In a sea of hate, I'd just like to offer my two cents. I completely agree with your take about cartoons. And i think any reasonable person who touches grass would also agree.

Like there's nothing inherently bad about a 30 year old watching ben 10, but if that 30 year old is upset ben 10 never adresses the 2008 fiscal collapse in the government that 30 year old probably needs to take a step back and re-evaluate some things.

Steven universe is a great example of this. Terminally online adults got upset that a colorful diverse show with queer themes for 7 year olds didn't take war and genocide seriously enough lol.

oh… im sorry anon but I have to say one thing people got mad that Steven universe tried to tackle themes of race and oppression with clear ties to real life slavery and ended up humanizing the slavers. hi i saw that one fandom discourse post that blew up, and I am one of those people that can't read.

A lot of people are clearly misinterpreting your post, though I'm guessing it's just calling out the type of people who would draw nsfw art on Splatoon (rated E for everyone) and then tell adults "to watch their children" in response to upset parents talking about their kids trying to play their (E rated) game only to see that very inappropriate art. Despite it being very very public art on a very E rated game.

Like, you'd expect that grown adults would know how to act in a game open to anyone of any age.

But yes, is it safe to assume that it isn't referring those who create analysis, head canons, fan art/fiction, etc. as long as it's respectful?
