when I think about popstar!reader x paul I think about maybe reader also being a nepobaby so shes always around the paddock and thats how she noticed him and as the lyrics in "i can see you" says miss girl ALWAYS paying attention on him and knowing who he is just bc she thought he was cute and every time shes at the paddock (or maybe at the mercedes garage/factory when paul was a merc junior and shes somehow related to merc?? idk) shes always thinking of what would happen if she just went and talk to him, smiling at him etc. and he just doesn't react bc of who she is

then in the most random way possible something happening between them like at monaco race week where there's also partiessss after the race they coincidentally bumping into each other and with a little bit of help of the ✨ alcohol ✨ things starting between them... honestly that makes a lot of sense. like we've brushed the topic of them doing some kind of collab or work together (bcs and we kept everything professional but something has changed, something i like from "i can see you") but this also helps a lot. like maybe both tbh, yn is known for both being a pop star but f1 fans know her as that driver/staff's sister/daughter/whatever and always think it's so cool when she visits the paddock, and even cooler when she ?? idk, gets hired by some company to make interviews with all merc drivers ????? 😭 or maybe it's easier if she's just nepo baby + popstar and she just happens to run into paul all the time.... and she knows that some flirting can never hurt so she's always very open to paul, smiling at him and touching him subtly yk....
