"Sin Forgivers | I'm proud to be a dog" - Perniciaro - Tony The Bricklayer wrote his ideas down on various scraps of paper, napkins, reused library catalog cards, etc. I always find something new when perusing his things. - @yagostagram #Art #Artist #Library #Sin #Forgiveness #Forgive #Dog #ArtQuotes #artistsoninstagram #ArtistQuotes #Tonythebricklayer#Perniciaro #Catalog #Paper # Ideas #Paint #Painter #Poet #Poetry #OneLiner #Author #Sicilian #Brooklyn #Bricklayer #BrickMason #OldWorld #Colorado #ColoradoArt #PuebloColorado #PuebloCO #SouthernColorado (at Westside, Pueblo) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1McxgJAy5x/?igshid=1mr29yprpw1wu

"A Chain of Seasons" by Helen Wade Roberts I remember my father taking me and my sisters to Helen's house in Pueblo, Colorado when we were kids. I could tell he respected her a great deal. There were very few people who I knew he thought highly of without him saying a word. I found this poetry book in his art room after he died.- @yagostagram R.I.P. Looking for a Painting? "Tony "The Bricklayer" Perniciaro, "I'm The Sky's Child", Mixed Media: Oil Crayon On Paper, Ca. 1983. Measures 29" X 41". Outsider Artist. Includes Original Receipt." A company by the name of Object Culture selling one of Tony Perniciaro's art pieces. I'm not sure if I have met the owner of this company. It seems very legitimate though. I was surprised when I first came across the Object Culture website listing the work because Tony rarely sold his art. There are also less considerate people who made off with some Tony The Bricklayer's creative legacy when he died in 2004. A reminder to always buy original artwork from reputable sources. "Anthony Perniciaro Was A Sicilian-American Painter-Poet; Born In 1917 In Brooklyn, New York And Passed Away In Boulder, Colorado In 2004. He Was A Prolific Self-Taught Artist Who Grew Up In Poverty During The Great Depression. His Work Has Been Described As Outsider Art And Is Heavily Influenced By His Life As A Laborer. Much Of His Work Is Also Focused On Social Commentary. His Book, Tony "The Bricklayer" Poem-Paintings Was Published By Delacorte Press In 1972. His Work Has Been Shown Across The United States In Various Galleries And Exhibitions." "Very Good Vintage Condition With Some Waviness To The Print." The description of the artwork and a brief, yet thoughtful (some regurgitated countless times) biography of Tony within quotation marks is from the @ObjectCulture website. Ad well as the images which are also courtesy of the previously mentioned business. #TonytheBricklayer #Art #Artist #Art4Sale #MixedMedia #OilPastels #OutsiderArt #ObjectCulture #SkysChild #Artwork #Poet #Poetry #SelfTaught #Bricklayer #Author #Writer #Colorado #Boulder #PuebloCO #PalmSprings #NewJersey #NewYork #Sicilian #Poverty #Brooklyn #Exhibitions #Galleries #ArtShow (at Object Culture) https://www.instagram.com/p/Btd-3T7F9pc/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1fxxi6ymxij1

This made me happy! Nice to know my father's work is still very appreciated. Half of the draw to the artwork was his charming/abrasive/kind/cruel personality. Really wish he was here sometimes. He'll be gone 15 years on 3/15/2019. 🎹⚒🖋🖌🖍✏📝📬📰📖💡🇮🇹 #Repost @tonythebricklayer • • • • • Looking for a Painting? The inside cover of Tony The Bricklayer: poem-paintings by tony perniciaro. Published in 1972 in New York by Delacorte Press. First and only printing. More info via Library of Congress and Open Library.
Tony bought most of the books he had published. The reason is unclear at this time. However it gave him the opportunity to autograph, and customize many of the copies he possessed.
Try WorldCat to find libraries that have the book in there collection. Copies are also available through independent sellers and bookstores on (Not an endorsement) Amazon. As of the July 5th, 2017 there were eight copies for sale. Prices ranged from about $50 - $200.
Follow Tony the Bricklayer on Twitter, Facebook, and/or Instagram for news about purchasing a copy from a trusted vendor.

These T-shirts were hand printed using screens left behind by Tony "the bricklayer" Perniciaro. They were made before his death in 2004. They are gray with black and orange ink. The front features a reproduction of one of Tony's original works from 1989. The image portrays an individual riding a horse. The accompanying text states: "good bye god... I'm going to boulder, co." The back of the shirt is blank. The Gildan Heavy Cotton shirts were made in Nicaragua and are 100% cotton. Mr. Perniciaro was born in 1917 in Brooklyn, New York and passed away in Boulder, Colorado in 2004. His work has been shown across the United States in various galleries and exhibitions.
