and then it spoils. One of the reasons he's so lethargic and pissy is because he eats very little and what he does eat doesn't have nearly enough nutrition or calories. Core part of potential Ignacio healing process is fattening him up.

Ignacio is such a pathetic little mess im obsessed with him fucking up his mouth with lemons as if his teeth arent a crooked yellow mess and hes at risk for dentures. hes too afraid of the dentist tho cause what if they strap him down and waterboard him. same guy whos too afraid of getting a haircut cause what if the salon is full of fbi agents who want to use his hair samples for microchips. godspeed my paranoid gun lover

Established by Sauber after his breathtaking 2017 campaign, Charles Leclerc is excited to finally be able to start his first season at the wheel of a Formula 1 car.

His 2017 season was close to perfection. By conquering with disconcerting superiority seven victories, eight pole positions, ten podiums and four fastest laps last year in the antechamber of Formula 1, Charles Leclerc not only positioned himself as one of the greatest hopes of tomorrow, but above all won his ticket to the premier category of motorsport. Recruited by Sauber as part of the partnership between the Swiss team and Alfa Romeo, the figurehead of the Ferrari Driver Academy will have the difficult task of meeting the immense expectations generated by his consecutive double crowning in GP3 and Formula 2. But while waiting to finally be able to demonstrate the full extent of his talent aboard an F1 car, the Monegasque took advantage of these long weeks of break to perfect his physical condition and begin his process of discovering the Hinwil facilities. Delighted to be able to collaborate again with his former boss at ART GP Frédéric Vasseur, the Sauber driver is resolutely confident before tackling his first season at the highest level. Aware of the difficulties that await him, Nicolas Todt's protégé nevertheless wants to be ambitious. Convinced of being able to put his best foot forward if he remains focused on his own work, Leclerc intends to confirm in 2018 all the good things that the paddock thinks of him.

The Formula 1 world championship will resume on March 25 at Albert Park in Australia. How do you feel a little over a month before your big debut in the premier category?

Very good. I've dreamed of it since I was little! To think that I am going to start my first season in Formula 1 is just incredible. But I must not forget to concentrate on the work I will have to do in F1. 2018 will be a pivotal year in my career. So I'm actively preparing physically to be ready the day I get into the new car.

The winter break is generally a rather difficult period for a pilot, because it consists almost exclusively of heavy and intensive physical preparation. How do you manage to fill the lack of management?

It is extremely difficult, if not almost impossible, for a pilot to make up for the lack of running. Of course it has absolutely nothing to do with F1, but I'm still going to try to go and drive a kart a little these days just to get some sensations and have fun. I spend the majority of my time perfecting my physical condition so that I can be in good shape for the first tests in Barcelona. The desire to drive a single-seater, unfortunately, cannot be satisfied for a large part of the winter. Afterwards, everyone is in the same boat. You just have to accept it and prepare as best as possible for the winter tests.

Starting out in Formula 1 is always a crucial step in a driver's life. In addition to arriving in a completely different world from the one you have encountered in the past in promotional formulas, are you aware of reaching the biggest milestone in your career in motorsport?

Completely. F1 is nothing like the minor categories. Going from karting to single-seaters is already a big step. Moving up to Formula 1 undoubtedly represents the second biggest step in a driver's life. The engines were all identical within the promotion formulas I went through. So the goal came down to doing the best job possible in the car. If we met this condition, we knew full well that the results would follow.

In F1, on the other hand, the driver is much more dependent on the performance of his machine...

Yes. It's not quite the same thing in F1, because there is a lot of difference in performance between the cars. The procedures to follow are also much more numerous than in the small categories. F1 is really a big step to take, but above all I have to concentrate on the work I will have to do in the single-seater in order to bring the best possible result home. I will also focus on developing the car as quickly and efficiently as possible throughout the season.

For the first time since you started karting, you will approach a season knowing that you will not have the means to win on a regular basis. How do we mentally prepare ourselves to settle for runners-up when, like you, we have collected titles in the lower categories?

Above all, I will seek to deliver the best possible work in the car. The end result won't matter in the end. The most important thing for me will be to stay focused on my job while trying to make the car progress as quickly as possible. F1 is undoubtedly a completely different world to what I have experienced in the past. So I'm definitely going to have to go through a little period of adaptation. But to be able to do effective work in the premier category, the key will be to concentrate on what I have to do and only on that.

Marcus has a lot of experience in F1. So I'm already going to try to learn alongside him. However, as I mentioned previously, my main goal is to produce the best job possible while remaining focused solely on myself. This is something I learned from my previous seasons in single-seaters. If I focus on my work and do it well, then I should be able to demonstrate what I'm worth. I prefer not to distract myself by looking at others. I just make sure I give my best. We will then see what results I will be able to obtain this season.

In addition to its recurring financial problems, the Swiss team has also suffered greatly on a sporting level since three times out of four it finished the championship in tenth place. Did these chronic difficulties scare you when joining the Swiss team?

No, on the contrary I am very confident. With “Fred” (Vasseur) at the helm, the team is truly in good hands. I know him very well and I love the way he works. A team manager must work in this way to help the team progress. We should also not neglect the impact of the return of Alfa Romeo. So yes, until we put the car on the ground, it will be difficult to predict anything. Our main mission will be to develop the car as quickly as possible throughout the year.

Undead Unluck Week 2024

Day 5 - Favorite Arc: Intro Arc

This is without question the hardest prompt this whole week for me. I don't even have any arcs that I dislike, and you want me to pick the one that I like the most???

How am I supposed to choose between Andy and Fuuko beating Victor by learning that they can reinterpret their Rules in the Autumn Arc, the Union clashing with Under in classic shonen battle manga fashion in the Spring Arc, every Negator banding together to see Fuuko safely to the next world in the Ragnarok Arc, and Feng learning that he's a simp for Fuuko in the Hong Kong Arc??? This is a cruel question that makes me second-guess every decision I could possibly make for it!

However, after much deliberation, I realized that for me, there's only one answer that I could definitively be satisfied with, and one that I think deserves a lot more love than it gets: the introduction

When I say the introduction, I don't just mean the first couple of chapters in Shinjuku, I mean everything leading up to Andy and Fuuko officially becoming seated members of the Union. From their meeting in chapter 1 right up until Juiz challenges Fuuko to work her way up the ranks to become the First Seat of the Roundtable, I consider that entire span to be the first major arc

This is because this is the prologue to Fuuko's development and every single plot beat to follow; from believing herself to be unworthy of living, to realizing that life is worth living, to resolving to make life better for others, the journey of Fuuko's life begins here. Unlearning the lie she believes, learning the truth that she needs to understand, to gaining the confidence to spread that truth, none of that happens without first meeting Andy, then Gina, then Juiz

I really hate to sound like a hipster, but whereas other people had a tough time getting into UU when it started because they felt chapter 1 was too rough, I mean no exaggeration when I say that I fell in love with it instantly. It really did feel like I was the only one who knew it was going to be great all along, and while I'm ecstatic to see that I was right, there's a little bit of a bitter taste mixed in there considering that to this day I see people dismissing its origin

Both fans and haters alike talk about the introduction as if it's this arduous hurdle, something so unlike what comes later that they wish it weren't even there, but to me (and I hope more people reading this than I'm giving credit for), that "rough patch" is an absolute necessity. It is simply unskippable! To appreciate how far Fuuko and Andy come over the course of the narrative, you need to understand where they started, not just as individuals, but as a couple! Everything that Undead Unluck is, was, or will be can be summed up from the events of chapter 1, and the immediately following chapters set up the dynamic of the entire story to come

Without that arc, if somehow Tozuka had skipped straight to Spoil and started in media res, I don't know how attached I would have been to the story. But that's not what happened; instead, I turned every page with wrapt attention, engaged with every single panel, desperate to know what was coming next. And four years later, that feeling has not faded

Every Saturday night I go to bed like it's Christmas Eve; "Undead Unluck tomorrow!" I wake up, roll over, grab my tablet and just start reading the moment it gets uploaded. Everything else in Jump I read in chronological order, but UU? That cannot wait! I need to know what happens ASAP!

All of that excitement, all of that joy, all of that love was inspired by chapter 1 and reinforced by the arc that followed. Other arcs reached incredible highs that I never could have seen coming back then, and nearly all of them are much more refined by nature of Tozuka's growing experience, but the sheer wonder that I could feel being sparked in me from the very beginning? The feeling of the fire continuing to burn is completely different from the feeling of its ignition, no matter how much more brightly it shines

Perhaps future arcs will find a way to overturn this opinion; maybe the final arc will be so spectacular and such a perfect culmination of everything that came before that I can't imagine the story ending any other way, but for now, the beginning that so readily convinced me to follow this series and allowed me to feel so spectacular for so long has to be the one that I consider my favorite

Do not debatebro me on pedophilia lmfao Nobody said anything about dating, we're talking sexual stuff. 18 is the absolute bare minimum for participation. If you're waiting for someone to turn 18 to do stuff with them legally, that is still pedophilia, you were attracted to and wanted to have sex with a minor and then took the earliest opportunity you thought it'd be acceptable to act on it. That's not different. It *is* however different if you meet/see someone for the first time and they are already 18. If you're actively seeking out people who turned 18 *that day* you're still a freak! This is not the gotcha apologists seem to believe it is. It makes perfect sense, seeking out minors is fucked up and abusive, even if you technically sit and wait until they're not anymore. That's the same thing. Since I take it from your phrasing that you are a minor, I'll break this down into an example. If someone just turned 18 and they dm me here, we met as adults, no harm no foul. If I seek out profiles that just turned 18, or if I find a minor's blog and wait until their birthday to DM them, that's pedophilic and abusive, inherently. There is an inherent power dynamic with the age difference, one that an adult may be able to consider for themselves and decide whether or not they want to engage in in a way that children simply, literally, objectively cannot. Pedophiles and some unfortunately painfully misguided minors use this argument, your "what's the difference between 24 hours on the wrong side of a birthday", argument to try to say that there's no meaningful distinction between a year's time, but the argument makes no fucking sense. Think about it for 2 seconds. It only exists as an argument in the incredibly niche hypothetical of choosing someone the day before or the day after their 18th birthday, and even then it only further highlights the problem with the entire exercise. You're trying to say "well if it'd be okay to interact the day after my birthday, why couldn't I the day before?" but it isn't the day before your 18th birthday, is it the week before. You're trying to equivocate the idea of the acceptability of someone who *just* turned 18 to the forbiddance of someone who is *just* about to turn 18, but you're only highlighting how inappropriate it would be to go even just a day on the other side.

Barely 18 year olds aren't full adults yet, obviously, and that's why adults treat them differently from other adults. That's where the phrase "young adult" comes from. That's why most YA novel protags end up as legal drinking age by the end of their stories. Saying "I almost am almost this hypothetical that itself is almost the absolute bare minimum for acceptability" is not the crack defense you seem to believe. Pushing the point is only going to make it more likely for me to raise the DNI to 20 just to prove mine

‘Take five, go get a drink and then we’ll try again,’ you director called out across the rehearsal room. Trying to dampen down your giggles, you quickly rushed across the room to grab your water bottle from your bag. You and your best friend, Aaron Tveit, had been cast as the new Sweeney Todd and Mrs Lovett on Broadway, and whilst it was incredible being able to work with your best friend, it also caused a lot of distractions.

You’d been trying to rehearse the By the Sea number for about two hours now and you still hadn’t gotten past the first few lines. You knew the song like the back of your hand and you knew that you could sing it, but trying to keep a straight face when you turned to face Aaron for the first time in the number was proving to be an impossible task.

Whilst the song was happy for your character, Aaron had to keep a straight face for the entire number, something that he was surprisingly really good at. However, every time you turned to face him, you couldn’t help but erupt into giggles when you saw him.

‘You know you’re an actress, you should be able to just switch it off you know,’ Aaron said teasingly as he came up behind you to get his own water bottle.

‘Well, I’m sorry if my scene partner just has one of those faces you can’t help but laugh at,’ you replied sarcastically, grinning as you spun around to face him. ‘I don’t get it! I’ve been fine in every other scene that we’ve rehearsed so far but there’s something about this song that I can’t help but laugh!’

‘Maybe it’s because you’re just so excited to finally be in a show with your best friend,’ he said, grinning widely at you.

‘No, I don’t think that’s it, because at the moment, I think I might kill him before opening night.’

‘I think you’ll find I’m the one with the knife in this show.’

The two of you burst into fits of laughter again as you put your water bottles back and made your way back over to the “stage”, getting back in your positions, ready to start the number from the top as soon as everyone else was ready. ‘This time, we’re going to get through it, okay? There’s going to be no laughing, nothing, it’s going to be a perfect run of the song, you hear me?’ you said abruptly, turning to Aaron, determination written clearly on your features.

‘Yes, ma’am,’ he replied, mock saluting you, amusement colouring his tone as he spoke.

‘Right,’ your director said as he wandered back over, ‘are we ready to get this done? And then we can move onto Anthony and Joanna’s scene so you two can have a break, sound good?’

‘Sounds great!’ you and Aaron replied at the same time, the both of you trying to hold your laughter in.

The music started back up and you both settled back into your characters. As soon as you started singing, you threw yourself into the song and it took everything in your power not to laugh at Aaron, silently pleased when you got past the bit that had been holding you up all day.

You’d almost finished the song when you leant in to peck Aaron’s cheek; that was when he absolutely lost it. Falling onto his back, clutching his stomach, he dissolved into fits of giggles that had everything in the room coming to a halt.

‘Aaron! We almost had it!’ you exclaimed as you started laughing alongside him.

‘I know, I’m sorry! You started this!’ he replied in between laughs.

You heard your director sigh before speaking. ‘Right, let’s move onto a different scene for now and we’ll come back to this one tomorrow.’

‘We’ll be better tomorrow,’ you said from your spot next to Aaron on the floor.

‘Yeah, we promise!’

okay i just got home from atlantic entertainment expo and i need to share the highlight of my con. also hi @amtrax i cannot believe you found me here

so! last year i started tabling at conventions. last year's Atlantic Entertainment Expo was my first one ever. i absolutely love doing this and getting to meet fellow creatives, and i try to make it a point to create something for creators & actors whose work really impacted me as a way of giving back. and like it feels like (to me, this is not reflective of reality but the imposter syndrome) giving a teacher a stick figure drawing they're just going to put on the fridge. but it's the smallest way to show appreciation for the work they've done that's made my life better.

the second i heard that austin lee matthews, motorcycle master of midgar himself, was coming to one of my local conventions up here in the ass end of canada, i was excited. immediately knew i had to make something special because roche was one of my very favorite things about remake and i'll quote his big bombastic speech patterns when i'm trying to psyche myself up to deal with difficult clients at the day job.

so i make my little roche charms, set one aside and keep it on me, and go about my con weekend - and end up being so busy i can't slip away. i check his table a few times when its slow but i keep missing him, so i just resolve to get it to him tomorrow or send one of my friends.

and an important part of this story is i am terrible with recognizing people from photographs. like... once i actually meet someone in person that information is locked and loaded but i don't remember faces from photo promos.

(i have a story where i didn't recognize adam croasdell who stopped by to talk to me during setup last year, which was my first year of doing cons & i was so busy trying to get everything set up and i didn't recognize him because i was so deep in 'oh god what am i doing' and that is going to haunt me)

near to the end of the day i'm working on a client's commission and someone comes up to my table and waits incredibly patiently as i'm trying to muddle through some EOD burnout. sometimes people just come up and watch me draw so it can be kind of hard to tell if someone's just vibing or waiting for my attention (and my helper had disappeared into the ether so i was Very Whelmed) so when i finally turn, incredibly apologetic and awkward because oh god they were so patient and were waiting way too long, this guy is still beaming. i'm just like! i'm so sorry, is there anything i can help you with? and he just grins and says,

"oh i just wanted to come by and say," and then immediately drops into the roche voice, "HELLO MY FRIEND!"

AND WHEN I TELL YOU I LOSE IT. i immediately apologize to the client because i just need to give this man the thing i made, so i grab the charm and offer it and just start gushing. we get to chat a little bit - i don't even remember i was just so excited - but i have a client waiting. so i assume he's going to disappear into the crowd because - this is taking so much time.

but austin just stands there as i finish the commission... which takes longer than planned! i don't even know how long he was there. he's super supportive the entire time, making comments about my art, and when the commission is done and the client leaves.

so! he buys a vincent charm and then shows me the adorable promptis print he bought from another table and is just like a goddamn ray of sunshine the entire time. he also tipped which he absolutely did not need to do. again - incredibly enthusiastic and excited just to be there and be around fellow fans. it made my entire weekend. we get to talk a little more before i text my next one to let them know i'm ready for them.

i didn't get nearly as much time as i wanted to because man if someone every radiated golden retriever best friend energy, it's austin. literally everyone i spoke to who interacted with him was so taken.

he stopped by again near the end of the day yesterday when i had a line again so i didn't get to talk, but then he dropped that he'd found my tumblr (i'm sure my face was a perfect mask of horror, i pretend to be a professional artist & adult on twitter and here is where i radiate my feral rat gremlin energy) and i am going to finish the extra surprise i was working on and add more to it because - sincerely - made my convention and turned what could have been a very stressful situation into a wonderful memory. my literal only regret is that i forgot my ultimanias at home (along with half of my setup, crying into my hands) because i wanted to get those signed.

Austin, i will bring my awkward ass to your dms once i've recovered from con crunch, but sincerely if you are ever on PEI or get the hankering to go during the summer season, please hit me up. my family has a little cottage by the beach (not to be confused with a cabin in the woods) that is welcome and free for friends to use (in the least parasocial way possible, welcome to the island. after like two good conversations with someone you're buddies). i love the island, i love sharing what i love about it, and i hope this weekend made it clear that the island loves you.

( also if you ever have any art needs that require... whatever in the hell my style is please know i am here )

my god. i cannot emphasize how much i love doing conventions. the vibes, the excitement, all of the connections. realizing people are getting to be regulars and i recognize them from con to con and i get to ask them about how their year was while i draw and get to celebrate the good and try to offer whatever i can to balance out the bad.

my heart is so full right now.
