Currently obsessively thinking about a silent hill from Mary's perspective. Starting in the hospital, the nurses replaced with doctors, faces blacked out except for white shiny gnashing teeth. She only has in her pockets a note written on hotel stationary that says I'm Sorry.

Escaping and meeting a young man, cute and a lil awkward, who says you look a lot like his girlfriend Maria, and shes missing too? Can we look for her together?

Hes... sweet, a bit quiet. He gets very close to Mary often, pushes her boundaries, but this is all weird and strange and maybe hes just scared. When she mentions it, however, he makes a rude remark abt Just Wanting To Help Her but backs off.

They get seperated when the Red Pyramid Thing, unchanged in this version, comes and attacks them both, but chooses to persue him.

Laura is still there, and when Mary and her meet they cling together. She talks about an awful, ugly man she met earlier, and to watch out for him. She helps guide Mary through a maze like area before the Other World sets in and separates them.

The monsters in Mary's Silent Hill are almost all larger then her, and many masculine in appearance. They attack her head, try and choke her. Certain ones cough and gasp, arms thrashing wildly and thrashing on the floor when knocked down. Some seems to have exposed, black lungs that stutter to breathe. If Angela and Eddie are the same in this version, then their boss fights remain the same. The Abstract Daddy just as horrifying to Mary as it is to Angela.

Every reunion with the man, hes different. Less nice, more haunted looking. He starts to call her Maria, and barely acknowledges her if she corrects him. Following his advice leads to darker and more dangerous areas. The Red Pyramid keeps coming and chasing him away, but shes always collateral damage when that happens.

Eventually, she makes it to the hotel. Hes waiting for her in the hotel room, haggard, almost unrecognizable from the man he was when they first met. He has a monologue about how she's been sick, and hes been trying his best to be there for her. She doesnt understand, she doesnt know him, shes NOT Maria! She never will be. She starts coughing.

He makes to leave but at the last second turns, and hes a monster now. Large, fleshy, imposing, always trying to suffocate her under thick hands. Upon his defeat, two Red Pyramids arrive and stab at the dying thing over and over until finally impaling themselves.

There are different endings still. She remembers her disease, and her murder, in most of them. In the best ending she leaves the town with Laura, likely still ill, but alive again. In one of the worst, she wakes up in the trunk of a car, as water begins seeping in.

Replies to the post weren't open but I wanted to let you know I read your post about Königsblog and it made so much sense.

Like, I hardly touched the COD tag despite really liking the characters bc the amount of untagged rape content made me so past disgusted with my own body that I was uncomfortable IRL for a few days at a time(also I'm asexual so it was extra unwelcome)

But then I saw your post in passing, took one look at the blog and was able to link the fics that made me feel so horrible just scrolling past

So after looking up their blog and blocking every blog that interacts or recommends them etc, my scrolling experience is much nicer and actually enjoyable in the COD tag, so thank you!

Good evening! yeah, no, my replies have been closed ever since I made a post talking abt schizophrenia (a disorder that I have!) where people thought it'd be funny to mock that & to try and trigger delusional thinking, tbh. however, I am glad that you got in touch!

honestly? as a survivor of both SA & rape, it makes my fucking skin crawl, and it's a large part of why I've left the fandom; seeing it across ao3, tumblr AND twitter was just retraumatising tbh, like, genuinely. and others have shared the same sentiment as well. it's disgusting how anyone can look at abuse and decide to make pornography of it, in all honesty, and it's mostly coming from "new" fans (as in: those who only have interest in tiktok edits of the characters but have never touched the games and won't). however, I'm so, so genuinely sorry to hear that you've had that experience and that you had to see any of that - the fact that you're ace, esp, is just... I'm so very sorry to hear that it's STILL happening tbh.

it's a harrowing experience to have, esp bc platforms WILL NOT take that kind of stuff down, as well as the racism, homophobia, saneism, and general bigotry; it's a really, really, harrowing thing and I am so sorry that you were subjected to that & that you were put through that 🫂

I am however very glad to hear that you've taken the correct steps in ensuring that you don't see it again, but if I may add: you can ALSO filter tags & content, so if you put in the general tags (eg "noncon") and the urls of those you've blocked, it DOES guarantee that you'll never see that! there's also browser extensions, I believe, which also allow it but I don't use desktop that much to confirm it (i mostly only ever use it for writing a lot at a time tbh), so I'd suggest also looking into that as well bc you can never be TOO safe and you can never be TOO cautious!

but even tho I'm no longer in the fandom & I only write for the characters that HAVEN'T been ruined by freaks yet, do know that if you wish to stop by again, you are MORE than welcome to; my blog will always be safe from that kind of grotesque bullshit & I do my best to block & report every single one that I come across as well! I may not be perfect by any means, but I do try to do the right thing and to ensure that I'm as inclusive as and that I do try to keep this blog a safe space <3

Any advice for someone who wants to make/run an aesthetic blog with their own content?

Ahhhh okay I’m just going to give some general advice based off of my personal experience, but if you want something particular or want me to elaborate on something please feel free to message me or shoot me another ask!

So, first off I guess decide what kind of aesthetic blog? Like is it general aesthetic or myth aesthetic or some other kind of aesthetic (I know harry potter is popular). Then I’d suggest finding a name! Based on whatever you want your blog to be I’d say have the name reflect that? LIke mine’s thewinedarksea bc this is a myth blog. I know a lot of people judge based on names for first look, and also good urls can be hard to find bc there are lots of people on tumblr, so if you think of a name I’d say grab it and hold on to it and then focus on building your blog.

The next step is kind of dependent on whether or not you’re planning on reblogging other people’s aesthetic or just posting your own–I do a mix of both. I’ll skip this for now bc in the ask it just mentions original content but it’s just basically going about finding blogs you like and then following blogs they reblog from, etc., and I’d be happy to rec some blogs or whatever if you want content similar to mine.

For making original content and posting it, I cannot stress enough the importance of tagging. Honestly it’s a godsend, since a lot of people track specific tags. There are also a couple of blogs that like to be tagged in stuff, so once again depending on what kind of content you’re producing there are specific tags, obviously I don’t know what stuff you’re doing so I’ll skip that. Also just quantity?? like just make things and throw them into the void that is tumblr that’s pretty much how you get people to start noticing your stuff (also maybe asking blogs similar to yours to check you out/signal boost you? but I’d be a bit wary of that bc some blogs don’t like doing that so make sure to read their faq if they have one or something). Also having a set schedule works wonders–figure out what you want to post when and then schedule everything. I think also a really important thing is if you’re making a blog with all or mostly your content (or even just some of it) to have a couple of things made beforehand? It took me a bit to get into making things in advance; when I first started I only posted things occasionally, and it wasn’t until I started consistently posting content every day that my blog started to gain some traction; now I make a bunch of things in advance if I have free time (which is pretty rare, but hopefully it’ll get better soon) so that I don’t have to stress about not having something ready when I need it–I have things scheduled up through June 14th or something now, and around 98 edits in drafts so I’m covered if anything comes up that eats up all my time. Just. Have stuff on hand. And yeah if it’s a blog of all your content I highly recommend posting at least one thing a day.

And finally, choosing a mobile theme/desktop theme is super important bc once again first impression judgements. I know a lot of aesthetic blogs opt for more minimal themes for their desktop, and there are lots of really good theme blogs out there that you can scroll. Also if you know some users that have themes you really like if they have a source for their theme on their page you can check out the people who made it and see if you like their themes (which is, incidentally, how I found mine). So yeah, just maybe look around at some people whose themes you admire, have it reflect your personality, etc. etc.
